Enoch E. Lynn is a son of Joseph and Marinda (Foley) Lynn, natives respectively of Tennessee and Kentucky. The father was a farmer in early life. He served in the Mexican and also in the late Civil War. During the latter service, he was a member of the Fifteenth Kentucky Cavalry (Federal). He is at present a mail agent on the Ohio River. Four of the nine children born to the parents of our subject are now living; Martha, Angie, Missouri, and Enoch E. The last named was born in Massac County, Ill., April 15,1849. He came to this county some six years ago, and has given his time principally to farming and general trading. He married Miss Fannie Stephens, a daughter of Dr. Thomas Stephens. Five children have blessed this union, four of whom survive; Leata M., Edna E., Nellie B., and Florence.
