STANFORD - A private family memorial service for Lucretia Alice "Cree" Keck Abbey, 92, of Stanford, will be held at Moreland Christian Church by David Smith.

Born Sept. 26, 1913, in Corning, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Otto and Rosa Keck. She was active in Lincoln County Homemakers Association and a volunteer at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Moreland Christian Church and the widow of Lloyd Abbey.

Survivors include six daughters, Marian Cortright of Meridian, Ind., Shirley Bement of Bishop, Calif., Jean Anderson and Joan Abbey, both of Port Orford, Ore., Linda Abbey of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and Sandra Martin of Stanford; three sisters, Beatrice Griffin and Helen Ayers, both of Corning, N.Y., and Rosalie Andrews of Horseheads, N.Y.; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

SOMERSET - Bonnie G. Saylor Allen, 80, of Britthaven Nursing Home, died Wednesday in Somerset.

Born Jan. 2, 1926, in Crab Orchard, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Mary P. McKinney Saylor. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and the widow of Joe R. Allen Jr.

Survivors include a son, Danny Allen of Stanford; two brothers, Eli Saylor of Somerset and Bill Saylor of Lexington; a sister, Grecian Brock of Broughtontown; several stepchildren; a granddaughter; several stepgrandchildren; and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services were today at Lange and New Brothers Family Funeral Home by Coy Cox. Burial was in Mill Springs National Cemetery.

Donald Jerry Beasley, age 62 of Hanson Circle, in Lexington, Kentucky. He died Friday March 14, 2003 at his residence.

He was born October 13, 1940 in Lexington, Kentucky to Lillian True Beasley and the late Aubrey T. Beasley. He was a retired truck driver for Eagle Express.

Survivors include; his wife, Burlene Mae White Beasley of Lexington, Ky, his mother, Lillian True Beasley of Lexington, Ky, a son, Donald Jerry Beasley of Lexington, Ky, a daughter Diana Lea Beasley of New Orleans, LA.and a step son, Eric Humphreys of Versailles, KY. Also survived by three step grandchildren, one brother, Harold Beasley of Lexington, KY, one sister June Williamson of Somerset, KY

STANFORD - Services for John Wallace Blanton, 84, of South Fork, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. Vola Brown. Burial will be in Pleasant Point Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born March 18, 1922, in Johnson County, he was a son of the late Dora and Mary McQueary Blanton. He was a machinist and a World War II Army veteran, having served in Gen. George Patton's armored division. He was a tank commander and in the first tank to enter Rome, Italy. He served in Italy and North African campaigns and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars.

Survivors include his wife, Alice M. Wilson Blanton; a daughter, Sylvia M. Blanton Hale of South Fork; four sisters, Peggy Puteet of Stanford, Linda Pearlman of Reno, Nev., Pauline Hacker of Fairfield, Ohio, and Betty Jacobs of Russell Springs; a granddaughter; and two stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Don A. Houp.

Letcher Wayne "Les" Blanton, 57, Michigan City, died at 4:05 p.m. Thursday (July 15, 2004) at his home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Carlisle Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry McKinney officiating. Cremation will take place.

Mr. Blanton was born July 13, 1947, in Gary to Letcher and Grace (Frazier) Blanton. On June 20, 1981, he married Patsy Halfacre, who survives in Michigan City.

Survivors also include his mother, Grace Blanton, Stanford, Ky.; one son, Thomas (Tracy) Blanton, LaPorte; two grandchildren, Maverick and Alexa Blanton, LaPorte; one sister, Phyllis Goldbach, Avon Lake, Ohio; one nephew, Justin Goldbach, Avon Lake; eight brothers and sisters-in-law; several aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews; three great-nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Mr. Blanton was retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. and had been a foreman in the coke ovens. He was a volunteer firefighter for Springfield Township and a first responder.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne Division.

Mr. Blanton was a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Churchm an ordained deacon, chairman of the Benevolence Committee and in charge of the food bank.

