WARRENSVILLE, Ohio - Annie Lou Alcorn of Warrensville died there July 24. Born March 14, 1936, in Mt. Salem, she was a daughter of Addison Wilkinson of Stanford and the late Sadie Wilkinson. She attended Lincoln County High School. Other survivors include her husband, Raymond Alcorn; a son, Orlando Alcorn of Warrensville; two daughters, Aracelis and Marcellina Alcorn, both of Warrensville; two brothers, Addison Wilkinson Jr. and Bobby Wilkinson, both of Stanford; a sister, Thelma Turner of Lexington; and 10 grandchildren. Services were Saturday at E.F. Boyd and Son Funeral Home, Cleveland, Ohio, by the Rev. Wilson D. Armstrong.

Services for William Bailey, 77, formerly of South Second Street, will be noon Friday at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Dave Chenault. Burial 
will be in
Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
He died Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lexington.
Born July 10, 1920, in Moreland, he was a son of the late Thomas and Nancy Carpenter Bailey. He was a janitor at Danville High School for 
19 years, a World
War II Army veteran and a former member of Moreland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Bailey of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Anna Bailey of Moreland and Ella Gooch of Stanford.
Pallbearers will be Jones Coffman, Robert Bailey Jr., Ernest Gooch Sr., Ernest Gooch Jr., Kevin Bailey and Luther Gilbert.

Services for Kathrine "Jeanette" Bartlett, 64, of Bower Road, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Jolene Bailey. 
Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.

She died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 5, 1939, in Stanford, she was the daughter of Marie Criswell Coffman and the late Charles L. Coffman.

Other survivors include three daughters, Gail Stone of Dry Ridge, Ina Pollett of Lancaster and Teresa Lambert of Stanford; two sisters, 
Edna Brown and Shirley Anness, both of Danville; two brothers, Kenneth Coffman of Perryville and Ernest Coffman of Nicholasville; 
seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Charlie and Dale Annes, Mike Kidd, Kenny and Chris Pollett, Eric Coffman and Robert Mitchell.

LAFAYETTE, Ga. - J.C. Boyle, 78, of LaFayette, died Sunday at Shepherd Hills Health Care Center.
Born March 9, 1920, in Moreland, he was a son of the late Clarence and Amanda Jones Boyle. He was a member of Catlett First Church of God 
where he served on the board of trustees and as Sunday School superintendent. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Carter Boyle; five sons, Justin Boyle Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., Dr. David P. Boyle of Athens, Ga., James Boyle of 
Tampa, Fla., William Boyle of Woodstock, Ga., and Clarence T. Boyle of Rossville; a sister, Elgeva Husar of Amherst, Ohio; a brother, 
Hartford J. Boyle of Stanford; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at LaFayette Church of God by the Revs. Lila Clay, David Boyle and Les Fauntleroy.  Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral 
Home is in charge of arrangements.

STANFORD - A memorial service for Duff Eugene "Gene" Chadwell, 101, of Venice, Fla., will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Stanford Baptist Church by 
Ralph Young and the Rev. Norman Young.

Burial will be in Mount Moriah Christian Church Cemetery. He died Nov. 24 in Venice.

Born Nov. 19, 1903, in LaFollette, Tenn., he was the son of the late Lewis and Julia Meredith Chadwell. He was a farmer and the widower of 
Mabel Mullins Chadwell.

Survivors include four sons, Bill Chadwell of Nokomis, Fla., Loyd Chadwell of Louisville, Paul Chadwell of Savannah, Ga., and Eugene Chadwell 
of Germany; two daughters, Charlotte Young of Highland and Carolyn Lancaster of Louisville; three sisters, Flo Matasoff of Dayton, Ohio, Cleo 
Brackett of Lancaster, and Leore Puterbaugh of Florida; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. (Julia Meredith Chadwell, b. 06 Mar., 1881

BEREA - Michael C. Coleman, 50, of Big Hill Road, died Nov. 11 at his home.

