ADDITIONAL NOTES: We believe this is the John Baker who leaves a portion of his estate to Nancy Baker Coats - her Callaway County MO probate case files states that a *John Baker of TN* left a portion of his estate to her - the only John Baker in TN that died at the correct time and with a large enough estate in TN was this John Baker of Wilson County TN, John's grandson William Coats, jr was also married to Patsy Tracy in Wilson County TN in 1817 - although Nancy has been linked to a Sylvester Baker of North Carolina, we do not believe this to be her father since this Baker family can not be placed anywhere near South Carolina at the time, Nancy and Rev William Coats were married - her son Wilson Coats also states in the 1880 census of California that his mother was born in VA - the Sylvester Baker family was from Maryland to North Carolina and then TN - it does not appear they were ever in either VA or South Carolina - so the it is more probable that John Baker was Nancy's father than S! ylvester - there is another Nancy Baker in North Carolina, which could be the daughter of Sylvester Baker, but they are two different Nancys
