George T. Alcorn, 79, of Crab Orchard, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 29, 1924, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late John A. and Addie P. Alcorn. He was a retired
employee of American Greetings Co., a  deacon of First Baptist Church in Crab Orchard, a 1942 graduate of
Lincoln County High School and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a son, Charles Alcorn of Lancaster; two daughters, Beverly Brown of Acworth, Ga., and Vernia
Hawes of Columbus, Ga.; three  brothers, John A. Alcorn of Lexington, Ralph Alcorn of Indianapolis and James L.
Alcorn of Stanford; a sister, Marie Bates of Indianapolis; grandchildren;  and great-grandchildren.
Services will be noon Saturday at Crab Orchard First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

LIBERTY - Services for Elmer Clay Anderson, 82, of Liberty, will be 2 p.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home by the
Rev. Homer Hecht. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. He died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born July 4, 1921, in Stanford, he was the son of the late Elmer C. and Alice Gooch Anderson.

He was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Casey County Sportsmen Club
and Stanford Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Larry Anderson of Liberty; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation is after
9 a.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home.

STANFORD - Betty Butt Austin, 84, of Somerset, died Thursday at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in
Somerset. She was the wife of Glen Austin. Arrangements are incomplete at Fox Funeral Home. ( daughter of Newland D.

SOMERSET - Services for Betty Louise Butt Austin, 84, of Lakeview Drive, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Highland Methodist
Church by the Rev. Don Scilley. Burial will be at Highland Methodist Church Cemetery.

She died Thursday at Lake Cumberland Medical Center.

Born Sept. 24, 1919, in Highland, she was the daughter of the late Newland and Nannie Taylor Butt. She was a retiree of
Eli Lilly Corp. of Indianapolis and a member of Highland Methodist Church. Survivors include a sister, Violet James of
Somerset. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Taylor Austin.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at the church. Memorials may go to the Highland Methodist Church Cemetery fund. Fox
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BAKER, Doxie Evelyn Bailey

Doxie Evelyn (Bailey) Baker, 81, Old Salts Road passed away Sunday January 13, 2002 at Somerset Nursing &
Rehab Facility.

She was born March 11, 1920 in Pulaski County, a daughter of the late Drew Bailey and Doxie (Dye) Bailey. She was a
homemaker and a member of Pleasant Point Baptist Church in Lincoln County and attended the Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church in Somerset, KY.

She is survived by four daughters, Drucilla (and Don) Young, Stanford, KY., Aleta (And Kenneth) Eckstein, Dalton, GA.,
Karen (and Tommy) Taylor, Dothan AL. and Shari (and Jerry) Swanson, Nancy, KY.: two sisters, Edna (and Leonard)
Dalton. Nancy, KY. and Elma Baker: 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild as well as several
Loved Nieces, nephews and daughter-in-laws’.

She is preceded in death by her parents: her husband, Raymond Henry Baker whom she married on May 25, 1940 and who
passed away on October 19, 1986: two sons, J. E. Baker and Wallace Baker: one brother-in-law, William Bradley.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday January 16, 2002 at the Chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with
Brother John Lowery officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6:00 P.M. at the Chapel of
Morris and Hislope Funeral Home.

MORELAND - Opal Baker, 87, of Wickenburg, Ariz., formerly of Moreland, died Wednesday at her home.

Born March 19, 1917, in Scott County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John and Emmie Cox Price. She was a
retired employee of Corning Glass, where she worked from 1953-1979, and a member of Moreland Christian Church.
She was the widow of James Baker Sr.

Survivors include a son, James Baker Jr. of Wickenburg; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. David Smith. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

MORELAND - Beatrice "Bea" Benedict, 74, of Maxey Valley, died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born March 19, 1930, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Sarah Turpin Crowe. She was a homemaker
and a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, George L. Benedict; two sons, David Benedict of Danville and Freddy Benedict of Maxey Valley;
a daughter, Phyllisha Stuckey of San Antonio, Texas; four brothers, Eugene Crowe of Liberty, J.T. Crowe of Danville and Donnie
and Glen Crowe, both of Maxey Valley; a sister, Nancy Griffin of Maxey Valley; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

MORELAND - Harvey B. Candler, 67, of Hustonville, died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 13, 1936, in Moreland, he was the son of the late Sherman and Josephine Reynolds Candler.
He was a retired truck driver and a member of the National Guard for 19 years. He was the widower of Betty Powers Candler.

