Mr.
Edward G.
Woodhead, 77, of Winter Haven,
Florida, passed away with cancer on Friday,
September 13, 2002 at the Winter Haven
Hospital.
Born in Newport, Ky., on September 21, 1924,
he came to Winter Haven from Midland, Texas,
15 years ago. He was a musician and was a
life member of the American Federation of
Musicians. He was a member of the Covenant
Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven. His
father and mother were Nelson and Elizabeth
Woodhead.
Mr. Woodhead is survived by his brother,
Donald Woodhead of Gainesville, Florida.
His uncle was John A. Woodhead of this city.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may
be made to the American Cancer Society, 1605
Lakeland Hill Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33805.
Memorial services were held in September at
the Coveneant Presbyterian Church in Winter
Haven.
Interment was Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at
Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth, under the
direction of Woodhead Funeral Home in
Falmouth.
Mary Mae
(Fleeman) Elrod, 98, of Foster,
passed away Thursday, March 27, 2003 at
River Valley Nursing Home in Butler.
She was born in Bracken County January 21,
1905, daughter of the late Henry Fleeman and
Mary (Fleitz) Fleeman. She was a homemaker
and a member of the Cemetery Chapel
Christian Church in Foster. She married
Graydon Reese Elrod in 1939, who preceded
her in death in 1986.
Also preceding her in death were brothers
and sisters, Nellie Meyer, Elizabeth Fleeman,
John Fleeman, Harry Fleeman and Rhine
Fleeman.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 29 at
Moore & Parker Funeral Home in Brooksville.
Interment was in the Lenoxburg Cemetery,
Foster.
Memorials are suggested to the Lenoxburg
Cemetery, 4235 Lenoxburg-Foster Road,
Foster, KY 41043.
Ralph Elander
Owens, 59, of Cold Spring, passed
away Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Lakeside
Nursing Home.
Mr. Owens was born in Ohio, son of John and
Goldie Gray Cuneo.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Brenda
Guffey; sons, Ralph Owens Jr. and Joseph
Owens, both of Ohio; brothers, John Cuneo of
Union, Walter Cuneo of Pennsylvania and
Geroge Cuneo of Newport; and sisters, Geneva
Downton of Cold Spring, Freeda Cornius of
Florida, Christina Rooks of Owinsville, Ohio
and Ruby Thomas of Bethel, Ohio.
Funeral services will be at the convenience
to the family.
Peoples Funeral Home is handling
arrangements.
Thelma Voss,
95, of Southgate, passed away at the
Northern Kentucky Rehabilitation and Care
Center Sunday, March 30, 2003.
Arrangements are pending at Cooper Funeral
Home in Grants Lick.
Tony Anderson,
69, of Alexandria, passed away Friday, March
28, 2003.
He was a retired driver for the National
Distilleries in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a
United States Army veteran of the Korean War
and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a
member of the VFW Post #6095, Latonia.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Anderson;
three sons, Tony L. Anderson of Tampa,
Florida, Rickie Anderson of Alexandria and
William Joseph Anderson, also of Alexandria;
three daughters, Phyllis Carter of Elsmere,
Pearl Keller of Walton and Sunshine Rose of
Alexandria; a sister, Bertha Sumpter of
Louisa, Ky.; a brother, Melvin Pack of
Louisa, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday,
April 1 at Cooper Funeral Home in Grants
Lick.
Interment will be in the Alexandria
Cemetery.
William R.
Smith, 89, of Butler, passed away
Friday, March 21, 2003 at the Rosedale Manor
Nursing Home.
William was born in Ohio on August 12, 1913,
son of James and Irene Deitch Smith. He was
a sheet metal worker for 33 years. He was
also a United States Navy veteran during
World War II. Preceding him in death were
his wife, Mary Alta Smith, a brother, Robert
Smith and a sister, Lois Lenoir.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Smith of
Butler; a daughter, Joyce Neal of Ft.
Thomas; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday,
April 4 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. A
memorial service will be held at 8 p.m.
Friday, April 4 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Butler Cemetery
under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home,
Butler.
