Marshall Adams,
64, of Butler, passed away Sunday, December
29, 2002 at his home.
He was born on May 14, 1938 in Harrison
County, a son of Ohna Robinson Adams and the
late George Adams. He married Marjorie J.
Wells Adams on October 4, 1959 and his dear
wife survives his passing. After 31 years of
service, he retired as a supervisor with
General Motors in Norwood, Ohio. Most
recently, he worked at Licking Valley Oil in
Butler.
He was a member of Fairlane Baptist Church
in Grants Lick and was a past master of
Melrose Lodge F&AM in Norwood and DeMoss
Lodge No. 220 F&AM, Butler.
In addition to his wife of 43 years,
Marjorie Wells Adams, and his mother, Ohna
Robinson Adams of Cynthiana, he leaves three
sons, Doug Adams of Foster, Greg Adams of
Batavia, Ohio, and Cal Adams of
Gardnersville; daughters, Jan Adams of
Butler and Jill Wright of Falmouth;
brothers, Todd Adams of Cynthiana and Harold
Adams of Mount Olivet; sisters, Faye Shelton
of Erlanger, Lois Stull of Butler, Elaine
Merlino of Boston and Kay Hanna of Paris;
and eight grandchildren: D. J. Adams,
Marshall Adams, Aaron Adams, Jonathan Adams,
Amanda Adams, Ethan Wright, Nathan Wright
and Andrew Wright.
Funeral services were Thursday, January 2 at
Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Rev.
James Armstrong and Rev. Russ Baker
officiating. Music was shared by Amy Doerr.
Serving as pallbearers were Don Wells, Roy
Harrison, Jim Owen, Lou Crosthwaite, David
Bay and Jim Crosthwaite.
Interment was in Riverside Cemetery,
Falmouth.
Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, served the
family.
Mrs.
Shirley Jean Cummins, 66, of Berry,
passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at
her home.
She was born on August 13, 1936 in Lee
County, Kentucky, daughter of the late
George and Roxie Estes Reece. She was a
private duty caregiver and member of Oakwood
Baptist Church, Cynthiana. She was a native
of Lee County, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her daughter,
Deborah Lynn Gentry and her grandson,
Michael Messer, two brothers, Walter Reece
and James Reece and a sister, Ramah Sparks.
She leaves her husband, Ernie Cummins; three
daughters, Linda Messer of Georgetown,
Brenda Hall of Cynthiana and Nora Gentry of
Berry; two sons, Kenneth H. Gentry and
Delbert (Franklin) Gentry, both of Berry;
two brothers, Ernest Reece of Walton and
George Reece Jr of Heidelberg, Ky.; six
sisters, Delores Rosell of Lakeside,
Florida, Rebecca Hundley of Sidney, Ohio,
Gladys Allen of Yellow Rock, Ky., Glendean
Tiery of Winchester, Modenna Turner of
Spencer Ridge, Ky. and Bernice Mays of
Irvine, Ky.; four grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 4 at
Newman Funeral Home in Beattyville, Ky.
Interment was in the Beatty Place Cemetery,
Lee County, Ky.
Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, carried out
arrangements.
Eileen
Cavanaugh Crotty, 77, of Falmouth,
passed away Thursday, January 2, 2003 at the
St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in
Edgewood.
She was born on September 27, 1925 in Kenton
County, a daughter of the late James
Clifford and Ella Swetman Cavanaugh. She
married William Timothy Crotty and her dear
husband preceded her in death on December 2,
2000. She was a homemaker and a member of
the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church,
Falmouth.
She was preceded in death by her brother,
Carroll Cavanaugh and her sister, Joan
Schoborg.
She leaves four sons: Timothy Crotty of
Loveland, Ohio, James Crotty of Crittenden,
Martin Crotty of Falmouth and Kerry Crotty,
also of Falmouth; two daughters, Ellin
Crotty of Dayton, Ohio and Chrysteen Graf of
Williamsburg, Ohio; nine grandchildren and
one sister, Ann Price of Morningview.
Mass of Christian burial was Monday, January
6 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church
in Falmouth by Father Greg Bach. Pallbearers
were Timothy Crotty, James Crotty, Martin
Crotty, Gary Graf, Kerry Crotty and Adam
Bolinger. Music was shared by Martha Kelly
accompanied by Darryl Ammerman.
Interment was in the St. Francis Xavier
Cemetery, Falmouth.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis
Xavier Catholic Church, 202 Second Street,
Falmouth, KY 41040.
Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, was
entrusted with arrangements.
Lori E. (nee Ross)
Paynter, 35, of
Butler, passed away .
She was the beloved wife of Daniel T.
Paynter and devoted daughter of Bonnie
Dickerson (need Donaldson) and the late
William A. Ross.
She was the loving mother Tyler Stroup; dear
sister of Michael Ross (Anna); and
stepdaughter of Jerry Dickerson. Other
survivor include a niece and nephews.
Funeral services were Friday, December 27,
2002 at the Dennis George Funeral Home.
Memorials may be directed to the family, in
care of the funeral home.
