STANFORD,  Francis Marie Allen, 68, of Darst Street, Stanford, died Tuesday, July 1, 2003 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.  Born February 23, 1935 in Rockcastle County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur C. Allen and Smarie Ann Kidd. She was a homemaker and a member of Jesus Church House of Prayer.   Survivors include: two sons, Charles Reagan of Harrodsburg and Larry Allen Sr. of Stanford; five brothers, Joe and Raymond Kidd, both of Stanford, James Kidd of Waynesburg, Sherman Jones of La Grange and Bobby Jones of Georgetown; four sisters, Rosie Swope of Lancaster, Dalphine Cherry of Charlestown, Ind., Donna Blanton of Crab Orchard, and Faye Kidd of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step grandchildren. Services were conducted Friday, July 4, at Fox Funeral Home, Stanford, by Donnie Irvin. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rodney, Anthony and Patrick Reagan, Joey and Mike Cherry, and Jesse Denney. Honorary pallbearers were Scottie Kidd, Jeffrey Blanton, Jimmy Barker Jr., Raymond Garris, James Barnett and Jeremy Hood.

Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.He died Sunday at home.Born Jan. 7, 1918, in Atwood, he was a son of the late Omar B. and Nellie Tanner Armstrong. He was a retired supervisor and foreman for Ford Motor Company, Cincinnati, and a member of Somerset Seventh Day Adventist Church.Survivors include his wife, Ruth J. Poole Armstrong; two sons, Robert E. Armstrong of Batavia, Ohio, and Jan A. McKenzie of Crab Orchard; three daughters, Josephine C. Roberts of St. Cloud, Fla., Darla J. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.He died Sunday at Fort Logan Hospital.Born March 10, 1926, in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late Quincy and Ellen Ashley Baugh. He was a farm worker and a member of Redemption Road Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Adams Reynolds Baugh; former wives, Verna Young Baugh and Audrey Baugh, both of Waynesburg; two sons, Randall Baugh, Waynesburg and Delmer Baugh, Lexington; two stepsons, Donnie Reynolds, Kings Mountain and Tony Reynolds, Harrodsburg; two brothers, Hollis Baugh, Reading, Ohio, and Ivan Baugh, Somerset; two sisters, Merlie Pence, Eubank and Velma Blackburn, Ferguson; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a wife, Mildred Baugh.

BELCHER, Pearl Todd, 93, Harness Ridge Road, Crab Orchard, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford. Born Feb. 5, 1908, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late William and Effie Bastin Todd. She was a farmer and homemaker. Survivors include a son, Ben Belcher, Berea; two daughters, Cynthia Belcher Harrison, Louisville, and Edna Faye Belcher Howell, Somerset; two brothers, Lois Todd, Waynesburg, and Lester Todd, Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Whitt Belcher; her parents; a son, Whitt Belcher Jr.; a daughter, Essie Lee Belcher Jackson; five brothers, Bernie, Stanley, Leslie, Leonard and Homer Todd; and three sisters, Ethel Bowman, Edna Todd Belcher and Marie Todd Wren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 9, at New Hope Church of God with Bro. Cecil Roundtree officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

CRAB ORCHARD - Chester Marvin Benge, 57, 725 Hwy. 618 West, died Thursday at his mother's home from an apparent heart attack during his sleep.Born Aug. 31, 1939, in Crab Orchard, he was the son of Nellie McClure Benge of Crab Orchard and the late Homer Edward Benge. He had attended Mount Zion Church of Christ. He was a former employee of the maintenance division of pressure washers. He also was an Air Force veteran.Additional survivors are a son, Gregory Allen Benge of Danville; two daughters, Debbie Wilburn and Sandra Gail Duff, both of Stanford; a brother, Danny Benge of Crab Orchard; two sisters, Glenda Ferrell of Crab Orchard and Jeannie Smith of Eubank; a special friend, Carol Pittman of Crab Orchard, and eight grandchildren.Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson and Cecil Roundtree. Burial with military rites by Caswell Saufley American Legion Post 18, Stanford, will be at Mount Zion Church of Christ Cemetery on Ky. 39, south.

