ADAMS, Willie Jay, 88 of Crab Orchard, died Friday, Aug. 9, 1996 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. A native of Lincoln County, he was born March 26, 1908 to the late George Mack Adams and America Elizabeth Noakes Adams. He was a retired farmer, a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ and the widower of Myrtle J. Hines Adams. One daughter, Betty Ann Adams, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include six sons, James Adams and Clifford Adams of Crab Orchard, Kenneth Adams of Liberty Bobby Adams of Cincinnati, OH., Earl Adams of Frankfort and Billy Adams of Knoxville TN.; two daughters, Lula Howard of Perryville and Bertha Cahill of Sarasota, FL.; one sister, Eunice Dellie Spoonamore of Crab Orchard; 20 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Aug.12 at the Fox Funeral Home with Bro. Ric Eastes officiating. Burial was in Adams Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Shane Adams, Clifton Collins Adams, Robert Adams, Earl William Adams, Steven Hoeck, Frank Hoeck and Edward Howard, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Freeman Caldwell, Truman Bastin, Rue Reynolds, and Robbie Martin. Fox Funeral Home was in Charge of the arrangements.

Services for Dora Elizabeth Mitchell Badgett, a former resident of Stanford, Aztec Trail, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel, Frankfort, with Rev William A. Hartung officiating.

Burial was held in the family lot at Sunset Memorial Gardens in, (the rest torn off)

BALLARD- Coy B. Ballard, age 86 of Rt.1, Stanford, died at his home July 25, Saturday morning of a heart attack after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 30, 1895 in Lincoln Co. Ky. to the late General Marion and Sara Liz Anderson Ballard. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of WW I and a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ for 47 years.

Survived by his wife, Roxie Lee Ballard, Rt. 1 Stanford; 4 sons, Donald Ballard, Jacksonville, Fla., Wayland, Gary and Ralph Ballard of Rt. 1, Stanford; 4 daughters, Arla Jean Roberts, Leaven Worth, Kansas, Kathleen Lentz and Kay Leber, of Louisville, Faye Copley of Las Vegas, Nev.; twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild.

Funeral services were Monday at the Martin Funeral Home with Ernie Carter officiating. Burial was in the Manuel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Henry, Timothy and Virgil Siler, Jeffery and Jamie Stickler and Roger Munford. (1981)

BLANKENSHIP- W.T. Blankenship, 79, of Preachersville, died Sunday, July 26, (probably 1981, attached to above notice). A native of Lincoln County he was a retired farmer and retired State Highway employee.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Blankenship, Preachersville; two sons, Tom Blankenship, Preachersville, and Billy Shaw Blankenship, Norris, Tenn.; two grandsons, Bryan and David Blankenship.

Honorary pallbearers were Theo Nantz, J.L. Sutton, Fred Shaw, Paul Owens, Cicil Smith, Sidney Doughty, Ray Wilson, Walker Cosby.

BROOKS-Mrs. Ruth Brooks, 71, of 403 Redwood Drive, died Tuesday March 16, 1982 at her home.

CARTER, William E., 72 of Stanford, died Saturday, July 22 at the VA Hospital in Lexington. A native of Lockland, OH, he was born Sept. 17, 1922 to William Andrew Carter and Minnie Kelley Carter. He was the first male LPN in Kentucky, a retired LPN at the Fort Logan Hospital for 21 years. a former minister of the Pine Grove Church of Christ, A minister for 25 years at the Church of Christ, a graduate of the Danville School of Practical Nursing in 1957, a WWII Army veteran, and a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include his wife, Isabel Oaks Carter of Stanford; one son, William E. Carter, Jr., of Stanford; one daughter, Claudia Jean Ferguson of Frankfort; one sister, Sarah Whitley of Bainbridge, OH., one grandchild, Allen Carter Ferguson of Frankfort; and several nieces and nephews.

Military rites were performed by Caswell Saufley Post # 18 of the American Legion at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 23. Funeral services were held Monday, July 24 at the Fox Funeral Home with Mr. Virgil Horseman officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery.

