The Fields Family Cemetery and Homeplace was located about half way down the hill on the left of highway 159 before you get into Concord. The old homeplace was bought in years past and the house was torn down. Do not know if the cemetery was left intact but do not think that the graves were ever moved. Ambrose & Sarah Ellis Fields are buried there with some of their children and some of the Mockbee Family.

 

Ambrose Griffith Fields, born February 14, 1809 in Pendleton Co. Died February 05, 1866. Son of Mathew Fields.

Sarah Ellis, born February 27, 1811 in Harris Creek, Pendleton Co. Died August 18, 1897. Daughter of Wm. & Elizabeth Rush Ellis.

Fields Homeplace

Located 2 miles south of Kincaid Lake State Park on highway 154.