CRAB ORCHARD - Services for Grace Taylor Brummett, 82, of Crab Orchard, will be 2 p.m. Friday at McKnight Funeral Home by the Rev. Caywood Morris. Burial will be in Negro Creek Cemetery.

Born Jan. 18, 1923, in Leslie County, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Roxie Wilson Taylor. She was a member of West Brodhead Church of God and the widow of Denver A. Brummett.

Survivors include three sons, Earl D. Brummett of Stanford, Charles A. Brummett of Crab Orchard and Donnie Brummett of Richmond; a sister, Hazel Bishop of Lake City, Fla.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Orville Burkhart, Bobby Joe Lewis, Bobby Smith, Jesse Coffee, Jimmy Middleton, George Burkhart and Donnie Helton.

CRAB ORCHARD - Services for Regenia Sue Smith Carter, 54, of Somerset, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home by the Rev. Carson Atwood. Burial will be in Singletontown Cemetery in Eubank.

She was born February 4, 1950 in Russell County, KY., the daughter of Robert Frank and Dora Maude Dutton Smith.

She was the wife of Garrriest D. Carter, whom she married on August 25, 1979. She was a retired elementary school teacher for Broughtontown Elementary for 7 years and Leatherwood Elementary for 20 years. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Cornesttsville, Kentucky.

Survivors include: her husband Garriest D. Carter of Somerset, KY, stepsons: Joseph William Carter, Somerset, Gary Lee Carter of London, KY, Douglas Carter of Somerset, KY and a sister, Jennifer Smith of Louisville, KY. She is also survived by 15 step grandchildren, and several step great grandchildren.

Regenia was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Robert Smith and a step grandchild, Mary Emily Wren.

Pallbearers will be Terry, Greg and Kevin Pettit, Tim Smith, Jesse and Jerry Shelton and Ron Gevedon.

Services for Etta Catherine Coffman, 80, of Nichols Street, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. A private burial will follow in Hustonville Cemetery.

She died Wednesday at home. Born May 13, 1924, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late David T. and Sarah King Johnson. She was a retired licensed practical nurse.

Survivors include three daughters, Rita Porter of Charlotte, N.C., Sandra Bourne of St. Louis and Dottie Cooke of Danville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Hood, Matt Bourne, Karen Thomas, Tom Cooke and Kimberly Major. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Sunday

SCIENCE HILL - Kenneth M. Cook , 73, of Monroe, Ohio, formerly of Waynesburg, died Friday at his home.

Born Jan. 21, 1933, in Blue Diamond, he was the son of the late Condy and Leura Robinson Cook. He was a member of the Air Force and served in the Korean War. He worked for ARMCO Steel.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Willena Cook; a son, Kelly R. Cook of Middletown, Ohio; a daughter, Connie Duell of West Chester, Ohio; a brother, Condy Cook Jr. of Lexington; two sisters, Lucille Orcutt of Danville and Ermadene Padgett of Eubank; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home by Todd Smith. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery. Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Monday.

Sophia Day Coots, age 83 of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at her home. She was born on April 14, 1922 in Leslie County, KY, the daughter of the late Monroe and Melinda Lewis Day. She was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include: sons, Homer Coots of Danville, Ky, Michael Coots of Dayton, OH, Pat Coots of Crab Orchard, KY, daughters: Jackie Lynn Brock Villa Rica, GA., Hazel Saylor of Crab Orchard, KY. Brothers: Lloyd Day of Xenia, OH, Dexter Day of Hyden, KY, Paul Day of Hyden, KY, Ernest Day of Lancaster, KY, sisters: Myrtle Fouts of Hyden, KY, Lillian Joseph of Ohio, and Annie Hensley of Hyden, KY. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Sophia was preceded in death by her husband Bige Coots, and her parents, Monroe and Melinda Lewis Day, son, Bige Jr., a grandson, Anthony Wayne Coots, a great granddaughter Jessica Rae Saylor, a brother, Arnold Day and a sister Bonnie Jean Day.