Survivors include a brother, Mike Candler of Hustonville.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by G.W. Smith and the Rev. David Smith. Burial will be in
Hustonville Cemetery.

a member of Waynesburg Free Pentecostal Church and the widow of John Neves and Ode Carter.

Survivors include a son, Phillip Carter of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Jeanette Pullum of Hustonville and Marge Little of
Chicago, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by two
sons, Robert Carter and John A. Neves; and two daughters, Bessie Greer and Helen Pruitt.

Born May 12, 1923, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late William Eggart and Minnie Wilson Eggart. She was a
housewife and member of Geneva Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her husband, George Coffman; five sons, Danny, Bobby, Mickey and Ronnie Coffman, all of Hustonville, and
Joey W. Coffman of Stanford; two daughters, Regina Stanley of Hustonville and Paulette Lopez of Stanford; two sisters, Sarah
Peck of Hustonville and Pauline Carmen of McKinney; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel by Timothy Brown. Burial will be in McKinney Cemetery.

MORELAND - Erma Lou Russell Crews, 83, of Moreland, died Thursday at her home.

Born Sept. 26, 1920, in Ellisburg, she was the daughter of the late Tildon and Velma Lanham Russell. She was a homemaker
and a member of Westside Community United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Adam E. Crews; two daughters, Carolyn K. Singleton of Moreland and Cherry Yvonne Sims
of Kings Mountain; two half brothers, Rodney Russell of Hustonville and Jimmy Russell of Stanford; a half sister, Carrie Lou
Richards of Hustonville; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Westside Community United Methodist Church by the Revs. Scott Wilson and Ed Parton.
Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Jasper Thomas Daley, 70, formerly of Boyle County, died Monday in Louisville.
He was a son of the late Jasper and Bessie Daley.

of Louisville; six sisters, Dorothy Worthington and Betty Robertson, both of Danville, Faye Lawson of Moreland, Evelyn Carter,
Christine Schlenaer and Nell Morrison of Cincinnati, Ohio; and seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren
Private graveside services will be held at Hustonville Cemetery.

DAUGHERTY, William J.                                  d. 18 May 2004

NICHOLASVILLE - William Joseph "Joe" Daugherty, 77, of Nicholasville, died Tuesday at his home.

Born on Nov. 8, 1926, in Danville, he was the son of the late Pat and Myrtle Vaught Daugherty. He was a graduate of Danville
High School, attended Centre College and was a World War II veteran. He retired from the National Life-American General
Insurance Co. after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Nicholasville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where
he was a deacon emeritus and a trustee.

He was co-founder of the Jessamine County Little League Association where coached for 15 years. He served on the founding
board of directors of Habitat for Humanity in Jessamine County and on the original board of directors for Jessamine County
Hospice. He was a member of the Kentucky School Board Association for 10 years. At his death, he was serving as an
elected member of the Nicholasville City Commission, a position he held for 18 years.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Shearer Daugherty; a daughter, Lynn Roger Thomas of Nicholasville; two sons, John Daugherty
of Nicholasville and Tom Daugherty of Morehead; and two sisters, Margaret Daugherty and Dorothy Daugherty Cole, both of
Nicholasville.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Nicholasville Christian Church by the Rev. Greg Porterfield. Burial will be in
Maple Grove Cemetery.

DENISON, Alma G.                                                          d. 16 May 2004

WAYNESBURG - Alma Greer Denison, 80, of Lexington, formerly of Kings Mountain, died Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital.

Born Sept. 24, 1923, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Evan and Georgia Jones Slone. She was a retired
employee of Palm Beach Co. in Lexington and a member of Teamsters Local 651 and Pond Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Greer of Somerset, Dwayne Greer of Stanford and Jackie Greer of Richmond; three
daughters, Frances Thompson of Nicholasville, Paulette Kilby of Danville and Claudette Switzer of Lexington; a sister,
Carma Cline; 23 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny and Howard Greer.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pond Baptist Church by the Rev. Wayne B. Smith. Burial will be in
Double Springs Cemetery
. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

CRAB ORCHARD - Anna Frances Brock Adams Denny, 74, of Lancaster, formerly of Crab Orchard, died Friday at the
Lancaster Christian Care Center.