CHANDLER- Mr. James Tucker Chandler, age 70, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon, April 22, ?, at his home on Elm Street in Crab Orchard. Mr. Chandler was a native of Lincoln County and was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Holtzclaw Chandler; a son, Ray Chandler of Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Joe Manuel, Crab Orchard; six grand children, four nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Howard Funeral Home in Crab Orchard. Burial was in the Chandler family cemetery at Cedar Creek on Route 1, Stanford.

Pallbearers were Alvin Adams, Ray Settle, Earl Woods, Paul Noland, Chad Middleton, and Theo Nantz.

CHANDLER- Mary Manuel Chandler, 87 of Star Avenue, Stanford died Saturday Jan 28, ? at Logan Hospital. A native of Garrard County, she was a housewife, member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ and the daughter of the late Jack and Emma Hunt Manuel. Her husband, Jeb Chandler, died Jan. 5, 1948.

Survivors include a daughter Mrs. George Conatser of Stanford; a sister, Mrs. Otis Spartt of Toledo, Ohio; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Beazley, Raney, and Speaks Funeral Home with Rev. William E Carter in charge. Burial was at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Lincoln County.

CHANDLER- Ruth Chandler, 76 of Dayton, Ohio died June 2, ? in Indianapolis, Ind. after an illness of a few years.

A native of Lincoln County, Crab Orchard, she lived here most of her life. The widow of James Chandler, she was a member of the Crab Orchard Christian Church. She was born May 27, 1898.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Manuel of Dayton, Ohio; a son, Samuel Chandler of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, W.R. Holtzclaw, of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Services were conducted at the Beazley, Raney, Speaks, Martin Funeral Home, Crab Orchard, Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Derrel Cone officiating.

Burial was in the Crab Orchard Cemetery. Ray Settle, G. Brock, Joe Hammons, and Theo. Nantz, Chad Middleton, Jr., and Woddy Ball served as pallbearers. (1974)

CONATSER, Lorraine Chandler, 74 of Ottenheim Road, Waynesburg, died Sunday, April 16, 1995, at her residence. A native of Lincoln County, she was born March 20, 1921 to the late Jeb Chandler and Mary Manuel Chandler. She was a homemaker, a member of the Stanford Church of the Nazarene and the widow of George Alfred Conatser.

Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Kopczynski of Tocoma, WA and Georgie Leach of Hamilton Oh.; 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21 at 1 p.m. at the Fox Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Hammon? Officiating. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

DISHON, Ed, 58 of Crab Orchard, died Sunday, Jan 1, at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. A native of Lincoln County, he was born March 21, 1936 to the late Hubert Dishon and Mayvy Wells Dishon. He was a retired Sgt. from the U.S. Air Force and a member of Shriners, Scottish Rite and Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharlene Dishon of Indianapolis, IN., Tiffany Dishon of Somerset, and Scarlet Dishon of Columbus, OH; one brother, Ray Dishon, of Cincinnati, Oh; four sisters, Pauline Kelley of Mt. Vernon, Diana Wood of Crab Orchard, Retha Huffman of Lancaster and Netha Burgin of Berea; and one granddaughter, Ashley Dishon.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 4 at the Fox Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Daughtery officiating. Burial was in Mills Springs National Cemetery in Nancy. (1995)

DISHON, Elsie Mae Frazier, 85 of Crab Orchard, died Saturday, May 10 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center after having complications with leukemia.

A native of Cynthiana, she was born April 22, 1912, to the late John Henry and Maggie Lou Anderson Frazier. She was a homemaker, a member of Ephesus Baptist Church for 73 years where she was also a Sunday school teacher for 50 or more years. And she was the widow of Vernon Ray Dishon.

Survivors include two sons, Glynn Dishon of Norwood, OH., and Larry Dishon of Crab Orchard; five sisters, Beulah Grant of Clearwater, FL., Mrs. Walter (Irene) Adams of Brodhead, Grace Blanton of Stanford; Viola Itchue of Lincoln Park, MI.; two brothers, Richard Ed Frazier of Pryse and Bill Frazier of Stanford; 7 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 13 at the Ephesus Baptist Church with Rev. Ewell Hargis officiating. Burial was in the Ephesus Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Ray Hatfield, Tommy and Kevin Messer, Bobby Petrey, Wayne Godbey and Doug Bishop.

