Born Sept. 7, 1920, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Henry and Hettie Floyd Baughman. He received
a degree in agriculture from University of Kentucky and served in the Signal Corps during World War II. He was an
active supporter of various community projects, a farmer and member of Hustonville Christian Church.

Survivors include one brother, John H. Baughman of Athens, Ala.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Don Burton. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Born Oct. 23, 1902, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Anna Belle Woods Embry. She was former
owner and co-operator of Beazley-Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home, Stanford. She was a member of Stanford Christian Church
and Buffalo Springs Cemetery Board and former president of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was the widow of
Gatewood G. Beazley.
Survivors are two daughters, Susan Cherry and Florence Beazley, both of Stanford; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Born Sept. 13, 1936, in Bullett County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Hale Cook. She was

Survivors include two sons, Russell Brown and Steve Brown, both of McKinney; two daughters, Tammy Morgan of
Moreland and Mary Ann Brown of McKinney; two brothers, Lester and Chester Cook, both of Stanford; two sisters,

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Brown.

STANFORD - Melvin Cox, 82, of Ky. 501, Kings Mountain, died Saturday at Stanford House nursing home.

Born May 12, 1922, in Gravel Switch, he was the son of the late Elus E. and Melinda Hollon Cox. A member of
Church of Christ, he was a retired employee of Danville Waterworks Department and a World War II veteran. He
was the widow of Marie Terry Cox.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Walls and Connie Bastin, both of Kings Mountain; a sister, Christine Cox of
Danville; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Clyde Lee Coy, 66, 388 Runyon Road, died Monday, June 17, 1996 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born December 16, 1929 in Lincoln county, he was the son of the late O. H. and Effie Smock Coy.

He was a retired meat manager for Kroger where he was employed for 40 years. He was a member of the Harrodsburg
Baptist Church, former superintendent of the young peoples department, teacher for 10 year old boys department, manager
of VFW baseball team, Council of Boy Scouts, operated Coy & Daughtery food booth at the Mercer County Fair and
Horse Show for over 25 years.

Survivors include: his wife, Lucille Wiley Coy, Harrodsburg; three sons, Michael Coy, Chapel Hill, NC, Larry Coy,
Lexington, Jeff Coy, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Sandy Coy Pickett, Harrodsburg; five brothers, Tab Coy, MI, Donald
Coy, Cincinnati, OH, Charles Coy, OH and Alvin Coy, FL; one sister, Joann Bates, Berea; seven grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by a sister, Alice Neal.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 19 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Wallace Carrier and
Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Teachers Association and Lincoln Lodge 60 F&AM. Survivors include his wife, Jane Raney Damron; a son, Robert R. Damron
of Nicholasville; a daughter, Mary Ann Hirschler of Frankfort; and a grandson.

Alvin Davis, 82, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Kettering Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1921, in Crab Orchard, [Lincoln County], Ky., and lived in the Middletown area since 1945. Mr.
Davis served in the U.S. Army during World War II as combat engineer. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon, Good
Conduct Ribbon, and the Bronze Battle Star for his service. He was employed as a machinist at Champion International for
42 years until retiring in 1988.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Emily Davis; a daughter, Phyllis Davis; a son, Alvin Davis Jr.; and three
sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary E. Davis; a daughter, Sherry Coldiron of Middletown;
two grandsons, Tom Howard and Michael (Kathy) Howard, both of Middletown; four great-grandchildren, Brittany Howard
of Trenton, Ohio, Zachary Howard and Kaleb Howard, both of Faubush, Ky., and Kaitlin Howard of Middletown, Ohio; a
step-great-granddaughter, Tracy Spicer of Middletown; a brother, Edward (Edna) Davis of Springfield, Ohio; and numerous
nieces and nephews.

     Earl Harmon of Liberty died August 23,1998 at Liberty Care Center.  He was 94 years old.       Born in Adair County on 
Aug. 11, 1904, he was a son of the late Creed and Lizzie Jane Long Harmon and the widower of Lexie Morgan Harmon and
Telitha Lawson Harmon.

     Survivors include a daughter, Jane Lynn of Stanford; two sons, William Harmon of Nicholasville and Charles Harman of Liberty; 18
grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

     He was prededed in death by four brothers, Jody, Haydon, Johnny and Edgar Harmon; three sisters, Minnie Montgomery, 
Mag Burton and Martha Moore; and two grandchildren.  Burial was in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

HARNESS, James Franklin, 48, of 177 Shannon Parkway, Nicholasville, former Crab Orchard mayor, died June 11 at
Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. A native of Lincoln County, he was born May 5, 1942 to the late William Bradford
and Georgia Smith Harness. He had been employed by Gulf State Newspaper Co., Nicholasville for 18 years and had
been a shipping and receiving supervisor there. He served as Crab Orchard’s mayor for several years and also as chief
of police. He was a founder and president of the East End Ambulance Service, a member of Crab Orchard Masonic
Lodge #636, a member of Oleika Temple, and a member of the University Heights Church of Lexington. Survivors include
his wife, Mildred Smith Harness; a son, Michel Donovan Harness, Nicholasville; two daughters, Kriste Dawn Harness and
Kathy Ranae Harness, both of Nicholasville; two brothers, David Eugene Harness and Richard Keith Harness, both of Crab
Orchard; three sisters, Anna L. Ledford of Cincinnati, Nona Griffin of Crab Orchard and Arlene H. Foster of Somerset.

