John Hopwood Dies At 96; Was Carpenter

John S. Hopwood, 96 retired carpenter, died at 6 a.m. today at the home of a son, Handley Hopwood of West Paducah.
Hopwood was born in Henshaw and came here in 1903. He was a charter member of Twelfth St. Baptist Church.

Surviving are two other sons, William Hopwood of Paducah and Roy L. Hopwood of Elizabethtown; three daughters, Mrs. Julia Ragsdale of East St. Louis, Ill., Mrs. Lucille Baugh of Wenatachee, Wash. and Mrs. J.P. Huston of Port Clinton, O.; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lindsey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jewell Barrett and the Rev. Denzel Dukes officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be R.H.Luigis, Rob Feast, Arnold Scott, R.W. Ryan, O.T. Meyers and Ray Meyers.
