MIDDLETOWN, OH – Dorothy M. “Dottie” Adkins, 63, of Franklin, died Monday, Feb 9, 2004, at Middletown Regional Hospital.

She was born in Stanford, Lincoln County, Ky., on August 27, 1940 and had lived in this area for 40 years. Mrs. Adkins was a homemaker. She had also worked at the Manchester Inn, Frisch’s and at the Meijer’s Store. She was a member of the Berear Baptist Church in Monroe and Women of the Moose Lodge 183.

 Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Stella Leece; a nephew, Robert Wooten; and her stepfather, Charles DeNeene.

  She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Paul H. Adkins of Franklin; two sons, Frank Martin (Eriko) Plumbo of Columbus, Ind., and Thomas Plumbo of Middletown; two sisters, Joyce (Frank) Scribner of Greenville, S. C., and Jewell (Ronnie) Wooten of Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services are set for Thursday, Feb 12, at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home in Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery and Crematory.

STANFORD - Graveside services for Susie Elizabeth Adkins, 91, of Boneyville Road, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
She died Friday at Fort Logan Hospital.Born July 18, 1907, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Dink Houston Falconberry. She was a homemaker and a member of Geneva Baptist Church. She was the widow of William Lonzo Adkins.Survivors include a son, Paul Adkins of Stanford; a daughter, Mary Helen Murray of Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother, Pete Walls of Stanford; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Earl, Keith, Jeff, Billy, Jamie and Wayne Adkins.There will be no visitation. Fox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

WAYNESBURG - James Richard ``Dick'' Banks, 85, of Sharon Lane, died Saturday at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home, Somerset.
Born Dec. 6, 1912, in Connersville, Ind., he was a son of the late John G. and Mabel Rose Banks. He was a retired 35-year superintendent for Hoosier Engineering, Columbus, Ohio, and a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Ida M. Baker Banks; a son, Elvin Howard of Greenfield, Ind.; four daughters, Lucy Hubbard of Kings Mountain, Loretta Williams of Somerset, Annette Brumfield of Swansboro, N.C., and Jeanie Goodling of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Robert Banks of Brooksville, Ind.; a sister, Minnie Walters of Brooksville; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alene Sullivan.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home by the Revs. John Silvers and Vola Brown. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.

STANFORD - Anna J. Barnett, 58, of Maywood subdivision, died Wednesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born Dec. 12, 1941, in Wayne County, she was a daughter of the late Walter S. and Dorothy Doss Lowe. She was a member of Green River Pentecostal Church and past president and member of American Legion Auxiliary 345. She was a former employee of Cowden's Manufacturing and Cree-Mee restaurant.
Survivors include her husband, Jessie Barnett; two sons, Jim Rogers of Stanford and Jessie Barnett Jr. of Shelbyville; six daughters, Jessica Barnett of Stanford, Sue Ann Miller of Crawfordsville, Ind., Betty J. Bastin of Casey County, Vicki A. Goode of St. Petersburg, Fla., Donna S. Henry of Tacoma, Wash., and Tina M. Taylor of Stanford; five sisters, Betty Hatter of Lawrenceburg, Norma Hamilton of Cynthiana, Sue Reams of Casey County, Katie Clark of Somerset and Lytha Hines of Salvisa; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Green River Pentecostal Church by Rick Naylor. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jackie and Robbie Hatter, Jamie Clark, D.J. Reams, Ricky Hamilton, Michelle Reams and Tony Lowe.

WAYNESBURG - Dee Ray Bastin, 67, of Casey County, died Wednesday in Waynesburg. 
Born July 27, 1931, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Harvey and Evie Black Bastin. He was a barber, a member of Mount Olive Church and a World War II Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Paulina Bastin of West Chester, Ohio; two daughters, Donna Morris of Orlando, Fla., and Debbie Zepka of Brandon, Fla.; a brother, Darrell Bastin of Liberty; two sisters, Betty Ware of Waynesburg and Faye Sims of Kings Mountain; and two grandchildren.

