Warren Gamble Philpot, 82, of Berry, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2003, at the St. Joseph Hospital, Hospice Care Unit, in Lexington, Ky. Born on October 25, 1920 in Livingston, Ky., he was the son of the late John William and Mary Anne Howard Philpot. He was a retiree of the Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot, a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army, and a member of the Bluegrass United Pentecostal Church of Paris, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Mary Lee Mullins Philpot, a son, Warren Kenneth Philpot; one sister, Leona Ruth Philpot Whitaker; and three brothers, Charles Philpot, Lawrence Calvin Philpot, and Howard Philpot.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lorena Griffin Philpot; a son, Raymond Estelle (Christine) Philpot; two daughters, Norma Jean Philpot (William) Eals and Wanda Lois Philpot (Donald) Ritchie, all of Harrison County; nine grandchildren; Kenneth Ray (Linda) Philpot, Sherri Lynn Philpot (Robbie) Toomey, Christopher Lee (Annette) Philpot, Pamela Lee Moore (John) Hendrix, Daryl Ray (Frances) Moore, Jessica Dawn Eals, Michelle Lois Ritchie, Mary Denise Ritchie O’Brien, Raymond Eugene (Bridget) Ritchie, all of Harrison County 12 great grandchildren, Kyle Warren Philpot, Marc Andrew Philpot, Caleb Michael Philpot, Madison Leigh Philpot, Alexa Danielle Lyons, Lauren Nicole Lyons, Nathan Lee Hendrix, Emily Jane Hendrix, Trevor Ray Gamble Ritchie, Ashley Nicole O’Brien, Eric Dale O’Brien, and Alannah Renee Ritchie; five step great grandchildren, Antonia Baxter, John Ross Hendrix, Lyle Hendrix, Justin Hendrix, and Zachary Toomey; 2 brothers James Solomon Philpot, John William Philpot, Jr.; and one sister, Carolyn Fay Grubbs, all of Cynthiana.
Funeral services were held on
Thursday, October 9, 2003 at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, with Bro. Gale Meyers, Bro. Ronald Knox, and Bro. Daniel J. Long officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Kenneth Ray Philpot, Christopher Lee Philpot, Raymond Eugene Ritchie, Daryl Ray Moore, Gary Dale Philpot, Gerald Wayne Philpot, John Hendrix and Robbie Toomey. The honorary pallbearers were Ed Hounshell, Wesley Turley, John Philpot III, Kelly Wayne Grubbs, Charles Philpot, and Tommy Fish.
Interment with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post #109 took place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Military services were held by American Legion Post #109, V.F.W. Post #1978, and D.A.V. members at the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry, Ky., on October 9, 2003.

Les Loechle, 60, of New Castle, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Covington, Ky., the son of Sylvester and Marjorie (Steinfort) Loechle. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, member of the Filson Club of Louisville, and was employed as Purchasing Director at Amatrol in Clarksville, Indiana. Les served as President of the Pendleton County Historical & Genealogical Society from January 2003 until his death. He was one of the earliest members of the Society having joined in November 1993, shortly after the Society was originally founded. He served as Vice President and First Vice President for a number of years until his recent election to President. He was always present to help with nearly every activity or project of the Society. Despite his not knowing of his condition, he never once hesitated to help trim brush or reset a tombstone in a local cemetery, spend numerous hours walking through cemeteries researching his family history, or help with any project the Society asked him to assist in. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and had the opportunity to work with him.
He is survived by his wife Victoria (Fornash) Loechle; two sons, John David Loechle, Crestwood, Ky, Ralph Errick Loechle, Port Royal, Ky.; one sister, Sylvia Ruth Doll, Covington, Ky.; one brother, David Ralph Loechle of Cincinnati, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Prewitt Funeral Home, New Castle.
Interment took place at the New Castle Cemetery.


Robert Connolly, 57, of Falmouth, Ky. passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at the V.A. Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on June 9, 1946, he was a son of the late Walter Anson and Ruthanna Tritten Connolly. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include 1 sister, Mary Anne Wehrend, Cincinnati (Covedale), Ohio; 1 brother, Donald Connolly, Cincinnati (Anderson Township), Ohio; 2 nieces, Julian Wehrend Peckiupaugh, Cincinnati, Ohio, Amy Connolly, Los Angeles, Ca; and 1 nephew, Brian Connolly, New York, NY.
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family and were conducted by Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky..
Interment took place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pendleton County.

