Mary
“Sue” Browning Lynn passed away at
her home in DeMossville, Ky., on Wednesday,
September 3, 2003. She had been diagnosed
with cancer about eight years ago.She gave a
gallant fight until finally she was called
to Heaven. She was 62 years of age.
Sue was born January 15, 1941, in Pendleton
County, at the home of Johnny and Edna
Woods, her grandparents. Her father was
Howard Wilson Browning and her mother was
Mary Gertrude Woods Brown-ing. Both are
deceased.
Sue was a retired executive secretary of
Proctor and Gam-ble. She has served the
company for 38 years.
Sue was an active member of the Pendleton
County Historical Society. She headed the
committee to preserve the old marriage
records at the courthouse in Pendleton
County and helped with the refiling and
organizing the Barton Papers which were
damaged in the 1997 flood. She had also
served on other society committees, and a
former member of the Pendleton County
Women’s Democratic Commit-tee.
She enjoyed searching for her family roots.
Although her chosen profession was in an
office she was a country girl at heart. She
loved the outdoors and her dogs. She was a
crusader for what she believed to be right
and just. Her since of humor and unique
laugh will be remembered by all who knew and
loved her.
Survivors include daughter, Erin Lynn; son,
Duane Beatty; granddaughter Shawna Beatty;
sister, Connie Pfanstiel; niece, Roxane
Schosker; nephew, Paul “Brusier” Pfanstiel;
stepmother, Azalea Browning; stepbrother,
Donald Tomlin; two great-nephews and one
great-niece.
Pallbearers were Duane Beatty, Paul “Bru”
Pfanstiel Jr., Kyle Pfanstiel, Paul
Pfanstiel Sr., Stevie Sturdivant and Mark
Beach.
Services were held Monday at Chambers and
Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.
Interment was at the Alexandria Cemetery.
Memorials can be given to Hospice of Hope,
909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, KY
41056.
Delores Roulette,
86, of Edgemont Manor Nursing Home,
Cynthiana, Ky., passed away Sunday, August
31, 2003. Mrs. Roulette was born in
Pendleton County on August 16, 1917, the
daughter of James and Florence Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Edwin Samuel Roulette; brothers, James and
Ardell Henderson; and sister, Louise.
Survivors include son, Greg Roulette,
Falmouth, Ky.; daughter, Melanie Elam,
Berry, Ky.; three grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
Visitation and funeral services were held
Wednesday, Septem-ber 3, 2003 at Peoples
Funeral Home, Falmouth. Interment was in
Highland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the
Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Harland E.
Fields, 90, of Florence, Ky., passed
away Monday, September 1, 2003 at his home.
He was a former resident of Pendleton
County. He was born January 27, 1913 in
Bracken County, Ky., the son of Elijah and
Feddie Coleman Fields.
He was a member of Wil-liamstown Christian
Church and a stationary engineer employed by
Ford Motor Company of Sharonville, Ohio. He
was a member of Masonic Lodge #746 F.&A.M.
in Latonia, Ky.
Survivors include wife, Hazel Johnson Fields
of Florence, Ky.; daughter, Louise Browning
Lanter, Ft. Wright, Ky., and son, Thomas E.
Fields, Mariemont, Ohio; seven grandchildren
and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday,
September 3 at Elliston Stanley Funeral
Home. Interment was in Williamstown
Cemetery, Williamstown, Ky.
Bobby Alan
Draper, 56, of Louisville, Ky.,
formerly of Falmouth, passed away on
September 6, 2003 at the Jewish Hospital in
Louisville, Ky. He was born on February 22,
1947, son of the late Elmer and Florence
Brandt Draper. He was a member of the
Falmouth Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by two nieces, Marquerite
Cory and her husband Ron of Louisville, Ky.,
and Victoria Hegewald and her husband Falk
of Salt Lake City, Utah. He is also survived
by several cousins, the Wallace family of
Pendleton County.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 8
at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth,
officiated by Shelby McDowell. Interment was
in the Riverside Cemetery of Falmouth.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the
Falmouth Wes-leyan Church.

