Logan County Will Book G Submit Will Book G Data MORROW, Thomas Pg:577 November 27, 1846 MORROW, Thomas Book: G; Page:577 Date: November 27, 1846 DIVISION OF THE ESTATE OF THOS MORROW DEC'D AND ASSIGNMENT OF DOWER We, the udersigned appointed by an order of the Logan County Court to lay off and assign to Coley Morrow widow of Thomas Morrow, Dec'd her dower in the lands and slaves belonging to the estate of the said Thomas Morrow Dec'd and to divide the slaves of said deceased amongst his heirs being first sworn---assigned to said Coley Morrow---two hundred and twenty five acres land including the dwelling house of the said Dec's together with other houses and improvements thereon---as laid down in the surveyor's report and plat herewith filed and reference to which is her full dower in all the lands belonging to the said Deceased in this state. We have also assigned to the said Coley Morrow the following slaves to-wit: Sally worth $225 Plilis worth $100 Harriett worth $275 Burrell " 150 Elizabeth " 250 Johnson " 450 Lewis " 550 Edward " 200 and in money 66.662/3 ------------------------------- $2816.662/3 which is one third part of all the lands and slaves belonging to the estate of said Thomas Morrow Dec'd, aggreeably to its present value. We then divide the balance of slaves belonging to the estate of said deceased amongst the several heirs of said Deceased as follows, to-wit: 1st To James Glasgow's heirs one negro man Rueben worth $450 and 1 girl Hester Amo worth $200 total value $650.00 2nd To John Morrow's heirs one negro man Elijah at $400 and one girl Eliza at $200 $600.00 3rd To Moses Morrow's heirs one boy named Henry at $550 and an old woman Lucretia worth nothing $550.00 4th To Matthew Morrow and wife one boy Peyton at $450 and an old man Ralph at $125 $575.00 5th To Thomas Morrow and old man Ben at $100 and a boy named Benjamin at $450 $550.00 6th To Isaac Talkington and wife one old woman Polly and a boy Levy at $475.00 7th To James Morrow one negro woman Elsy and her two children Winfield and Lucretia at $650.00 8th To David T. Leo and wife one negro woman Louisa and child James Henry $500.00 9th To John Rutherford and wife one woman Lucy and her two children Ranson & C $600.00 10th To Ann Thompson two negro girls Mary $350 and Martha at $200 $550.00 ----------------------------- Value of whole $5700.00 Portion to each heir $570.00 In order to make the lots equal in value we say that James Glasgow's heirs must pay to Isaac Talkington 80.00 Matthew Morrow must pay to same 5.00 James Morrow must pay same 10.00 ------------- 95.00 John Morrow's heirs must pay to Thomas Morrow 20.00 John Rutherford must pay same 10.00 John Morrow's heirs must pay to Moses Morrow's heirs 10.00 James Morrow must pay to D. Morton as Clerk of the said Logan County Court, do certify that at a County Court held for the said county at the Court house in Russellville on the 25th day of January 1847 the within assignment of dower to Colley Morrow widow of Thos Morrow Dec'd and division of the slaves of Dec'd was produced in court, approved by the same, and ordered to be recorded---whereupon this same together with this certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my office.
