The Library houses the records of the County Clerk's office on
microfilm. The Library has a microfilm reader, and a printer. Xerox copies of printed materials may be made for
$0.10/copy. Several titles among the Library's collection should be of
interest to historians and genealogists. The staff will gladly answer
simple inquiries and forward requests for information to members of the
Historical Society.
Genealogists traveling to Owen Co. may
be interested to know that the Owen County Courthouse is closed on
Wednesdays and on Saturday afternoons.

The Owen County Historical Society maintains a collection of
historical and genealogical materials housed at the library. This
collection includes local records, family histories, census records, and
cemetery records. The library also houses the county newspaper
(News-Herald) microfilms from 1905 to 1995. The Historical Society has a
number of publications for sale which may be purchased through the
Library.