CRAB ORCHARD - Services for Nellie McClure Benge, 86, of Ky. 39 South, will be 2 p.m. Friday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Ernie Arnold. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.
She died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born May 28, 1913, in Rockcastle County, she was a daughter of William Green and Mattie Harper McClure. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ. She was the widow of Homer Edward Benge.
Survivors include a son, Danny Benge of Crab Orchard; two daughters, Glenda Ferrell of Crab Orchard and Jeannie Smith of Brodhead; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Harold, Virgil and Marvin Benge.

STANFORD - Sallie Marshall Bertram, 91, of Harmon Heights died Saturday at Stanford House Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 11, 1905, in Jefferson County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Martha Hutchinson Marshall. She was a homemaker and a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, Liberty. She was the widow of George B. Bertram Sr.
Survivors include two sons, George Bertram Jr. of Stanford and Ray Bertram of London; two daughters, Martha Dean of Stanford and Jo Benton of Nicholasville; a halfbrother, Alvin Edward of Louisville; a halfsister, Lizzie Mae Miller of Louisville; 23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Bill, Carl L. and Joel Curtis Bertram; and a daughter, Louise Jones McBrayer.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home by the Revs. David McFarland and Dale Denton. STANFORD - Lincoln County civic and political leader Leonard B. Boone, 95, of Danville Avenue died Monday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Boone served as Lincoln County judge from 1966 to 1970. He also served three terms on the Stanford City Council and served on the Stanford School Board.Stanford attorney Cabell D. Francis Sr., recalled that Boone performed the duties of county judge very well. At the time he was county judge the position involved carrying out duties similar to those now handled by district judges. ``Mr. Boone was a fine Christian man. When he was judge he decided cases according to what was right and wrong. He didn't fudge one bit. He also did a lot to improve the roads in the county and he kept peace on the fiscal court,'' said Francis.Retired district judge Marvin Cornett echoed Francis' assessment of Boone.``He was always a fair man and very pleasant to work with,'' Cornett said. ``In those days he tried misdemeanors and had nearly the same duties as the district judge has now.''Born Nov. 22, 1901, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late James H. and Margaret Bastin Boone. He had been co-owner of Boone and Cave Clothing Store. He was a member of Stanford Christian Church where he had served as elder, Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent.He was a member of County Judges Association of Kentucky and was district president. While on Stanford City Council, he helped to promote a new city lake and water system. He also was instrumental in the organization of the Stanford-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce and served a term as vice president. He was a mason, past member of Lincoln Masonic Lodge No. 60, F&AM, and member and past president of the Rotary Club.He was the widower of Christine Brown Boone.Survivors include two daughters, Sara Lynn Cave of Stanford, and Teresa Balough of Old Lyme, Conn.; a sister, Bess B. Gooch of Louisville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery by the Rev. Tim Boschen.

She was the widow of Leroy ``Bud Peek'' Brown.Survivors include three sons, William Brown of Burlington, N.C., Calvin K. Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Kenny Brown of Arizona; a stepdaughter, Cynthia Bigbee of Indianapolis, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Kim Brown, Elyas Brown, Darryl Brown, Dexter Gooch, Robin Brown, Keith Brown and Kelvin Givens. Born Feb. 8, 1941, in Danville, she was a daughter of Samuel E. Miller and the late Marjorie Cohen. She was the widow of James E. Bryant.
Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl R. Moncure of Kannapolis, N.C.; and three step-sisters, Janet Howard of Forest Park, Ohio, Patricia Johnson of St. Louis, and Linda Bunton of Louisville.

CRAB ORCHARD - Eddie Bailey Burch, 93, of Lancaster Street died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital, Stanford.
Born April 2, 1903 in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Jr. and Phoebe Wilson Bailey. She was a homemaker and the widow of Frank Burch. At the time of her death she held the longest membership of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. She was also a former member of Crab Orchard Homemakers Group.Survivors include a daughter, Lillian Burch Shelton of Crab Orchard; two grandsons; and four great-grandsons.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crab Orchard Baptist Church by the Revs. Mark Shelton and Norman Young. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Charles Estes, Junior Renner and deacons of Crab Orchard Baptist Church.