Pallbearers include: Jr. Brock, Jeffery Strickland, Larry Phillips, Bill Mullins, Phillip Coots and Stanley Saylor.

CRAB ORCHARD - Marie Wilson Crank 84, of Crab Orchard, died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born Dec. 16, 1921, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Ashford and Flora Alice Denny Wilson. She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church and the widow of Homer Crank.

Survivors include two sons, Homer D. Crank and Manford H. Crank, both of Crab Orchard; four daughters, Edith Y. Price, Dianna Simpson, Eva C. Dowell and Deborah L. Sims, all of Crab Orchard; a sister, Eva Volecker of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Edward and Joe Wilson, both of Milton, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home by Ron Harp and Gordon Chaney. Burial will be in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

CRAB ORCHARD - E.J, Cummins , 85, of Hwy. 39 South, died Thursday at Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation.

Born April 15, 1919, in Rockcastle County, he was son of the late Esmer and Eva Smith Cummins. He was a carpenter, farmer and a member of Fox Hunters Association.

Survivors include his wife, Flossie Kirby Cummins; two sons, Charles L. Cummins of Winchester and Winford Cummins of Somerset; two daughters, Freida French of Simpsonville and Marlene Falconberry of Eubank; seven grandchildren; a step grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Treva Cummins; and a son, Dearl Cummins.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at McKnight Funeral Home by Cecil Roundtree. Burial will be in Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Saturday.

Nora A. Smith Davidson, age 76 of 256 Main Street, Crab Orhcard, Kentucky, passed away Monday January 13, 2003 at the Rockcastle County Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was born March 25, 1925 in Lincoln County Kentucky, the daughter of the late John W. and Louise Dial Smith. She was a member of Bethel Church of Christ. Nora was a retired appliance inspector for General Electric in Louisville, Kentucky

Survivors include: one son, Steve Davidson of Crab Orchard, KY, one granddaughter, Cecelia Gail Davidson of Crab Orchard, KY. Two sisters; Berdina Ledford of Greensburg, IN, Mildred Page of Greenfield, IN, one half brother John W. (Jay) Smith of Preachersville, KY.

Visitation will be held from 6- 9 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at McKnight Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday, January 16, 2003 at 11 AM, with minister J. M. Raulerson officiating. Burial will take place at Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery.

Delphia Marie Whitlock Reeves Dees, 82, of 590 Skyline Drive, Stanford, died Saturday, May 25, 2002 at her residence.

Born July 5, 1919 in Minors Branch, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Gertie King Mills. She was the widow of Donald Dees.

She was a retired fabric cutter at Palm Beach in Danville and a member of Blue Lick Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one son, Charles Whitlock, of Danville ; three daughters, Pauline Douglas of Danville, Faye Chapman, Harrodsburg and Joyce Nevius, Stanford; one stepdaughter, Gwen Sizemore, Covington; two brothers, Delbert (Doc) Mills, Frankfort, Oatley Mills, Gravel Switch; two sisters, Myrtle Waits, of Danville and Edith Daugherty, Forkland; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sylvester and Lowell Mills, and one daughter, Anna Lois Dees.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 29 at Fox Funeral Home in Stanford with Bro. Steven Owens and Bro. Wayne Stephens officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford.

CRAB ORCHARD - Angie Evelyn Adams Denny, 73, of Broughtontown, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 29, 1932, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Walter G. and Lillie M. Denny Adams. She was a member of Lancaster Church of God and a former seamstress for Cowdens Manufacturing Co.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Denny Jr.; two daughters, Jennie Playforth of Stanford and Charlene Denney of Crab Orchard; three sons, Charles Denny, Anthony Denny and Richard Denny, all of Crab Orchard; a sister, Eula Eldridge of Lancaster; two brothers, Carlos Adams of Stanford and Danny Ray Adams of Lancaster; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Crab Orchard Church of God by Harold Harness and Rick Reynolds. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Vince, Shawn and Kody Denney, Avery Estep, B.J. Brummett and Gary Baugh. Honorary pallbearers are Lorie Baugh, Michelle Wilson, Lindsey Wilson and Garrison Howland.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the church. McKnight Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Farand William Dillingham, age 19 of 3370 Pine Grove Road, Crab Orchard, Ky, died Monday, September 1, 2003 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident which occurred on U.S. Highway 150, west of Crab Orchard near the Cedar Creek Lake Dam.

