Page 330In the name of God Amen
I Jarred Billington of the County of McCracken and State of Kentucky being being low in affliction but of sound and desposing mind and memory, in view of my probably approaching dissolution do hereby think proper to make and ordain this my last will and testament as follows to wit.
1st To the Lord Almighty who gave it to me, I would humbly devote my soul beseeching him for the alone sake of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to accept the poor offering I bring
2nd My will and desire is that out of the funds coming to me from my deceased father’s estate that my funeral expenses doctors bills and all my other just debts shall be paid.
3rd That with the remainder of the money that is coming and shall be received from the estate of my father a piece of timbered land sufficient to support the farm on which I now live shall be purchased by my executor Thomas Young. But if no such purchase can be made at a reasonable price and within a reasonable distance of my present residence of which said Thomas Young is to be the judge then the sum so remaining is to be equally divided between all my children.
4th I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Pharrabe Billington all of my estate both real and personal now in my possion in the County and State aforesaid as also all sums of money or property due or in any wise coming to me except the aforesaid portion from my fathers estate to have, hold, and fully enjoy, control, and manage the same during her natural life or widowhood and no longer.
5th At the death or marriage of my wife (should she again marry) all of my estate of every kind real and personal is to be equally divided among all my children.
6th I hereby constitute and appoint Thomas Young of this County executor of this my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal
this 30th day of December in the year of our Lord 1849

Kentucky, McCracken CountyAt a County Court held for the county aforesaid at the Courthouse in Paducah on the 11th day of February 1850 the within last will and testament of Jarrad Billington Decd. was produced to this court by the executor therein named and proven by the oath of James A Billington one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, who proved the handwriting of R D Gholson and A Billington, the other two subscribing witnesses and testified that they attested the same in his presence and the same together with this certificate to record in my office is given under my hand this 3rd day of July 1850.
