died Saturday at Georgetown
Community Hospital of complications associated with pneumonia and congestive
heart failure.
Born Aug. 10, 1927, in Waynesburg, he was a son of the late Leroy and Lillie F.
Oaks Adams. He was a farmer and attended
the Baptist church. Survivors
include three sons, Eugene Adams of Waynesburg and Randy and Hershel Adams, both
of Crab
Orchard; seven daughters, Juanita Rousey and Dorothy Saylor, both of Lancaster,
Gerri White and Judy Petrey, both of
Georgetown, Carolyn Townsend of Monroe, Ohio, Vivian Denny of Crab Orchard and
Wanda Toney of Somerset; a sister,
Lou Goforth of Liberty; a brother, Bradley Adams of Waynesburg; 20
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children, Williard Jr. and Arlene Adams.Services
will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at McKnight-Martin
Funeral Home by the Rev. Cecil Roundtree. Burial will be in Mount Hebron
Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph L. Anthony; a daughter, Joelle A. Anthony
of Louisville; a sister, Bettie F. Wheeler of Louisville;
and two brothers, Larry M. Jones of Lexington and William J. Jones of Frankfort.
Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Greater Bethel Temple Apostolic Church.
Burial will be in Green Meadow Cemetery.

Friday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born Dec. 2, 1959, in Cincinnati, he was the son of Pauline Denny and the late
James E. Barnett.

Barbara Allen of Stanford, and Margaret Lamb and

Lancaster, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Rev. James

She died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.
Born March 24, 1910, in Garrard County, she was the
daughter of the late Edmond and Belle Pollard Bourne. She was retired from Palm
Beach Co. and was a homemaker and oldest member of First Presbyterian Church of
Lancaster.
Survivors include nieces Norma Zanone, Margie Wardlow and
Allene Dollins, all of Lancaster; and nephews Louis Ball and Russell Ball, both
of Lancaster.
Pallbearers will be John and Joe Ball, John, Aaron and Nick
Marsee and Wesley Zanone.
Honorary pallbearers are elders of First Presbyterian
Church.

will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley
Post 18, American Legion. He died Saturday at home.
Born Oct. 30, 1924, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Ben and Addie Troxel Boyd. He was a Baptist and a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mae Boyd; a daughter, Dema "Dee" Boyd Terry of Stanford; a stepdaughter, Brenda Perry McFerron of Stanford; two stepsons, Ronnie and Bobby Woods, both of Indiana; three sisters, Rosie Poynter of Lancaster, Nellie Sue Goode of Danville and Imogene Baker of Columbus, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Boyd Jones, and a son, Jerry D. Boyd.

Veterans Administration Hospital in Lexington.
Born Oct. 19, 1929, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Jess and
Dorothy Bastin Britton. He was a retired farmer and belonged to Mount Hebron
Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Vernice Dowell Britton; two sons, Bill Britton of
Louisville and Homer Britton of Colfax, Ind.; one daughter, Mary Oaks of
Waynesburg; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church by Dan Gutenson.
Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Elmer Dowell, Elvie Dowell, Ronnie Kidd, Joe
Morhinners, Lowell Saylor, Farley Siler, David Garrison and Paul Oaks.

Mae McKinney Bullock, 88, of Barbourville, formerly of Lincoln County, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 3, 2004 in Knox County Hospital. She was a daughter of the late James and Liza Brown McKinney, born on August 28, 1915 in Rockcastle County.
Ms. Bullock was a former homemaker and a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Waynesburg. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
In 1930, she united in marriage with Grover Bullock in Rockcastle County and to this union three children were born.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Monroe Bullock; one sister, Ina Reynolds and four brothers, Arthur, Clyde, Robert and Bailey McKinney.
Survivors include two children, Mary Rose Choate and husband Jack of Barbourville and Philip Bullock and wife Connie of Windsor; one brother whom she raised, E.J. McKinney and wife Lucy of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Gary Bullock, Cindy Baker and husband Jim, Tina Bullock and Philip "Bud" Bullock; three step grandchilden, James, Yvondia and Tonya; two great grandchildren, Jackson and Falyn Baker; five special nieces, Pat, Debbie, Cathy, Sherry and Vickie; one special nephew, Michael; among other loved ones and dear friends who mourn her passing.
Her funeral service was conducted in Knox Funeral Home Chapel Sunday, June 6 with Bro. Vola Brown officiating. Interment was in Barbourville Cemetery. Casketbearers were family and friends. Arrangements were under the direction of Knox Funeral Home.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at Tisdale-Lann Funeral Home.

