CRAB ORCHARD - Hubert H. Adams, 87, of Main Street, died Thursday at Sowder Nursing Home, Brodhead.
Born Aug. 17, 1911, he was a son of the late Loyal and Gracie Eads Adams. He was a retired carpenter, a concrete mason and former railroad employee. He was a member of Ottowa Baptist Church and Crab Orchard Masonic Lodge 636 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Cash Adams of Crab Orchard; four daughters, Roberta Taylor of Brodhead, Betty Wilson of Hamilton, Ohio, Carol Buckler of Stanford and Nadine Newcomb of Crab Orchard; a brother, Walter Adams of Brodhead; a sister, Mary Halcomb of Brodhead; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donzeda Logsdon; a son, Ray Logsdon; a sister and three brothers.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at Ottowa Baptist Church, Rockcastle County, by the Rev. Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Ottowa Cemetery.

ADKINS, Susie E.
STANFORD - Graveside services for Susie Elizabeth Adkins, 91, of Boneyville Road, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
She died Friday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born July 18, 1907, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Dink Houston Falconberry. She was a homemaker and a member of Geneva Baptist Church. She was the widow of William Lonzo Adkins.
Survivors include a son, Paul Adkins of Stanford; a daughter, Mary Helen Murray of Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother, Pete Walls of Stanford; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

ALLEN, Robert T.
WAYNESBURG - Graveside services for Robert Travis Allen, 24, of Eubank, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Allen Cemetery in Clay County by the Rev. Marvin Napier.
He died Tuesday in Eubank after being struck by a train.
Born Feb. 8, 1974, in Hamilton County, Ohio, he was a son of Robert Allen Jr. of Eubank and the late Connie Waller Allen. He was a 1992 graduate of Lincoln County High School.
Other survivors include his sister, Amy Allen of Eubank.

BAKER, Rev. Claire C.
FAIR BLUFF, N.C. - The Rev. Claire C. Baker, 75, of Fair Bluff, died Monday.
He was the son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Howard Baker. He was a Baptist minister for 50 years, having served as pastor in Crab Orchard.
Survivors include his wife, Annabelle Oswalt Baker; two daughters, Claire Sizemore of Greenville, S.C., and Mary Barlow of Kentucky; three sons, Allen Baker of Texas, David Baker of Fair Bluff and Kenneth Baker of Cerro Gordo, N.C.; a sister, Helen Baker of Brandenton, Fla.; two brothers, Jim Baker of Brandenton and Gayle Baker of Lloydsburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Cerro Gordo Baptist Church by the Rev. Tom Collins. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

BAUGHMAN, Smith A.
Services for Smith Adams Baughman, 91, of Spears Lane, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lexington Avenue Baptist Church by the Revs. Quentin Scholtz and Jo Garnett. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
He died Monday at home.
Born July 24, 1907, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Jones A. and Ada Cunningham Baughman. He was a retired farmer and an agent for Kentucky Growers Insurance Co., where he also was director and member of the executive committee. He was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church, a World War II Army veteran, a graduate of Georgetown College, and the widower of Sara Cress Baughman.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca B. Scholtz of Louisville and Margaret D. Scott of Columbus, Md.; and two grandchildren.

BEASLEY, James
MOUNT VERNON -- James Beasley, 53, of Hustonville Street, Stanford, died Friday at his home.
Born March 1, 1946, in Crab Orchard, he was a son of John and Agnes Gibbons Beasley. He was a roofer and a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Humphreys Beasley; three sons, Donald and Jason Beasley, both of Stanford, and James Beasley of Allentown, Pa.; a daughter, Corrina Nadeau of Philadelphia; a brother, Fox E. Beasley of Lexington; a sister, Inez Young of Avon Park, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Wynn Cemetery, Red Hill.

