Robert Lee Allen, 76, of Stanford, died Monday, May 29 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

A native of Corbin, he was born Aug. 13, 1929 to the late Isaac Frank Allen and Addie Dunn Allen. He was a farmer, member of Fairview Baptist Church, a sheet metal worker having worked for Penn Ventilator and Cherokee Sales, and a retired employee of Wal-Mart.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Allen of Stanford; one son, Frank (Beth) Allen of Stanford; one daughter, Elaine (Philip) Sebastian of Stanford; and four granddaughters, Amanda Jane Sebastian, Abigaile Sebastian, Allie Sebastian, and Haley Leeann Allen.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday, June 1) at 2 p.m. at the Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford with Chaplain Stewart Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Charles Dunn, James Dunn, Scott Dunn, Steve Allen, David Allen, John Allen and Henry James. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Moberly, David Allen Wilder, and Danny Wyatt.

Nannie Lee Ellis Atwood of Ellisburg died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at the University of Kentucky

Medical Center. She was 73.
Born in Ellisburg on Nov. 28, 1932, she was a daughter of the late James H. and Margaret Qualls Ellis.
She was a homemaker and charter member of Westside Community United Methodist Church, where she had served as a trustee. She was also a former Sunday school teacher at Ellisburg and 78 United Methodist churches.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Dee Atwood; two sons, Marty Atwood of Liberty and Monty Atwood of Ellisburg; two daughters, Marlene Atwood and Marleta Atwood, both of Ellisburg; three sisters, Irene Houp of Hustonville, Pina Faye Nutgrass of Stanford and Evelyn Peyton of Liberty; and three grandchildren, Jessica, Jared and Marisa Atwood.
She was preceded in death by a son, Randall Atwood; a brother, James Robert Ellis; and three sisters, Ruby Reed, Katherine Leigh and Cora Mae McWhorter.
Funeral services were May 13 at Westside Community United Methodist Church by the Rev. Scott Wilson and Rev. G.W. Smith. Burial was in Hustonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lonnie Pendergraft, James Peyton, Carroll Leigh, Bill Sallee, Brian Black and Merl Hicks.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Housam Haddad, Karen Likens, Rev. Edward Parton, and Jerry Wilcher, nieces and nephews, and member of the ACSW Sunday school class.

Nell Morford Beck, 67, of Lexington, widow of Robert P. Beck, died Sat, June 10, 2006 at Homewood at Richmond Place. Born in Hustonville, KY she was a daughter to the late James H. and Maud (Davis) Morford. She graduated from Hustonville High School, was a homemaker, Cub Scout den mother, Fayette Co. Board of Elections Officer, Lexington Division of Fire Womens Auxillary, and a member of Turnersville Christian Church.

She is survived by three sons, Robert P. (Wendy) Beck, Jr., Birmingham, MI, Michael W. (Teresa) Beck, Lexington, Gregory S. (Melissa) Beck, Richmond; one sister, Mary Alice Leach, Moreland; two brothers, James H. Morford, Lancaster, Robert T. Morford, Nicholasville; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katherine, Jacob, Samuel, Alayna Beck; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and many dear friends including her family at Homewood. She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Morford and a brother, Edwin Morford.

Funeral services will be Tue, at 10 a.m., at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Main Street by Bro. Bruce Carpenter. Burial will follow in the Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. WAYNESBURG - Services for Joe P. Brown , 90, of Indianapolis, Ind., will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by Ferlin Price. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery.

STANFORD - Mary Evelyn Naylor Brown, 79, of Hustonville, died Saturday at her home.

Born March 24, 1925, in Middletown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late C. W. and Viola Curtis Naylor. She was a housewife and a member of Geneva Community Church. She was the widow of Gabe Wesley "Toddy” Brown

Survivors include five sons, Johnny Mack and Ivan Brown, both of McKinney, Eddie "Popcorn” Brown of Geneva, Jackie Dale Brown of Liberty, and Randy Brown of Hustonville; five daughters, Louise Brown, Edna Griffin, Jeanine Moore, Alice Carpenter, and Peggy Walls, all of Hustonville; four sisters, Naomi Hickey of Kokomo, Ind., Alene Buis Moore of Waynesburg, Mabel Yocum Reed of Stanford, and Martha Brown of Waynesburg; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Campbell, Fannie Louise Dennis and Gertrude Troxtile, and a brother, Charles W. Naylor.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Green River Pentecostal Church by Lester Carpenter, Rich Naylor and Bill Brown. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Graveside services for David Burchfield, 50, of Harris Avenue, Stanford, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford by the Rev. David Kidd.

