In Clark County, on Upper Howard's Creek at the little village of Allansville. Named for Judge Frank S. Allan, who served for several years as moderator of Boone's Creek Assn.

In May 1775 Joseph Combs erected a cabin here and raised a crop of corn in this beautiful valley, while Boone and others were building the fort at Boonesborough. Joseph Combs was granted a pre-emption of 1000 acres by the Comrs. sent out by Va. to settle land claims; on Oct. 20 1779 settling at St. Asaphs or Logan's Fort.

Allansville Church was constituted on Nov. 7, 1887 by members of the families of Allan, Ecton, Haggard, Wills and Gravett.

Members present from other churches, viz: First Church of Winchester, Mt. Olive, Ephesus, Union City, Corinth and Salem.

Bro. R.R. Perry was chosen moderator, James Allan clerk. The Church covenant was read by Rev. J. Pike Powers and adopted by the 20 members.

Rev. J. Pike Powers preached an excellent sermon.

In Dec. 1887 the church met in the school house. J.S. Allan chosen moderator, T.I. Wills permanent clerk.

Elder John I. Wills called as pastor.

Woody Ecton and Daniel Rupard were appointed deacons.

J.L. Allan, James Haggard and T.I. Wills were appointed to solicit funds to build a house.

The heirs of Judge Frank S. Allan donated a lot for the church. The house was soon erected.

In Aug. 1988 admitted to Boone's Creek Assn.

July 1888 a series of meetings were held, assisted by Rev. E.H. Brookshire with 15 additions. At the close of this meeting the church was dedicated; the sermon was preached by Dr. Wm. Steward.

July 1889 a series of meetings were held, assisted by Rev. R.R. Noel, with 32 additions to the congregation.

Bro. T.I. Wills resigned as clerk, W.M. Todd elected clerk.

July 1890 a series of meetings were held, assisted by Rev. R.R. Noel, with 40 additions to the roll.

March 1891 Bro. Noel called as pastor, not accepted. Rev. Richard French accepted as pastor; he entered the field in April 1891 and served until March 1894.

In Jan 1894 J.W. Tuttle was elected clerk.

In April 1894 Elder Z.W. Pigg was accepted as pastor; he served until 1896.

July 1895 - resolutions on death of Bro. James L. Allen.

Jan 1897 - Bro. T.C. Ecton called as pastor, not ordained; he served 5 years.

Feb. 1897 Allan Ecton was chosen clerk.

Aug 1897 - a series of meetings were held; 16 additions to the roll.

March 1900 - the church passed strong resolutions in regard to church discipline.

In May 1901 at the request of Providence Church, Estill Co., the Allansville Church voted for the ordination of one of its members, Bro. Walker Shearer to preach the gospel.

In Feb. 1902 W.C. Todd became clerk.

On March 18, 1902 resolutions on death of Bro. J.W. Tuttle were passed.

March 1902 Rev. J.I. Wills became the under-shepherd, until Jan. 1904.

Sept. 1903 a series of meetings assisted by Rev. Woolfolk, with 32 additions.

In Dec. 1903 the church voted not to grant any more letters of dismissal unless in good fellowship and not in debt to the church.

Rev. W.L. Shearer accepted as pastor, served about one yer.

J.E. Brandenburg was chosen as clerk in Dec. 1904.

In April 1905 Rev. Richard French again accepted call as pastor and remained until Oct. 1907.

April 21, 1906 the church book was revised, 230 members reported.

In March 1908 Rev. Elmer Lucas was called and served until Jan 1910.

J.T. Turpin became under-shepherd in Jan 1910; served 7 years.

In July 1917 Rev. Elmo Royalty served as pastor only a few months.

In July 1917 J.E. Brandenburg resigned as clerk. He was succeeded by P.S. Parker, the present clerk (1923).

Bro. Geo. N. Smith became pastor in the spring of 1918, served until 1921.

Rev. J.W. Roberts was pastor about one year.

Rev. I.W. Manly accepted the pastorate in Nov. 1922; is present pastor (1923).

The church entertained Boone's Creek Assn. in 1896, 1900 and 1910.