She was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church. He was an employee of Jackson of Danville, where he worked for 32 years, and a member of Junction City Church of God. Survivors include two sons, Louis Coffman of Stanford and James Coffman of Perryville; two sisters, Flora Hardin of Junction City and Margie Miller of Danville; two brothers, Lonnie Coffman of Junction City and Dallas Coffman of Danville; and four grandchildren. Grover Cecil “Nick”Combs , 81, of Stanford ,died Thursday at Fort Logan Hospital. Born April 13, 1921, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Leonard and Viola Kayes Combs. He was an agent and driver for American Red Ball Transit Co., and American Van Lines. He was a member of Harris Memorial United Methodist Church and the widower of Marie Brown Combs. Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Combs James of Stanford and Wanda Combs Hemphill of Cumming, Ga.; a a sister, Zora Blankenship of Virginia; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Spurlin Funeral Home by Jerry Beck and Johnny Adamson. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terrill Wayne, Gary Padgett, Michael Poynter, Billy Moberly, Pat Sanders and Buddy Burton. Harry Crawford 84, formerly of Lincoln County, passed away in London, June 9.  He was preceded in death by his wife Lucinda Hoskins Crawford in 1986.  He was the son of the late George F. Crawford and Susie Maupin Crawford.  He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Howard (Gertrude) Barker of Bowling Green, Mrs. Donald (Dorothy) Skaggs of Fairborn, OH., and Mrs. James (Effie) Hazelbaker of Danville and one brother, Delbert Crawford of Stanford.  Funeral services were held at House-Rawlings Funeral Home.  Burial was in Hoskins Cemetery in Laurel County.  (SS Index lists Harry F. CRAB ORCHARD - Services for Lonnie Gaither, 75, of Finns Lane, will be 8 p.m. today at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, Ottenheim, by the Rev. Mike Weglicki. He died Saturday at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.Born Nov. 25, 1922, in Louisville, he was a son of the late Lonnie and Tabitha Skaggs Gaither. He was a Navy Seabee having served during World War II. He retired after over 50 years as a sheet metal journeyman. He was also head international business agent, organizer, representative and chief assistant under the Sheet Metal Journeyman union president. Near the end of his career he was a special project consultant for the United States Nuclear Power Plant System, and for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Corp.
Survivors include his wife, Rosella Naylor Gaither; a daughter, Karen S. Orwick of Louisville; a stepdaughter, Theresa Fletcher of Silver Springs, Md.; three sons, John L. Gaither, Mark J. Gaither and Daniel P. Gaither, all of Louisville; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Clara M. McGiveney.Visitation is 6-9 p.m. Monday at the church. Also, a visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, Louisville. Goggin and Elsie Morris Goggin.  He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church, Kentucky Beef Cattle Association, past treasurer Lincoln County Livestock Improvement Association, a recipient of the Clay Davis Jr. Award for outstanding contribution to the Lincoln County Feeder Association in 1981.  He was the widower of Jessie Lawson Goggin.  Survivors include a brother, Robert Goggin, Lexington; one sister, Mrs. James (Margaret) Ashley, Crestview, FL.; two uncles, Roger Morris, Burlington, NC., and E. Born Sept. 20, 1909, in Lincoln County, he was a son of William and Emily Rebecca Harp Goode. He was a retired farmer and a member of Hustonville Baptist Church. He was the widower of Nellie Simpson Goode.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Sears Goode, two sons, Ronald Goode of Hustonville and James Goode, both of Shelbyville; two daughters, Lucille Vanoy of Hustonville and Pauline Hopkins of Lancaster; a daughter-in-law who was his caregiver, Barbara Goode; two sisters, Ethel Bunch of Springfield and Edith Flint of Louisville; a brother, Hubert Goode of Taylorsville; 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