BEGLEY, Arbedella A.
CRAB ORCHARD - Arbedella Susan Adams Begley, 62, of Elm Street, Crab Orchard, died Thursday at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.
Born Dec. 23, 1936, in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Amanda Burton Adams. She was the widow of Walter Arbie Begley, a member of Immanual Baptist Church in Crab Orchard, and a foster parent to 39 children over the years.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan Wilder of Crab Orchard, Laura Cook of Stanford, and Barbara Bennett of Cincinnati; two sons, Robert Begley and William Begley, both of Cincinnati; a sister, Corine Woods of Crab Orchard; two brothers, Harold Adams of Coco, Fla., and Elmer Adams; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and 39 foster children.
Services were 2 p.m. Saturday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Ron Meece and Cecil Roundtree. Burial was in Maretburg Cemetery in Rockcastle County.

BERRY, James C.
STANFORD - James Charlston Berry, 82, of Tallapoosa, Ga., died Wednesday at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Ga.
Born March 3, 1916, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Nora Daugherty Berry. He was a retired regional manager for Devoe Paint Company, a Navy veteran and the widower of Kathryn Johnson Berry.
Survivors include a son, Samuel J. Berry of Carrollton; two brothers, Walter Berry of Berea and Fred Berry of Stanford; three grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery by the Rev. Stewart Dawson.

Mary Margaret Boswell, 80, of Carey Lane, Washington County, died Monday December 15, 2003 at her residence.

Born March 29, 1923 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John and Lou Ada Dye Sherrow. She was the widow of Jake Boswell.

She was a member of the Cornishville Baptist Church, a homemaker and she enjoyed quilting, canning, and cooking.

Survivors include: three sons: Johnny Boswell and Willie Boswell, both of Mackville, and Noble Boswell, McAfee; five daughters, Marie Reynolds, Carolyn Buck, and Mary Lou Henry, all of Mercer County, Sue Shearer, Mackville, and Cleta Boswell, Bartleville, OK; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons Jacob Elwood Boswell and Walter "Tommy" Edwin Boswell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Readnour officiating. Burial will be in Battle Cemetery, Washington County.

BRACKMAN, Emma B.
STANFORD - Emma B. Brown ``Tootie'' Brackman, 73, of Waynesburg, died Thursday at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born August 26, 1924, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Jess and Anna Ernst Brown. She was a clinical lab technician for 35 years and a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Roy C. Brackman; a son, Robert C. Brackman of El Segundo, Calif.; a brother, Edward J. Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Mary L. Manegold of Cincinnati and Millie M. Muchmore of Nicholasville; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Alan C. Brackman.
Services will be noon Monday at St. Sylvester Catholic Church by the Revs. Michael Weiglicki and Gary Story. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

STANFORD - Jesse Frank Bright, 79, of Maxwell Street, died Monday at Fort Logan Hospital. Born July 17, 1917, in Corbin, he was a son of the late Frank and Cora Bright Curtis. He was a private domestic worker and a member of Boneyville Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Roberta Bright; a daughter, Maxine Stevenson of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Jesse Frank Bright II of Lexington; a sister, Doris Holiday of Cincinnati; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. STANFORD - Della Brock, 81, of East Main Street, died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.
She was a homemaker.

BROCK, Ralph T.
WAYNESBURG - Ralph Timon Brock, 63, of Hustonville Road died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Aug. 7, 1934, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Allie and Fannie Saylor Brock. He was a retired farmer and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Ralph Timon Brock Jr. of Waynesburg; a stepdaughter, Tracy Salyers of Kings Mountain; three brothers, Floyd Brock of Halls Gap, Marion Brock of Somerset and Leoford Brock of Waynesburg; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Miracle Temple Church in Waynesburg by the Rev. Marvin Lane. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Halls Gap.