Burial will be in Salyers Cemetery, Casey County, with military rites by Caswell Saufley American Legion Post 18. He died Wednesday in Waynesburg.  He was a veteran of the Korean War.

CRAB ORCHARD -- Bernard Louis Bless, 83, of Waynesburg died Wednesday at his home.  Born March 27, 1919, in the Ottenheim community of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Emil F. and Mary Beyer Bless.  He was a farmer, an Army veteran and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Danville.

Survivors include a brother, Emil Bless of Montgomery, Ala.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery by the Rev. David Witten.

WAYNESBURG -- Services for Patricia Jane Kidd Blevins, 41, of Johnson Road died Saturday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington.  Born Sept. 19, 1961, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Wanda Hodge Kidd of Mount Vernon and the late Tom Kidd. She was a Baptist.  Survivors include her former husband, Edward Blevins; a son, Thomas Blevins of Waynesburg; four daughters, Susan McFerson of Waynesburg and Melissa Earles, Candice Stephens and Jennifer Allen, all of Liberty; five brothers, Danny J. Kidd of Jeffersonville, Ind., Richard J. Caudill of Broughtontown, and Jeremy D. Caldwell, Gary W. Caldwell and Carl J. Caldwell, all of Mount Vernon; four sisters, Donna G. Cummins of Waynesburg and Michelle S. Bowman, Vicki J. Doan and Angela D. Miller, all of Mount Vernon; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miracle Temple Church by Vernon Doan.  Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

MORELAND - William Henry "Bill" Bogie, 89, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Sunday in Port Charlotte.  Born April 6, 1913, 
in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Joe T. and Effie Warren Lunsford Bogie. He was a retired 
farmer and a member of Hustonville Baptist Church, Moreland Baptist Church and First Baptist
Church in Danville.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Toombs Bogie; a daughter, BarbaraSpauldng of Owensboro; a brother, William F. Bogie of Bend, Ore.; a
brother, Alvin Bogie of Frankfort; two sisters, Nell Davis of Stanfordand Jo Ann Dietz of New Castle, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nora Alice Brock Bogie; two daughters, Linda Bogie and Debra Williams; and a granddaughter.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Anna M. Bowden, 75, died Friday at Ball Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 17, 1927, in Stanford, she was a daughter of the late James and Clara Redeker Woods. She was retired from Superior Laundry and a member of Muncie Christian Center. She was the widow of Charlie Bowden.  Survivors include a son, William Bowden of Muncie; a brother, James Woods of Danville; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Parson Mortuary in Muncie by Tim and Marji King. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Born Aug. 13, 1913, in Loveland, Ohio, he was a son of the late Luther and Maude Williams Calhoun. He was a Baptist minister for 62 years, having served as pastor of Crab Orchard, McKinney and Geneva Baptist churches.
Survivors include his wife, Edythe M. Carter Calhoun; a son, Robert L. Calhoun of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mary E. Vermillion of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Johnetta Proctor of Africa; two sisters, Elizabeth Tache and Lois Calhoun, both of Aberdeen, Ohio; two brothers, John Calhoun of Lebanon, Ohio, and Tommy Calhoun of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Trevor Proctor, Timothy, Joshua and Brett Wilson, Billy Arvin and David Austin. Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Crab Orchard, McKinney and Geneva Baptist churches.

Burial was in Olive Cemetery.  She died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.  Born Oct. 28, 1909, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Will and Mary E. Hicks Barger. She was a homemaker and a member of The Christian Church in Crystal, W.V. She was the widow of Otey Calhoun.  Survivors include three sons, Vernon Calhoun of Williamsburg, Wayne Calhoun of Marion, Ill., and Cline Calhoun of Lexington; a daughter, Phyllis Smallwood of Waynesburg; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grand-children; and several great-great-grandchildren.  Pallbearers will be grandsons.