Born June 23, 1954, in Stanford, he was a son of Clyde and Mary Lee Shannon Coleman of Richmond. He was a former Eastern Kentucky 
University employee and a member of the First Assembly of God.

Other survivors include three sons, Chris Coleman, Joshua Coleman and Samuel Coleman, all of Berea; a daughter, Summer Coleman Chasteen 
of McKee; two brothers, Steve Coleman and Kevin Coleman, both of Richmond; and a sister, Tammy Kelly of Nicholasville.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Reppert Funeral Home by the Rev. Rodger Baker. Burial will be in Berea Cemetery.

CRAB ORCHARD - Sylvania Collett, 84, of Seymour, Ind., formerly of Lincoln County, died Sunday at Seymour Memorial Hospital. 
Born Oct. 30, 1914, in Rockcastle County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Alkie Saylor Shelton. She was the widow of Samuel 
Collett.
Survivors include a daughter, Rachel Roberts of Stanford; three sisters, Wathena Fins, Dollie Halcomb and Henrietta Smith, all of Crab Orchard; 
three brothers, Homer Shelton of Crab Orchard, Johnny Shelton of Lancaster and Charles Shelton of Rising Sun, Ind.; three grandchildren; 
five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Roberts, Henry Delaney, Joshua Caldwell, Jimmy Harrison, Charles Gray and Woodrow Saylor.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in
Wilmont Chapel Cemetery on Copper 
Creek Road.

STANFORD - Opal Denney, 65, of East Main Street, died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital's Hospice Unit in Lexington.
Born May 15, 1932, in Harlan, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Lillie Jones Gilbert. She was a homemaker and a member of Stanford Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Denney; two brothers, Ray Gilbert of Richmond and Shirley Gilbert of Stanford; and a sister, Wilma Sharp of Kokamo, Ind.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Billy Sharp. Burial will be
Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation is noon-2 p.m. Monday.

CRAB ORCHARD - Services for Dora Doughty, 93, of Crab Orchard, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. 
Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

She died Tuesday at Lancaster Christian Care Center.

Born April 30, 1911, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Virginia Blanton Munsie. She was a member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church, Women's Missionary Unit and Berean Bible Class. She was the widow of Charles H. Doughty.

Survivors include two sons, Gordon K. Doughty of Trenton, Ohio, and Russell L. Doughty of Hammersville, Ohio; two daughters, Treva Brickey of Lancaster and Connie Sims of Crab Orchard; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at McKnight Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.

MIDDLEBURG - Services for John Reid Durham, 79, of Middletown, formerly of Yosemite, will be 4 p.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home 
by the Rev. Johnie Marion. Burial will be in
Middleburg Cemetery.
Visitation is after noon today.
Mr. Durham died Friday at Baptist Hospital East. Born Dec. 10, 1917, in Yosemite, he was the son of the late Tom and Louie Estes Durham. 
He was the retired principal of Middleburg Elementary School, a member of Eastwood Christian Church, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Azalea Gibson Durham; a daughter, Dr. Renita D. Price of Louisville; a sister, Ruby Hatter of Yosemite; and three 
grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Eastwood Christian Church, 16410 Eastwood Cut-off Road, Eastwood, Ky.

ELLIOTT, Elmer A.                                                                                   d. 28 Apr 1998
Elmer A. Elliott, 85, of Lyons Court, Hustonville, a former postmaster and city councilman at Hustonville, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell 
Regional Medical Center.
Elliott was postmaster from 1956 to 1979 at the Hustonville Post Office. He also was a farmer. He also was a school teacher and administrator 
for 18 years in Casey and Lincoln counties.

He began teaching in a one-room school at Mount Olive, was principal at Moreland Elementary, and ended his career at Hustonville High School.
He served two terms from 1980-84 as a member of the Hustonville City Council. A military veteran, he served four years in the Navy.
A Casey County native, Elliott grew up in the Mount Olive community. He also was an agricultural instructor for veterans under the supervision of 
the University of Kentucky faculty. He taught veterans about farming and keeping accurate records of farm programs.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Elliott, and one son, Michael Elliott of Harrodsburg.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland.