DURHAM, Mildred Lucille Schaffer, 79 of Stanford, died Sunday, June 9 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. A native of Brodhead, she was born Sept 27, 1915 to the late Willie Shaffer and Mattie Harper Schaffer Lovings. She was a member of the Stanford Baptist Church, having been a former member of the WMU and a GA sponsor of the Baptist Church. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a primary dietitian from the Kentucky School for the deaf.

Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Durham of Stanford; one son, Charles Durham of Stanford; three daughters, Ruth Ellen May of Lexington, Virginia Roberts of Campbellesburg and Mildred Gray of Stanford; two sisters, Edna Adkins of Corbin; and Bille Ruth Daugherty of Sheppherdsville; 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 1 great- great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 12 at the McKnight-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Gary King officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford.

ELMORE- Mrs. Mayme H. Elmore, 70 of Logan Ave., Stanford, died Monday, January 7, 1980 at Ephraim McDowell Hospital after a long illness.

A native of Lincoln County, she was a member of Drakes Creek Baptist Church and widow of William M. Elmore.

Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Elsie Bodner of Danville; 2 sons, Bobby Elmore of Danville and Walter Elmore of Dayton, Ohio; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lela Deatherage of Stanford and Mrs. Margaret Breedlove of Richmond; a brother, John Adams of Bedford, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan and Fox Funeral Home with Rev. William C. Pack officiating. Burial was in Lancaster Cemetery.

ENSSLIN- Services for Edward A. Ensslin, 62, of Oakwood Estates, were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 6, at Beazley-Raney-Speaks Funeral Home by the Rev. Oscar Mayes. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Ensslin, former Stanford mayor and business and civic leader, died Tuesday, March 3, 1981, from an apparent heart attack at Fort Logan Hospital.

Active pallbearers were Bryce Allen, L.E. Latimer, Andrew Dicker, Willie Sneed, Lloyd Baxter and Calvin White.

Honorary pallbearers were officers and directors of Lincoln County National Bank.

Mr. Harry Richard Faulkner, age 38, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon, July 10, 1957, while on a fishing trip at Cumberland Lake. Dr. Howard Frisbie accompanied Mr. Faulkner, who was planning to do some water skiing before fishing. As he was starting to ski he slumped over in the water and was then pulled into the boat by Dr. Frisbie. Dr. Frisbie gave him artificial respiration in the boat and then returned to Lee's Ford Dock where he was again given artificial respiration. A resuscitator was rushed from Somerset Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Mr. Faulkner was a member of the Harris Memorial Methodist Church, a member of the Stanford Rotary Club and was the owner and operator of the Stanford Woods Products Co.

He was active in civic affairs and during recent months he had been working hard as a member of the Stanford Chamber of Commerce to secure additional industry for Stanford. He was born in Cook County, Michigan and had spent most of his life in Lincoln County.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Nancy Sandidge Faulkner; a son, Harry Richard Faulkner, Jr. his father, Eugene Faulkner, Danville; four brothers, Vernon Faulkner, Stanford, Roy Faulkner, Brownsville, Texas, Glen Faulkner, Lexington and James Faulkner, Nicholasville; three sisters, Mrs. Howard Reed, Orleans, Indiana, Mrs. Robert Gooch, Danville, and Mrs. Glen Sowders, Liberty.......... GORDON-Lucian B, Gordon, 57 of Route 1 Stanford, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rachel Tucker Gordon; four brothers; A.R. Gordon, Harrodsburg, Marshall Gordon of Pekin, IN; K. R and F.H. Gordon both of Danville, KY.

HARNESS, John R., 63 of Lancaster, died Monday, April 17 at the Garrard County Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, KY. A native of Lincoln County, he was born Feb 4, 1932 to the late W. H. Harness and Bannie Taylor Harness. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Howard Harness of Lancaster; one son, John Robert Harness of Broughtontown; daughter-in-law, Teresa Harness of Broughtontown; and a granddaughter, April Nicole Harness of Broughtontown.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 19 at the Fox Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating. Burial was in Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery.