Born May 21, 1925, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Willis and Dora Naylor Brown. He was a farmer and a member of Geneva Community Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Evelyn Naylor Brown; five sons, Johnny M. Brown and Ivan E. Brown, both of McKinney, Eddie D. ``Popcorn''Brown and Randy L. Brown, both of Hustonville, and Jackie D. Brown of Liberty; five daughters, Louise Brown, Edna L. Griffin, Jeanine Moore, Alice M. Carpenter and Peggy A. MOORELAND – Services for Andrew T. “ Bit” Butler, 36, of South Fork Road, Hustonville, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Arthur Selch. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery. He died Wednesday of natural causes. Born June 1, 1962, in Lincoln County, he was the son of Ruth “Pearl” Sims Roberts of Hustonville and the late Tusko Rowland. He was a member of Hustonville Pentecostal Church. MORELAND - Robert Lee Byrd, 65, of Mount Vernon, died Thursday at home.
Born March 31, 1933, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Tom and Lucy Mae Byrd. He was a farmer and a member of Angel Ridge Holy Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include two sons, Simon Byrd of Berea and Bobby Joe Byrd of McKee; three daughters, Ann Ada Hoskins of Orlando, Martha May Renner and Phyllis Polly, both of Mount Vernon; two sisters, Mary Ann Benedict of Stanford and Helen Benedict of Danville; two brothers, Harold Byrd of Parksville and Wilson Byrd of Danville; 14 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She died Saturday at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington.
Born Feb. 18, 1915, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Zora and Maude Dick Smith. She was a homemaker, a member of Double Springs Baptist
Church, Order of Eastern Star 501, Women's Mission Society and Senior Citizens Association. She was a 1932 graduate of McKinney High School and the widow
of Walter Caldwell.
Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Williams of Elizabethtown, Theresa Thompson of Uniontown, Ohio, Susan Whitaker of Marydel, Del., and Carolyn
Gordon of Centerville, Ohio; two sisters, Hattie Chapp of McKinney and Florence Leonard of Detroit, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

STANFORD - Alonzo Robert Castle, 84, of U.S. 27 South, died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born March 9, 1913, in Lincoln County, and was a son of the late Alonzo R. Castle Sr. and Lilly Craig Martin Castle. He was widower of Grace Thompson Castle and was a retired truck driver and farmer. He was a member of Fairview Baptist church and was a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel June Akom Castle; four sons, Robert Lee, Alonzo Craig and William Arthur Castle, all of Stanford, and Jerry Keith Castle of Lancaster; four daughters, Norma Holt of Danville, Thelma Jane Murphy of Crestwood, Ann Watts of Harrodsburg and Jenny Sue Bradley of Stanford; one stepson, Doyt W. Born Oct. 19, 1919, in Wayne County, he was a son of the late Lee A. and Sarah Roy Chumbley. He was a farmer and a member of Waynesburg Church of Christ.

Anna Belle Cole, 89, of Lexington, formerly of Locust Street, Danville, died Sunday at Christian Health Center, Lexington.
Born Sept. 2, 1907, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late John and Nancy Wilder Farmer. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was the widow of Basil Cole.
Survivors include two sons, Basil Cole Jr. and Ronald Lee Cole, both of Lexington; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Ann Cole.

Wanda Jane Snow Coleman, 48, died Thursday, September 11, 2003 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born March 17, 1955 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Tony and Irene Ellison Snow. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: a companion, David Pemberton; three sons, Otis (Janie) Cunningham, Harrodsburg; Thomas Cunningham, Stanford, Carlos (Melinda) Cunningham, Waynesburg; three daughters, Rebecca (Gary) Wilson, Parksville, Elizabeth (Terry) Smith and Lisa Cunningham, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, Darrell (Sharon) Snow, Ravenna, OH; and one sister, Flossie Gregory, Stanford; nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Cunningham and one brother, David Snow.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 13, at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford, with Rev. Harold Best officiating. Burial was in Angel Ridge Cemetery, Lincoln County.