STANFORD - Services for Georgia Eversole, 84, of Stanford, were today at Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

She died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born April 30, 1920, in Leslie County, she was the daughter of the late Jason and Annie Vanover Wells. She was owner and operator of Georgie Eversole's General Store for 25 years and a member of Dix River Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Estill Eversole; three sons, Estill Eversole Jr. of Eaton, Ohio, R.J. Eversole of Hazard and Larry Eversole of 
Hustonville; a daughter, Anna B. Sego of Stanford; two brothers, Homer Wells of Indiana and James Wells of Leslie County; five sisters, 
Rose Depoy and Melda Fields, both of Indiana, Emma Meade of Waynesburg, Lela Howard of Tennessee, and Lillian Downey of Florida; 
seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tony, Jason and Estill Eversole Jr., Steve Sego, Tommy Smock and Brian Richards.

MORELAND -- Anna Louise Gahlinger, 75, of Jeffersontown, died Thursday at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born May 25, 1926, in Mount Hope, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Lorene Brown Terrell. She was the widow of 
Robert Gahlinger. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include: a son, Anthony DeLosh of Louisville; three daughters, Bonnie Wommer of Brandenburg, Lois Marsh of Redding, Calif., and 
Carolyn Welch of Mount Washington; a brother, Dawson Terrell of Hustonville; 
five sisters, Mary Fox of Fern Creek, Jean Southerland of Jeffersontown, Dolly Helm of Louisville, Mildred Gill of Indiana and Carlene Luster of 
Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev.David Smith. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Saturday at Foreman Funeral Home and noon-2 p.m. Sunday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.
 Pallbearers will be Chris Caplinger, Terry Rawlins, Larry French, Stephen Phillips, Danny Terrell, Bart Cohen and Derrick Phillips.

MORELAND - Scott Bertram Gilmer, 61, of Danville died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 22, 1937, in Moreland, he was a son of Dortha Myers Gilmer of Moreland and the late Henry B. Gilmer. He was an employee of 84 
Lumber Co., Danville, and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Danville.
Additional survivors include his wife, Vera Gilmer; a son, Derek Gilmer of Danville; three daughters, Andrea Gilmer, Kristie Adams and Vickie 
Kidder, all of Louisville; a brother, Ronnie Gilmer of Cummins, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
Private services were held Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Jimmy Lehman. Burial was in
Hustonville Cemetery.
 Pallbearers were Derek Gilmer, Larry Crowe, Alex Alford, Chuck Wilkerson, Wendell King and Tony Floro.

Center.Born Dec. 8, 1916, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Green Lee Bastin and Bertha Roy Bastin. She was a homemaker, 
the widow of Arnold Godbey, and a member of Valley Oak Baptist Church in Casey County.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Pike of Nicholasville and Juanita Shelton of Crab Orchard; five sons, Russell Godbey, Travis Godbey, 
Kenneth Godbey and Edward Godbey, all of Perryville, and Neal Godbey of Danville; four sisters, Iona Gooch, Shirley Durbin and Dorothy 
Williams, all of Cincinnati, and Bonnie Jean Carren of Mount Olive; four brothers, Ralph Bastin of Eubank, Beacher Bastin of Cincinnati, Robert 
Bastin of Kings Mountain and Verlis Bastin of Florida; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services will 11 a.m. Monday at Wilder Funeral Home by Burl Coffman. Burial will be in
Valley Oak Cemetery in Casey County.  
Pallbearers will be Jesse Shelton II, Larry Bottoms, John Rousey, Danny Godbey, Lee Phillips and Adam Hughes.

STANFORD - Visitation for John Ashmore Gower, 74, of U.S. 150 West, will be 4-7 p.m. today at The Presbyterian Church of Danville.

He died Nov. 15 at his home. Born Aug. 14, 1930, in Raleigh, N.C., he was a farmer, a member of The Presbyterian Church of Danville and 
a driver for Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Noe Gower; two daughters, Cindi Lacy of Danville and Louise Godshall of Shelbyville; a son, Stith Gower 
of Madison, Wis.; a brother, Col. Perrin W. Gower of Alexandria, Va.; and four grandchildren. Fox Funeral Home in Stanford is in charge of arrangements.

