THIS IS AN ABSTRACT OF THE APPLICATION FOR PENSION - - - JESSE LAW - VIRGINIA 
The above named soldier was living in the county of Oldham, state of Kentucky, when he applied for pension on the date of Aug 19, 1833, aged 76 years.
He stated that he was born in the county of Henrico, state of Virginia, date of Jan 9, 1750.
He enlisted in the county of Pittsylvania, state of Virginia, in April 1777.
 He resided in the county of Pittsylvania, until about 1800, when he moved to Kentucky and settled in Shelby County which later became Oldham.
He died November 14, 1839, in Trimble County, Kentucky.
His widow, Mary or Polly Law, whose maiden name was Mary Willis, applied for pension in the county of Jefferson, state of Indiana, date of November 30, 1843, aged 84 years.  She was living with a son-in-law, Francis Barns.  She was married to Jesse Law in the state of Virginia, county of Pittsylvania, date of Dec. 1, 1780.  She died April 23, 1845.
Francis Barns made affidavit in Jefferson County, Indiana, Nov. 31, 1843, that he married Avariller Law, daughter of Jesse and Mary law on March 29, 1806, and that his wife was about 54 years old in 1843, and that Mary Law had been living at his house for about two years, and that the oldest child, Joel Law, died about 3 years previous, and that at the time of his death was about 54 years old.
John Bell, aged 77 years, made deposition in Trimble County, Kentucky, December 1, 1843, that Mary Law was his aunt, and that he was present at her wedding.
 Anderson Law, no relationship stated, made affidavit Dec. 15, 1852 that he was the executor of Jesse Law and that Mary Law died April 23, 1845.
Daniel S. Law, no relationship stated, made affidavit in Trimble County, Kentucky Dec. 4, 1852, that he had been acquainted with Jesse and Polly Law since the year 1807, and that he was well acquainted with their children, eight in number, Joel Law, Willis Law, Elizabeth Law, Sally Law, Averilla Law, John Law, Daniel Law, and Anderson Law, said Anderson being the youngest child and the executor of his father's estate.
 Susannah Law, made affidavit in Jefferson County, Indiana, June 6, 1850, that she was the widow of Joel Law, and that he would have been 68 years old in 1850, but had been dead about 15 years.  She further stated that she was at the death of Polly (Mary) Law in 1843, and that Polly Law left 5 children, Elizabeth Lancaster, wife of Dick Lancaster, Sally Barnes, wife of John Barnes, Averilla Barnes, wife of Francis Barnes, Daniel Law and Anderson Law.  The children who were dead were Joel Law, Willis Law and John Law.
Jack Pryor made affidavit in Trimble County, Kentucky December 2, 1852, that he was well acquainted with Jesse and Polly Law since about the year 1797 or 1798.