WAYNESBURG - Services for Sherman Combs, 91, of Waynesburg, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by the Rev. Vola Brown. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born June 29, 1907, in Perry County, he was a son of the late Armina Combs. He was a retired sawmill worker, a Kentucky Colonel and the widower of Mary Ann Napier Combs.
Survivors include five sons, Ray Combs of Waynesburg, Dean Combs of Versailles, Gene Combs of Lexington, Gary Combs of Burgin and Doug Combs of Hustonville; eight daughters, Frances Smith of Lexington, Faye McConnell of Delaware, Ohio, Linda McKinney of Danville, Freida Smith of Lancaster, Audrey, Lisa and Sharon Combs, all of Stanford, and Carolyn Petrey of Crab Orchard; 34 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons.

COY, Clyde L.
HARRODSBURG - Clyde Lee Coy, 66, of 388 Runyon Road died Monday at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 16, 1929, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late O.H. Coy and Effie Smock Coy. He was the husband of Lucille Wiley Coy. He was a retired meat department manager at Kroger, where he was employed for 40 years. He was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church, where he was former superintendent of the young people's department and a teacher in the 10-year-old boys department. He served as manager of the Veterans of Foreign Wars' baseball team and on the Boy Scout council. He operated the Coy & Daughtery food booth at the Mercer County Fair & Horse Show for more than 25 years. Additional survivors include three sons, Michael Coy of Chapel Hill, N.C., Larry Coy of Lexington and Jeff Coy of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Sandy Coy Pickett of Harrodsburg; four brothers, Tab Coy of Michigan, Donald Coy of Cincinnati, Charles Coy of Ohio and Alvin Coy of Florida; one sister, Joann Bates of Berea; and seven grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by the Revs. Wallace Carrier and Robert DeFoor. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

DEATHERAGE, Eugene
STANFORD - Eugene Deatherage, 63, of Harmon Heights, died Friday at his home.
Born Nov. 19, 1935, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Clarence and Lela Mae Adams Deatherage. He was the owner of Tel-Star Video in Stanford, member of Willow Grove Baptist Church and VFW American Legion Post 0301. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran in the Korean conflict.
Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Sue Stagg of Danville, Martina D. Tillett of Stanford and Peggy Jo Cutter of Junction City; five brothers, Clarence ``Bug,'' James, Hayes and Foster Deatherage, all of Stanford, and Lester Deatherage of Owensboro; two sisters, Louise Kidd of Stanford and Patty Cromer of Brodhead; and six grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. David Harris. Burial will be in Camp Nelson Cemetery with a military service by Caswell-Saufley Post 18 of Nicholasville.

STANFORD - Ralph Victor Denham, 67, of Morris Lane died Friday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born May 14, 1930, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Anna Lucille Young Denham. Having worked in finance for 30 years, he was a supervisor for First Community Credit in Stanford. He belonged to Green River Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie Denham.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Sowders Denham; two sons, Ralph V. Denham Jr. and William V. Denham, both of Stanford; one daughter, Wynona Michelle Cooper of Stanford; three brothers, Calvin Denham and Mark Denham, both of Stanford and Ron Denham of Danville; three sisters, Louise Bailey of Mount Vernon and Sandra Grant and Betty Jo Long, both of Stanford; and three granchildren.

CRAB ORCHARD - Services for Jasper Thomas Denny, 68, of Neals Creek Road, Stanford, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home chapel by John Spears. Burial will be in the Manuel Family Cemetery on Pine Grove Road.
He died Saturday at Fort Logan Extended Care Hospital.
Born May 14, 1930, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Charles and Delia Rector Denny. He was a farmer and formerly attended the Church of God.

Denny of Stanford; three daughters, Mollie Shelby of Flemingsburg, Clara June Saylor of Brodhead and Edith Fay Barnett of Mount Vernon; eight sisters, Betty Harris of Waynesburg, Ruby Harness of Danville, Willie Mae Caudill and Julie Chamberlain of Jacksonville, Fla., and Eva Jennings, Virginia Reynolds, Evelyn Broughton and Margie Harness, all of Crab Orchard; five brothers, Loles, Joe and Charles Denny Jr., all of Crab Orchard, Brad Denny of West Chester, Ohio, and Ray Denny of Frankfort; and several grandchildren.