Born Oct. 31, 1913, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Reid and Macdella Cundiff Coffey. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, an Army veteran of World War II and the widower of Juey McDonald Coffey and Ruby Wright Coffey.
Survivors include a son, Donald S. Coffey of Hustonville; a grandson; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Coffey.

and Leura Robinson Cook. He was employed
by the Transportation Department for ARMCO Steel and an Air Force veteran of the
Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Willena Smallwood Cook; one son, Kelly R.

Connie (Daniel) Duell of West Chester, OH.; one brother, Condy (Nancy) Cook,

Steve Allen Coulter, 61, of Moreland died Tusday, Jan. 24 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
A native of Danville, he was born April. 19, 1944 to the late Thomas and Reva Mu Satterly Coulter. He was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold Coulter; and one sister, Geraldine Coulter.
Survivors include one son, Ashley (Kimberly) Coulter of Knoxville, TN; seven brothers, Sidney, Billy, and Donald Coulter all of Moreland, Thomas Coulter of Nashville, TN., Glen Coulter of Junction City, Franklin Rokey Coulter of Peabody, MA., and Gary Coulter of Groten, CT.; four sisters, Anna Margaret Curtis of Danville, Doris Stafford and Wilma Adams both of Fairland, IN, and Shirley Coulter of Moreland.

A native of Wallins Creek, she was born June 20, 1949 to the late Ben and Sara Morgan Brock. She was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Bennie Ray Baker, Henry Goble Baker, and Daniel Burdette Cummins all of Crab Orchard; one daughter, Sara Jane Cummins of Crab Orchard; four brothers, David, Jimmy, Benny, and Jack Brock all of Brodhead; three sisters, Nancy Miller, Donnie Sue Poynter, and Betty Brock; and two grandchildren, Stephanie Ann Bishop and Destiny Ann Randolph.

Born June 29, 1935, in Ellisburg, Lincoln Co., she was a daughter of the late Franklin Pierce and Della Leathers Land. She was a seamstress at Palm Beach Co. for 30 years and a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Lincoln Davis; four daughters, Susan Davis Teater of Lancaster, Barbara Terry, Connie Davis Hale and Shanna Peck, all of Stanford; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Teater, Johnny Terry, Josh Peck, Jamison Teater, Cody Terry and Drew Terry. Honorary pallbearers are Jade Teater, Drafton Peck, Darryl Peck, Hugh Davis, Wilma Davis and Roberta Lynn.

Born June 7, 1917, in Clay County, she was the granddaughter of the late Vina Weaver.
She was retired from Holiday Inn North, Lexington, having worked as a banquet manager.
She also worked at Begley Drug Store for several years and was owner and operator of Gateway Restaurant for 12 years.
She was a member of Hebron Lakeside Church, Lincoln County Democratic Women's Club and Business and Professional Women's Club of Stanford.
She was the widow of Jimmy Gilbert.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Gilbert and Buckwheat Gilbert, both of Stanford, and Dickie Gilbert of Lancaster; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Teddy Gilbert.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, and Chris Mingo and Jimmy Newcomb.

Born May 18, 1966, she was the daughter of Jerry Gideon and the late Iona Taylor. She was a homemaker and member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Godbey; a son, Joshua Godbey of Stanford; two brothers, Larry Wheeler of Moreland and Vincent Gideon of Mitchellsburg; and a sister, Debbie McIntosh of Mackville.

A native of Casey Co., he was born May 9, 1949 to Minnie Ethel Lane Luster of Casey County and the late James Arlos Luster. He worked for over 27 years at Hester Feed Store and owned and operated Luster Mowing Service. He had been a member of Hustonville Pentecostal Church since 1984.
Other survivors include his wife, Brenda Sue Propes Luster of Hustonville; one son, George Webb Jr. of Harris Creek Road; two daughters, Tammy Luster of Liberty and Connie Peck of Danville; one brother, Homer Glenwood Luster of Hustonville; 16 grandchildren; and a best friend, Johnny Propes.

He was a retired Lincoln County Highway Department supervisor, a farmer, former owner/operator of Napier Gulf Station, and a member of Lincoln Lodge #60 F & AM and the Neals Creek United Methodist Church for 50 years. He also enjoyed fishing and talking and visiting with friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronal Napier.
Survivors include his wife, Alsie Wilder Napier of Stanford; three sons, Paul (Wanda) Napier, Bill (Brenda) Napier, and Gary (Kathy) Napier all of Stanford; one step son, Stephen (Tammy) Dean of Stanford; two daughters, Virda (Bernie) Zars of and Marilyn Floyd both of Stanford; one sister, Wilma Howell of Salem, IN.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.

