Mike Flaherty,
27, of Falmouth, passed away Sunday, May 25,
2003 at Metro Health in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mike was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August
27, 1975, son of Dan and Karen Thompson
Flaherty. He was a member of the World
Bullriding Federation, International
Professional Rodeo Association, and the
North American Bullriders Association. He
was also a truck driver for Tuemler Gas.
Survivors include his wife, Brandi Taylor
Flaherty; a son, Lane Michael Flaherty of
Falmouth; parents, Dan and Karen Flaherty of
Falmouth; and a sister, Dana Florence of
Bellevue.
Funeral services were Thursday, May 29 at
Trinity Southern Baptist Church in Falmouth.
Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery
under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home,
Falmouth.
Phyllis Fuller,
66, of Butler, passed away Sunday, May 25,
2003 at St. Elizabeth Hospital South.
Phyllis was born in Kentucky on October 7,
1936, daughter of Thelma Bickers Taylor. She
was a retired receptionist.
Survivors include her mother, Thelma Long of
Bellevue; a son, Bobby Fuller of Butler;
daughters, Karen Breitkreutz and Kathy
Lonaker, both of Butler; daughter-in-law,
Rose Fullor; son-in-law, Dale Breitkreutz;
brothers, Bob Fukano of Alexandria, Jay
Johnson of Bellevue and Richard Fukano of
Covington; sisters, Robin Foley of Dry Ridge
and Dotty Hoop of Newport; 10 grandchildren,
Christy Brock, Thomas McGovney, Sonny
Lonaker, Bob Fuller, Jennifer Fuller, Jesse
Fuller, Rebecca Harper, Jessica Breitkreutz,
Matthew Breitkreutz and Robbie Breitkreutz;
and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 28 at
Peoples Funeral Home in Falmouth.
Interment was in the Riverside Cemetery,
Falmouth.
Shirley
Woods McKinley, 66, of Lexington,
passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003 at the
U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
She was born on June 30, 1936 in Bracken
County, to the late Ernest and Altheria
Workman Woods. She was a homemaker and a
member of the Epworth United Methodist
Church in Lexington.
Also preceding her in death was a brother,
Billy Woods.
Survivors include her husband, William
“Bill” McKinley; a brother, Hanksford
(Estill) Woods of Mason County; a sister,
Ilene Ward of Richmond, Indiana; a
sister-in-law, Mary Woods of Maysville; and
two nieces and a nephew.
Graveside services were Tuesday, May 27 at
the Battle Grove Cemetery with Rev. Wayne
Sparks officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Drake
Whaley McCarty Funeral Home in Cynthiana.
Shirley
Clayton Smith, 88, of Georgetown,
formerly of Harrison County, passed away
Friday, May 23, 2003 at the Georgetown
Community Hospital.
He was born on January 4, 1915 in Harrison
County, son of the late Joe Pat and Maude
Smith. Shirley was a retired employee of the
Ladish Company in Cynthiana and a member of
the Antioch Mills Christian Church in
Harrison County. He was preceded in death by
his first wife, Marguerite Smith in 1972 and
a daughter, Evelyn Smith Tolson in 1991.
Surviving is his wife, Mae True Smith; and
two sons, Gordon Smith and Wayne Smith, both
of Berry.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 27 at the
Antioch Mills Christian Church under the
direction of Bro. Chad Doerr. Music was
shared by Elliott Williams and Amy Doerr.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Rogers, Rick Flaven,
Floyd Barnes, Ed Wiggins, Gary Barnard and
Roger Winkle.
Interment was in the Pythian Grove Cemetery,
Berry.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the
Antioch Mills Christian Church.
Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth served the
family.
Theodore
Wilson Jr., 78, of Falmouth, passed
away Saturday, May 24, 2003 at the River
Valley Nursing Home in Butler.
He was born on March 8, 1925 in Pendleton
County, son of the late Theodore and Kathryn
Perkins Wilson Sr. He was preceded in death
by his wife, Roma Grigson Wilson in 1987.
Ted was a retired electrician for the
Siemans Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was
a veteran of the United States Army serving
in World War II.
Surviving is a son, Theodore Wilson III of
Falmouth; daughters, Roma Wilson Bradley of
Newport and Susan Wilson of Erlanger; one
grandson; one great-granddaughter; and two
sisters, Elsie Adams and Joan Hart, both of
Falmouth.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 28 at
Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth with Rev.
Anne Kleinschmidt and Tom Parker
officiating. Serving as pallbearers were
Keith Bradley, Greg Hart, Ron Aber, Jerry
Fischer, Tom Parker and John Kleinschmidt.
Interment will full military honors by the
Hardin-Browning Post 109 was in the
Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the
Falmouth Christian Church, 303 W. Shelby
Street, Falmouth, KY 41040.
American Legion Post 109, VFW Post 1978 and
DAV Post held full military services for Mr.
Theodore Martin Wilson Jr. at the Riverside
Cemetery on May 28, 2003.
Mr. Wilson served in the United States Army
in World War II.
To Mr. Theodore Wilson Jr., we honor and
salute you.

American Legion Post 109, VFW Post 1978 and
DAV members present were Shelby McDowell,
Ray Hammond, Jim Sharp, Wallace Browning,

Virgil Young,
73, of Independence, passed away Saturday,
May 24, 2003 at his home.
Virgil was born in Leslie County, Ky., on
August 25, 1929, son of John and Rhoda
Wilson Young. He was preceded in death by a
son, Joseph Daniel Young, in 1981.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Mae
Young; a son, James (Judith) Young of
Florida; brothers, Dealous Young of Indiana
and Alonzo Young of Dry Ridge; sisters,
Ethel Osborne of Jackson, Mississippi,
Delphia Hooten of Walton and Nora Vaughn of
Morningview; two grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 28 at
Peoples Funeral Home in Butler.
Interment was in the Young Family Cemetery.