HARNESS, James Franklin; 48, of 177 Shannon Parkway, Nicholasville, former Crab Orchard mayor, died June 11 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.  A native of Lincoln County, he was born May 5, 1942 to the late William Bradford and Georgia Smith harness.  He had been employed by Gulf State Newspaper Co., Nicholasville for 18 years and had been a shipping and receiving supervisor there.  He served as Crab Orchard’s mayor for several years and also as chief of police.  He was a founder and president of the East End Ambulance Service, a member of Crab Orchard Masonic Lodge #636, a member of Oleika Temple, and a member of the University Heights Church of Lexington.  Survivors include his wife, Mildred Smith Harness; a son, Michel Donovan Harness, Nicholasville; two daughters, Kriste Dawn Harness and Kathy Ranae Harness, both of Nicholasville; two brothers, David Eugene Harness and Richard Keith Harness, both of Crab Orchard; three sisters, Anna L. Ledford of Cincinnati, Nona Griffin of Crab Orchard and Arlene H. Foster of Somerset.  Funeral services were held Thursday at the Martin Funeral Home by Gerald Marc Nations and Thaddus Eubank.  Burial was in the family cemetery.  Pallbearers were Jaro Albright, Arthur Henry, Gerald Cobb, Bobby Lowry, Raymond Caudwell and Ed Taylor.  Honorary pallbearers were Harmon Smith, Richard Harmon Smith, Willard “Junior” Ledford, Johnny Mize, Bob Heasley, Paul Seigel and Johnny Harness.                                                                  (Interior Journal)

A 1924 graduate of Berea College, he was a 1932 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and was a member of Delta Sigma Delta. He had been on the medical staff of Fort Logan Hospital and was past president of the Bluegrass Dental Society. He was a life member of the American Dental Association and served 12 years as a member of the Lincoln County Board of Health.He was a charter member of the Stanford Lions Club, and was a former member of the Central Kentucky Orchid Society.Born June 12, 1901, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late John Richard Jennings and Nanny Asher Jennings. He was a member of the Harris Memorial United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Cathryn B. Jennings.He is survived by a niece, Agnes Jennings Loftin of Newport News, Va.; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.

McWHORTER,  Jack, 64, Highway 1247, Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, October 11th, 2003 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.  He was born May 28th, 1939 in Lincoln County, Kentucky a son of the late Jettie McWhorter and Clyda Alma Austin McWhorter. He was a carpenter and attended Locust Grove Baptist Church.

   He is survived by his wife; Lee Bastin McWhorter, whom he married on May 23rd, 1997 in Lincoln County, Kentucky: one son; Jeff (and Jennie) McWhorter, Kings Mountain, Kentucky: one stepson; Jeff (and Pam) Stith, Danville, Kentucky: 2 brothers; Ronald (and Bonnie) McWhorter and Earl Dean (and Lucille) McWhorter, both of New Salem in Lincoln County, Kentucky:3 sisters; Barbara (and Bill) Walls, Stamford, Kentucky, Bonnie (and Bernard) Ray, Lancaster, Kentucky and Donna (and Raleigh) VonLinger, Moreland, Kentucky: two grandchildren; Chase and Katelyn: two step grandchildren; Trent and Emma:11 nieces and nephews.

She was a lifelong member of Stanford Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for 35 years and was a member of Logan-Whitley Daughters of the American Revolution.

New, both of Newport, Kentucky; one step-daughter, Rhonda Jones, at home, one brother, Vernon New, Route 2, Waynesburg; and sister Mary Held, Cincinnati, Ohio.  One brother, Howard New, preceded him in death.  He was retired from General Motors, member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church and a Korean Conflict veteran.  Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Chapel of the Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home, with Rev. Vola Brown officiating.  Burial was in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.  Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

STANFORD - Lela M. Bastin Oliver, 81, of Greenwood, Ind., died Friday at Todd Akin Health Center in Franklin, Ind.
Born Oct. 26, 1915, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late James Franklin and Lula J. Reed Bastin. She was retired from Detroit Diesel-Allison Plant #3, where she was a milling machine operator. She also had worked at the George Washington High School cafeteria in Greenwood. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace M. Oliver.
Survivors include one brother, Kennely J. Bastin of Ninevah, Ind.; and two sisters, Anna Faye Eakle of Ninevah and Shelby Jean Abner of Greenwood.
Services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at New Salem Baptist Church by Revs. Archie Oliver and Bobby Estes. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.