Born Feb. 19, 1930, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nora Wilmot Brock. She was the
widow of the late Frankie Denny (George Franklin Denny died Aug. 19,  1987, s/o Elmer & Zella James Denny). She
was a waitress and cook.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie French of Crab Orchard and Clydia Akins of Lawrenceburg; a son, Phillip "Buddy"
Adams of Stanford; a sister, Bonnie Lee of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Nathaniel Brock of Somerset; six grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Adams.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel by Lohris Lee. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at McKnight Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Larry Akins, Shayne Adams, Anthony Carpenter,

Born Sept. 24, 1924, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Ethel Turner Blankenship. She was a
farmer, homemaker, member of the Mount Hebron Church and the widow of Henry Dowell.

Survivors include three sons, Elmer and Elvie Dowell, both of Waynesburg, and Vernon Dowell of Crawfordsville, Ind.;
four daughters, Dorothy Morhinners, Barbara Harris and Elsie Carter, all of Waynesburg, and Christian Roberts of Indianapolis;
three brothers, Thomas Blankenship of Egg Harbor, N.J., Virgil Blankenship of Crossville, Ind., and Charles Blankenship of
Hamilton, Ohio; three sisters, Margaret Dalton of Franklin, Ohio, Nora Schaeffer of Silverdale, Wash., and Nellie Hall of
Pikeville; 30 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Kidd and Katheryn Caudill; and two sons, Jessie and Bobby Dowell.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Asberry Floyd; two sons, Keith L. Floyd of Lancaster and Kendall M. Floyd of Harrodsburg;
a daughter, Tammy M. Cain of Liberty; two brothers, William Floyd of Charleston, S.C., and Marion Floyd of Danville; and two

He died Saturday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born Feb. 14, 1918, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Gene and Susan Dabney Francis. He was a self-employed
handyman and maintained the clock at the Lincoln County Courthouse for several years.

Survivors include a nephew, Joe Francis of Lexington; and a niece, Barbara Kennedy of Bridgewater, Va.
Pallbearers will be Joe Francis, Edgar Hazlett, Rudolph Kennedy, John Hackley, R.L. Davidson and Robert Booth.

Samuel Howard Gooch Jr., 90, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Danville, died Saturday in Mesa.

Born June 10, 1913, in Stanford, he was the son of the late Tim and Virgil Gooch. He was a retired Danville school
employee and barber and a deacon and member of Turnersville Baptist Church. He was the widower of Ethel Goode Gooch.

Survivors include a daughter, Lucille Meaux of Danville; five sons, Leon Gooch of Danville, Frank Gooch of Mesa, Robert
Gooch of Cincinnati, James Gooch of Stanford and Samuel Gooch of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Lucille Jones of Danville;
22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut streets, by the Rev. Herman Bradshaw.
Burial will be in Turnersville Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

WAYNESBURG - William "Fats" Gooch, 84, of Kings Mountain, died Sunday at Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Born April 26, 1920, in Casey County, he was the son of the late John W. and Mima Elizabeth Rowland Gooch. He was a
retired highline worker and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and IBEW
Union and the widower of Lela Carmicle Gooch.

Survivors include a brother, S.D. Gooch of Kings Mountain; and a sister, Jennie Goodpaster of Waynesburg.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by John Dean. Burial will be in K.P. Hall Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James and Billy Carmicle, Micah Goodpaster, David and Stanley Gooch, and Jody Roberts.

GOGGIN, John M. 

John M Goggin, 72, of 1770 Carman Lane, Stanford, died Wednesday, May 9 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. 

A native of Lincoln County, he was born September 30, 1917 to Harry G. Goggin and Elsie Morris Goggin. 

He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church, Kentucky Beef Cattle Association, past treasurer Lincoln County
Livestock Improvement Association, a recipient of the Clay Davis Jr. Award for outstanding contribution to the Lincoln
County Feeder Association in 1981. 

He was the widower of Jessie Lawson Goggin.  Survivors include a brother, Robert Goggin, Lexington; one sister, Mrs. James
(Margaret) Ashley, Crestview, FL.; two uncles, Roger Morris, Burlington, NC., and E. C. Goggin, Stanford; and several nieces
and nephews. 

Active pallbearers were Wendell Morris, Bruce Morris, Doc. Norville, Bill Holtzclaw, Steve Ashley and Gene Ashley.  Honorary
pallbearers were Paul Jeffries, David Peek, Paul Napier, David Gooch, Buddy Pence, Dan Grigson, jack Blair, John Maupin,
Morgan Pence, Adam Pence, J. B. Holtzclaw, Wallace Campbell, Lowell Atwood, David Campbell, and Roy Lee Reichenback. 