Born Jan. 20, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Rosetta Wilson Burchfield. He was a member of Blue Lick Baptist Church and worked at Terminix for 12 years.

Survivors include two daughters Donna Burchfield of Stanford and Veronda Howell of Lexington, N.C.; a sister, Brenda Fredrick of Stanford; a caregiver, Elizabeth Robinette of Stanford; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Trampas Steele, Lamont Wilkerson, Frank Johnson, Gary Woodall, Mike Kidd, Michael Durham and Willie McAnish.

STANFORD - Services for James Estil Carmicle, 44, of Casey County, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Locust Grove Baptist Church by David O. Terwilliger. Burial will be in K.P. Hall Cemetery.
He died Tuesday in Oldham County. Born Sept. 11, 1960, in Prospect, he was the son of the late Billy Joe Carmicle and Betty Jean Patterson. He was a heavy equipment operator for Oheady Construction Co., attended Locust Grove Baptist Church and was an Army veteran.

Survivors include his companion, Carol Dunn of Hustonville; a son, Christopher J. Carmicle of Kings Mountain; a brother, Billy Carmicle of Hustonville; a half brother, Billy Bob Carmicle of Kings Mountain; a sister, Charlotte Wesley of Bethelridge; and a half sister, Sherry Carmicle of Stanford. Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at Fox Funeral Home and after noon Friday at the church.

Jesse Franklin Coffman, 72, of the Rocky Ford Community died Monday, June 19 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

A native of Rocky Ford in Casey County, he was born April 6, 1934 to the late Lee and Carrie Wilcher Coffman. He was a farmer.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Georgie Thompson and Mary Courtwright.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Sharp Coffman of Rocky Ford; two sons, Elmer Lee Coffman of Campbellsville and Garnett A. Coffman of Hustonville; one daughter, Amie Marie King of Hustonville; six grandchildren, Tanya, Scott, Michael and Stacie Coffman, and Matthew and Micah Richards; and one great grandchild, Weston Lee Coffman.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday, June 22) at 2 p.m. at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland with G.W. Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Hustonville Cemetery.

Jessie Louis Coffman, 78, of the Rocky Ford Community died Monday, June 19 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

A native of Ellisburg, he was born April 6, 1928 to the late Les and Betty Qualls Coffman. He was a retired farmer, former gravedigger and caretaker of Hustonville Cemetery, and the widower of Georgetta Lane Coffman.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Randall Coffman; and one daughter, Lisa Pittman.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Beverly Pittman of Hustonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 21 at the W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland with Rev. Brad Fleming officiating. Burial was in Hafley Cemetery.

STANFORD - Services for Gwenith Moore Coleman, 34, of McKinney, were scheduled for 1 p.m. today at Fox Funeral Home by Paul Bastin. Burial will be in McKinney Cemetery.
She died Sunday as the result of an auto accident on Ky. 198 in Hustonville.

CRAB ORCHARD - James Allen ``Jimmy'' Cummins, 63, of Preachersville, died Monday at Fort Logan Hospital, from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Born May 21, 1934, in Preachersville, he was a son of Nellie B. Lee Cummins of Preachersville, and the late W.H. ``Dub'' Cummins. He was a member of Preachersville United Methodist Church. He was owner and operator of Preachersville Auto Sales and a former employee of Lancaster Motors and Himers Ford in Berea. He owned and operated Cummins Grocery in Lancaster, 1966-1976, after buying it form his father. He was co-owner of Kengarian Motor Home Sales from 1974-1982. He was past chaplain and firing squad member of Boyle Post 46, American Legion, Danville. He was a former master of the Brodhead Masonic Lodge 566.
Other survivors include his wife, Juanita Eaton Cummins; a son, Ricky Cummins of Lancaster; a sister, Ollie Nantz of Stanford; and a grandson.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McKnight-Martin Funeral Home by the Revs: J.H. Burns and Vola Brown. Burial with military rites by Caswell Saufley Post 18, American Legion, Stanford, will be at Crab Orchard Cemetery.
Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday.