Arlie Wyatt, Jr.,
77, of Berry, passed away Sunday, September
14, 2003, at the Grant Manor Nursing Home in
Wil-liamstown. Born on January 16, 1926, he
was the son of the late Arlie and Ruth
Hamilton Wyatt, Sr. On August 21, 1947, he
married Geraldine Rigg Wyatt and his dear
wife survives his passing. He was a farmer,
a member of Richland Baptist Church, and a
member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge
#611, Falmo-uth. He was a U.S. Army veteran,
having served overseas during World War II.
In addition to his wife of 56 years,
Geraldine Rigg Wyatt, he leaves one
daughter, Debbie (J.B.) Barnes of Dry Ridge
and one son, Greg Wyatt of Burling-ton;
three grandchildren, Blaine, Brandon and
Stephanie; one sister, Ruby Wilson of Tampa,
Fla., and Genevieve Moses of Taylor Mill;
and one brother, Charles Wyatt of Bro-oksville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny
Wyatt; a daughter, Sue Wyatt; and a brother,
A.T. Wyatt.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 17 at the Woodhead Funeral
Home, Falmouth, with Bro. Don Mays
officiating. The visitation will be from 5-8
p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at the funeral
home. Interment will take place in the
Morgan Cemetery, Pendleton County.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of
the Bluegrass, 506 E. Pike St., Cynthiana,
KY 41031.
Elbert Damon
Whitaker, 82, Brooksville, passed
away Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at
Augusta Healthcare in Augusta, Ky.
Elbert was born on June 13, 1921 in Laurel
County. He was employed as an Auto Worker at
General Motors and served in the Navy in
World War II from June 29, 1942 until
February 18, 1946.
He was a member of the United Baptist Church
in Westwood, Ky. and was a Master Mason of
the Wyoming Chapter, Cincinnati Chapter of
Scottish Rite.
Elbert was preceded in death by his wife
Crystal Florence Whitaker, his father George
A. Whitaker, his mother Mary (Polly)
Whitaker, and nine brothers and sisters.
Elbert is survived by his children Arthur
(Connie) Whitaker of Wilmington, Ohio and
David (Leslie) Whitaker of Fairfield, Ohio;
grandchildren Art Whitaker, Jr., Heather
Cochran, Jason Whitaker and Eric Whitaker;
six great-grandchildren; and his sister
Sylvia Price of Somerset, Ky.
Funeral services took place at Moore and
Parker in Brooksville on Saturday, September
13, 2003.
Interment was at the Bracken Memorial
Cemetery in Brooksville.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of
Hope, 909 Kenton Station Dr. in Maysville,
Ky.
Gerald Wayne
Pollitt, 59, of Melbourne, passed
away Tuesday, September 9 at his residence.
He was a siding applicator for Ashcraft
Siding Company in Fort Thomas.
Survivors include his daughter, Tina
McDonald of Fort Thomas; his sister, Fay
Wade of Silver Grove; one grandchild and two
great-grandchildren.
Cooper Funeral Home of Grants Lick took care
of arrangements. Interment was at the
Alexandria Cemetery.
Verona Hamilton Cookendorfer, 81, of
Licking Street, Falmouth, Ky., passed away
Monday, September 8 at St. Luke Hospital
East in Ft. Thomas. Verona was born in
Bracken County, Ky., on April 29, 1922, the
daughter of the late Everett and Nora Owens
Hamilton. She was a retired LPN.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Earl Cookendorfer; brothers, Everett
Hamilton, Jr., Gilmore Hamilton, Paul
Hamilton; and half-brothers, Robert and
Eugene Hall; sisters, Estella Grimes, Betty
June Rice and Velma Hamilton; one grandson
and one granddaughter also preceded her in
death.
Survivors include sons, Terry, Rodney and
Loren Cookendorfer, of Falmouth; daughters,
Paula Cooper of Falmouth, and Karla
Cookendorfer Gerton of Louisville; brothers,
Adrian Hamilton of Union, Ky., brother,
Adrian Hamilton of Union, Ky.; and sister,
Elnora Fossett of Dayton, Ky.; nine
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11
at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. A private
funeral service was held on Friday, Sept.
12. Pallbearers were Paul, Loren, Jason and
Terry Cookendorfer, Nicholas Eichmann and
Richard Cooper. Interment was in Riverside
Cemetery under the direction of Peoples
Funeral Home, Falmouth.