WAYNESBURG - The funeral for Harold C. Owens, 73, U.S. 27 South, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by the Rev. C.E. Jacobs. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.
He died Thursday at Friendship Nursing Home, Danville.
Born Feb. 28, 1923, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late John F. and Sallie Elam Owens. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He belonged to Double Springs Baptist Church and Waynesburg Masonic Lodge No. 328.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Stamper Owens; two sons, Harold Randy Owens of Boza, Ala., and Gary L.Owens of Danville; a half brother, John William Owens of West Chester, Ohio; a stepmother, Maggie Fleming of Crab Orchard; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Michael Reynolds, Shannon Reynolds, Mark, Mike and David Hardwick and James Tarter.

CRAB ORCHARD - Viola Brooks Palo, 87, Crab Orchard, died Tuesday at Charleston Healthcare Center, Danville.
Born July 18, 1909, in Rockcastle County, she was a daughter of the late Richard Emmitt and Mattie Turner Brooks. She was a retired employee of Chrysler Automotive Corp. and a member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jacob E. Palo.
Survivors include a son, Richard L. Garner, Crab Orchard, and a sister, Mae King, Lexington. She was preceded in death by a son, Arnold A. Garner.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

MORELAND - Michael Duane Payton, 33, of Bowen Road, Stanford, died as a result of drowning Saturday while swimming in Lake Cumberland in Clinton County.
Born June 10, 1965, in Danville, he was a son of Connie Barber of Hustonville the late Michael Payton. He was director of West Lincoln County Emergency Medical Service for 14 years, director of Boyle County EMS for four years and Jessamine County EMS assistant director for seven years. He was a recipient of the John L. Dunavant Award, and was a paramedic EMT instructor and was commissioner of Lincoln County Enhanced 911. He was captain of Lincoln County Fire Department Station 7, a Lincoln County constable, a member of Masonic Lodge 184, Hustonville, and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of Moreland First Baptist Church.
Other survivors include his grandmother, Peachie Stephenson of Hustonville; three sisters, Michelle Adams of Lancaster, Shannon Redd of Nicholasville and Gina Barber of Hustonville.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Moreland First Baptist Church by the Rev. Glen Johnson. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William Jeffries, Robert Gisler, Robert Hicks, Tony Wilder, Jim Reed and Jim Castano.

STANFORD - Earl Clinton Powers, 71, of Neals Creek Road, died Friday at home.
Born Oct. 17, 1927, in Clintwood, Va., he was a son of the late H.B. and Barbara Powers. He was a retired U.S. Army platoon sergeant and employee of White Swan Food Co., Austin, Texas. He was a member of First Church of God, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Martha V. Leach Powers; a son, Marshell Powers of Acworth, Ga.; a daughter, Marty Ann Canterbury of Bradenton, Fla.; three brothers, Joseph Powers of Virginia, Frank Powers of Clintwood and Jimmy Powers of Abbington, Va.; four sisters, Lena Dotson, Dosha Mullins and Norma Large, all of Clintwood, and Reba Hayes of Wise, Va.; and three grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Jo Severance, Crab Orchard; three brothers, Gaines and Hobart Price, both of Crab Orchard, and Carlos Price, Lancaster; two sisters, Jewel Lunsford and Ina Peel, both of Crab Orchard; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Born May 10, 1933, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Ila Hunter Price. She was an employee of Wal-Mart in Stanford where she worked for eight years. She was a member of Crab Orchard Christian Church and Christian Ladies Fellowship Group. She was a primary Sunday School teacher for 40 years.
Survivors include a sister, Ida Lee Farmer, Crab Orchard, and two brothers, Lowell Price of Cincinnati and Wayne Price of Crab Orchard.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Rex Dunning. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