Born May 16, 1903, in Pike County, she was a daughter of the late B.I. and Mellie Collins Greer. She was a homemaker and a member of 
First Church of God.
She was the widow of Lloyd Walker Griffin.
Survivors include a son, Wenzel B. Griffin of Christiansburg, Ohio; a sister, Sabra Bloom of Astibula, Ohio; seven grandchildren; eight 
great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Eard and Thomas Griffin.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by the Rev. A.F. Atwood. Burial will be in
Singletontown

MORELAND - Sybil T. Grubbs, 62, of Indianapolis, died Wednesday at Greenwood Convalescent Home in Indianapolis.
Born Aug. 31, 1934, in McKinney, she was a daughter of the late Howard B. and Melissa Hall Grubbs. She was a key punch operator with 
General Motors Corp., and worked for P.R. Mallory. She was a graduate of Hustonville High School.
Survivors include three sisters, Ada B. Russell of Harrodsburg, Edith Vondenhuevel of Indianapolis and Jewel Knickerbocker of Genesee, Mich.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne Watts. Burial will be in
Hustonville Cemetery.

WAYNESBURG -- Services for Charles G. Guinn, 83, of Lexington, formerly of Waynesburg, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Barnett & 
Demrow Funeral Home by Brad King. Burial will be in
Double Springs Cemetery.
He died Monday at Homestead Nursing Home in Lexington.
Born May 27, 1916, in Pulaski County, he was a son of the late Charles S. and Myrtle Vanover Guinn. He was a salesman for Ed Buis 
Furniture and Appliances for 16 years and a farmer. He was a former Sunday School director for Double Springs Baptist Church and a 
member of Disabled American Veterans. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the recipient of a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. 
He was a past master of Waynesburg Masonic Lodge 328.
Survivors include his wife, Magel Day Guinn; two sons, Roy Guinn of Stanford and Charles Guinn Jr. of Lexington; two daughters, Linda 
Caudill of Campbellsville and Sue Gooch of Richmond; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

of Eubank Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Thomas J. Hackney of Waynesburg and Sidney Hackney of Eubank; and a sister, Agnes Blake of Rockville, Ind.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by the Rev. Vola Brown. Burial will be in
Eubank Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Della M. Vaught Hale; a daughter, Gail Turpin of Ellisburg, a brother, Marvin Hale of Somerset; three grandchildren, 
one great-grandchild and one step great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by G.W. Smith. 
Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

CAMP NELSON -- James D. Hansford, 45, of Magnolia, Texas, formerly of Lincoln County, died March 26 in Texas.

He was the son of Frances L. Hansford of Houston, Texas, and the late Marshall Hansford. He was a 1975 graduate of Lincoln County High School 
and a graduate of Jan Jacinto College in Houston. He was an employee of PPI Technology Services. He was an Army veteran and a member of 
Stanford Baptist Church.

Other survivors include his wife, Debbie P. Hansford; a son, Michael Hansford of Houston; two daughters, Tyra Miracle of Lexington and Ashley 
Hansford of Houston; a sister, Sallie H. Cantu of Houston; a brother, Gabe L. Hansford of Houston; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County.

was a Navy veteran of World War II and the widower of Lillian Russell Jones.

Cooley of Franklin, Tenn.; two brothers, Elwood Jones of Stanford and Kenneth Jones of Liberty; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; two

He was born November 12th, 1941 in Casey County, Kentucky, a son of the late Leon McMullin and Blanche Shea McMullin. He was a 
truck driver. 
He is survived by one son; John Ray McMullin, California: two daughters; Gerri Sue (Mark) Wunder, Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Jennifer 
( Todd) Adams, Sellersburg, Indiana: two brothers; Gilbert McMullin, Lexington, Kentucky and Michail McMullin, Eubank, Kentucky: 6 
grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5th , 2004 at the Chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral

Born Nov. 29, 1926, in Moreland, he was the son of the late Luther and Pearl Reynolds McMullin. He was a retired engineer for Southern 
Railway after 30 years of service. He was a member of Ludlow First Baptist Church where he was a deacon for 45 years, a member of the 
worship choir, and worked with the church youth program.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Rousey McMullin; a son, David W. McMullin of Ludlow; a daughter, Yolanda Mitchell of Ludlow; a brother, 
Carl McMullin of  Moreland; two sisters, Virginia McGirr and Shirley McMullin, both of Moreland; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson. 
He was preceded in death by a son, Glen W. McMullin.

