Falmouth Outlook, October 28, 2003

Christopher Lynn Rarrieck, 23, of Falmouth, passed away on Saturday October 25, 2003 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., after suffering burns in a trailer fire. He was born on January 3, 1980 and was a self employed Roofer and Painter. He was the son of George Edward and Sharon Burkhart Rarrieck, Sr.
He is survived by his parents, George and Sharon Burkhart Rarrieck of Williamstown. Also surviving are 3 children; Levi Austin Rarrieck, Alexandria, Ky., Matthew Tyler Rarrieck, Dayton, Ky., Haley Nicole Rarrick, Maysville, Ky. Three brothers; George “Eddie” Rarrieck, Jr., Falmouth, Ky., Jimmy Ray Rarrieck, London, Ky., Brian Rarrieck, Corbin, Ky.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 28, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth, Ky with Isaac Proffitt officiating. The pallbearers will be George “Eddie” Rarrieck, Jr., Jimmy Rarrieck, Sr., Brian Rarrieck, Cory Adams, Brian Urven, Michael Florence, and Steve Butts, Jr.
Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Falmouth, Ky.


Jason Beyersdoerfer, 20, of California, Ky. passed away Friday, October 24, 2003 after injuries sustained in a traffic accident. He was born July 3, 1983 in Campbell Co.
Survivors include his father, Ronnie Beyersdoerfer, Butler, Ky., his mother, Sherry Schnitzler Beyersdoerfer, California, Ky., grandparents, James and Dorothy Schnitzler, Butler, Ky., two brothers, Ronald Beyersdoerfer II, Falmouth, Ky., Tyler Beyersdoerfer, California, Ky., one sister, Megan Beyersdoerfer, California, Ky., a half sister April Beyersdoerfer, Butler, Ky., one niece; Natalie Beyersdoerfer, several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 2 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.
Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.


Marjorie Clark Shields, 76, of Ft. Worth, Texas passed away Tuesday October 21, 2003 at her residence in Ft Worth. Marjorie was born June 13, 1927 in Falmouth, Ky., to Leslie Clark and Louis Elizabeth Houston Shields. She attended Oklahoma State University and graduated from the University of Kentucky. She moved west to start a career in Ft. Worth in the early 1950’s. Her 50 year career included quality time with Convair, General Dynamics and the Federal Aviation Administration where she retired in 2001.
Survivors include nieces and nephews: Marvin T. Tabor, Jr. of Big Canoe, Ga., James Houston Tabor, Elizabeth Dee Tabor, Sue Lynn Warren of Tulsa, Okla., and Rhoda Kay Eastes of Austin; 11 great nieces and nephews; 4 great great nieces and nephews; many many friends who were all blessed by her life.
Memorial service was held, October 24, 2003 at Leonard Memorial Chapel, First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will also be held in her hometown of Falmouth, Ky., at a later date to be announced.


Falmouth Outlook, November 4, 2003

Landen Joseph Spence, 23 months, of Falmouth, passed away on Sunday November, 2, 2003 at his home. He was born on November 26, 2001, in Ft. Thomas, Ky., the son of Allen and Paula Delaney Spence. He was preceded in death by his uncle, Stephen Delaney, August 28, 1989.
In addition to his parents, Allen and Paula Spence, he leaves his brother, Garrett Stephen Spence, Falmouth; his maternal grandparents, Joe Paul and Janet Delaney, Falmouth; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Mildred Spence, Falmouth; his maternal great grandmother, Zola Yelton, Williamstown; his aunts, Kim (Dennis) Jenkins, Falmouth, (also godparents) Amy (Kevin) Schadler, Cali-fornia, Ky., and Debbie (Barry) Mains, Falmouth; cousins; Darcie Mains, Brian Jenkins, Sarah Jenkins and Maddie Jo Schadler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Falmouth, with Father Gregory Bach and Father Rick Frazier officiating. The pallbearers will be Kenny Holbrook, Stacey Wells, Eddie Bishop, and Kevin Schadler.
The visitation will be from 11-2 p.m. at the church.
Interment will take place in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Falmouth.
Memorials are suggested to the Landen Spence Memorial Fund c/o Fifth Third Bank, 280 U.S. 27, Falmouth, KY. 41040. All donations to the memorial fund will be donated to the children who receive care at the Children’s Hospital Hematol-ogy/Oncology Department.

Tilford E. “Pete” Menefee, 90, of Demossville passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at Veteran’s Hospital in Cincinnati. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Wilmington Baptist Church.
Survivors include; five sons, James and Gary Menefee, Piner, Michael and Ike Menefee, Fisk-burg, Roger Menefee, Mays-ville. Three daughters; Regina Menefee Webber, Eckenhagen, Germany, Rebecca McNamee, Crittenden, Oma Renee Acree, Independence. Two brothers; Lloyd Menefee, Louisville, Marvin Menefee, Latonia. One sister Naomi Phillips, Latonia. 20 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 1, 2003 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.
Interment was at Gard-nersville Cemetery.
Memorials can be sent to the Wilmington Baptist Church at 15472 Madison Pike, Morning View, KY. 41063.


