Emma Jean Adams, 76, of Dogwood Trail, London, Kentucky, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at her residence.

Born April 9, 1928, in Appalachia, Virginia, she was a factory worker for Caron Spinning Co., a school bus monitor, and a member of the London Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and John Napier; her husband, Lee E. Adams; two sisters, Laura Ball and Dorothy Harris; and two brothers, Bill Napier and Hub Napier.

Survivors include two sons, James Adams and Jerry Adams, both of London, Kentucky; two daughters, Connie Dugger and Teresa Howard, both of London, Kentucky; four sisters, Ollie Blackburn, Cindy Nicely, both of London, Kentucky, Hazel Brock of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, and Geraldine Ely of Kingsport, Tennessee; a brother, Henry Napier of London, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Delmer Gross officiating.

Services for Carl Jeffrey "Jeff" Alcorn, 68, of Grove City, Ohio, will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. James AME Church by the Rev. William Jenkins. Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery.

Born Sept. 2, 1937, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Vernon W. and Mattie P. Alcorn. After graduating in 1957 from Bate High School, he joined the Air Force and later joined the Army, retiring in 1977. He earned several awards and medals, including the Bronze Star for service in Vietnam. He also retired after 22 years with the Ohio Civil Service. He retired as head of the Office of Civil Rights Commission under the Industrial Commission of Ohio.

He was a founding charter member of the T.O. Tees Golf Club and president of the Wedge Club in Columbus, Ohio.

Survivors include a son, Uriah Alcorn of Columbus; a sister, Helen D. Alcorn of Atlanta; and four brothers, Melvin Alcorn and Charles Alcorn, both of Danville, Raymond Alcorn of Cleveland, Ohio, and H. Kenneth Alcorn of Dayton, Ohio.

CRAB ORCHARD – John Wesley Asher, 80, of Ky. 3245, died Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.

Born Sept. 16, 1923, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Beldon "B.G." and Maultie Langdon Asher. He was a member of Community Worship Church of God and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley J. Hendrickson Asher; four sons, Michael Asher of Richmond, Ind., Keith Asher of Brodhead, Wesley Asher of Louisville and Kevin Asher of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Sandra Hampton of Pikeville; four sisters, Helen Wilson of Richmond, Ind., Callie Howard and Norma Floyd, both of Brodhead, and Marion Byrd of Lynn, Ind.; three brothers, Raymond Asher of Crab Orchard, Beldon Asher Jr. of New Salisbury, Ind., and Waldo Asher of Georgetown; 20 grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Community Worship Church of God. Burial will be in Piney Grove Cemetery with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion, of Stanford

WAYNESBURG - Services for Leona Baugh, 87, of Brookville, Ind., formerly of Waynesburg, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by the Rev. Ron Barnett. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.

Born March 19, 1919, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Arilla Burke Mullins. She was the widow of Cecil Baugh.

Survivors include a son, Lee Baugh of Ocala, Fla.; four sisters, Louie Davidson of Cincinnati, Donvia Measle of Rosedale, Ind., Ruth Mitchell of Indiana and Ilma Thompson of Christiansburg, Ohio; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Marcella Locke and Elwanda Harrison.

Born March 27, 1909, in Crab Orchard, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Ross. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut streets, and the widow of William A. Bright.

Survivors include a son, Curtis L. Bright of Crab Orchard; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Crab Orchard Baptist Church by the Rev. Oliver Miller Jr. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles Mucker Jr., Gary Lawless, James Vandiver, William Mucker, Glen Gooch and James Thomas Bright.

Honorary pallbearers are Calvin Dunn, George Reed, William Smith and Doug Reed. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

SCIENCE HILL - Jerad Nolen Burton, 16, of Waynesburg, died Monday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born July 28, 1989, in Stanford, he was a son of Jeff Burton and Becky Chaney Burton, both of Waynesburg. He was a student at Lincoln County High School and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church.

Other survivors include two brothers, Logan C. Burton and Bradlee A. Burton, both of Waynesburg; and grandparents, Gordon and Rebecca Chaney of Eubank and Sonny and Aileen Burton of Nancy.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home by J.E. Hall. Burial will be in Wesley's Chapel Cemetery, Somerset.