LEXINGTON - Rena H. Cummins, 69, of Lexington, died Tuesday.
A native of Perryville, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Paralee Hill Cummins. She was a retired secretary and bookkeeper for the Kentucky Laborers District Council.
Survivors include her sister, Gladys Cummins of Lexington; and a brother, James Cummins of Stanford.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at W.R. Milward-Southland Funeral Home by the Revs. Mike Allen and Paul Barrick Jr. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today.

CRAB ORCHARD — Mary Helen Johnson Naylor Cummins, 75, of Somerset, died Tuesday at her home.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie Leber of Lexington; four sisters, Loretta Hopkins, Rosella Gaither and Linda Dyehouse, all of Crab Orchard, and Carolyn Hamm of Brodhead; and two brothers, Marion Naylor of Brodhead and Warren Naylor of Georgia.

A private memorial service will be held later. McKnight Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Joel Lynn Davis, 51, of Star Ave., Stanford died Monday, May 22 at his residence.

A native of Waynesburg, he was born Tuesday, March 1, 1955 to Pauline Coleman Davis and the late Cecil Doyle Davis. He was a tree trimmer.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Clarence Davis; and a daughter, Amy Bender.

Other survivors include three brothers, Doyle Davis of Stanford, and George and Greg Davis of Waynesburg; three sisters, Kim Phillips of Stanford, Judy Jenkins of Waynesburg, and Nieta Taylor of Kings Mountain; and a daughter, Amanda Davis of Indiana.

CRAB ORCHARD - Donald Keith Crank, 70, of Meadows of Dan, Va., formerly of Lincoln County, died Thursday at his home.

Born March 31, 1936, in Molus in Harlan County, he was the son of the late Simon and Sue Banker Crank. He worked as a tool maker and machinist for the William and Powell Co. in Cincinnati. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Cincinnati.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Jones Crank; two sons, Jonas Donald Crank of Colorado and Donald Grant Crank of Ohio; four daughters, Joellan Mack and Rachel Ochoa, both of Ohio, Donna Kay Quigley of Georgia and Sarah Hull of Tennessee; and two half brothers, Edwin and Donald Ray Crank, both of Virginia; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at McKnight Funeral Home chapel by Charles Ray "Chuck" Hull. Burial will be in Hopkins Cemetery.

Madeline Harris Dishon, 83 of 805 South 4^th Street, Danville, died Saturday, Feb. 18^th at the St. Vincent Hospital in Taylorsville, IL.

A native of Lincoln Co. Ky, she was born Aug 2, 1911 to the late John Smith Harris and Mary Liza Frazier Harris. She was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ and the widow of Raymond Dishon.

Survivors include three sisters, Elizabeth Harris of Taylorville, IL, Sally Brown and Melavee Saylor, both of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Verda Mae Durham, 65, of Route 1, Stanford, died Tuesday September 16, at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Lebanon. She was a native of Casey County, member of the Blue Lick Baptist Church and daughter of the late D.B. and Martha Popplewell.

Survivors include her husband Willie Durham, Route 1, Stanford; two daughters, Mrts. Cecil Smallwood and Mrs Raymond Foley both of of Route 1, Stanford; two sons, Marion W. Durham and Robert Earl Durham both of Route 1, Waynesburg; two sisters, Mrs Joh Burris, Austin, Ind. Born July 3, 1924, in Ula, he was the son of the late Jessie O. and Sarah G. Barker Dykes. He was a retired sheet metal worker for Penn Ventilation Co., a farmer and a member of Waynesburg Masonic Lodge and Goodwater Church of God. He attended Parlor Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Curtis Mae Phelps Dykes; five sons, Gary D. Dykes of Nicholasville, Ancil C. Dykes of Stanford, Ricky O. Dykes of Eubank, and William D. Dykes and Donald W. STANFORD - Larry Dean "Monk" Estes, 51, of South Fork, died Friday in Livingston, Tenn.