Ind.; a brother, Edward Hensley of Fairfield, Ohio; a sister, Ada Hibbard of Hamilton, Ohio; three grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Pleasant View Baptist Church by Vola Brown and Aaron Hogue. Burial will be at

in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Lula Maddox May of Danville the late Frank Wright. She was a retired employee
of Matthew's Conveyer and a member of Junction City First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Ever Ready
Sunday School Class.

She was a United Way volunteer and a member of the Gardening Club at Matthew's Conveyer. She was the widow of
Richard Hundley. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Southerland of Stanford; three sons, Vance Curtsinger of Danville,
Kelly Curtsinger of Nicholasville and Kim Curtsinger of Junction City; four sisters, Sue Gammon, Cookie Burger and Belle
Mattingly, all of Danville, and Jean Burge of Niniveh, Ind.; six grandchildren; and her former husband, Hezekiah Curtsinger
of Morehead. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Ernest Martin. Burial will be in

he was 83 years old. Born in Casey Co on April 5,1915,he was a son of the late Ransom and Rosa Napier Hatter. He was the 
widower of Lillie Walls Hatter.

company employee and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church and Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center. She was the
widow of Isaac R. Kidd and Alva Jacobs.

SOMERSET - Emma Katherine Adams Kidd, 62, of Somerset, formerly of Garrard County, died Thursday at her residence.

Born May 13, 1942, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Milton Adams and Addie Mae Tankersley. She was
a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church in Somerset. She was president of the Eagles Nest Ladies Golf Association
and the first female to make a hole in one at Eagles Nest Country Club.

She was a board member of Eagles Nest Country Club, a member of Central Kentucky Golf Association and a member of Lake
Cumberland Ladies Golf Association.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie P. Kidd; three daughters, Sherri K. Smith of Stanford, Patricia L. Mayfield of Somerset and
Rhonda Denise Kidd of Somerset; a brother, Donald Adams of Stanford; and six grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Somerset, by the Rev. John Cole. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery.

Mr. Lee Johnson, 96, of Lee Johnson Road, Paint Lick, died Monday, April 1, 1996 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

A native of Lincoln County, he was born July 3, 1899, the son of the late John and Nannie Adams Johnson.

He was a retired farmer, an avid fox hunter, a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and the widower of Jonny Pearl Poynter Johnson.

Born Aug. 23, 1931, in Crab Orchard, he was the son of the late Gabe and Eunice Spivey Hoskins. He was a mechanic for Philips
Lighting for 42 years, a member of Vertaker Association and Harrodsburg Church of Christ.

Mrs. Effie Lee Vaught, 62, of 229 Allen Drive, Danville, died Sunday, March 17, 1996 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional
Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Born January 15, 1934, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Taylor and Edna Lucille Vaught Gilmer.

Survivors include: her husband, Sam Vaught, Jr., Danville; two sons, John Gilmer Vaught, Hustonville and Michael Lee Vaught,
Danville; one daughter, Lynda Sue Elliott, Harrodsburg; one brother, David B. Gilmer, Louisville; six grandchildren and one
great grandchild.

Services for Mrs. Vaught were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home in Danville, with the
Rev. Ernest Martin and the Rev. Greg Nimme officiating. Burial was in the Hustonville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jere Vaught, Ryan Vaught, Scott Gilmer, Colby Elliott, Jeff Goodlett and Kirby Taylor.

STANFORD - James Keith Yocum, 46, of Stanford, died Friday.

Born Sept. 25, 1957, in Stanford, he was a son of Ruth Yocum Spaw and the late Delmer Yocum. He was the widower of
Kathy Bolin Yocum. He was a farmer.

Other survivors include a daughter, Tori Yocum of Hustonville; a sister, Phyllis Durham of Stanford; a half-sister, Penny Yocum
of Liberty; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. John Cato. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Boyd, Dan Bolin, Carlisle Poynter, Carlisle Poynter Jr., Charlie Dunn and Ronnie Cox. Honorary
pallbearers will be Tommy Owens and Wayne Cox.

He died Monday at his home. Born June 3, 1950, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Carol N. and Ruth L. Cooper
Yocum. He was a construction worker and a Navy veteran of Vietnam.

Survivors include three daughters, Cammy Moore of Waynesburg, Lisa Yocum and Brandie Gastineau, both of Stanford; a son,
Ransom Harold Yocum of Yosemite; a brother, Michael Yocum of Hustonville; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Moore, Danny Gastineau, Keith Bell, Scotty Hill and Terry Wray. Honorary pallbearers are Terry
Estes, William Moore, Julian Farmer, Stanley Johnson and Clearance Manuel.