Donna Mayer, 54, of Butler, Ky., passed away Saturday October 18, 2003 at St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, Ky. She was an L.P.N. for the Urology Group, Ft. Thomas, Ky., and a member of Persimmon Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include husband, Jim Mayer, Butler, Ky. One son; Eric (Lisa) Mayer, Butler, Ky., four daughters; Melissa (Don) Conway, California, Ky., Tonya (Kevin) Lovelace, Falmouth, Ky., Renee Mayer, Butler, Ky., Miranda Mayer, Butler, Ky. one brothers, William Guthier, Union, Ky., Mark Guthier, Cold Spring, Ky. Two sisters; Maria Guthier, Melbourne, Ky., Michele Houston, Brooksville, Ky. Parents William and Melrose Guthier, Camp Springs, Ky. 5 grandchildren; Kevin and Ryan Lovelace, Cassie, Kaitlin and Carissa Conway. Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 22, 2003, with visitation starting at 2 p.m. at Persimmon Grove Baptist Church, Campbell County, going until 6 p.m.
Interment will take place at Persimmon Grove Cemetery, Campbell County, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home, Butler, Ky.
Memorials are suggested to Persimmon Grove Baptist Church Buiding Fund P.O.Box 148, Alexandria, Ky. 41001-0148.


Ruth Jane Northcutt, 74 of Cynthiana, Ky, passed away Wednesday October, 15, 2003 at her home. She was born on December 11, 1928; daughter of the late Sherman Lang and Lucille Denise Teals. She married Merrill E. Northcutt on June 21, 1974, and her husband survives her passing. She was a member if the New Hope Church of Christ.
Survivors include husband, Merrill Northcutt, one daughter, Patty (Welborn Jr.) Adams of Berry, one son, Larry (Diana) Wells of Berry, 2 stepdaughter's; Anna Mae (Jimmy) Brooks and Patsy Northcutt both of Cynthiana, 5 step-sons; Merrill Northcutt, Jr. Donald (Rosetta) Northcutt, Robert (Norma) Wells all of Cynthiana, Brian (Donna) Northcutt, Randy (Tina) Northcutt, both of Berry. Three grandchildren; Julie (Richard) Dailey of Cynthiana, Chip Adams of Lexington, Lucas Wells of Berry. One great grandson; Isaac Dailey of Cynthiana, 10 step-grandchildren; T.J. and Brittney Barnes, Scott and Drew Northcutt, Nathan and Jamison Brooks, Keith and Ben Northcutt, Amy and Brian Turner, and three step great grandchildren; Zack, Skyler, and Tennessee Turner.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday October 18, 2003 at the Woodhead Funeral Home in Berry with Bro. Roger Anderson and Bro. Merrill Mitchell officiating. Music was shared by Neal Holmes. Pallbearers for the service were James Anderson, Ronnie Cooper, Roger Taylor, Ray Ledford, Troy Gregg, and Stanley Northcutt. The honary pallbearers were Billy Jett, Dr. Don Stephens, Kenny Williams, Ed Culberston, Jr. Adams, Bobby Wells, Montgomery Northcutt, Sam Arnold III, Bruce Hampton, Edward Milner, and Bob Lenox.
Interment took place in the Pyhtian Grove Cemetery.
Memorials contributions are suggested to the New Hope Church of Christ or the Hospice of the Bluegrass.


Charles H. Gilbert Sr., 61, of Foster, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2003, at his home. Born on January 25, 1942, in KY., he was the son of William C. and Edna Fay (Smith) Gilbert. He was a self-employed truck driver.
He is survived by his wife Alma (Jackie) Lowery; Sons, Fred Gilbert, Rick Gilbert, Tony Gilbert all of Falmouth, Ky., Bud Gilbert, Independence, Ky., David Gilbert, Foster, Ky., Daughters, Patsy Lonaker, Foster, Ky., Linda Razor, Falmouth, Ky., Angie Hurst, Ryland Heights, Ky., Cindy Wanstrath, Falmouth, Ky., Brother, Soloman Gilbert, Falmouth, Ky., Sisters, Sara Eliza Teegarden, Falmouth, Ky., Patricia Irene Moore, Cynthiana, Ky., Mable Overby, Point Pleasant, Ohio.
Other children that lived in the Gilbert home: Bob Gilbert, John Gilbert, Tammy Gilbert, Frank Lowery, Bill Lowery, Crystal Moore, Angie Moore, Danny Moore, Billy Lykins, Bonnie Lykins, James Moore, Britt Lowery, Becky Boo Lowery, Amanda Herrmann, Earl Mefford.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, October 15, at Cemetery Chapel in Lenoxburg. Musical selections were played by Kaye Johnting.
Interment took place at the Lenoxburg Cemetery, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, Maysville, Ky.


Hayley and Bayley Collins, Infant twins of Falmouth, Ky. passed away after hours of birth on Tuesday October 7, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Survivors include parents, Tommy and Andrea-Collins, Falmouth, Ky.; Grandparents, Terry and Shirley Russell, Verona, Ky.; Grandfather, Stephen Pennington, Washington D.C.; Grandmother, Patsy Patrick, Jackson, Ky.; Grandfather, Tommy Collins, Oxford, Ohio; Grandfather, Willard Shelton, Falmouth, Ky.; Grandparents, Robert and Shirley Meade, North Carolina; Grandmother, Thelma Patrick, Williamsburg,Ky.; Grandmot-her,Peggy Pennington, West Moreland, Tn., and their Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral services were at Riverside Cemetery on Friday October, 10, 2003, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home.