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 12 at the Fox Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Adams officiating.  Burial was in
Buffalo Springs

WAYNESBURG - Daisy Ellen Kidd Jacobs, 90, of Waynesburg, died Sunday in Danville.Born Nov. 12, 1913, in Casey County,
she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Gross Atwood. She was the widow of Isaac R. Kidd and Alva Jacobs.

She was a sewing company employee and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church and Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include a son, Ray Kidd of Monticello; a daughter, Doris Coffey of Waynesburg; a brother, Clyde Atwood of El Paso,
Texas; two sisters, Eulah Haydon of North Highlands, Calif., and Beulah F. Stamper of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren; and
eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Double Springs Baptists Church by the Rev. Mark King. Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday
at Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello.

Pallbearers will be Welby Dudy, James and William Coffey, Brian Kidd, Kenneth Mitchell and Ronnie Jones. Visitation is 6-9 p.m.

Born July 25, 1919, in Keavy, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Roetta Karr Melton and widow of Edward Bartley Kidwell.
She was a homemaker and a member of Stanford First Church of God.

Survivors include four sons, Jerry Kidwell and Ira Kidwell, both of Stanford, Johnny Kidwell of Paint Lick and Zack Bennett of
Beckley, W.Va.; four daughters, Joyce Mastin and Wanda Hawley, both of Stanford, Elizabeth June Morgeson of Phoenix, Ariz.,
and Phyllis Herring of Port Orange, Fla.; two sisters, Lydia Gilliam of Stanford and Nancy Lipcomb of Palm Beach, Fla.;
28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home by Paul Bastin. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

She died Monday. Born Nov. 9, 1940, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Wright and Lula Wright May 
of Danville. She was a housekeeping supervisor, retired from Westminister Terrace Presbyterian Church Home, a member of 
Harris Creek Baptist Church and the widow of Billy Joe Mattingly.

Additional survivors include a son, Frank A. Mattingly of Louisville; two daughters, Lynn Holsclaw of Danville and Debbie 
Hundley of Perryville; three sisters, Sue Gammon and Mary "Cookie" Burger, both of Danville, and Jean Burge of Indiana; 
and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Tiesha J. Mattingly and Teresa Sullivan.

teacher and deacon of Stanford Baptist and Fair-view Baptist churches.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at McKnight Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

 STANFORD -- Roger Miracle, 42, of Ogden, Utah, died April 15 at his home. Born Sept. 28, 1960, in Odgen, he was the son of 
Rexford and Ellen Ewer Miracle of Stanford. 

He attended Lincoln County High School and Eastern Kentucky University. He was a plumber and a member of Plumbers and 
Steam Fitters Union Local 348. 

Other survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Miracle; two brothers, Greg Miracle of Newport, Tenn., and Dustin Miracle of 
Stanford; three sisters, Margarette Roark, Rexene Fair and Donna K. Saylor, all of Stanford; and grandmother, Donna

Raymond Plummer.

Survivors include five daughters, Geraldine Akin of Campbellsville, Mary E. Singleton, Carolyn Petrey, Betty Petrey and 
Londa Ramey, all of Crab Orchard; two sons, Harold Singleton of Crab Orchard and Ronald Singleton of Pensacola, Fla.; 
four sisters, Doris Denney of Crab Orchard, Faye Weigand of Ft. Myers, Fla., Betty Johnson and Sue Wilson, both of 
Amherst, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jim Petrey and Bobby Bailey; and a daughter, Belinda Petrey.

Mrs. Maud Stone Tarkington 77, Stanford, died Tuesday at 5:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Hospital Lexington, after a long illness.
She was a native of Lincoln County and a member of the Stanford Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Mr. J.S. Tarkington, Stanford; three daughters, Mrs. Lula Dean Mossman, Dayton ,Ohio; 
Mrs. Joan Schrampfer, Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. Sudell Schmitt Bristol, Conn.; 11 grandchildren and a great grandson.

Services will be conducted today at 2:30 p.m. at the Beazley and Raney Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Harris.
Burial will be in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jon Mark Schrampfer, James Allen Schrampfer, Julian Moore, Boyd Johnson, Dr. Charles Tarkington and 
David Johnson.