WAYNESBURG -  Hassee Carter, 89, of Hwy. 3276 Waynesburg, KY, passed away April 2, 2001 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, KY. 

He was born in Louisa, KY, October 25, 1911, son of the late Hezekiah Webb Carter and Adaline (Thompson) Carter. He was a farmer, store clerk in Waynesburg and member of the Double Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include a step-son, Roy (Sue) Russell of Kings Mt., step-daughter, Tammy (Doug) Roberts of Waynesburg , sister, Elizabeth Osborne of Somerset and several nieces and nephews..

He was preceded in death by his wives, Dovie K. (Hines) Carter, Mattie Belle Singleton, Lois Jeanette Fields, step-daughter, Edith Russell Eubank, six brothers, Beckham, Loranza, Moan, Edgar, Richard and Finley Carter, three sisters, Gladys Smith, Lezenia Morgan and Erma Adams.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2001 at Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, with the Rev. Brad King officiating. Burial in the Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg.

She was the widow of Paul C. Cloyd.  Survivors include a daughter, Carole C. Garrett of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, A.W. Hall of Smithville, Tenn.; three sisters, Fannie Barbati of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Elizabeth Edrington of Nashville, Tenn., and Zora Haumesser of Tampa, Fla.; three grandsons; and five great-grandchild.  Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery. Born March 20, 1926, in Lincoln County, he was a son of Eva Jane Eades Coleman of Stanford and the late Dewey Coleman. He was a retired construction and heavy equipment operator, a member of the Pentecostal church and an Army and Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Padgett Coleman; three sons, Robert L. Coleman of Lexington, Roy L. Coleman of Stanford and Ronald D. Coleman of Frankfort; two stepsons, Howard K. Jones of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Dianna L. McKay and Rhonda J. Services for George Albert Coontz, 69, of Junction City, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Thomas King. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery. He died Monday at his home.

Born Sept. 30, 1934, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late George E. and Edna P. Young Coontz. He was a minister for 45 years, serving at House of Prayer Church, and a former member of the National Guard. He also was gospel singer and guitar player.  

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Hensley Coontz; two daughters, Gail Tyler of Danville and Pam Hatter of Junction City; eight sons, George W. Coontz of Elizabethton, Tenn., James "Buddy" Coontz of Lancaster, and Larry, Darrell, David, Timmy, Jody and Philip Coontz, all of Junction City; three sisters, Evalene Langford of Liberty, Mondalene Turner of Stanford and Eva Propes of Junction City; 24 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Born Oct. 15, 1925, in Wayne County, he was a son of Riley and Vada Keith Correll. He was a retired self-employed television repairman and operator of the Corner Grocery in Kings Mountain. He was a World War II Army veteran and attended Kings Mountain Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Imogene Gooch Correll; a daughter, Christy Correll of Waynesburg; a brother, Don Correll of Louisville and a grandson.
Pallbearers will be Steve Correll and C.R. Barnett, Allen, Scott and Greg Correll, Harmon, Scott and Elton Beedy.

Charles Stewart Crawford, 84, of Kentucky Veterans Center, Wilmore, died there Tuesday. He was formerly of Lincoln County.
Born April 4, 1914, in Perryville, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Mary H. Carpenter Crawford. He was a 1932 Perryville High School graduate, a retired farmer and a member of Perryville Presbyterian Church. He also was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include two nephews, Charles Hankla of Nashville, Tenn., and Willis Hankla Jr. of Owensboro.
A gravside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery by the Rev. Randy Rodgers.  Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She died Friday at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. 
Born Feb. 10, 1961, in Fairfax, Va., she was a daughter of Thomas W. Arrington of Louisa, Va., and the late Delsie S. Pruitt. 
Other survivors include her husband, John W. Dilley Sr.; two sons, John W. Dilley Jr., of Crab Orchard and Jason C. Dilley of Crab Orchard; a daughter, Jamie L. Dilley of Crab Orchard; stepmother, Edna Arrington of Louisa, Va.; three sisters, Judy Owens of Lorton, Va., Annette Martin and Robin Summerfield, both of Louisa.