Born Aug. 21, 1954, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Eunice Lucas Estes of Moreland and the late George W. Estes. He was employed by Floyd's Cycle Shop in Danville for 25 years and rode a motorcycle in area fundraisers and cruise-ins.

Survivors include his wife, Regina Estes; one son, Tommy Dean Estes of South Fork; one daughter, Crystal Estes of South Fork; three brothers, Bill Estes of Moreland, Dale Estes of New Salem and Terry Estes of Genera; two sisters, Kim King of New Salem and Jana Alexander of Berea; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home by Matthew Jones. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.

Lee Ander Graham of Hustonville died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Charleston Health Care Center. He was 89.
Born in Garrard County on Sept. 26, 1916, he was a son of the late Millard and Betty Cheatham Graham.
He was a farmer and member of Hustonville Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the widower of Fannie Pemberton Graham.
Survivors include a son, Philip (and Julie) Graham of Casey County; two brothers, Millard Graham of Danville and A.J. Graham of Nicholasville; three sisters, Bessie Mahon of Richmond, Anna Graham and Emma Sharon, both of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren, Nikki Blevins and Tyler Graham.
Funeral services were May 16 at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland by the Rev. Jimmy Brown. Burial was in Hustonville Cemetery.

James “Kermit” Hacker, 83 of 119 ½ Robertson Lane, Danville, died Friday, Aug 27 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.

A native of Clay Co., he was born March 28, 1916 to the late Alfred and Sophia Isaacs Hacker. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Reynolds Hacker; one sister, Clarcy James Nichols of Danville; five nieces, Alberta Mann of Knoxville, TN., Charlotte Floyd, Henrietta Eldridge, and Dorothy Lewis, all of Danville, and Nora Nichols of Stanford; and one nephew, John Nichols of Stanford.

Born Oct. 9, 1916, in Rockcastle County, he was a son of the late Aquilla and Effie Mae Laswell Herrington. He was a head mechanic of Lincoln County Board of Education, retired after 36 years, and a member of New Bethel Church of Christ. He was the widower of Elizabeth Westerfield Herrington.
Survivors include a son, Curtis A. Herrington of Stanford; five daughters, Brenda Caudill, Connie Taylor and Judy Herrington, all of Stanford, Beverly G. Peterman of Mount Joy, Penn., and Debbie Popplewell of Georgetown; two brothers, Carlis Herrington of Taylor, Mich., and Vanis Herrington of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Janie Symonds of Stanford; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

STANFORD - William R. Hodges, 80, of Stanford, died Friday at Veteran's Administration Medical Center.

Born Oct. 7, 1925, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late George and Della Farris Gilpen. He was a carpenter, security guard and Baptist.

Survivors include a daughter, Mildred Collier of Portland, Ore.; and a sister, Relda Adams of Kansas.

Graveside services are 2 p.m. today at Parksville Cemetery by the Rev. David Gambrel.

LANCASTER — Services for William L. Kidd, 70, of Stanford, formerly of Preachersville, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Day Worship Center by Ray Zdrojowy. Burial will be in Pentecostal Fellowship Church Cemetery.

Born June 14, 1935, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Claude and Martha Griffin Kidd. He was a retired farmer and a member of New Day Worship Center.

Survivors include his wife, Violet Coleman Kidd; two sons, William Kidd Jr. of Nancy and David Kidd of Stanford; a daughter, Nancy Moberly of Lancaster; two brothers, Junior Kidd of Florida, and Henry Kidd of Crab Orchard; five sisters, Linda F. Owens and Anna Stevens, both of Crab Orchard, Rosalee Owens and Christine Luttrell, both of Versailles, and Bobby Jean Kidd of Frankfort; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Kidd Adams.

Barbara June nee Fish Lawrence, age 66, of Berea, died at her residence on June 13.

A native of Mt. Vernon, she was born June 22, 1939 to the late Charlie and Bessie Townsand Fish. She was a member of the Light House Baptist Church and a retired Events Coordinator for the Brookwood Retirement Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She is survived by her daughters, Penny Lawrence-Gregg (Thomas) of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and Kimberly Gaffney (Terry) of Liberty Township, Ohio; five sisters, Avis Jordan of Richmond, IN, Mildred Rigsby of Richmond, IN, Norma Dunham (Larry) of Mt. Vernon, Fern Abney of Berea and Pauline Russell of Houlka, MS; a brother, Shirley Fish of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Lawrence, her parents and one sister, Julia T. Clark, and brother, Charles Fish.