Born May 13, 1933, in Casey County, he was a son of Mae Peaveyhouse Coffman of Junction City and the late Johnny Coffman. He was a farmer.
Survivors include three brothers, Vernal Coffman, James W. Coffman and Shirley E. Coffman, all of Junction City; and a sister, Margie Coffman of Junction City.

WAYNESBURG - Arthur L. Collins, 91, of Nicholasville, formerly of Waynesburg, died Saturday at Humana Hospital in Lexington.
Born April 2, 1905, in Pike County, he was a son of the late Irvin and Martha Mullins Collins. He was an electrician and farmer. He was a member of Burgin Baptist Church and Lincoln Masonic Lodge No. 60, F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Addington Collins; two sons, Thomas Collins of Boston, Ky., and Steve Collins of Lexington; and four daughters, Velma Ware and Peggy Estes, both of Lexington, Barbara Goodlett of Woodstock, Ga., and Linda Vaught of Somerset.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by the Rev. Steve Ross. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.

STANFORD - Services for Charles Henry Coulter, 68, of Stanford, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Baptist Church by the Revs. Gary King and Chris Dalton. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with military rites by Caswell-Saufley Post 18 of the American Legion.

Born Dec. 16, 1937, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Hayden and Blanche Henry Coulter. He was retired from Ford Motor Co. after 30 years as a millwright, and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran and a member and junior warden of Masonic Lodge 60, and a member of Oleika Shrine Temple, Hillbilly Clan of Shriners and United Auto Workers.

Survivors include his wife, Francis Horn Adams Coulter; two sons, Chuck Coulter of Danville and Tony Coulter of Michigan; two stepsons, Rick Adams of Stanford and Gary Adams of Lancaster; two stepdaughters, Rhonda Draper of Danville and Karen Hogue of Moreland; a brother, Robert Coulter of Stanford; a sister, Francis Keith of Lancaster; and seven grandchildren.

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Philip Warren Davis Sr., 82, of Trenton, Ohio, died April 6 at Middletown Regional Hospital.

Born Oct. 15, 1923, in Stanford, he was a son of the late Isabelle and Leon Davis. He retired from Armco Steel Co. in 1986 after 30 years service at East Processing Plant in the temper roll section. He was a graduate of Parksville High School, class of 1942. He was in the Army during World War II, serving in Iceland with the Army Air Force and Transport Command Unit No. 1386. He was a member of University Baptist Church and had been a deacon and a Sunday School teacher for many years at First Baptist Church of Trenton, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife, Margarete Edwards Davis; two daughters, Connie Rouse of Lexington and Marcella Davis of Trenton, Ohio; a son, Philip Davis of Middletown, Ohio; a brother, Harold Davis of Harrodsburg; a sister, Nell Teater of Middletown, Ohio; five granddaughters; and nine great-grandsons.

Betty Adams DeBoard, 49, Grant Avenue, Lancaster, died Saturday, May 6 at her home.

A native of Garrard Co., she was born July 7, 1956 to the late William Thomas Adams and Lucy Delaney Adams. She was a homemaker and a member of Bryantsville United Methodist Church.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Roy Cecil Adams, Lawrence B. Adams, William Frank Adams, and Joe Thomas Adams.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Bee DeBoard; one son, Kenneth Lee (Jennifer) DeBoard of Lancaster; one daughter, Tracy Marie DeBoard of Lancaster; one granddaughter, Alysa Kagome DeBoard of Lancaster; one uncle, Dave Delaney of Corydon, IN.; one brother, Delbert Lee Adams of Lexington; and four sisters, Mary McCulley and Sarah Eden both of Lancaster, Brenda Sue Broaddus of Stanford, and Edna Johnson of Nicholasville.

WAYNESBURG - Ray Gooch, 76, of Old South Fork Road, Kings Mountain, died Tuesday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born July 1, 1929, in Kings Mountain, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Grace Trimble Gooch. He was a former employee of Nation Casket Co. in Lancaster.