Born Dec. 6, 1934, in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late James R. and Zula Sowders Dyer. He was a farmer, a retired ordained minister and a member of Mt. Zion Church . 
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Belcher Dyer; a son, Randy Dyer of Eubank; two daughters, Becky Wilmot of Waynesburg and Teresa Wesley of Eubank; two brothers, Fred Dyer of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Herman Dyer of Somerset; four sisters, Dess Wesley of Cincinnati, Hester Pendleton of Louisville, and Frances Johnson and Willene Jasper, both of Science Hill; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Pine Hill Cemetery, Pulaski County, by the Rev. Claude Meece Jr.

Born June 22, 1913, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Cornelius and Ethel Bastin Floyd. He was a retired merchant of 25 years and a farmer. He was a lifetime member and deacon of Walltown Christian Church, a Kentucky Colonel and a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He was the widower of Jewell Estes Floyd.
Survivors include a son, John Carroll Floyd, Lexington; two daughters, Sue Reynolds of Versailles and Linda Clark of Walltown; a brother, Vernon Floyd, Stanford; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Walltown Christian Church by the Rev. Erwin Ray. Burial will be in Salyers Cemetery.

Born April 6, 1922, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Erbin and Jennie Johnson Sargent and the widow of H. Cecil Franklin. She was a homemaker and member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Geneva C. Wash and Sandy K. Myers, both of Danville; a son, Cecil Wayne ``Shakey" Franklin of Danville; two brothers, Frank Sargent of Danville and Jim Sargent of Perryville; six sisters, Myrtle Fowler and Lucille Preston, both of Danville, Ann Johnson of Junction City, Lorena Lowry of Perryville, Geneva Edwards of North Carolina and Judy Smith of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

Born June 15, 1944, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Carl and Audrey Smith Gifford. He was an employee of Lincoln County Road Department where he worked 23 years and a member of Redemption Road Pentecostal Church.

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Earl Jasper Girdler, 69, of Middletown, Ohio, died Friday at Middletown Regional Hospital.
  Born May 9, 1928, in Junction City, he was a son of the late Victor and Myrtle Carey Girdler. He was employed by Armco Steel Co. for 25 years until his retirement as a supervisor in the shipping department. He attended the Yankee Road Church of God.
He served in the Army during the Korean War, and was a member of Jefferson Lodge #90 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine, Middletown VFW, and the ham radio association.
  He was the widower of Ella Mae Girdler.
  Survivors include a daughter, Ava Lee of Palm Bay, Fla.; a son, Mike Girdler of Franklin, Ohio; a brother, Jesse Girdler of Shelby City, Ky.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
  Services will be 7 p.m. today at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home in Middletown by the Rev. Allen Deaton. A graveside serve will be noon Monday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, with the American Legion providing military honors.

He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Lottie M. Garr Gooch; a son, Edward E. Gooch of Stanford; two daughters, Carolyn A. Gooch of Stanford and Jo Alice Johnson of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a sister, Anna Catherine Tucker of Detroit, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

He worked as an investigator for the U.S. Treasury Department and served as police commissioner and city commissioner for Crab Orchard. He was a a Kentucky colonel and World War II Army veteran.     Survivors include his wife, Shirley Murray Harris; a daughter, Kimberly A. Born June 14, 1936, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Mack and Gladys Perkins Johnson. He was retired from General Electric in Cincinnati where he had worked 35 years. He was a member of Pisgah Heights Baptist Church in Pisgah Heights, Ohio, and McKinney Masonic Lodge.
He is survived his wife Elaine Mushin Johnson, Hustonville. Additional survivors include four sons, Jerry Johnson, Versailles, Ind., Leonard Johnson, Bloomington, Ind., Greg Johnson, Kings Mountain, and Larry Johnson, Hustonville; two stepsons, Darrell Hatter, Chillicothe, Ohio, and Mike Hatter, Middleburg; two brothers, Mack Garland Johnson, Hustonville, and Charles Johnson, Mason, Ohio; one sister, Pauline Beatty, Clarksville, Ind.; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren.  Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery.