MORELAND - Mamie Brown Privette, 73, of Hustonville died Friday at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
Born June 21, 1923, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Dora Naylor Brown. She was a homemaker, a member of Green River Pentecostal Church, and the widow of Emerson Burl Privette.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruby Maye Maples of Lancaster, Bernice Privette of Hustonville and Brenda Sue Pittman of Middleburg; two sisters, Emma King of Hustonville and Katherine Owens of Stanford; four brothers, Wesley Brown and Vernon Brown, both of Hustonville, and Ernest Brown and J.T. Brown, both of Ottenheim; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Green River Pentecostal Church by the Revs. Rick Naylor and Gary Yocum.
Pallbearers will be Toby Maples, Ronnie Maples, Ronald Maples, Billy Berry, Link Marlow and Johnny Brown.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the church. W.L. Prewitt Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, William Evos Reynolds; two sons, Carlos Lynn Reynolds of Lake Harbor, Fla., and Jackie Dean Reynolds of Shelbyville, Tenn.; two daughters, Patricia G. Whitaker of Paris and Dee R. Deming of Louisville; a sister, Dorothy Moore of Danville; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

At retirement, he was head of Lockheed-Marietta's Design Change Board, Marietta, Ga. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was the widower of Elizabeth Newell Riffe. Survivors include a son, William Joseph ``Bill'' Riffe, Morehead City, N.C., five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Pruit Funeral Home by the Rev. Norman Hagley. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery. Pallbearers are Herbert Acton, Bill Edmiston, E.G. Survivors include three daughters, Marlene R. Hensley of Bowdoinham, Maine; Nicki C. Bastin and Lana D. Richey, both of Stanford; a brother, Charles R. Tapp of Stanford; a sister, Marcelene Tedesco of Sanford, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Y. Robbins.

Born Nov. 23, 1915, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late William and Maggie Green. She was an employee of the Ben Gaines family, a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Pansy Social Club, usher board, missionary society, and served as pastor's aide. She was the widow of Lucian James Stewart.
Survivors include three daughters, Yvonne Campbell, Lexington, Anna Stewart Butler, Frankfort, and Norma Dedinger, Dayton; a sister, Ocie Carson, Stanford; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

WAYNESBURG -- Frank E. Stimetz, 65, of Ross, Ohio, died Sunday at his home.

Born June 12, 1937, in Indian Creek, he was the son of the late George  and Dora Rowan Stimetz. He was head custodian for the Ross school district for  18 years before retiring in 1997.     Survivors include three daughters, Dana Diedrichs of Morgan Township,Ohio,Lisa DeLong of Hamilton, Ohio, and Carina Vickers of Ross; a son, Frank E. Stimetz Jr. of Hamilton; a brother, Noble Stimetz of Hamilton; a sister,Ursula Stimetz of Hamilton; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services were today at Charles Young Funeral Home in Ross. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg.

of God and was an Army veteran. He had worked at the Bluegrass Army Depot and was the widower of Virginia Alice Taylor.

Born Aug. 22, 1906, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late David and Jael Thompson. She was a retired teacher at Toliver Elementary School where she taught for 40 years. She attended Georgetown College, was a Centre College graduate and did graduate work at Peabody College and University of Kentucky. She was a charter member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include several cousins, including Dorothy Renfro of Danville.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bellevue Cemetery by the Rev. Jo Garnett.
There will be no visitation.

He died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 6, 1914, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Walter and Annie Pence Walker. He was a retired teacher for Kentucky School for the Deaf where he taught for many years. He was a graduate of Centre College and Gallaudet College. He was a member of Harris Memorial United Methodist Church and a War World II Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Bright Walker; and a sister, Isabelle Walker of Stanford. He was preceded in death by a son, Archibald Walker Jr.; and a daughter, Marjorie Woods Walker.
Pallbearers will be Edwin and Thomas Walker, Jeff Ralston, Billy Fox, Bill Hendrix, Ronnie Gilbert, Denny Steineker and Richard Cooper.

Elizabeth Warren, 83, of 194A Daisy Ct., died Sunday, April 4, 1999 at Haggin Memorial Hospital. Born June 24, 1915 in Stanford, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel Garfield and Nora Elizabeth Mason Powell. She was the widow of Herbert Ellis Warren.