Funeral services were held June 16 at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Turner officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery.

Nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were grandson Paul Shane DeBord and nephew Gordon Abney.

A native of Jefferson Co., he was born Nov. 12, 1926 to the late Alfred E. Layer, Sr. and Ester Cooper Layer. He was a Command Sgt. Major in the Army having served in World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars. Layer was a recipient of the Purple Heart medal and a member of the American Legion Saufley Post #18 for 22 years and the Military Honor Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Iva Bailey Layer of Stanford; one son, Matthew Daniel (Diane) Layer of Hendersonville, TN.; one daughter, Sharon Layer (Bill) Sumner of Tomball, TX.; five grandchildren, Kelsey and Mikaela Layer, Wes (Erin) Sumner, Jennifer (John) Crews, and Leighann (Gordon) Taylor; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 20 at the Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford with David Witten officiating. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

RICHMOND — Deloris “June” Martin, 63, of Richmond, died Monday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

Born in Crab Orchard, she was the daughter of John Hopkins and the late Themma Manning Hopkins White. She was coordinator of library public services/assistant to the dean at Eastern Kentucky University, and past president of Kentucky Library Association. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a Baptist.

Other survivors include two sons, Shawn F. Martin and Richard C. Martin, both of Richmond; a daughter, Sarah Martin of Hendersonville, N.C.; two brothers, Keith Hopkins and Rory Hopkins; two sisters, Phyllis A. Adams and Yvonne Wolfe; and a grandson.

Born Feb. 23, 1921, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Ann Wilcher Miller. He was a former manager of Kroger and also worked at a farm implement service. He was a member of Gardenside Christian Church in Lexington, a Kentucky Colonel and a World War II Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his companion, Nancy Jane Russell of Lexington; and two daughters, Rebecca Miller of Bowling Green and Becky Letcher of Lexington; a sister, Jennie K. Anderson of Lexington; and two grandchildren.

Clarcy Hacker James Nichols, 86, of Robertson Lane, Danville, died Thrusday, March 9 at the Ephriam McDowell Regional Medical Center, in Danville.

A native of Clay Co., she was born June 26, 1913 to the late Alfred and Sophia Issacs Hacker. She was a homemaker and a member of the Chruch of God.

Survivors include five daughters, Alberta Mann of Knoxville, TN., Charlotte Floyd, Henrietta Eldridge and Dorothy Lewis all of Danville, and Nora Nichols of Stanford; one son, John H. Nichols of Stanford; 16 grandchildren: 28 great grandchildren; and seven great, great, grandchildren.

Michael Wayne Rodgers of Kings Mountain died Friday, April 7, 2006. He was 16.
Born in Lincoln County on June 22, 1989, he was a son of Russell and Doris Brewster Rodgers of Kings Mountain.
He was a sophomore at Casey County High School and a member of Middleburg Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, survivors include a brother, Justin Brewster of Kings Mountain; a sister, Brittany Rodgers of Kings Mountain; maternal grandmother, Elsie Brewster of Hustonville; and paternal grandmother, Lonnie Rodgers of Liberty.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Melvin Brewster and Elmer ‘Ted’ Rodgers.

Christopher Kent Shockley, 21, of Frankfort, died Saturday, May 20 in Lexington of natural causes.

A native of Frankfort, he was born April 4, 1985 to Terry Kent Shockley and Angela Gayle Early both of Frankfort. He was a 2003 graduate of Lincoln County High School, 2006 graduate of the Culinary College of Cooking, attended Kentucky State University where he made the Dean's List, and was an employee of Quiznos. He also enjoyed music, reading, cooking, and tae kwon do.

Bertha Hardy Smock, 86, formerly of Knox County, passed away in the Stanford House Nursing Home May 7, 2006. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin “B.J.” and Julia Epperson Hardy. She retired from Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center as a nurse’s aide after 40 years. She was a member of the First Church of god in Harrodsburg.
She is survived by one daughter, Janice Smock; and five grandchildren. Services were conducted Friday, May 19 in the Stith Funeral Home in Danville. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery.