ROCKPORT-Nicole Michell Kinman, 17, died Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in automobile accident near Richland, Ind.
There will be joint services with her grandmother Norma Jo Kinman, on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Harris Funeral Home, Petersburg. Dr. Larry Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery, Petersburg.
She was born June 16, 1981, in Vincennes, to Gary A. and Shelly (Coleman) Kinman Jr. They both survive in Rockport.
She was a senior at South Spencer High School and a member of the Rebel Jazz Dance Team. She attended Crabtree Church, Owensboro, Ky., and Oak Grove Church, Oakland City.
Also surviving are grandparents Gary A. Kinman, Petersburg, Shirley and Bob Lytle, and Jerry and Nancy Coleman, all of Oakland City. Great-grandparents Thelma Lucille Wood and Gladys Coleman also survive in Oakland City.

The funeral will be at the Harris Funeral Home, Petersburg, at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in the Walnut Hills Cemetery, Petersburg, with Dr. Larry Crowe officiating. Veterans graveside services will be accorded by the Petersburg VFW. There will be a joint service with her granddaughter, Nicole Kinman. She was born in Lincoln County, Ky., on May 31, 1939, to Toy N. and P. Lucille (Mink) Rogers. Her husband of 39 years, Gary A. Kinman, survives.  Kinman, a 1974 Oakland City University graduate, was a Providence Church of Christ, Lincoln County, member and was a United States Air Force veteran.  Also surviving are: a son, Gary A. Kinman Jr., Rockport; a daughter, Cynthia A. Wint, Petersburg; a sister, Peggy I. Cordier, Crab Orchard, Ky. and a grandson.  A granddaughter preceded her in death.

EUBANK - Burlie E. (Dick) Mullins, 82, Mullins Lane, Eubank, passed away Monday June 18, 2001 at her residence.She was born November 26, 1918, a daughter of the late Tommy Dick and Delila (Dick) Dick. She was a homemaker and a member of Eubank Church of Christ.

She is survived by four sons, Russel Lee Mullins, Cincinnati, Ohio, Dewayne Mullins, Middleburg, Ky., Roger Dale Mullins, Franklin, Ind., and Douglas Roy Mullins, Eubank, Ky.; three daughters, Fayrene Bastin, Cincinnati, Ohio, Marlene Hamilton, West Chester, Ohio, and Elizabeth Jane Hamilton, Mason, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; two sisters, Edra Dick, Indiana and Odra Emerson, Casey County, Ky.; three step sisters, Freda Dick, Science Hill, Ky., Clarice Watson, Ohio and Annie Dick, Somerset, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Lee Mullins, whom she married on December 28, 1933, and who passed away on September 2, 1995; her parents; her Step Mother, Gertie (Phelps) Dick; one son, Ronnie Gene Mullins; one daughter, Lila Delen Mullins; five brothers Floyd, Johnny C. Beecher, Joe and Dolphus Dick; one sister Beatrice Brown; one step sister, Lois Godby; 1 grandchild and three great grandchildren.

He was a jailer in Lincoln County for 16 years, deputy sheriff for four years, and a former Hustonville chief of police. He was also a farmer, and a member of Hustonville Masonic Lodge. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of First Church of God of Stanford.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Lanham Neal; two sons, Douglas Neal and David Neal, both of Stanford; two daughters, Diane Pope of Junction City and Sharlene Taylor of Stanford; two sisters, Ethel Dees of Rogersville, Tenn., and Edith Holton of Junction City; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Newland. She was a member of Crab Orchard Baptist Church, a graduate of Spencerian Business College and a retired licensed

practical nurse at the old Kentucky State Hospital.      Survivors include a son, Bert McGohon of Stanford; two brothers, E.C. Baker Jr. of Brodhead and Roger Baker of Frankfort; and two sisters, Elaine Young of Louisville and Sue Hale of Danville.  Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home by Gary Story.   Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

CRAB ORCHARD - Katie F. Ragle, 82, of Bronston, KY, passed away September 14, 2001 at Somerset Nursing & Rehabilitation, Somerset, KY.  She was born in Crab Orchard, KY, February 25, 1919, daughter of the late James Bunch and Lucinda (Bunch) Bunch. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal Faith.