He was the husband of Apryl Dawn Clinger Dinningham whom he married December 1, 2002.

He was born April 11, 1984 in Somerset, Ky, the son of Dennis W. and Edith J. Blevins Dillingham. He worked as a carpet layer and building construction. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife and his parents, sisters; Angela Creech, Rebecca Reyes and Gena Jones of Crab Orchard, KY, his grandmother, Irene Dillingham, his grandfather, Jack Blevins of Crab Orchard, one niece and seven nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 4, 2003 at 11 AM at the McKnight Funeral Home Chapel in Crab Orchard. Burial will take place at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery at Broughtontown, KY.

Pallbearers include: Shawn Guinn, Dustin Brown, Shon Berryman, Brand Elam, Zack McLemore and David York.

CRAB ORCHARD - Beulah Doyle, 72, of Lancaster Street, died Saturday at Hospice Care Center, Lexington.
Born July 24, 1926, in Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Pearl Wells Doyle. She was a homemaker and attended Block Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include a son, Randall J. Doyle of Stanford; a daughter, Patricia Sandlin of Brodhead; a sister, Lillie Doyle of Crab Orchard; two brothers, Clyde Doyle of Princeton, Ind., and Dennis Doyle of Crab Orchard; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Donnie King. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

Born May 14, 1917, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John and Lilly Hasting Green. She was an employee of Palm Beach. She was the widow of Jose Ernst.

Survivors include a son, Bill Ernst of Stanford; four daughters, Frances Ernst of Danville, Freida Berger of Louisville, Mary K. Durham of Prescott, Ariz. and Margaret Caldwell of Canal Fulton, Ohio; three brothers, Ray and Norman Green, both of Danville, and Sam Green of Paris, Ohio; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Molly Walker.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday.

LEXINGTON - Richard Hampton Fisher, 86, of Lexington, died Monday at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital.

Born Oct. 10, 1919, in Stanford, he was the son of the late Sam B. and Jessie Lee Fisher. He was a genealogist and historian whose research traced the roots of the present-day Fisher family to Stephen Albert Fisher, an American Revolutionary War soldier from Virginia. The ancestral Fisher, under the command of John Bowman, Military Commander of Kentucky, established a military stronghold near the present site of Danville in 1779. Archival materials compiled in that research have been deposited in the Kentucky History Center Library and Special Collections in Frankfort. A Kentucky historical marker commemorating Fisher's Garrison was donated by Fisher and placed near the corner of East Lexington Avenue and Cecilian Terrace in Danville.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Peavler Fisher; two sons, Richard H. Fisher II of Frankfort and Randy B. Fisher of Lexington; two daughters, Robyn F. Bourgois of Lexington and Lisa E. Fisher, of Salem, Ind.; a sister, Margaret Fisher Boggs, of Hagerstown, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In 1938, after graduating from Stanford High School, Fisher was employed by McAdams and Morford Drug Co. in Lexington, while studying art at the University of Kentucky. In 1943 he was employed by the Ford Motor Co. at its Willow Run plant in Ypsilanti, Mich., building B-24 "Liberator" bomber aircraft. In 1943, he was inducted into the Army, stationed at Fort McClellan, Ala., and was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant in February 1946. Since 1947, he owned and operated Fisher Display Service Inc., a local direct-marketing business selling Christmas decorations, display products and retail store display fixtures. He was a member of the Lafayette Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution, the Kentucky Historical Society and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

A memorial graveside service with military rites will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg by the Rev. Tommy Simpson. There will be no visitation.

