In
the name of God Amen. I Hadley Head of Henry County and
State of Kentucky being in tolerable health and of sound
mind do make this my last will and testament. I
recommend my soul to the Almighty God hoping for pardon
and forgiveness of all my sins through the merits and
goodness of my blessed Savior Jesus Christ. 1st I give
to my beloved wife Mildred Head all my estate both real
and personal during her natural life or widowhood, and
after her death or marriage to be divided amongst my
children in the manner hereinafter mentioned. 2nd It is
my will and desire, that the Negro girl Letty that I
loaned to my daughter Elizabeth Oglesby, and the Negro
girl Lizza that I loaned to my daughter Nancy Jackson be
returned to my executrix or administrators hereafter
mentioned as a part of my estate. 3rd It is my will and
desire that my three daughters Mary Burton, Elizabeth
Oglesby deceased and Nancy Jackson or their children,
have one hundred and fifty dollars each which will make
them nearly equal to what I have given my sons. 4th It
is my will and desire that after my death, that all my
just debts be paid, and the rest of my estate both real
and personal be equally divided amongst my seven
children, that is to say four sons and three daughters
or their legal heirs. 5th I do nominate and appoint my
loving wife Mildred Head my executrix and my four sons
John Head, James Head, Benjamin Head and Zachariah Head
my executors of this my last will and testament hereby
revoking all other wills heretofore by me made declaring
this to be my last will and testament. In witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal
this thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and twenty two.

instant produced in open court, and proven to be the
last will and testament of Hadley Head deceased by the
oath of James Hill and Thomas Potts subscribing
witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.

to an order of the Oldham Co Court, Commissioners
divided the estate, Lot No. 1 to Benjamin Head 62 ½
ac., Bounded by Thomas Potts corner-line of Weaver. No 2
to Joel Jackson and Nancy his wife, late Nancy Head, 62
½ acres. Bounded at Benjamin Heads corner, stone wall
near a branch. No 3 to Zachariah Head 47 ½ acres.
Bounded by corner to Jackson & wife. No 4. to Reuben
Burton and wife, late Mary Head 63 acres. Bounded corner
to Zachariah Head. Lot 5 to James Head, 62 acres.
Bounded by corner of Reuben Burton & wife. Lot No 6
to Jesse Oglesby and his children 67 ½
acres. Bounded corner to James Head, Jackson’s