Survivors include six brothers, Ralph Gooch of Waynesburg, Raymond Gooch and Kenneth Gooch, both of Kings Mountain, Bobby Gooch of Versailles, and Paul Gooch and John Gooch, both of Fairfield, Ohio; and two sisters Lillian Marlatt of North Port, Fla., and Mary Holly Thompson of Richmond.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by Barry Delaney. Burial will be in Pleasant Point Cemetery.

John Virtrees Hatter, 87, of Ohio, died Saturday, April 22 at Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash.

He was born Dec. 13, 1918 to the late Jesse and Dora Morgan Hatter in Kentucky and was the beloved husband of the late Wilma C. Mullins Hatter.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jasmine Geis; and brothers Delbert, Plimpton, Arnold Hatter, William, and Vernon Berkley “Buck’’ Hatter.

Survivors include a son, Barry M. (Gloria) Hatter of Cincinnati, OH.; one daughter, Beverly Sue (Stephen Schain) Hatter of Tacoma, WA.; one sister, Effie Stafford of Casey Co.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Brulport of Cincinnati, OH., Leif Heins of Tacoma, WA., and Quin Heins of New York City; one great grandchild; Katelynn Brulport of Cincinnati, OH.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary R. Strange Haught, 75, of Peg Padgett Road, Waynesburg, died Friday, April 21 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

A native of Washington, IN., she was born Oct. 29, 1930 to the late Montie Strange and Edith Dillon Strange. She was a hostess, beautician, and member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Waynesburg.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Bob, and Orval Strange; and a sister, Evelyn Nolley.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce Haught of Waynesburg; one son, Michael B. Haught of Somerset; one daughter, Linda (Mike) Light of Cincinnati, OH.; three grandchildren, Randy, Ryan and Shaun; and two great grandchildren, Meredith and Jack.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 23 at the Morris and Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill with Bro. Aaron Hogue officiating. Burial was in Olive Cemetery in Waynesburg.

Millard Finley Hubbard, age 76, beloved husband of Bobbie Jean Hubbard for 51 years, devoted father of Steven (Michele) Hubbard and David (Grace) Hubbard. A Loving grandfather of Michael, Jeffrey, and Jason Hubbard. He is also survived by a sister Clara Harris and brothers Robert and Ed Hubbard. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Maymie Hubbard and twelve brothers and sisters.

He passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, April 30, 2006 after a difficult and courageous, four-month hospitalization. His family was by his side.

He was born in Crab Orchard, Kentucky on June 2, 1929 and raised on his family's farm. He entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War with the 867th Anti-Aircraft Division in Alaska. After leaving the service, Millard re-joined his mother, who had moved to Cincinnati. It was at this time that he met wife, Bobbie. He worked as a machinist and retired from Cincinnati Milacron after 37 years of service. He made friends easily and could talk with anyone. His friends could always rely on a healthy dose of "kidding around'' and fun-loving jokes. He had a life-long love of fishing and golfing. Millard loved his family dearly and delighted in his grandchildren.

He was a member of Monfort Heights United Methodist Church, Colerain Masonic Lodge #759 F&AM and Scottish rite who will hold services Thursday at 11:45 A.M. During his sons' active years in the Order of DeMolay, he was a member of the chapter's Advisory Council. Visitation and services will be at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Ave., Mt. Healthy on Thursday from 10-12 Noon with the service to follow at 12 Noon.

Survivors include two sons, Chris Hunn of Stanford and Donald Hunn Jr. of Danville; a step-daughter, Tina Winn of Lexington; three stepsons, Vincent Napier, and Wilmer and Yohance Melendez, all of Danville; four sisters, Nancy Hunn, Carol Smith and Emma Jarman, all of Cincinnati, and Dorothy Napier of Danville; two brothers, Charles Hunn of Stanford and James Hunn of Danville; and four stepgrandchildren.

STANFORD - Rudolph Kennedy, 93, of Stanford, died Saturday at Christian Care Center.

Born April 23, 1913, in Marion County, he was the son of the late Peter Faulkner and Lula Sprinkles Kennedy. He was an employee of the state highway department and a farmer. He was a member of New Beginnings Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Rudolph Kennedy Jr. of Bridgeport, Va., and Mike Kennedy of Stanford; four daughters, Juanita Henshaw of Colorado, Jo Ann McCarthy of Williamstown, Charolette Ives of Florida and Sheila Grigsby of Stanford; two sisters, Evelyn Brown of Advance, Ind., and Loraine Holtzclaw of Stanford; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Kennedy.