STANFORD - Lincoln County's coroner said a Stanford man was pronounced dead after his bed caught fire Sunday night. Ernest Gilpin, 60, of 129 Shea Villa Court, was suspected to be smoking in bed in the apartment where he lived alone. "He was also hooked up to an oxygen tank, and the two don't mix very well," Coroner Bill Demrow said.

Fire Chief Kenny McDaniel said the call came in about 7:30 p.m. from a neighbor. Firefighters were able to pull Gilpin out of the burning room shortly after they arrived, McDaniel said, but the victim already was dead. Gilpin was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:15 p.m., Demrow said, after the Stanford Fire Department was able to contain the fire to the victim's bedroom, mostly to his bed. The fire had not spread to any other rooms of the victim's apartment nor to any other areas of the apartment building. Demrow said Gilpin was found on the bedroom floor and died of carbon monoxide poisoning - or smoke inhalation. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Stith Funeral Home, Danville.

Born Nov. 3, 1945, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Earnest W. and Janie Elizabeth Herring Gilpin. He was a carpenter and concrete construction worker, and had served in the Marine Corps. He attended Stanford Church of God and Parksville School.

James Henry Gooch, 76, of Stanford, died Thursday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Born Dec. 27, 1929, in Stanford, he was a son of the late Mae W. Goode and Albert Gooch Sr. He was retired from Lorillard Co. in Lexington after 25 years, and worked 10 years as a bus driver for Bluegrass Community Action in Stanford. He also was a farmer. He was a member of Bethel AME Church in Stanford, where he served on the steward and trustee boards and a member of the gospel group, Free Will Travelers.

Survivors include two sisters, Pauline Hunn and Mary V. Masterson, both of Stanford; and five brothers, John T. Gooch, Robert L. Gooch, Albert Gooch Jr., Ernest L. Gooch and Clarence E. Gooch, all of Stanford.

Born March 4, 1947, in Lincoln County, he was a son of Louise Pendigraph Hutchison of Highland and the late Earl D. Hutchison. He was a truck driver for Core-Trans Co. in Somerset, a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Highland Methodist Church.

Survivors include his fiance, Gayle Good of Eubank; two sons, Joseph V. Hutchison of Highland and Noah Todd of Hutchison of Ocala, Fla.; a daughter, Dana Pyles of White Plains; a brother, Don L. Hutchison of Danville ; a sister, Linda Kimberlin of Louisville; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Hutchison.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Bradley Leigh; two daughters, Wanda Tillett of Hustonville and Sheila Adams of Danville; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

STANFORD - Helen "Momma Bea" Martin, 96, of Stanford, died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born July 8, 1910, in Lebanon, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Frata Criles Craddock. She had been a secretary at Monarch Printing Co. in Dayton, Ohio, and a member of Stanford Church of Christ. She was the widow of Edgar L. Martin.

Survivors include three step granddaughters, who were her caregivers, Lori "Dolly" Akers of Danville, Jane "Marty" Sanders of Chicago, Ill., and Amy C. Nichols of Lexington; a sister, Phyllis A. Brown of Sun City, Fla.; a special friend who also helped care for her, Ovalee Bourne of Stanford; and six stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Shirley Sanders.

Born Oct. 16, 1911, in Crab Orchard, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Esther Stevens Wren. She was the widow of Raymond S. Payne. She was a homemaker and a member of Hedgeville Baptist Church.

He died Monday at home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after suffering from cancer, according to Boyle County Deputy Coroner King Pruitt.
Born June 9, 1941 in Casey County, he was a son of Frances Reed Peavyhouse of Stanford and the late Willie D. Peavyhouse. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Other survivors include his wife, Barbara Mullins Peavyhouse; a daughter, Lisa Edwards of Hustonville; two sons, Robert E. Peavyhouse, at home, and David W. Peavyhouse of Junction City; a brother, Gary W. Peavyhouse of Waynesburg; and six grandchildren.