CRAB ORCHARD - Ronnie W. Denny, 52, of Hwy. 643, died Tuesday at his home of natural causes.
Born July 13, 1945, in Lincoln County, he was a son of Peyton Denny of Crab Orchard and the late Liza Mullins Denny. He was a farmer and carpenter.

Born Sept. 5, 1958, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of Maedell Snow Taylor of Kings Mountain and the late William A. Taylor. She was a factory worker for 15 years in Sydney, Ohio, and a member of McKinney Christian Church.

STANFORD - Cecil Earl Dishon, 34, of Lancaster Street, died Monday near Hall's Gap of injuries suffered when he was struck by a car.
Born Dec. 15, 1962, in Lincoln County, he was a son of Kenneth E. and Emma Ruth Rowland Dishon of Stanford. He was a welder.

Reliance Electric in Columbus, Ind., and a farmer. He attended Pond Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Georgia B. Faulkner, 89, of Danville died Monday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born Dec. 23, 1908, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nancy L. Helm. She was the widow of Walter Z. Faulkner. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a former senior usher board president, and member of Merry Makers, M&W Club and junior usher board.
Survivors include three daughters, Sylvia B. Kennedy, Rosetta F. Ford and Georgia M. McCowan, all of Danville; eight grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

Born June 3, 1922, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late James and Maggie Fitzgerald. He was a member, deacon, trustee and elder of Second Street Christian Church and was a retired carpenter.

Ricky Eugene Foley, 40, of Stanford, died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital of natural causes.

Gaines Sr. She was a graduate of Stanford High School, Virginia Intermont and University of Kentucky where she played basketball and baseball and was a member and former president of Delta, Delta, Delta society. She was a member of Daughters of American Revolution, Colonial Dames, Historical Society, Eastern Star, Harris Memorial Methodist Church, the garden club and bridge clubs.

Verla M. Roberts Garner, 87, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Crab Orchard, died Friday, September 26, 2003 at the Corondelet Health Network Hospice in Tuscon. Born October 11, 1915 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Georgia Ann Adams Roberts. She was the widow of Charles R. Garner. She was an assembly line worker for Douglas Aircraft and a member of the AJO Baptist Church in Tuscon. Survivors include; two sons, Raymond and Fred Garner, both of Tuscon; two daughters, Margaret Smith and Ruby Howard, both of Salvisa; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Born Aug. 3, 1926, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Georgia Ann Phillips and Joseph R. Hazlett Sr. He was retired from Formica Co. of Cincinnati. He was a member of Emery Lodge #218 F&AM and VFW Post 5749. He was a Marine veteran of World War II.

Earl Foster “Billy Gum” Jenkins, 85, of 105 Baughman Avenue, Danville, died Sunday morning, Aug. 17, 2003 at his home. A native of Lincoln County, he was born May 30, 1918 and was the son of the late Arthur Thomas Jenkins and Myrtle Wall Jenkins. His daughter, Debbie Jenkins Cook, is a reporter for The Harrodsburg Herald. He was a retired employee of Corning Glass Works in Danville and owner of the former Cold Springs Inn restaurant and gift shop at Hall’s Gap. Born Sept. 3, 1932, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of Janie Hayden and was reared by William and Cora Adams. She was a retired Lincoln County teacher, having taught for 32 years. She was the widow of Earl W. Kelsor.

Born Jan. 25, 1909, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late William and Maggie Shearer King. She was a homemaker and a member of Harrodsburg Congregation of Jehovah Witness. She was the widow of Lee Kirkpatrick.