Barbara Jean Ledford, 62, of Stanford, died Thursday, April 20 at the St. Joseph’s East Hospital in Lexington.

A native of Lincoln Co., she was born Dec. 9, 1943 to the late Frank and Viola Lay Shearer. She was a certified nurses assistant working at the Fort Logan Hospital Extended Care and the Stanford House Nursing Home. She was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Ann Robertson; and one brother, Jesse Shearer.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Wayne Ledford of Stanford; two sons, Timothy Lynn Coppage and David Bruce Coppage both of Stanford; three sisters, Josephine Phillips and Mae Cornelius both of Stanford and Everene Cox of Lancaster; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Born May 20, 1922, in Ellisburg, he was the son of the late John and Effie Lane Lynn. He was retired from GTE where he had worked for 40 years and a member of Community Baptist Church in Junction City. He was a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Harmon Lynn; a daughter, Priscilla Lynn of Danville; a son, Darrell Lynn of Somerset; two stepdaughters, Phyllis Wilson Hunt of Stanford and Kay Henninger of Lawrenceburg; two stepsons, Carsel Wilson of Danville and Garry Wilson of Bardstown; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Everett Maples, 89, formerly of Hustonville, died Thursday, September 25, 2003 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born July 11, 1914 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Jim and Ella Hall Maples.

He was retired and had previously worked as a farmer, as a custodian at Haggin Memorial Hospital and at Harlow Elementary School. He had also worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter. He was a Kentucky Colonel, was a member of Stanford First Church of God and served on the church’s board of directors.

Survivors include: his wife, Hazel Wyatt Maples; four daughters, Deanna Kuehl, Vivian Coleman, Gayle Breeding and Paula Maples, all of Harrodsburg; three sons, Ronald Maples, Lancaster, Lonnie and Bobby Maples, both of Stanford; one brother, Freeman, Maples, Hustonville; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 27, at the W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland with Rev. Paul Bastin officiating. Burial was in the Hustonville Cemetery.

MORELAND - Eugene Paul Martin, 23, of Moreland, died Friday in Jessamine County.

Born Nov. 16, 1982, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Lillian Martin of Moreland and the late James Paul "Moon" Martin. He was a general contractor, equipment mover and Baptist.

Survivors include a sister, Ruth Southerland of Moreland; a companion, Tabitha Phillips of Stanford; and two nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Scott Wilson. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.

Born Feb. 15, 1919, in the Blue Lick community of Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Bertha Kennedy. She was retired after 33 years as a seamstress for Palm Beach Manufacturing Co. and a member of McKinney Christian Church. She was a 1936 graduate of Stanford High School and the widow of Elmer "Doc" Martin.

Survivors include four sons, Powell Martin, Carl Martin and Dennis Martin, all of Stanford, and Fred Martin of Moreland; two daughters, Mary Jo Smith of New Salem and Brenda Hensley of Cincinnati; a sister, Emma Anderson of Danville; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Russell Martin.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Sadie Spears, Judy Satterly, Louise Preston, Bertie Jeffries and Jack Canada.

MORELAND - Roy Lee "Doc" Miller, 63, of Junction City, died Friday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born July 7, 1942, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Katherine Turner and O.D. Miller Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Coffman Miller; a daughter, Lisa Emerson of Perryville; a son, Roy Miller of Junction City; four brothers, O.D. Miller Jr. and Earnest Miller, both of Junction City, James Miller of Moreland and John Miller of Stanford; six sisters, Peggy Crowe of Danville, and Connie Asbury, Judy Brown, Diane Thomas, Rita Gilbert and Betty Howard, all of Junction City; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bradley and Lawrence Emerson, Anthony Paternoster, Mike and Michael Howard, John Miller, Eddie Curtsinger and Jimmy Coffman.