CRAB ORCHARD - Gerene Saylor Rider, 73, of Crab Orchard, died Friday at her home. She was the daughter of the late John and Tollie Johnson Saylor. She was a homemaker and member of Cartersville Holiness Church.

Born June 21, 1917, in Brodhead, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Julie Jones Proffitt. She worked for many years at the Coffee Cup restaurant in Louisville and was a member of Church of God. She was the widow of Levi Bishop and Antonio Romero.

Survivors include a son, Noah Bishop of Elizabeth, Ind.; a daughter, Lucille Brummett of Marion, Ind.; an adopted daughter, Latrichia Parker of Marion; a sister, Etta Mae Nicholson of Marion; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

CRAB ORCHARD - Thomas David Simpson, 44, and Linda Kay McGeorge Simpson, 41, both of Crab Orchard, died Saturday in Crab Orchard. They were the parents of Mary Jean Simpson Judd and Natasha M. Simpson, both of Stanford; and they had two grandchildren. They were members of Ottawa Baptist Church.

Thomas was born Sept. 19, 1960, in Mount Vernon, the son of the late Thomas J. and Mary Frances Farris Simpson. Born Jan. 2, 1940, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Sid and Ethel Shepperson Southerland. He was a self-employed drywall contractor and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Butchertown.
Survivors include his wife, Delois Ferrell Southerland; four sons, Gregory and Roger Southerland, both of Gravel Switch, Brian Southerland of Hustonville, and Dewayne Southerland of Danville; four daughters, Freda Carey of Gravel Switch, Beverly King of Danville, Glorita Denson of Hustonville and Tracy Brown of Moreland; two brothers, Robert Southerland of Stanford and Buddy Southerland of Parksville; three sisters, Edith Terrill of Hustonville, Laura Wilson of Danville, and Agnes Warren of Florence; and 17 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Randy, Keith, Norman, Floyd and Harvey Southerland and Jeff King.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. today at the church.

SOUTHERLAND, William Ray
PERRYVILLE - William Ray Southerland, 67, of West Fifth Street, Perryville, died Friday at his home.
Born May 12, 1930, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Bessie Taylor Southerland. He was a retired road construction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Pendygraft Southerland of Perryville; a son, William Allen Southerland of Perryville; two sisters, Margaret Maddox and Eva Jenkins, both of Stanford; and a brother, Kenneth Southerland of Hamilton, Ohio.

WAYNESBURG - Sheila Dian Tackette, 51, of Eubank, died Monday at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center.

Born Jan. 31, 1953, she was the daughter of Arthur Tackette of Eubank and the late Deltie Bastin Tackette.

Survivors also include two sisters, Veronica Tackette of Hustonville and Karen Phillippe of Stanford.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by Greg Nimmo. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.

STANFORD - Lorene Wilder, 73, of Old Ottenheim Road, died Wednesday at Fort Logan Hospital Intensive Care Unit.

Born Jan. 1, 1930, in Bell County, she was the daughter of Anna Mae Thompson Wilder of Stanford and the late Hillary Wilder.

Survivors also include a brother, William H. Wilder of Stanford; and a sister, Evelyn Wilder of Stanford.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home by Ralph Reynolds. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Jesse Lee Young, 78, of Halls Gap, died Thursday, September 16, 1999 at the Patti A. Clay Memorial Hospital in Richmond.

Born May 22, 1921 in Paint Lick, he was the son of the late Elmer and Lillie Hale Young.

Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Gerkey Young, Halls Gap; one son, Dudley Keith Young, Stanford; two daughters, Joyce Holloway, Stanford and Shirley Peck, Halls Gap; three brothers, Elmer Young Jr., Waynesburg, Marvin W. Young, Somerset, and William Sexton, Harrodsburg; one sister, Irene Fields, Lancaster; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Gene Young; three sisters, Lola Bea Miracle, Ottie Mae Gerkey and Dorothy Ramey.

Funerals services were held Sunday, September 19, at the Fox Funeral Home in Stanford with Bro. Rob Cox and Virgil Horseman officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Highland.
