PERRYVILLE -- Services for Alvin L. Underwood, 88, of Lebanon Road will
be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev. Keith
Willoughby. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center
in Lexington.
Born May 7, 1913, in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Colins
and Georgia Fuell Underwood. He was a retired 22-year employee of the
state Highway Department. He belonged to Parksville Baptist Church. He
was the widower of Elizabeth Preston Underwood.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Dollie Rogers of Parksville.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today.

STANFORD -- Services for Harold "Bo" Upton III, 18, of Halls Gap Estates were 1:30 p.m. today at the Lincoln
County High School gymnasium by the Rev. Vola Brown, Coach Jimmy Hill, and Stephen Brown. Burial was in Danville Memorial Gardens.

He died Friday in the Hubble community of Lincoln County.

Pallbearers will be Harold Upton Jr., Jimmy Hill, Keith Withrow, Brent Monthie, Justin Hatfield, Eric Nash, Holden Moore
and Joe Albright. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Lincoln County baseball team.

Fox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may go to Gideons International or the Lincoln County baseball team.

STANFORD -- Judy Gayle Releford Vanderpool, 53, of Lexington died Saturday August 4, 2001 at the University
of Kentucky Medical Center.Born March 29, 1948, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late
Andrew and Betty Naylor Releford. Survivors include three sons, Delton and Amos Vanderpool II
and Larry Reynolds, all of Lexington; a daughter,Tina Renee Thrasher of Lexington; four brothers,
Andrew Releford of Sadieville, Donald Releford of Owenton, and Ronald and Robert Releford, both of
Lexington; five sisters, Joyce Ivey of Casey County, Tina Beasley of Kings Mountain, and Joan Williams,
Charlene Adkins and Pamela Williams, all of Lexington;and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fox Funeral Home by the Rev. Gary King. Burial will be in Mount
Moriah Cemetery.Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. until time of services Tuesday.

STANFORD -- Grace Moore VanHook, 67, of Hubble Road died Sunday at Fort
Logan Hospital.
Born Nov. 17, 1934, in Stanford, she was the daughter of the late James
B. and Martha Vaught Moore. She was a homemaker, farmer, and member of
Newell Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Leamon E. VanHook; three sons, Cecil and
Michael VanHook, both of Hubble, and Harvey J. VanHook of Madisonville;
two daughters, Kathy Dykes of Stanford and Susie Cameron of
Nicholasville; a nephew whom she raised, Bill Correll of Bryantsville;
a brother, Remus Moore of Hustonville; four sisters, Alma Anderson of
Waynesburg, Mary Terry of Highland, and Patricia Hart and Berry Hagris,
both of Eubank; She is survived by 15 grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home by James Kelly.
Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scottie and Jeremy Stamper; Adam, Andrew and Joe
VanHook; and Leamon Cameron.
Honorary pallbearers are Lon Cameron, Ancil Dykes, Russell Sweet, Carl

MORELAND -- Services for Boyd L. Vanoy, 67, of Indianapolis, formerly of Liberty, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt
Funeral Home. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery, Casey County. He died Thursday at home.
Born June 6, 1934, in Liberty, he was a son of Elnora Randolph Vanoy of Moreland and the late Ernest Vanoy. He was a retired
truck driver for Holland Motor Express, where he worked for 30 years; a member of Teamsters Local 135; and an Army veteran of
the Korean War.
Additional survivors include his wife, Toni Reed Vanoy; a son, Jeff Vanoy of Indianapolis; a daughter, Tina Poynter of Camby,
Ind.; three brothers, Stanley Vanoy of Hustonville, Leland Vanoy of Lancaster and Wilber Vanoy of Moreland; three sisters, Darlene
Qualls of Danville, Mildred Followell of Manilla, Ind., and Gloria Bright of Bradfordsville; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is 2-5 p.m. today at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, Ind.; and 5-7 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service
Tuesday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.

STANFORD -- Edith Opal Conaster VonLinger, 86, of Stanford, died Friday
at Stanford House nursing home.
Born Nov. 12, 1915, in Casey County, she was a daughter of the late
Phillip and Florence Peyton Conaster. She was a homemaker and a member
of Waynesburg Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include two sons, Henry Louis VonLinger of Stanford and
Albert Gene VonLinger of Stanford; a brother, Phillip Conaster of
Perry, Ga.; a sister, Ethel Coleman of McKinney; seven grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

David Franklin Wade, 70, of West Walnut Street died Sunday at
Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born May 4, 1931, in Danville, he was the son of the late
Davidson and Maggie Wade. He was a member of First Baptist
Church and was retired from American Greetings.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Wade; two stepdaughters, Ella
Johnson and Barbara Turner, both of Danville; 11 grandchildren;
and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Smith-Jackson Funeral Home
by the Rev. David Chenault. Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David, Ken, Paul and Tobias Johnson; Jeffrey,
Darnell and Frederick Turner; and Gregory Elmore.
Honorary pallbearers are Richardson Elmore and nephews.