Survivors include four sons, Melvin Ragle of Bronston, John Ragle of Fort Wayne, IN, Harold Ragle of Somerset, Junior Ragle of Bronston, four daughters, Lucille Troxtell of Ferguson, Betty Hughes of Bronston, Debra Carrender of Burnside, Kathy McMullin of Bronston, two brothers, Charles Bunch of Mt. Vernon, Arthur Bunch of London,  two sisters, Mildred Bell of Burnside, Grace Perry of Crab Orchard, 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Ragle, whom she married Nov. 4, 1937 in Crab Orchard, her parents, a daughter, Norma Ruth Ragle, three sisters, Bertie Littlejohn, Mary Weaver and Dorthy Byrd.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. September 17, 2001 at Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bros. Gary Lovitt and J.S. New officiating. Burial in the Bronston Cemetery. (Pulaski Co.)

WAYNESBURG - Darlene Elizabeth Rains, 18, of Eubank, died Sunday of injuries sustained in an auto accident on U.S. 27 in Pulaski County.
Born Aug. 11, 1979, in Pulaski County, she was a daughter of Johney and Wanda Voils Rains. She was a clerk at Ruckels Grocery and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. She was in the Upward Bound Program at Berea College.
Other survivors include her brother, Jonathan Rains of Eubank; paternal grandparents, John and Mary Rains of Eubank; and maternal grandparents, Herman and Betty Voils of Stanton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Double Springs Baptist Church by the Revs. Monty Carney and Wayne Stephens. Burial will be in Goochtown Cemetery.

STANFORD - Services for Marie Reed, 83, of U.S. 27 South, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Highland Methodist Church by the Revs. Dennis Spencer and Gary King. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She died Wednesday at Stanford House Nursing Home.
Born June 8, 1914, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Newland D. and Nannie Taylor Butt. She was a homemaker and a member of Highland Methodist Church and Stanford Eastern Star. She was the widow of William Daley Reed.
Survivors include two sons, Shelby N. Reed and William P. Reed, both of Stanford; a daughter, JoAnn Davis of Waynesburg; two sisters, Betty Austin and Violet James, both of Somerset; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Genevieve Reed.

She died Wednesday in Lexington. An autopsy is pending an autopsy.
Born May 5, 1970 in Lexington, she was a daughter of Frank and Anita Tolley Richardson. She was a licensed practical nurse and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. 
Survivors include a brother, Greg Richardson of Waynesburg; a sister, Ruthann Richardson of Waynesburg; and a maternal grandmother, Flora Tolley of Waynesburg.

   Born May 14, 1937, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Nora Lee Kidd Mullins. She was a homemaker and a member of First Apostolic Church, Danville.
   Survivors include her husband, J.D. Saylor; two sons, Charles Adams of Danville and Richard Eugene Adams of Lexington; three daughters, Kathy Mae Bowen of Stanford, Sandy Gail Johnson of Stanford and Doris Corrine Patrick of Grove City, Ohio; two brothers, Gilbert Mullins of Georgetown and Foster Mullins of Wilmington, Ohio; a sister, Shirley Woods of Blanchester, Ohio; 10 stepchildren; and 11 grandchildren. 
   Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by the Revs. Robert Ison and Greg Ison. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, Broughtontown,