Arrangements are being handled by Beazley and Raney Funeral Home.

LANCASTER -- Services for Wade Vaught, 70, of Crab Orchard Street will be 2 p.m. Friday at Spurlin Funeral Home by 
the Revs. Daryl Hodge, Don Hatton and David Young. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery. He died Tuesday at Garrard 
County Memorial Hospital. Born March 19, 1933, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Lily Wade 
Vaught. 

He was a master auto body repairman for 40 years and a member of Lancaster Nazarene Church. He served in the Army 
during the Korean War. 

Survivors include his wife, Almedia Bolton Vaught; a daughter, Monica Vaught West of Lancaster; a sister, Margaret Wade 
Teater of Stanford; and a grandchild.

CRAB ORCHARD - Services for Larry Dale Watson, 53, of Crab Orchard, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the McKnight Funeral 
Home Chapel by Gerald Carter. Burial will be in Mount Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

He died Thursday at his home. Born June 3, 1950 in Lincoln County, he was the son of Leslie Watson and the late Jewell Brown 
Watson. He worked as a welder for Mathews Conveyor in Danville and was a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church.

Other survivors include two sons, Jason Watson of Lexington and Kevin Watson of Stanford; two brothers, Hershel Watson of 
Crab Orchard and Daryl Watson of Nicholasville; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Ray Brown, Billy Griffin, Mike Yankey, Travis Watson, Jesse Manning and Clay Smith. Visitation is 
after 5:30 p.m. today at McKnight Funeral Home.

Nancy L. Westerfield, 73, of Indianapolis, Ind., died there Tuesday. 

Born July 21, 1925, in Stanford, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Bessie Harris Pendygraft. She was a homemaker, 
a former security guard and a member of South Keystone Church of Christ. She was the widow of Forrest Westerfield.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Kammerer of Indianapolis; a sister, Stella Crews of Arizona; five grandchildren; 
six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Heichelbech, and a son, Gerald Westerfield.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.

Robert Mitchell Wilkinson, 54, of Blue Lick Road, Stanford, died Tuesday at his home.

Born May 13, 1950, in Lincoln County, he was the son of Alene Wilkinson of Stanford and the late Jody Louis Wilkinson. 
He was employed by Matsushita.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Wilkinson; three daughters, Michael L. Wilkinson, Chelisa Hocker and Ladon Hocker, all 
of Stanford; a son, Robert M. Wilkinson; five brothers, Henry Wilkinson of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., Gregory Wilkinson 
of Grandview, Mo., Victor Wilkinson, James Wilkinson and and Marlin Wilkinson, all of Stanford; three sisters, Mary Routt, 
Elishia Wilkinson and Jeanne Wilkinson, all of Stanford; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church by the Rev. Jerry Wilkinson. Burial will be in 
Goode Cemetery.

James L. Woods, 73, of North Moreland Place, Moreland, died Friday at his residence.

Born Oct. 28, 1930, in Cedar Creek, Lincoln County, he was the son of the late James E. & Clara B. Redeter Woods. He was 
the widower of Barbara Chambers Woods.

He was a member of Herrington Lake Pentecostal Church and the senior citizens of Stanford.  He was a heavy equipment operator 
for Danville Construction Company.

Survivors include a daughter, Margie Warner of Perryville; and five granchildren.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, 
Bernadina Sanders.

Services are 1 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Steve VanHook. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Griffin, Alan Shepherd, Ronnie Polson, Benny Burchett, Bill Bowden, Chuck Bowden, Jim Disney and 
Gary Woods.

STANFORD - Services for E. Clyde Young, 89, of Stanford, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Stanford Baptist Church by the Rev. 
Max Hester. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

He died Wednesday at St. Joseph Hospital East in Lexington.

Born April 23, 1915, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Lucien S. Young and Susie P. Mulinix. He was a Kentucky 
Utilities service manager in Stanford for 44 years, and a member of Stanford Baptist Church where he was deacon emeritus. 
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having been stationed in Guam.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Young; a son, Bradley C. Young of Nicholasville; a daughter, Marsha Jackson of Louisville; 
a brother, Ollie Young of Danville; two sisters, Betty Metcalf of Lancaster and Mildred Gaffney of Berea; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers are deacons of Stanford Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Kernen, Jack Johnson, David Pettus, Glen Wiles, 
Gabe Gabriel, Brad Currey, Calvin Denham and T.D. Irvin.
