Will of Adam Whitelauf

In the Name of God, Amen.
I Adam Whitelauf, of the County of McCracken, State of Kentucky, a farmer,
being of
Sound Mind but coporally sick and knowing the uncertainty of life and death
do hereby
make and declare this my last will and testament.
To wit
1st) my will is that immediately after my death all my lawfull debts and
funeral expenses
shall be paid out of my estate
2nd) I will and bequeath unto my wife Eve Whitelauf all my real and personal
property
to have and to hold the same during the term of her natural life
3rd) my will is that after the death of my said wife Eve all of the property
shall be divided
equally among all my children with the exception of my son Jacob and my
Stepson Fred
to whom, namely to Jacob and Fred my stepson I bequeath to each of them
the sum of
five dollars and they shall have no other share of my Estate.
All the rest of my estate I wish at the death of my wife to be divided
equally among my
other eight children so that each of those eight children is entitled to
an equal share
of the remainder of my Estate.
4th) I hereby appoint said wife Eve as Administratrix and Executress of
all the Estate
during the term of her natural life and after her death my will is that
my son George be
appointed Administrator and that both of them, namely my wife Eve and my
son
George be admitted by the County Court of McCracken County without being
obliged to give security.
5th) I declare this to be my last will and testament in presence of August
Wurth,
John Wurth, and John Kettler all of McCracken and in presences of each
other
hereunto I affix my hand and seal on the twenty first day of Augustin the
year
of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and Seventy seven written all on
one [sheaf?] of paper this being the fourth and last page thereof.

At a Regular Term of the McCracken County Court held for the County aforesaid
at the
Court House in the City of Paducah on the 14th day of January 1878 the
foregoing
Last Will and Testament of Adam Whitelauf, deceased was produced in open
Court and
proven by the oaths of August Wurth and John Wurth, two of the subscribing
witnesses
thereto to be the true last will and testament of the said Adam Whitelauf
deceased and said
will was ordered to be recorded which together with this certificate is
done accordingly.
Given under my hand this 28th day of January, 1878.