LIBERTY - Estil V. Lucas, 90, of Liberty, died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Lucas' hobby was composing poems. He has written a book, ``Poems of the Hills'' which has been published twice. The poems are about his experiences in life.
Born March 13, 1908, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late William A. and Alice R. Walls Lucas. He was a carpenter and general contractor, a World War II veteran, and a deacon and elder of the First Christian Church. He was the widower of Hazel Wesley Lucas.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Lucas of Hustonville; and a daughter, Clara R. Wiser of Mooresville, Ind.; two sisters, Maude Coleman of Danville and Myrtle Lucas of Louisville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was a retired brick mason, a member of Olive Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Brick Layers Union 118 of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a Mason and Shriner, and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Born March 29, 1906, in Waynesburg, he was a son of the late Curtis and Lela Padget Padgett. He was a draftsman and the widower of Lena Ellison Padgett. He belonged to Pleasant Point Baptist Church and Waynesburg Masonic Lodge No. 328 F&AM. Survivors include two brothers, Peter Padgett of Auburndale, Fla., and Earl Padgett of Cincinnati; and one sister, Lena Mae Oaks of Cincinnati. Sally Pankey, 61, Lakeview Point, Lancaster, died Thursday October 2, 2003 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born October 21, 1941 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Ella Mae Simpson Harris. She was a graduate of the Durham School of Beauty in Danville and served as a beautician for 43 years. She was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. She loved to bowl, had participated in numerous national bowling tournaments and had served as secretary of the Tuesday Morning Coffee League. Survivors include: Her husband, Alford Kyle Pankey, Lancaster; one son: Travis Kyle (Jamie) Pankey, Lancaster; three sisters: Eva Martin and Rosetta Cochran both of Stanford, and Julie Lowis of Taylorsville, IL; six brothers: John Harris, Eddie Harris and Alvin Harris all of Taylorsville, IL, Kirby Harris of Stringtown, IL, Jimmy Harris of Assumption, IL and Ralph Harris of Stanford; and one grandson. Born June 21, 1923, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Dora Naylor Brown. She was a homemaker, a member of Green River Pentecostal Church, and the widow of Emerson Burl Privette.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruby Maye Maples of Lancaster, Bernice Privette of Hustonville and Brenda Sue Pittman of Middleburg; two sisters, Emma King of Hustonville and Katherine Owens of Stanford; four brothers, Wesley Brown and Vernon Brown, both of Hustonville, and Ernest Brown and J.T. Brown, both of Ottenheim; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Green River Pentecostal Church by the Revs. Rick Naylor and Gary Yocum.

LOVELAND, Ohio - Willie Marie Dunaway Potts, 75, of Milford, Ohio, died there July 28. Born Sept. 19, 1920, in Stanford, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Allene Marie Boone Dunaway. She was an inspector with RCA Manufacturing and the widow of Luther Potts. Survivors include four daughters, Norma Richardson and Linda Ward, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, Betty Huddleston of Chicago and Charity Vasquez of Texas; a son, Forrest Potts of Cincinnati; a brother, Russell Dunaway of Stanford; three sisters, Lillie Gooch of Stanford, and Margaret Grider and Doris Bottom, both of Danville; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Services were held July 31 at Branch Hill Baptist Church, Branch Hill, Ohio. Burial was in Graceland Memorial Gardens. Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

STANFORD - Services for Audrey D. Ray, 69, of Logans Trace, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Moriah Christian Church by Rob Cox and John Lowry. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
She died Friday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington.
Born May 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Delmar and Victoria Miracle Young. She was a former licensed practical nurse and belonged to Mount Moriah Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Ray of Stanford and Barry Ray of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two daughters, Connie Ray of Crab Orchard and Peggy Minshall of Tracy City, Tenn.; two brothers, Don and Roy Young, both of Stanford; two sisters, Gladys Young of Stanford and Winona Herrington of Crab Orchard; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She died Thursday at Pine Meadows Health Care, Lexington. Born May 16, 1908, she was a native of Mount Vernon and the daughter of the late James and Rebecca Bussell.
She retired after 38 years with Palm Beach Manufacturing in Danville and was an active member of the AFL-CIO Garment Workers Union. She was a member of Stanford Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher for 35-40 years. She operated an ice cream shop on Main Street in Stanford in the 1930s.
Survivors include her husband, Holton Lewis Reed of Lexington; two sons, Marvin L. Reed of Lexington and Wallace D. Reed of Athens, Ga.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

CRAB ORCHARD - Sylvia J. Thompson Reynolds, 88, of Stanford, died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born Aug. 29, 1910, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late William and Ida Brown Thompson. She was a homemaker and the widow of Brad Reynolds.