STANFORD -- Ernest C. Wade, 73, of Westland, Mich., died Sunday at St.
Mary's Hospital in Livonia, Mich.
Born in Stanford, he was a son of Edward and Elda May Wade. He was a
welder.
Survivors include a son, Robert E. Wade of Ypsilanti, Mich.; a brother,
Edward Wade of Danville; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at Ballheim Funeral Home in Ecorse,
Mich. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery at a later date.

WAYNESBURG -- Marvin Wahl, 76, of Kings Mountain died Thursday at
Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born April 13, 1925, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Herschel
and Myrtle Foley Wahl. He was a farmer and store operator. He was a
member of Locust Grove Baptist Church and an Army veteran of World War
II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ethel Gourley Wahl; for sons, Douglas
Wahl of Cincinnati, Dwight Wahl and Dwane Wahl, both of Kings Mountain,
and Dexter Wahl of Demossville; two daughters, Sonja Walls of
Cincinnati, and Valerie Brumett of Waynesburg; nine grandchildren; and
10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Locust Grove Baptist Church by
John Dean and Gary Phelps. Burial will be in KP Hall Cemetery with
military rites by Caswell-Saufley Post 18, the American Legion.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home
and after 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.

STANFORD - Marjorie Bright Walker, 89, of Stanford, died today at her home.

She was the daughter of the late William M. and Mary Matheny Bright. She taught school
37 years in Stanford, Danville and Maysville school systems. She was a graduate of
Illinois Wesleyan College and a member of Stanford Christian Church where she played
the organ for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archibald Woods Walker Jr.; a son, Archibald
W. "Buzz" Walker III; and a daughter, Marjorie "Marty" Woods Walker. Graveside services
will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Buffalo Springs Cemetery by the Rev. Burney Meece. Fox Funeral
Home is in charge of funeral arrangements. Memorial may go to the Lincoln County
Educational Fund or a church of your choice.

Ernest Henry Wallin,66, of 310 Edwards Road died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1993, at
his home after a long illness.
Born Nov. 27,1926, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Fred and Amy
Wren Wallin. He was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of the
west Brodhead Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Lula Ann Debord Wallin: three sons, Ernest Wallin
Jr. of Somerset and Jimmy and Donald Wallin, both of Crab Orchard; two
daughters, Barbara Shelton of Crab Orchard and Sherry Bullock of Brodhead; three

Jo Wesley, at home; and a sister, Beverly H. Dennis of Moreland.

Wilder and was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Ann Coffman.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Nunemaker of Stanford; four
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

FRANKFORT (AP) -- Fayette Duncan Wilkinson, died Thursday. He was 90.
He was born Dec. 22, 1910, in Stanford.
Wilkinson was principal of Frankfort High School from 1945 to 1960. He
then served as the Frankfort district's superintendent from 1961 to
1968.
He was inducted into the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Hall
of Fame in 1999. In 1981, the Frankfort High gym was named after him.
Wilkinson was the widower of Ayleene Razor Wilkinson. Survivors include
a son, Duncan Wilkinson; a brother, John Wilkinson; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rogers Funeral Home.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.

Waynesburg, died Wednesday at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born March 18, 1943, in Piqua, Ohio, he was a son of the late Claude O.
and Hattie Mae Siler Williams. He was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist
Church and was the owner of Williams Television and Radio Repair.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Woodall Williams; a daughter,
Teresa Lynne Ross of Waynesburg; two sons, Billy Williams Jr. and
Jeffery D. Williams, both of Waynesburg; a sister, Lucy Brock of
Waynesburg; two brothers, Eugene Williams of Stanford and Glenn
Williams of Waynesburg; and a grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church by
Berl Coffman and Cecil Roundtree. Burial will be in the church

Born Feb. 16, 1953, in Boyle County, he was the son of Raymond L.
Wilson Sr. of Junction City and the late Mary Evelyn Johnson Wilson. He

stepsons, Robbie Walters of Nicholasville and Johnny McKnight of Olympia; two stepdaughters, Barbara Carrier
and Linda Stafford, both of Danville; two brothers, Woodrow Wren of Danville and Bill Wren of Lancaster; two sisters,
Pat Vice and Pearl Payne, both of Danville; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son,
Tony Wren.