Hazel Fries, 89, of Alexandria, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2003 at Highland Heights Nursing and Rehabilition Center.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Peoples Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky.


Gladys Marion (Daniels) Yates, 73, of Foster, passed away on Sunday November 2, 2003 in Bracken County. She was born on April 18, 1930 in Dover, Ky., and was a retired housekeeper The daughter of the late Willard Frank and Lona Frances (Clark) Daniels. She was preceded in death by her first husband Okey Thornton in 1959, and two daughters, Patty Nickson, Carol Jean Yates.
She is survived by her husband David Yates, two sons; Frank Thornton, Maysville, Ky., Jake Thornton, Alexandria, Ky.; three daughters; Millie Hiles and Bonnie Jarvis, both of Butler, Ky., Thelma “Julie” Meadows, Butler, Ky., thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one brother; James Daniels, Ripley, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held on November 5 at 2 p.m. at Moore and Parker Funeral Home, Augusta, Ky, with visitation on Tuesday from 5-9 p.m.
Interment will be in Lenoxburg Cemetery, Foster, Ky.

Janice Elaine Huffman, 60, of Tamarack Drive, Lexington, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2003 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Born on April 20, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Ash and Evelyn Porter Huffman. She was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church, Harrison County. For 28 years, she owned and operated Tommy’s Drive-In Restaurant on South Broadway in Lexington. For 15 years she worked in food service at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Ray Porter, Gene Huffman, and Donnie Huffman.
She is survived by two sisters; Helen Huffman, Lexington, Ky., Bonnie Smith, Paris, Ky., four brothers; Jimmy Huffman, Billy Huffman, Ronnie (Buck) Huffman and Shearl (Toe) Huffman, all of Berry, Ky. Several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 30, 2003, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Berry, with Rev. Larry Jones officiating. The pallbearers were Charles Land Huffman, Ethan Huffman, Carl Porter, Denny Otis, Jim Strouse, Phillip King, James Bales, Jr., Richard Smith-Monahan, Mike Mitchell, D.R. Vaughn, Shane Mitchell, and Seth Mitchell.
Interment will take place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry, Ky.


Peggy Wilson Bickers, 72, of Cynthiana, formerly of Pendle-ton County, passed away on Saturday November 1, 2003 at her daughters home in Pendleton County. She was born on March 18, 1931 in Newport, Ky., and grew up in Highland Heights, Ky. She was the daughter of Charles and Helen Gaskins Wilson. She married Doug Bickers on August 22, 1953. She graduated from Campbell County High School in 1949 and graduated from Morehead State College in 1953 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught at the following schools: Columbus City Schools, Columbus, Ohio, Vaca-ville Unified School District, Vacaville, Calif., Fairfield Uni-fied School District, Fairfield, Calif., Campbell County School District, Alexandria, Ky., Carroll County School District, Carrol-ton, Ky. She was a member of the Cynthiana Methodist Church and United Methodist Women’s Organization.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; Tommy, Jerry, and Jimmy Wilson, and one sister Margie Mulloy.
She is survived by her husband Doug Bickers, Cynthiana, Ky.; one daughter; Denise Bickers Bray, Mt. Auburn, Ky., two sisters; Shirley Howard, Taylor Mill, Ky., Carolyn Hamblin, Bracken County, one grandchild; Tyler Douglas Sparks.
Visitation will be Tuesday November 4, 2003 3-7:30 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home in Falmouth.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 5, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.
Interment will be in the Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana, Ky.

Howard N. “Dick” Thompson, 90, of Berry, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2003 at his residence. He was born on December 6, 1912 in Pendleton County, the son of the late Alvin and Minnie Thompson. He was a Railroad conductor for 40 years with the C&O Railroad. He was a member of the Marcus Baptist Church. His dear wife of 45 years, Sarah Worthington Thompson survives his passing.
Along with his wife, he is survived by one step-daughter, Carleen Harris, Nicholasville, Ky., two step-sons; Henry Wolfe, Paris, Ky., Jerry Wolfe, Ocala, Fla., four grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren,four step-great-grandchildren, three step great- great- grandchildren; one sister, Mary Bentle, Falmouth, Ky., several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter; Barbara Eckler, and step-daughter, Mary Wright.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 from 5-8 p.m. at the Woodhead Funeral Home in Berry.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Woodhead Funeral Home in Berry, with Bro. Jay Holt officiating.
Interment will be in the Pythian Grove Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Hope, Maysville, Ky.