Services will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Ludlow and 2 p.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Ernest Martin.

Opal Russell-Sample, of West Point; a brother, John Porter of Danville, 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by

MORELAND - Floyd Peyton, 85, of Hustonville, a local businessman, died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. 
Peyton was a farmer and a banker, having served on the board of directors of Peoples Bank of Hustonville. In 1983, he was elected president 
and chairman of the board of directors of the bank, which is now known as Peoples Bank of Kentucky. 

He also was owner and operator of a skating rink and service station in Hustonville for many years. He was a former chief of Hustonville Fire 
Department and a member of Hustonville Lions Club. He was a member of Moreland United Methodist Church and served as chairman of the 
board and Sunday School teacher. 

Born Oct. 29, 1913, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Joel and Ollie T. Ellis Peyton. 

Survivors include his wife, Doris Carman Galloway Peyton; two stepdaughters, Lois Sills of Columbia, S.C., and Beverly Hoskins of Liberty; 
and a stepson, Luther Galloway of Junction City; a brother, Ralph Peyton of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Mae Price of Liberty and Ethel 
Kelley of Barberton, Ohio; and nine step grandchildren.

SCIENCE HILL - Martha Greer Russell, 71, of Tampa, Fla., formerly of Lincoln County, died Monday in Tampa.

Born Feb. 15, 1933, in Stanford, she was the daughter of the late Curtis L. and Gertie Morgan Greer. She was a registered nurse and a 
director of nursing. She was an advocate for senior citizens and instrumental in raising standards in long-term care. She was
recognized for
 her excellence in nursing, and the Florida Nurses Association has established the Martha G. Russell Nursing Scholarship in her honor. 
She was inducted into the FNA Nursing Hall of Fame in Orlando. She was a member of Pilot Baptist Church in Eubank.

Survivors include her husband, George W. Russell; a son, Michael R. Russell of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Judy R. Byers of Louisville; 
two brothers, Royal Greer of Corbin and Curtis Greer Jr. of Eubank; three sisters, Ernestine Williams of Eubank, Barbara Mullins of Cincinnati 
and Sandra Gooch of Villa Ricco, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

CRAB ORCHARD -- James R. "Jim" Sizemore, 62, of Shake Rag Road, Waynesburg, died Saturday.
Born Feb. 4, 1940, in Crab Orchard, he was the son of the late Dee and Louada Thompson Sizemore. He was a retired mechanic for 
Portman Equipment. 
Survivors include a daughter, Tina Sizemore of Stanford; a son, Jimmy Sizemore of Waynesburg; a step-daughter, Julie Pennington of 
Indianapolis; a companion, Loretta Phillips of Stanford; a brother, Ronnie Sizemore of Crab Orchard; four sisters, Ruby Shakelford of 
Crab Orchard, Mildred Church of Cincinnati, Edna Quesenberry of New Paris, Ohio, and Wilma Coffey of Centerville, Ind.; and two 
step grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McKnight Funeral Home by Dan Gutenson. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Dick, Bryan Gover, Johnny Anderson, Kevin Corman, George Messer and Harold Martin. Honorary pallbearers 
are Ronnie Sizemore, James Phillips, Alan Turner, Doug Pennington, Dale Dowell, Neal Owens and Kenny Smith.

STANFORD - Barbara Jean Moore Smith, 72, of Hustonville, died Sunday at Stanford House nursing home.