Woodrow Wren, 80, of Latimer Heights died Thursday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born March 31, 1921, in Crab Orchard, he was the son of the Alte Cleave and Lilly King Wren. He was a
retired farmer and a member of Burgin Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Wilkerson Wren; two daughters, Jenny Boyd of Danville and Brenda Hillard of Parksville;
three sons, Curtis Wren of Parksville and David Wren and Glen Wren, both of Danville; a sister, Pearl Payne of Danville;
11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Donnie Irvin and Buddy Turpin.
Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Todd Wren, Rodney Wren, Shane Wren, Kevin Wren, Woodie Wren, Scott Boyd and
Don Hillard. Honorary pallbearers will be James Earl Wren, Dickie Wren, Arlis Luttrell and Hubert Southerland.

LANCASTER -- Elizabeth Gaffney Wrenn, 78, of Shepherdsville
died Tuesday at her home.
Born Sept. 8, 1921, in Garrard County, she was a daughter of
the late Arthur and Nora E. Payne Gaffney. She was the widow
of Oscar L. Wrenn.
Survivors include a son, Billy G. Wrenn of Shepherdsville;
three brothers, Floyd, Leslie and Arthur Gaffney Jr., all of
Lancaster; four sisters, Elsie Davis of Lancaster, Katherine
McIntire of Franklin, Ohio, Allene Games of Lawrenceburg, and
Joyce Hunt of Versailles; three grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Ramsey Funeral Home by the
Revs. William Payne and Mike Rogers. Burial will be in Payne
Family Cemetery. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Wednesday.

LANCASTER-William Hayden Wrenn, 83, of Lancaster, died Wednesday at his
home.
He was born 1/14/1916 in Lincoln County, Kentucky and was the son of
the late Cleveland and Esther Wrenn. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Wilkerson Wrenn; four sons, Julian,
Robert, Morris and William Wrenn, all of Garrard County; three
daughters, Marilyn Hensley, Darlene Daniels and Donald Lamb, all of

STANFORD -- Services for James Donald Wright Sr., 67, of
Stanford were today at Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial was
in Mount Moriah Christian Church Cemetery with military
rites by American Legion Boyle Post 46. He died Tuesday
at Fort Logan Hospital. Born Feb. 14, 1934, in Lincoln
County, he was the son of the late Calvin and Virginia
White Wright. He was a retired Air Force staff sergeant
and a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris J. Lucas Wright; two
sons, James D. Wright Jr. and Daniel L. Wright, both of
Stanford; a daughter, Janie Hasty of Stanford; a brother,
Dudley L. Wright of Shelbyville; two sisters, Sylvia
Whitaker of Junction City and Diane Meyer of Albany, Ind.;
and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Daniel Wright, Donald Wright Jr., Charles
and Doug Lucas, Nathaniel Whitaker and Charlie Wood.

STANFORD -- Services for Olvett Wright, 78, of Ky. 1247, Eubank, will
be 2 p.m. today at Pilot Baptist Church by the Rev. John Zupancic.
Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday in Arlington Memorial Gardens, Mount
Healthy, Ohio.
She died Friday at Lake Cumberland Medical Center in Somerset.
Born Dec. 5. 1923, in Dillsboro, Ind., she was a daughter of the late
Carl and Myrtle Clark Neal. She was a homemaker and a member of Pilot
Baptist Church in Eubank.
Survivors include her husband, James H. Wright; a daughter, Debbie Cole
of Eubank; two sons, Jim Elwood Wright of Cincinnati and Robert T.
Wright of Loveland, Ohio; a sister, Florence Sachs of Cincinnati; six
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She died Wednesday at her home.
Born Feb. 18, 1945, in Casey County, she was a homemaker.

Born Sept. 9, 1916, in Glennville, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Alma Brown Brown.

13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Buddy

She died Monday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born Sept. 25, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late
James and Maryann Jones Brooks. She was a teacher's assistant at
Highland Elementary School, a former employee and interpreter at Shaker
Village at Pleasant Hill, and a member of the Shakertown Choir. She
attended Pentecostal Fellowship Church.
Other survivors include her husband, Steven Zahn; a son, Evan E. Zahn
of Stanford; a daughter, Marie N. Zahn of Stanford; and a brother, Paul
T. Border of Schoenen-Kuhleberg, Germany.
Pallbearers will be Larry and Clint Sebastian, Thurman Pearson, Ernest
Lear, and Brian and David Bockoven.
