W. W.* McCARTY was born in Marion
County, Ky., February 2, 1826.
His father Milburn
McCarty, was born in
Washington County, Ky., June 5,
1797, and moved to Daviess
County in 1845, where he died in
1863, leaving a wife and seven
children. He had been a member
of the Baptist church since
twenty-one years of age. He was
married in 1819 to
Catherine Kinnett, a
native of Washington County,
Ky., born March 13, 1797, who is
still living, is hale and
hearty, and can read without the
use of glasses. W. W. McCarty
was married June 25, 1849, to
Elizabeth E. Beannon, a native
of Ohio County, born Feb. 25,
1831. Nine children have been
born to them, six of whom are
living - James M., Catherine,
Annie L., William M., S. S and
Virgil E. Mr. McCarty owns 130
acres of fine land in Fordsville
Precinct, Ohio County. He is now
farming the land of William E.
McFarland, six miles west of
Owensboro. He has been a member
of the Baptist church since
seventeen years of age and his
wife has been a member f thirty
years. He has been a Mason
thirty two years and a Royal
Arch Mason twelve years, belongs
to Jerusalem Lodge, No. 9,
Henderson, Ky. Mr. McCarty is
one of Daviess County's oldest
and best citizens. McCarty

William Wesley McCarty,
son of Milburn & Catherine
Kinnett McCarty. Wm. Wesley had
to go to Fordsville, Ky. to
swear not to fight against the
South,during the Civil War. He
sold his farm in Whitesville and
moved to Owensboro, Ky. after
1906. |