JAMES, Herbert Morris, 86, died June 3 at the Charlestown Medical Center in Charlestown, IN. A native of Pine Grove community in Lincoln County, he was born Oct 30, 1909 to the late Cyrus and Hattie Chappell James. He was married July 5, 1933 to Dorthy Dishon.

Survivors include his wife, Dorthy Dishon of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Montenna and (Hubert Morgan) and Barbara and (Don Barton); one son, Billy Lee and (Clara James); a brother, Robert James of Dayton, OH.; and a sister, Cordia Mae Siler, Waynesburg; 6 grandchildren; several great grandchildren. CHARLESTOWN, Ind. - Herbert Morris James, 86, of Spring Street died Monday at Medical Center of Southern Indiana. Born Oct. 30, 1909, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Cyrus and Hattie Chappel James. He was retired foreman at Paramount Foods, Louisville, and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy James; a son, Billy L. James; two daughters, Monteena Morgan and Barbara Barton, both of Charlestown; a brother, Robert James of Dayton, Ohio; a sister, Cordia May Siler of Waynesburg; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services were Wednesday at Grayson Funeral Home by the Rev. James G. Cash and Carroll H. Medley. Burial was in Charlestown Cemetery.

KIDD- Mrs. Martha Susan Kidd, 83 of Stanford, died Friday, July 2, 1976 /77 at Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio after a short illness.

She was a native of Lincoln County and a member of the Stanford Church of Christ. Mrs. Kidd was the widow of Ollie J. Kidd. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Marie VanArsdale of Louisville, Mrs. Pauline Reddy of Norwood, Ohio and Mrs. Earline Young of Lexington; two sons, Porter and Chester Kidd of Stanford; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Morgan & Fox Funeral Home with burial in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

LAGNESE- Services for Chester M. Lagnese, 70, of Eaton Subdivision Stanford, Route 2, who died Monday, December 3, 1979 at his residence after a long illness, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home.

Officiating at the service was the Rev.. Wendell Douglas and Rev. Vincent T. Dentinger.

Burial was in Parksville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Truman White, Tim Belcher, Jimmy and Daid Lucida, Ken Raley and Jason Tapscott.

LONG- Mrs. Cynthia Lou Long, 72 of Stanford, died Friday, March 19, 1982 at Ephraim McDowell Memorial Hospital in Danville.

A native of Rockcastle County. She was born July 30, 1909. She was a member of Danville Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Hobart Long, Stanford: 1 son. Henry Clay Long, Franklin, Tenn.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mary Lee Bullock, Charlottesville, Va., and Mrs. Sue Dell Baker, Waynesburg; 1 brother, Albert Long, Brodhead; 1 sister, Mrs. Bill Brown, Brodhead; and 7 grand-children.

Pallbearers were Derrick Naylor, Jeffery Baker, David Long, James E. Brown, Don Young and Don Long.

Gertha Long, 83, of Wyandotte, Mich., a native of Lincoln County, died Monday, July 16, at Wyandotte General Hospital. A member of the Church of Christ, Mrs. Long was the widow of Mike Long.

Survivors include a daughter Eva Yaden of Newport, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Douglas of Corbin and Mrs. Grace Jacobs of Georgetown, Ohio; a brother W.L. Dishon, of Covington; two grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Morgan and Fox Funeral Home was in Charge of local arrangements.

Funeral services will be held today at 2:00 Daylight Saving Time at the Morgan Funeral Home in Stanford for Mr. Mike L. Long, age 70, who died Sunday in Wyandotte, Michigan. Mr. Long was a former resident of Lincoln County and operated a restaurant at Rowland for several years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertha Dishon Long; a daughter, Mrs. Reno Yaden; a grandson Caron Genton and a granddaughter, Mrs. Carlos Herrington all of Michigan and a cousin, Jim Chandler of Crab Orchard.