Barbara Ann Mullins Peavyhouse Mills, 60, of Moreland died Monday, April 24 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

A native of Boyle Co., she was born Oct. 14, 1945 to the late Eddie and Virgie Mae Duncan Mullins. She worked as a nurses aid and medication aid and was a member of the Moreland First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband: James Wayne Mills of Moreland; one daughter, Lisa Dolen of Moreland; two sons, David Peavyhouse of Stanford and Robert Peavyhouse of Junction City; two stepsons, Michael Mills of Stanford and Tommy Mills of Hopewell, VA; one stepdaughter, Cindy Mills of Prince George, VA; three brothers, Harold Mullins of Cheviot, OH., and Earl and Marvin Mullins of Danville; six grandchildren; and eight step grandchildren.

Active pallbearers will be B.C. Allen, David and Robert Peavyhouse, Brandon and Daniel Edwards, and Ronnie Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be David Dolen, Tim Peavyhouse, Virgil Cook, Josh Douglas, Patsy Treadway and the Deacons of Moreland First Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be today (Thursday, April 27) at 2 p.m. at the Moreland First Baptist Church with Chuck Robinson and Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the Hustonville Cemetery.

A native of Pike Co., she was born Sept. 27, 1914 to Will and Minerva (Horn) Adington. She had retired from Continental Baking Company in 1976, worked part time for Organ's Florist and Greenhouse in Vincennes, IN., a member of First Christian Church of Vincennes, IN.; and the widow of Robert Montgomery.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy (Vern) McGhan; four grandchildren, Fritzi (Mark) Rees, Teri (Larry) Kessie, Mark McGhan, and Shellee (Mark) Marlo; and 10 great grandchildren, all of Washington state; four nephews; five nieces; and a sister-in-law.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6 at the First Christian Church in Vincennes, IN.

Graveside services were held Monday, May 8 at the Double Springs Cemetery, Waynesburg in Lincoln County.

Mildred Dean Hurt Murphy, 65, of Herndon Ave., Stanford, died Tuesday, April 18 in Stanford.

A native of Garrard Co., she was born Thursday, Oct. 24, 1940 to the late Herbert “Bill” Hurt and Alberta Ray Hurt. She was a homemaker, member of the Lancaster Nazarene Church, and the widow of Raymal Lee Murphy.

Survivors include three sons, Frankie Hurt of Lancaster, Ricky Bolton of Covington, and Farris Marcum of Stanford; two daughters, Kathy Coleman of Omaha, NE., and Michelle Lee Hurt of Jonesboro, LA; two brothers, Tom Hurt of Lancaster and Dwight E. Hurt of Jonesboro, LA.; one sister, Shirley Harris of Danville; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 21 at the Ramsey Funeral Home in Lancaster with Bros. Billy Estes and Bryce McCulley officiating. Burial was in the Lancaster Cemetery.

Nellie M. Osborne, 73, of Old Lexington Road, died Wednesday at Village Care Center in Erlanger.

Born Oct. 20, 1932, in Hustonville, she was the daughter of the late John and Hattie Land Morgeson. She was a retired employee of InterCounty Energy and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. She was the widow of Roy Osborne.

Survivors include a son, Mike Osborne of Cincinnati; two sisters, Mary Ray and Catherine Terrell, both of Danville; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Mike Osborne. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.

Services for Richard "Cheepy" Frye Penman, 54, of Stanford, will be 12 p.m. Tuesday at Smith-Jackson Funeral Home by the Rev. Floyd Raglin. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Born May 29, 1951, in Stanford, he was the son of Margaret Penman. He was an Air Force veteran, a member of Clifton Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Other survivors include a sister, Agatha Henry of Stanford; and two nephews, Garey and Carey Henry of Stanford.

Pallbearers will be David, George, James and Kenneth Penman, Sonny Brown and Charles Manning.

CRAB ORCHARD - Harvey Lee Price, 63, of Preachersville, died Monday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.

Born Oct. 30, 1942, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Gaines L. and Sally L. Smith Price. He was a farmer and a member of Hebron Methodist Church.

Survivors include two brothers, James R. Price and Ken Price, both of Crab Orchard; and two sisters, Audrey Doss of Junction City and Betty Nicely of Preachersville.