She was a retired clerk for Hub Frankel in Danville and was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.  Survivors include: one son, Robert Warren, Salvisa; one daughter, Peggy Roark, Harrodsburg; two brothers, Logan and Henry Powell, both of Nicholasville; one sister, Dorothy Powell, Nicholasville; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday April 6 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Robert DeFoor and Eddie Russell officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery.      Pallbearers were Keith Warren, John Todd Warren, Eddie Burton, Danny Watts, Kristopher Meyer, Gary Lee Winchester, David McKee, Jorg Potts and Richard Green. Honorary bearers were Sharon Meyer, Teri Colvin, Dotie Burton, and Susan McKee.

STANFORD -- Services for James Clifford Watson, 76, of Junction City will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. 
David Fralix.Burial will be in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites.
He died Monday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.Born Aug. 13, 1926, in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the son of the late
Theodore Watson and Myrtie Terry Watson Duvall. He was a retired employee of Allison Aircraft Engine Manufacturing Co. in 
Indianapolis and a member of New Salem Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater, 
and was the widower of Frances Bastin Watson 
Survivors include three daughters, Vivian Lane of Cumberland, Ind., and Susann Fletcher and Cliffonda Skeens, both of Junction City;

STANFORD -- Services for Josephine Bodner Williams, 77, of Redwood Drive, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harris Memorial 
United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jerry Beck. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. 
She died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.  
Born Oct. 9, 1921, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Rice Bodner. She was a homemaker and a 
member of Harris Memorial United Methodist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution, Logan-Whitley Chapter. She was
 co-chair of the Lincoln County Republican Party for over 20 years and attended Centre College. She was the widow of James W. Williams Jr. 
Survivors include a son, James W. Williams III of Stanford; three daughters, Lynda Closson of Stanford and Barbara W. Wright and 
Cynthia R. Williams, both of Louisville; three brothers, Jack Bodner of Pauley's Island, S.C., Buddy Bodner of Danville and Bobby 
Bodner of Crab Orchard; a sister, Vi Campbell of Danville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 
Pallbearers will be Hank Wright, Freddie and Skip Closson, Steve Campbell, Harry Bodner Jr., Michael Bodner, Bobby Bodner Jr. 
and Benji Bodner.

STANFORD - Allabell Holtzclaw Williams, 81, Hustonville Road, died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital. 
Born June 6, 1915, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Faye Noland Holtzclaw. She was a retired 
school teacher, having taught for 30 years, and a member of Harris Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a 1933 
graduate of McKinney High School and a 1938 graduate of University of Kentucky. She was the widow of John A. Williams. 
Survivors include a son, Dr. Hugh S. Williams of Smithfield; two sisters, Jewell Sandidge of Stone Mountain, Ga., and 
Marcella Koppius of Birmingham, Ala.; and two grandchildren. 
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Beck. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. 
Nephews will be active pallbearers. The Elsie Butcher Sunday School Class serve as honorary pallbearers.

MORELAND - William Frank Wray, 58, of Bowen Road, Stanford, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville after an illness.
Born July 4, 1938, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Ira and Ethel Coffman Wray. He was a construction worker, a farmer and was a Methodist. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Griffitts Wray; a son, William Scott Wray of Stanford; three brothers, Leonard, Lawrence and Wayne Wray, all of Stanford; two sisters, Elsie Wilson of Mitchellsburg and Bobbie Jean Matherly of Junction City; and a granddaughter.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Morris McCawley. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Iva Hensley Young, 84, of Cincinnati, died Feb. 11 at her home.
Born Aug. 29, 1914, in Highland, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Cora Hensley. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Young; two daughters, Shirley Greber of Cincinnati and Helen Hays of Mount Orab, Ohio; a son, Maynard Miracle of Garden City, Mo.; a brother, Jerry Hensley of Oklawaha, Fla.; four sisters, Selma Young of Morrow, Ohio, Jessie True of Nicholasville, Dillie Blough of Belleview, Fla., and Cora Morgan of Stanford; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday at Vorhis Funeral Home, Norwood, Ohio, by the Rev. Paul McCullough. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery.