Mr. Charles Brown will conduct the funeral services. The burial will be at the Buffalo Springs Cemetery. The Morgan Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

MARTIN, Delphia Elizabeth Woods, 89 of Pine Grove Road, Stanford, Kentucky, died Thursday September 28, 2000 at the Fort Logan Extended Care, Stanford, KY.

She was born March 28, 1911 in Rockcastle County. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Linda James Woods. She was the widow of Frank Samuel Martin. She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ.

Survivors include six daughters, Glenna Rabin of Oak Forest, IL, Virginia Durham, Florence Reynolds, Jean Goggins and Linda Curtis all of Stanford, KY; five sons, Bud Martin, Sonny Martin, Charles Martin and J.C. Martin all of Stanford and Paul Martin of Crab Orchard, KY; one brother Preston Lewis Woods of Florence, KY.; 35 grandchildren; 17 great- great grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, October 1, 2000 at McKnight- Martin Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Bro. Curt Herrington. Burial was in the Pine Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

McFERSON, Roy, 69 of Stanford, died Monday, Dec 4 at his home. A native of Breathett County, he was a retired farmer and truck driver. He was a member of the Lincoln County Pine Grove Church of Christ. His foster parents were the late George and Mary Logan.

Survivors include his wife Mary Lucille McFerson, a son, William of Stanford; three daughters, Mrs. M.K. A native of St. Joseph, Ill., she was a housewife and a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ira McKinney, Route 1, Stanford; two sons, Ralph McKinney, Kings Mountain and George V. McKinney, Route 1, Stanford; two brothers, John McGuire, Stanford and James McGuire, Lowville, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Violet Hoskins, Lancaster, Mrs. Virgie Eaton, Danville, Mrs. Reba Wilson, St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Creta Montsinger, St.Joseph, Ill.; and 1 grandchild.

Pallbearers were Bradley McKinney, Swannie McKinney, Paul McKinney, Kenneth Ball, Hayes Seatherage, Buddy Young and Gary Jenkins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 22 at the Morgan and Fox Funeral Home with Dr. John Carter officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

MONTGOMERY - Zella Montgomery, 76, of Miller Street was found dead Friday morning about 7:40 a.m. at her home from an apparent heart attack, according to Lincoln County Coroner C.R. Barnett.

Mrs. Montgomery probably died Thursday night, Oct. 19, 1978, around 9 o'clock, Barnett said. Stanford Rescue Squad members Junior Austin and Phillip Russell answered the call.

Mrs. Montgomery was a member of the Stanford Baptist Church and principal at Stanford Elementary School. She lived alone at her home.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harvey Dean Reynolds of Lexington, one brother, Crom Burton of Pleasant Plains, Illinois and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Fred Reichenback, Eugene Moore, Calvin Denham, Earl Lee Taylor, Arnold Stogsdill, Ronald Leach and Tuck Hume.

NOLAND, Wayne Gordon, 55 of Hustonville, died Monday, Aug. 26 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Center in Danville. A native of Woodford Co., he was born June 15, 1941 to Elizabeth Harper Noland of Crab Orchard and the late Phillip Noland. He was a repairman for GTE for 32 years and a member of the Moreland United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include his wife Carolyn Henson Noland; one daughter, Cristi Noland; two sons, Wayne Noland, Jr., of Junction City and David Noland of Hustonville; two sisters, Robin Harris of Stanford and Sherry Irvin of Crab Orchard; and 5 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug 29 at 2 p.m. at the W.L.Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Watts officiating. Burial will be in the Hustonville Cemetery.

OAKES- Mrs. Netie Letcher Oakes of 207 Logan Avenue, Stanford, Kentucky died on Monday January 29, 1979 at the Friendship House, Danville, Kentucky from an extended illness. She was 89 years of age.

Mrs. Oakes was a native of Jessamine County in Kentucky and a retired schoolteacher of 18 years in the Stanford County School System. During her teaching years her transportation was by horse and buggy except for the last two years she taught. She was crowned queen of the Stanford House on May 10, 1975. She is the daughter of the late; John O. and Celia Jane Long Bogie, and the widow of Thomas Oakes who passed away in 1969.