Born Sept. 28, 1932, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mattie Carrier Moore. She was a homemaker 
and a charter and founding member of Redemption Road Church. She was the widow of Harold L. Smith.

Survivors include a son, Ezekiel Smith of Yosemite; two daughters, Veronica Yocom of Stanford and Julia Reid of Hustonville; four 
brothers, Freddie Moore of Chase City, Va., Larry Moore and Charlie Moore, both of Hustonville, and Bennie Moore of McKinney; 
eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mark Todd, Jackie Owens, Ronald Maples, Ronnie Maples, David Smith and Larry Privett.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Redemption Road Church by Terry Lawwill and Gary Yocom. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery
Fox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

WAYNESBURG -- Henry Clay "Smitty" Smith, 72, of U.S. 27 South in Waynesburg died Friday at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
Born Aug. 1, 1930, in Waynesburg, he was the son of the late Dean and Nina Diamond Smith. He was a past master of Lincoln 
Masonic Lodge No. 60 F&AM, a member of Lincoln Chapter No. 486 Order of the Eastern Star, Lexington Scottish Rite, a Kentucky Colonel, 
former District Deputy for Grand Lodge No. 21, York Rite, Gideons International and the Somerset Odd Fellows Lodge No. 238. He was a U.S. 
Air Force sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 44 years in the propane bottled gas business and was a member of the Somerset 
Baptist Temple.
Survivors include a son, Henry "Hank" Smith II of Berglangenbach, Germany; two daughters, Cindy Fields of Nicholasville and Sherry Carrender 
of Burnside; one stepdaughter, Gail Gastineau of Stanford; two brothers, Thomas Smith of Palm Bay, Fla., and Charles Smith of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 
two sisters, Kathleen Sassman of Delavin, Ill., and Ellen Lawson of Covington; three grandchildren; two step-grand-children; and two step 
great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Somerset Baptist Temple by David Carr. Burial will be at Double Springs Cemetery in Waynesburg with military 
rites by Caswell-Saufley Post No. 18 of the American Legion and Masonic Rites by Lincoln Lodge No. 60.

Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Monday at Somerset Baptist Temple. Scottish Rites Rose Croix services are 7:30 tonight

MORELAND - Delbert Lee Southerland, 62, of Moreland, died Tuesday in Lincoln County of natural causes.
Born March 23, 1936, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Sid and Ethel Shepperson Southerland. He was a retired employee of 
Trim Masters, Harrodsburg, where he worked for 10 years, and was a former 13 year employee of ATR maintenance department. He 
was a member of Moreland First Baptist Church, and Hustonville Lodge 184. He was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Carey Southerland; two sons, Randy Southerland of Moreland and Keith Southerland of Stanford; a 
daughter, Lisa Robinson of Hustonville; three brothers, Robert Southerland of Stanford, Buddy Southerland of Parksville and Paul 
Southerland of Gravel Switch; three sisters, Edith Terrell of Hustonville, Laura Pearl Wilson of Danville and Agnes Mark of Florence; and 
four grandsons.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Glen Johnson. Burial will be in
Hustonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Payton, Bud Jeffries, Mike Dean, Robert Gisler, Richard Miles and Paul Rice.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m.

WAYNESBURG -- James Freeman Stamper, 64, died Monday at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Ind.
Born Nov. 21, 1938, in Waynesburg, he was the son of Madge L. Bitner Stamper and the late Eugene G Stamper. He was a 
self-employed tool and dye maker for 40 years and former apprentice for Western Electric.
Survivors include his mother, Madge L. Bitner Stamper of Indianapolis, Ind.; a son, James E. Stamper of Dumfries, Va.; a daughter, Julia A. 
Stamper of Hertford, N.C.; a brother, Richard E. Stamper of Terre Haute, Ind.; a sister, Donna Kay Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.; and five 
grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Double Springs Cemetery. 
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are being handled by Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home.

in Indiana, he was a son of Lucille Carter Statum of Junction City and the late Edgar Statum. He was a former employee of Penn 
Ventilator, where he worked for many years, and a member of Shelby Baptist Church. Additional survivors include a daughter, Tammy 
Pendygraft of Ft. Wright; a son, Patrick Statum of Junction City; and a brother, Edgar Statum of Junction City. Services will be 2 p.m.