STANFORD; James W. Turpin, 65, of Collinsville, Ill., died Sunday in Clayton, Mo.

Born February 20, 1932 in Jefferson County, he was the son of the late James W. and Maude Duncan Turpin. He was a retired air traffic controller.

William Lawrence VanWinkle, 82, of Rt. 1, Brodhead, formerly of Crab Orchard, died Thursdays, May 20, 1993 at the St Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky

Born April 18, 1911 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Frank and Viney Wilson VanWinkle. He was a retired security guard for the state and the widower of Geraldine VanWinkle.

Survivors include three sons, William W. VanWinkle of Garden Grove, CA., Norris Lynn VanWinkle of Erie, PA and W. Samuel Vaught Jr., 69, of Stanford, died Thursday, July 24, 2003 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born August 23, 1933 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Sam and Letha Edwards Vaught. He was the widower of Effie Lee Gilmer Vaught.

Survivors include: one daughter, Lynda Sue Elliott, Harrodsburg; two sons, John Gilmer Vaught, Hustonville and Michael Lee Vaught, Stanford; three sisters, Dorothy Brown, Alma Monday and Irene Bryant, all of Liberty; four brothers, Melvin and Eugene Vaught, both of Liberty, Icie Lee Vaught of Hustonville and Vallas Vaught of Yosemite; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Born Sept. 24, 1914, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Whit and Lucy Wall Walls. He was retired from the Southern Railroad and was a member of The Green River Pentecostal Church. He was the widower of Gladys Earls Walls.

Survivors include a son, John E. Walls of Hustonville; a daughter, LouAnna Young of Hustonville; a brother, George Walls of Geneva; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Phyllis Smith and Shirley Christopher.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Manuel, Jimmy Reed, Brandon Hines, Isaac Shelton, Levi Walls and Tommy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Mac Brown, John Phillips, Possium McCammon and Johnny Allen Walls.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at The Green River Pentecostal Church by the Rev. Rick Naylor. Burial will be at the Eason Graveyard.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday at The Green River Pentecostal Church.

WAYNESBURG - Edna Mae Ware, 84, of Ware Road, died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born Aug. 14, 1921, in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Amanda Bastin Caudill. She was a member of Walltown Christian Church, a homemaker and the widow of J.C. Ware.

Survivors include two sons, Gary L. Ware and Larry D. Ware, both of Waynesburg; four sisters, Deva Jones of Waynesburg, Effie Sims of Kings Mountain, Mary Moore of Cincinnati, and Darlene Broady of Minnesota; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by the Rev. Greg Powell. Burial will be in Salyers Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday.

MORELAND — Millard Pierce Warren, 78, of Junction City, died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 11, 1927, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Hollis and Dovie Mae Warren. He was a retired master plumber and farmer. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors include four daughters, Pam Kramer of Hustonville, Marilyn Elmore of Danville, Geraldine Royalty of Harrodsburg and Kathy Bodner of Danville; two sons, Millard S. and Michael Warren, both of Nicholasville; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Warren; and a daughter, Carolyn Warren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brian Wade, Jason and Greg Coulter, Scott and Bradley Blackburn, Derek Christerson and Stuart Warren. Honorary pallbearers are Chester Kavanaugh, W.H. Furr, Ed Orberson, Bobby Elmore and Kenny Scrogham.

William Ronald ``Ronnie'' Wooldridge, 72, of Lancaster Road, died Monday at his home.
Born Dec. 27, 1925, in Hustonville, he was a son of the late Jess and Mattie Ellis Wooldridge. He was a retired farmer, a member of Franklin Lodge 28 F&AM, and a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Sally A. Bugg Wooldridge; two sisters, Emmalene Merriman of Lexington and Betty J. Hearl of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Johnny Wooldridge of Atlanta, Ga., and Bobby Wooldridge of Danville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Wooldridge.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Dale Denton. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Richard Calhoun, Steve and Donald Wooldridge, Chuck Bugg, Johnny Bailey, Glen Fazz and Wendell Lawrence.