She is survived by one son. W. J. Oakes, Stanford, Kentucky; one daughter, Etta Mae Zind, Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Mark Bogie, Frankfort, Kentucky and Joe Bogie, Hustonville, Kentucky; two sisters, Hattie Lunsford and Susie Montgomery, both fo Frankfort, Kentucky; two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday January 31, 1979 at 2:30 p.m. at the Beazley Raney Speaks Funeral Home in Stanford, Kentucky with Virgil Horseman officiating. Burial was at Stanford, Kentucky.

During the National Nursing Home Week in May of 1975, Mrs. Oakes was selected to be the first most popular resident of Stanford House and was their first Mrs. Stanford House Queen. Later she went on to Richmond, Kentucky to a pageant held at Kenwood Nursing Home Center and was crowned the winner of that contest, and was known as Mrs. Ken-Rich, that event was attended by Gov. Carroll.

Mrs. Oakes was known and loved by all the people she came in contact with, young and old alike. +

PARKER, Juanita Deatherage, 72 of Berea, died Tuesday, August 21 at her residence. A native of Lincoln County, she was born March 23, 1924 to Hubert Deatherage. She was a homemaker, a member of Stanford Baptist Church, and the widow of Robert S. Parker.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Parker of Versailles and Lanny Dale Parker of Richmond; two daughters, Jeannine Lakes of Berea and Tammy Vaught of Hustonville; one brother, Hubert Deatherage, Jr., of Stanford; two sisters, Irene Parker and Lucille Goodrich, both of Frankfort; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 23 at the Fox Funeral Home with Bro. Vincent Carman officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Spring Cemetery.

STANFORD - Services for Juanita Deatherage Parker, 72, Blue Ridge Drive, Berea, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Vincent Carman. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. She died Tuesday at home. Born March 23, 1924, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of Hubert and Fronie Root Deatherage. PAYNE, Elizabeth Mae "Betsy" Pepples, 90, of Stanford, died Saturday, Jan. 6 at her residence. A native of Lincoln County, she was born May 19, 1905 to the late James Harm Pepples and Malinda Catherine Lawrence Pepples. She was a homemaker, a retired attendant of the Stanford Laundromat, a member of the Stanford Presbyterian Church, and the widow of John Thomas Payne.

Survivors include two daughters, Johnetta Payne of Stanford and JoAnn Payne of Stanford; 4 step grandchildren; 2 nephews; 1 niece; 3 great nephews; and 1 great niece. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan 11 at 1 p.m. at the Stanford Presbyterian Church with Rev. Lee Jennings officiating. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery.

PENCE, Hubert, 74 of Stanford, died Sunday, July 14 at his residence. A native of Lincoln County, he was born Sept. 19, 1921 to the late Sam Pence and Rosa Oaks Pence. He was a retired farmer and a Member of Pine Grove Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Cloma New Pence of Stanford; two sons, Jack Sutton of Howell, MI., and Terry Sutton of Stanford; three daughters, Louise Unthank of Richmond, Brenda Estes of Stanford, and Beverly Madden of Huntindon, PA.; one brother, Sammie Pence of Stanford; one sister, Evelyn Lawson of Stanford; special grandson, Curtis Sutton of Huntindon, PA.; and 5 other grandsons; and 5 nieces.

RAMBO- Cora Lee (Doan) Rambo, 70 of 211 Logan Avenue, Stanford, died September 3, 1976, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was a member of Stanford Church of Christ.

Survivors are her husband Bill Rambo; one daughter, Mrs. Adrian Gooch, Stanford: three brothers, Orderly Doan, Stanford; William T. Doan, Lexington; Roscoe B. Doan, Columbus, Ohio; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

The Funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Morgan & Fox Funeral Home by Mr. Virgil Horseman. Burial was in Buffalo Springs.