CRAB ORCHARD - Silvin Robinson Jr., 53, of Richmond, Ind., formerly of Lincoln County, died Thursday in Dayton, Ohio.
Born May 16, 1945, in Lincoln County, he was a son of Silvin and Ruth VanWinkle Robinson of Richmond, Ind. He was a member of Revina Park Baptist Church, and an Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He also was a furniture and cabinet builder.

Born Dec. 11, 1919, in Waynesburg, he was a son of the late James F. and America Ann Boggs Stamper. He was a member, deacon, and Sunday School teacher of Monticello First Baptist Church. He was a member of Monticello Camp of Gideons and was a veteran of World War II.

He died Thursday at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
Born Feb. 13, 1929, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Willie and Georgia Stewart. He was an employee of Fort Logan Hospital and a member of Boneyville Baptist Church where he was a past president of Sunday School and the Baptist Training Union (BTU). In addition, he was a past moderator of the South District Association.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Stewart; one daughter, Shirley A. Thomas of Winchester; one son, William Cedric Stewart of Murrieta, Calif. and three sisters, Margaret Stewart Beasley, Emma Stewart Gooch and Mary E. Penman, all of Stanford.

STUTZ, Donna J.
TRUMANSBURG, N.Y. - Donna J. Stutz, 44, of Trumansburg, died Tuesday at the Hospicare Residence here after a brief illness.
Born Sept, 17, 1953, in Stanford, she was a daughter of Elsie and Henry Lucas of Trumansburg and Mack and Evellene Godbey of Stanford. She resided in Las Vegas, Nev., for several years and had been employed by Target Department Stores.
Additional survivors are a son, Kevin Tillett of Las Vegas; a daughter, Amanda Sue Stutz of Trumansburg; four brothers, David Godbey of Trumansburg, Paul Lucas of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Jack and Tony Godbey, both of Stanford; and four sisters, Diane Sneed of Austin, Texas, Barbara Lyles of Temple, Texas, and Lisa and Tammy Godbey of Stanford.
Private services were held today by the Rev. James Geuder. Burial in Grove Cemetery will be held later.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Kammerer of Indianapolis; a sister, Stella Crews of Arizona; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Heichelbech, and a son, Gerald Westerfield.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery

WILBURN, Betty S.
CRAB ORCHARD - Betty Jane Shelton Wilburn, 57, of Ky. 39 South, died Sunday at home of complications of lung and brain cancer.
Born Aug. 23, 1940 in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of Catherine Payne Shelton of Crab Orchard and the late James Shelton. She was a member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church and a former employee of Whirlpool in Danville.
Other survivors include her husband, Jimmy Wilburn; a son, Danny Wilburn of Crab Orchard; a daughter, Elaine Kidwell of Crab Orchard; four sisters, Ruby Owens and Mary Singleton, both of Crab Orchard and Elizabeth Manning and Dale Julian, both of Stanford; seven brothers, Johnny, Ray, Bill, Tea, Truman, David and Ed Shelton, all of Crab Orchard; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Mark Shelton. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

YOCUM, Ellis G.
MORELAND - Services for Ellis Gene Yocum, 52, of Stanford, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Revs. Dorotha Grider and Vernon Smith. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford.
He died Wednesday at his home.

YOUNG, James G. Sr.
MORELAND - James Gary Young Sr., 50, of Stanford, died Tuesday at home of natural causes.
Born June 1, 1947, in Stanford, he was a son of James H. Young of Stanford and the late Ruby Harris Young. He was a barber.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Wade of Danville; a son, James G. Young Jr. of Stanford; a sister, Linda Pruitt of Stanford; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne Watts. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Lincoln County.