MORELAND - Wilbert Stephenson Sears, 53, of Junction City, died Friday at his home.
   Born Oct. 9, 1943, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Melvin Ernest and Lorraine Benedict Sears. He worked for Packs Nursery in Junction City for several years. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church, Moreland.
   Survivors include his wife, Jonell Hafley Sears; two daughters, Carolyn Louise Adams and Frances May Edwards, both of Junction City; one son, Joe Sears of Junction City; two stepsons, Robert and Mike Hafley, both of Junction City; two stepdaughters, Christy Hafley of Junction City, and Katherine Henson of Danville; one sister, Virgie E. Adams of Waynesburg; four brothers, William, Ernest, Phillip and Paul Sears, all of Junction City; three grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
    Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Revs. Ernest Martin and Wayne Stevens. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery.

LANCASTER - Jack E. Shillings, 74, of Harmons Lick Road, Crab Orchard, died Friday at home. He was born August 16, 1924. He was a World War II Navy veteran. 
Services are 2:30 p.m. today at Harmons Lick Free Pentecostal Church by the Rev. Farmer Saylor. Burial will be in the Saylor family cemetery.
Visitation is 2 p.m. today.  Pallbearers will be A.D. Saylor, Raymond Napier, Kenneth Bker, Todd French, Danny Gibson and John Harbin.

STANFORD- Charles Franklin Sims, 49, of Berwyn, Ill., who was raised in Kings Mountain, died Friday at the University of Loyola Hospital in Maywood, Ill.   Born Feb. 20, 1948, in Jeffersonville, Ind., he was a son of the late Lester Sims and Johnnie Sims Noyola. He was a private contractor for the State of Illinois Department of Social Services.
Survivors include his wife, Zapopan Marie Romero Sims; a son, Charles Franklin Sims Jr. of Berwyn; two daughters, Lisa Marie Sims of Cicero, Ill., and Patricia Louise Sims of Berwyn; and two sisters, Rebecca Noyola Williams of Kings Mountain and JoAnn Sims Newsome of Richmond.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Mike Mullins. Burial will be in Sims Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

LANCASTER - Carl V. Speaks, 62, of Club Side Drive, Stanford, died Saturday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
  Born July 11, 1934, in Garrard County, he was a son of Ada Green Speaks Hendrickson of Lancaster and the late Hamilton Speaks. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer and an insurance agent with Modern Woodman of America, Rock Island, Ill. He was a former partner of Beazley-Raney-Speaks Funeral Home, former owner and operator of Speaks Flower Shop, former partner and operator of Ensslin-Speaks Cold Storage Warehouse and former partner and operator of Speaks Wholesale Co., all located in Stanford.
  He was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church, Lincoln Masonic Lodge No. 60 F&AM and was a 32nd degree Mason, Covington. He was a member of Lincoln Chapter 486, Order of Eastern Star, Stanford Chamber of Commerce, Oleika Shrine Temple, Lexington, and Scottish Rite Temple. He served as a representative of the American Red Cross for 25 years. He promoted Small Fry football at Stanford Elementary School and Toys for Tots for Needy Children of Lincoln County.
  Additional survivors include his wife, Melva Dean Locker Speaks; a son Hamilton Owen Speaks of Berea; four sisters, Georgia Shell of Lancaster, Linda May of Gilbert, W.V., Pat Walter of Harrodsburg, and Jo Ann Garrett of Louisville; a grandson; two step grandsons; and two step great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, William Hendrickson. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lancaster Cemetery by the Revs. Jim Walter and Morris Trayner. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

STANFORD - Lillie Sowers, 91, of Harmon Heights died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital.   Born July 4, 1904, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sallie Frederick Spears. She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Jesse Sowers; two sons, Lloyd and Freeman Sowers; and a daughter, Ella Mae Girdler. She was a member of Middleburg Christian Church. Survivors include two sons, Robert Sowers of Palm Bay, Fla., and Jimmy Sowers of Stanford; three daughters, Frances Estes of Stanford, Juanita Gibson of Cincinnati and Eldean Brent of West Harrison, Ind.; a sister, Helen Haag of Madisonville, Ohio; 26 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fox Funeral Home. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Ralph Fox Spoonamore, 77, of Fox Spoonamore Road in Lincoln County, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 10, 1921, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late David Logan and Mabel Rankin Spoonamore. He was a farmer and the widower of Katherine Dunn Spoonamore. He was a lifelong member of McKendree United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, John David Spoonamore of Lincoln County; a daughter, Patsy Spoonamore Sides of Kingsport, Tenn., and two grandchildren.
Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeff Coleman. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