RICE- Mrs. Allie H. Rice, 70 of Stanford died Tuesday, December 11, 1979 at Ephraim McDowell Hospital after a long illness. A Native of Lincoln Co, she was a member of the Stanford Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Hart Rice of Stanford; seven daughters, Mrs. Jess Law of Crestwood, Ky., Mrs. Amel Henderson, Mrs. Lewis sudduth, Mrs. Donald Spears, Mrs. Ned Stickler, Miss Linda Rice and Mrs. Freda Stevens, all of Stanford; three sons, Jack Rice of Preachesrville; Henry C. Rice of Stanford and Roger Rice of Louisville; 23 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

ROWE- Mrs. Mattie Jane Rowe, 69, Crab Orchard, died Sunday, January 28, 1979 at the Ephraim McDowell Hospital. She was a native of Rockcastle County and a housewife. A member of the Church of Christ and she is the widow of William Gilbert Rowe.

TURNER- Van Turner, 73 of Crab Orchard, died Thursday, December 6, 1979 at Fort Logan Hospital. Born March 12, 1906 in Lincoln County, Mr. Turner was the son of the ate Pete and Julie Adams Turner. He was a retired factory employee and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, Lincoln County.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Martin Funeral Home in Crab Orchard. The Rev. Cecil Roundtree officiated and burial was in Ephesus Cemetery, Lincoln County.

WEAVER. Walter Harold, 69, of Stanford, died Wednesday, Oct 23 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. A native of Lincoln County, he was born May 31, 1927 to the late Walter Weaver and Ada Tapp Weaver Popplewell. He was a retied pipefitter, a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church, a U.S.Army veteran of WWII, a member of the American Legion Post # 345 in Stanford, The American Legion Post #46 in Boyle County, and of the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Union # 152

WHITE- Mrs. Minnie Boone White, widow of William T. White, who died two years ago, passed into the great beyond at 11: 30 Monday night. Aged 51, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George D. Boone. Her father, having preceded her to the grave in 1905. She was married to Mr. White and nine children are the fruit of the union. They are; Mrs. A.C. Wright, this county;

Misses Elizabeth, Ruth E. Frances, Mary Rose, Christine White, Stanford; George and Edward B. White, Louisville and Joseph White, Stanford. One sister, Mrs. J.P. Robinson, Knoxville; two brothers, Clarence M. Boone, Oilton, Okla., Frank Boone, this county and her mother.

All of whom have the unstinted sympathy of their many friends in the irreparable loss thy have sustained. Mrs. White moved with her family from the South End following the death of her husband and she and her children made many friends during their sojourn in the city. She was a devoted wife, model mother and dutiful daughter and a splendid Christian character. A member of the Christian church since a mere girl, she attended services of her church and was greatly interested in all good causes. She will be greatly missed by friends and relatives but the loss falls heaviest on her children who are made orphans by her passing. That He Who notes the sparrow fall may give them strength and grace to bear the blow that has been dealt them is a wish and prayer of all. Funeral services were held at the home on Whitley Avenue at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. C.N. Barnette officiating and burial followed in Buffalo Springs Cemetery by the side of her husband. (no year listed)

Reno A. Yaden, born March 1, 1920 passed away in Newport, Michigan, April 18, 1980.

He is survived by his wife, Eve Long Yaden, a stepdaughter, Trevelyn Herrington of Taylor, Mich. and a son, Caron La Neil Genton of Southgate, 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Mr. Yaden joined the Engadine VFW post # 8372 in 1967, and was a life member. He entered the armed forces in 1941, began Foreign Service in Africa in 1942. Wounded, he returned to the U.S. in March 1943 and was discharged in September of the same year.

Services were held at the Mortenson Funeral Home in Trenton,Tuesday, April 22, at 1 p.m. the Reverend Curtis Hickey officiating. Interment was
in Michigan Memorial Park with a military funeral (Eva Long Yaden is the daughter of Mike and Gertha Dishon Long)

ZAAL, Frances Tate, 92 died Monday in the Episcopal Church Home, Louisville. She was a native of Stanford, a former member of the Louisville
Country Club and the Second Presbyterian Church in Louisville. She was the wife of the late Arie Zaal, former ambassador from the Netherlands.

Survivors include two nephews, Thomas S. Tate and William M. Tate, both of Louisville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Luke's Chapel of the Episcopal Church Home, Louisville. Burial will be in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may go to the scholarship fund of the Episcopal Church Home. (1996)
