Abraham Copel cuts
throat at Confederate
Home and Dies an Hour later. Using a pocket-knife he had
carried since the Civil War, Abraham Copel, a Confederate veteran,
93 years old, severed his jugular vein early yesterday morning and
died an hour later at the Confederate Home in Pewee Valley.
He had lived at the home
for ten years and mental weakness caused by his declining health
promoted the act. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William
Poulter, of Middletown, Ky.