STANFORD - Services for Ted V. Stickler, 60, of Pine Grove Road, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home by the Chuck Bartlett. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital of natural causes.
Born Oct. 4, 1937, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Louis E. and Jessie Edster Stickler. He was a 31 year employee of Penn Ventilation in Junction City and farmer. He was a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ and Sheet Metal Workers Association 433.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Siler Stickler; two sons, Jeffrey Stickler of Stanford and Jamie Stickler of Beattyville; a brother, Ned Stickler of Stanford; a sister, Judy Goode of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Walter Dowell, Wayne Saylor, Tommy Messer, Dave Nichol, Earl Harris and Gary Dowell.
Honorary pallbearers are William Tucker, Lowell Saylor, members of Pine Grove Church of Christ, and Sheet Metal Workers Association Local 433.

MORELAND - Hershel Ray Thompson, 54, of McKinney, died Friday at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington.
Born Jan. 9, 1943, he was the son of Edna Preston of Kings Mountain. He was a truck driver for 22 years with Central Wholesale in Danville. He was a member of the Stanford Church of Christ.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Betty Carrier Thompson. Additional survivors include four stepsons, Roy Lee Reynolds, Louisville, Ricky Lynn Reynolds and Charles Wayne Reynolds, both of Lancaster, and Jeffery Alan Reynolds of Stanford; one stepdaughter, Maria Mischelle Wall, Lancaster; six step grandchildren; and several half brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at the Stanford Church of Christ. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the church by Virgil Horseman and the Rev. Bob Bausum. Members of the McKinney Area Rescue Squad will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Gooch Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

Born Dec. 31, 1941, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Carvan and Beatrice Sears Wade, She was an employee of Super 8 Motel in Danville and a member of Geneva Community Church.

he was the son of the late Oliver B.And Anzie Smallwood Vanover. He was a retired employee of National Cash Register Co., and the 
widower of Hazel Francisco Vanover.  Survivors include two nephews, Homer L. Vanover and Vincent Vanover, both of Danville.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by C.A. Easterling. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.

She died Sunday at home.
Born June 24, 1908, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of Vernon J. and Louia F. Wall Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Pilot Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of Joseph H. Lewis Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the widow of David S. Williams.
Survivors include two sons, Leland and Olin Williams, both of Ellison Community; a daughter, Eldred W. Melton of Frankfort; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, George Williams, and two grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Wilkerson Wrenn; four sons, Julian, Robert, Morris and William Wrenn, all of Garrard County; three daughters, Marilyn Hensley, Darlene Daniels and Donald Lamb, all of Garrard County; a sister, Pearl Payne of Garrard County; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

WAYNESBURG -Opal A. (Todd) Yeary, 84, passed away March 28, 2001 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. She was born in Waynesburg, KY, November 16, 1916, daughter of the late Johnie Todd and Stella (Measle) Todd. She was a homemaker, retired Rose's employee and member of Estesburg Church of Christ in Eubank.

Survivors include her husband, Coyt C.Yeary, whom she married Dec. 19, 1936, son,Bill Gene (Alma) Yeary of Lexington, daughter, Sylvia Ann (Donnie) Zellar of Mellott, IN, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by, son James Randall "Jim" Yeary, brother, Noel L. Todd and two sisters, Debbie Sanders and Iva Walls.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2001 at Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill,(Pulaski Co.) with the Bro. Gilbert Robinson officiating. Burial in the Eubank Cemetery, Eubank, KY