MIDDLEBURG - Services for Fay Thompson, 71, of Hustonville, were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Middleburg Baptist Church 
by the Rev. Tim Roberts. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. 

She died Thursday at her home. 

Born Sept. 23, 1927, in Greenwood, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Fred and Ruth Adams Delk. She was a former deputy 
clerk in Casey and Lincoln counties and a former Casey County tax commissioner. She was a member of Middleburg Baptist Church 
and a  Kentucky Colonel. She was the widow of Clayton Thompson. 

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Floyd of Yosemite and Patty Black of Hustonville; five brothers, Fred Delk Jr. of California, 
Ky., Ray Delk of Hustonville, Jim Delk and Johnny Delk, both of Middleburg, and Jack Delk of Edinburg, Ind.; four sisters, Peggy 
Melton of Fairland, Ind., Sarah Moore of Hustonville, Sue Thompson of Springfield, Tenn., and Judy Clark of Dunnville; and two
grandchildren. 

Visitation is 8-11:45 a.m. today at Bartle Funeral Home and after 12:30 p.m. today at the church.

MORELAND - Wanda Mae Turpin, 47, of Hustonville died Wednesday at her home in Casey County from natural causes.
Born June 10, 1950, Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Johnny and Helen Jones Jeffries. She had been manager of Hickory 
Hills Market for about five and half years and attended Ellisburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Randall Turpin; a daughter Janice Richards of Hustonville; two sisters, Nancy Brooks of Hustonville and 
Shirley Jenkins of Willisburg; two brothers, Robert and James Jeffries, both of Hustonville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. G.W. Smith. Burial will be in

HARRODSBURG - Webster L. "Web" Wilson, 82, of Salvisa, died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 11, 1922, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Leeman and Pearl Trimble Wilson. He was retired from Southern 
Railway where he was in signal maintenance. He was an Army veteran of World War II and recipient of Bronze Stars and a Silver Star. 
He was a member of
Shakertown Baptist Church, McKinney Masonic Lodge and American Legion. He was the widower of Permelia 
"Pam" Fletcher Wilson.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Wilson of Lincoln County and David Wilson of Salvisa; a daughter, Dr. Rebecca Martin of Charenton, La.; 
three sisters, Christine Wilson and Alice Blanton, both of Hustonville, and Frances McKee of Waynesburg; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Joe Smith. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with military rites.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Godby, Keith Kirkpatrick, Dr. Lee Simpson, Jeremy Simpson, Lee Horner and Patrick Cobett. Honorary 
pallbearer is Clyde Majors.

She died Monday at Charleston Health Care Center.
Born Feb. 18, 1917, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late Ezra and Margaret Martin Taylor. She was an employee of Abco Co., 
Cincinnati, Ohio, a homemaker and a member of New Life Church of God of Prophecy. She was the widow of Willie D. Woods.
Survivors include seven sons, Jack Woods of Bethelridge, Larry Woods of Lexington, Roger Woods of Somerset, Eddie and Vince Woods 
of Cincinnati, James Woods of Science Hill, and Terry Woods of Waynesburg; a daughter, Norma Barker of Cincinnati; 19 grandchildren; 
and several great-grandchildren.

LIBERTY - Oscar Jack Wright, 68, of Kings Mountain, died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born June 30, 1929, in North Carolina, he was a son of the late Elijah and Kate Hunter Wright. He was a gate dealer, a Navy veteran and a 
member of Waynesburg Masonic Lodge and Pond Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Lawson Wright; four sons, Jeff Wright and Tom Wright, both of Kings Mountain, Jackie Wright of Waynesburg 
and Roy Wright of North Carolina; two brothers, Therman Wright of North Carolina and Alvin Wright of Florida; two sisters, Marie Tilley and Leo Easterling, both of North Carolina; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home by the Rev. Gordon Chaney. Burial will be in
Double Springs Cemetery.