SOMERSET - Donald G. Sims, 56, of Ferguson, died Sunday at his home.
Born Sept. 29, 1947, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Earnest and Lora Falconberry Sims.
He was a forklift operator for Arvin Industries and retired after 30 years.
Survivors include his former wife, Betty L. Sims of Franklin, Ind.; a daughter, Michelle McKain of Franklin; three brothers, Willard Sims of Bethelridge, Darrell Sims of Danville and Randy Sims of Campbellsville; four sisters, Imogene Durham of Liberty, Carol Cook of Ferguson, Francis Sneed of Franklin and Bernice Whitaker of Eubank; a granddaughter; and two stepgrandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Lange and New Brothers Funeral Home by Roger Dykes and Ray Arnold. Burial will be in Pond Cemetery, Waynesburg.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Homer Franklin Sims, 82, of Silver Star Road, Somerset, died Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
A native of Pulaski Co., he was born Oct. 21, 1923 to the late Charles Sims and Laura Belle Gibson Sims. He was a farmer, affiliated with the Baptist faith, an avid hunter and mechanic, and the widower of Gertrude E. Whitis Sims.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Sims.
Survivors include two sons, Donald (Kathy) Sims and Gerald (Vicki) Sims both of Somerset; two daughters, Edna (Jearl) Bullock of Woodstock and Beverly (David) McClure of Mt. Vernon; nine grandchildren, Mike (Lynn) Sims, Kristi (Brian) Preston, Brian Sims, Scott (Stephanie) Bullock, Monica (Jeff) Dillingham, Ashley Sims and Anthony Sims, Shonda (Wayne) Gross and Rhonda (Kenneth) Evans; and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Morris and Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill with Bro. Bradley Goforth officiating. Burial was in the Eden Cemetery in Somerset.

PERRYVILLE - Jesse James Wade Valencia, 23, of Brumfield Road, Perryville, died Saturday in Columbia, Mo.
Born Feb. 22, 1981, in Boyle County, he was the son of Lupe Valencia of Springfield and Linda Baugh Valencia of Perryville. He was a student at University of Missouri, studying pre-law and journalism, and was night auditor at Campus Inn Motel. He was a member of Doctors Fork Baptist Church.
Other survivors include two sisters, Maria and Rachel Valencia, both of Perryville; grandparents, Harold and Connie Baugh of Perryville and Elias Valencia of Springfield; and his great-grandmothers, Virgie Baugh of Perryville and Gillerma Ramirez of Mexico.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Lanham. Burial will be in the Baugh Family Cemetery in Boyle County.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday.

PERRYVILLE Services for Jesse James Wade Valencia, 23, of Perryville, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wilder Funeral Home by Jerry Lanham. Burial will be in the family cemetery.
He died Saturday in Columbia, Mo.

MORELAND - Services for Elsie Mae Means Wooten, 75, of Hustonville, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. David Smith. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
She died Wednesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born March 16, 1930, in Lincoln County, she is the daughter of the late Julius and Stella Mae Martin Means. She was a homemaker and a member of the Moreland Christian Church. She was the widow of Hollis J. Wooten.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Fair of Hustonville; three brothers, Harold Means and Lloyd Means of Casey County, and Donald Means of Stanford; three sisters, Anna Godbey of Mount Salem, Mary Dotson of Indiana and Helen Jarrett of Indianapolis, Ind.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Gover, Billy Myers, Dale Smith, Elwood Brown, Jim
Kelley and Vaudie Griffin.

Benny Lee Wray, 48, of Aspen Drive, died Wednesday at his home of
complications associated with cancer.
Born Sept. 26, 1951, in Burgin, he was a son of Elizabeth Martin Wray of
Danville and the late William Wray. He was an employee of Timberland, attended
Salt River Baptist Church and held a black belt in Karate.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta S. Durham Wray; two sons, Robbie Wray of
Harrodsburg and Doug Wray of Springfield; a daughter, Ashley Wray of Waynesburg;
three stepsons, Chris Essex and Ben Wray, both of Springfield, and Scott Everett
of Moreland; a stepdaughter, Lori Everett-Evans of Danville; three sisters,
Thelma White and Nancy Stamper Keeling, both of Danville, and Faye White of
Harrodsburg; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Bob Bausum.
Burial will be in the Durham Family Cemetery, Rockcastle County.