Born March 28, 1939, in Kings Mountain, he was the son of Nellie Wall Phillippe of Kings Mountain and the late Emmitt Charles Robertson. He was a retired carpenter and farmer and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.

Other survivors include three sons, David Robertson of Rushville, Ind., Charles Robertson of Milroy, Ind., and Billy Robertson of Cincinnati; a stepson, Ken Frederick of Danville; a daughter, Angela Mason of Georgetown; two brothers, Curtis Robertson of Kings Mountain and Victor Robertson of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Elaine Crutcher and Dorothy Phillips, both of Nicholasville; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

T. C. Sanders, 80, of 3680 Stanford Road, Danville, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.

Born July 2, 1921 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late John and Ferbie Crabtree Sanders.

He was retired from Corning Glass Works, where he had worked for 28 years, was a member of Franklin Lodge #25 F&AM in Danville, and a former member of the Flint Workers Union.

He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener.

Survivors include: his wife, Geneva Henderson Sanders, Danville; one son, Donald (Barbara) Sanders, Harrodsburg; six step sons, Bobby Muse, Tony Muse, Rick Muse, Steve Muse and Bruce Muse, all of Stanford, and Jerry Muse, Somerset; three daughters, Shirley Singleton, Crab Orchard, Ruth Portefield, Danville, Sue Hale, Lancaster; one sister, Ruby Watts, Frankfort; one step sister, Frances Gaines, Lexington; 23 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. CRAB ORCHARD - Eugene "Red" Sparkman, 67, of Crab Orchard, died Monday at his home.

Born Jan. 21, 1939, in Pineville, he was a son of the late Chester and Rosie Belle Sparkman. He was former owner of Elm Street Auction in Crab Orchard and was a furniture maker. He attended Block Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include two sons, Berry G. Sparkman of Crab Orchard and John M. Sparkman of Lancaster; three brothers, Lonzo Sparkman of Stanford, Oscar Sparkman of Junction City and Paul Sparkman; three sisters, Pauline Lynn, Irene Sparkman, and Kathleen Sparkman; and four grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Christopher K. VanHook of Hustonville; three daughters, Carolyn R. Chambliss of Jackson, Tenn., and Reba VanHook and Lora Sparks, both of Hustonville; a brother, Noel T. Born June 13, 1931, in Danville, he was a son of the late Bertha Selby Renner and William Henry Vaught Sr. He was a 1949 graduate of Danville High School and was employed at The Advocate-Messenger for 48 years. He was a leader of Royal Ambassador Groups for more than 30 years and was recognized twice by the Kentucky Baptist Convention as Outstanding RA Leader in the state; he served in both the Mercer Association and the South District as Brotherhood/R.A. director. He was the pastor of Ellers Memorial Baptist Church for 13 years and served as interim pastor of many area churches, including most recently with Perryville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hargadon Vaught; stepmother, Jewel Vaught of Danville; two sons, Larry Vaught of Danville and Ray Vaught of Bedford; a daughter, Mary Kay Godbey of Danville; two brothers, Bobby Joe Vaught and Jack Vaught of Danville; a sister, Henrietta Webb of Perryville; six grandchildren and a stepgranddaughter. Mabel C. Williams, 99, of Connersville, IN., formerly of Stanford, died Friday, April 21 at Caroleton Manor Nursing Home.

A native of Mt. Salem, she was born Feb. 13, 1907 to the late George and Charlotta Lyons Cloyd. She was employed as a domestic housekeeper for Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hill for many years; was one of the oldest living members of Pine Lick Baptist Church in Mt. Salem; and a member of the Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center. She also enjoyed taking care of her flowers, cooking for her family and working on word and jigsaw puzzles.

She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Foster and Lucille Jones; two sons, Everett T. Williams and Charles Williams; a grandson, Dr. Randolph Jones; two sisters, Naomi Allen and Cordelia McCowan; two brothers, Garrett Cloyd and Harvey Cloyd; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Survivors include a daughter, Alberta Williams Cox of Connersville; a son, Herbert Williams of Dayton, OH.; a step brother, Henry Shields of Muncie, IN.; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 14 great, great grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special God child, Chandra Baughman of Stanford.
