Earl Vaughn Hart, 74, Falmouth

Earl Vaughn Hart, 74, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at the Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, Ky. Born on May 13, 1930, he was a son of the late Stanley E. and Goldie Frances McClanahan Hart. On November 26, 1953 he married Elsie Townsend Hart and his dear wife survives his passing. He was a farmer and a machinist with Gilbert Machine and Tool in Cincinnati, Ohio, a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean Conflict, a member and deacon of Falmouth Christian Church, Director of Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Former director of Kentucky Farm Bureau, and former Director of Kincaid Park Association. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford A. and Paul E. Hart.
In addition to his wife Elsie, of 51 years, he leaves his daughter, Karen (John) Delaney of Falmouth, Ky., two granddaughters, Jennifer and Elizabeth Delaney, and one sister, Wilma Faye Hoffman of Jonesville, Ky.
Services were held Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth with Rev. John Kleinschmidt officiating, with full military honors by the American Legion Post #109, V.F.W. Post #1978 and D.A.V. Post at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Mr. Hart served in the United States Army in the Korean War. To Mr. Hart we honor and salute you. To the family we offer our sympathy. American Legion Post #109, V.F.W. Post #1978 and D.A.V. Post members present were Ray Hammond, Jim Hammond, Carl Butcher, Wallace Browning, Charles Biddle, Jim Sharp, Jonathan Smith, Jerry Fields, Richard Cox, Strod Hamilton, Tom Biddle, Sam Hodge, Bruce Westbrook, Bill Williams, Donald Steele, Jim Morton, Bob Gulick, Charles Lemmons, Donnie Wells, Alvin Bonar, Dan Woodhead and Shelby McDowell.
Taps was played by Sam Hodge. Another Veteran was laid to rest.
Pallbearers were Bill Hart, David Hart, Bud Roe, Gary Hart, Richard Broadus, and Tim Norton. Honorary pallbearers were George Ross Latimer, J.W. McKinney, Jerry Worrell, Pete Steele, Carl Rardin, Charles Conrad, Kenneth Butcher, Danny Townsend, and Bob Jones.
Interment took place in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Pendleton County.

Elmer Norton, 82, Butler

Elmer Norton, 82, of Butler, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at his home. Elmer was born in Pendleton County Kentucky on February 16, 1922. He was the son of the late Clarence and Mary Hill Norton. He received a purple heart serving for the U.S. Army in World War II, a member of the American Legion Post #109, retired from Feldman Dairy in Wilder, Ky., and he was also a Pendleton County Farmer. He married Geneva Jett Norton on March 16, 1946 and his dear wife survives his passing. He was preceded in death by his brother, Everett R. Norton and sister Ruth Fryer.
Additional survivors include: sons, Steve (Bessie) Norton, Florence, Ky., Elmer Lynn (Jackie) Norton, Falmouth, Ky., brothers, Bob Norton, Butler, Ky., William Norton, Hamilton, Ohio, six grandchildren, Gary, Vickie and Kim Norton, Amy Norton Jaskowiak, Noll Crissy Swafford, Teresa Patton, eight great-grandchildren, and special friend, Jean Chambers
Services were held on Friday, February 11, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky. Pallbearers were Gary Norton, Paul Noll, Stuart Jaskowiak, Tim Norton, Scott Nordheim, Nathon Norton. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Fetters, Chester Wiggins, Lemuel Jett, Bob Jett, Kenneth Paul, Philip Norton and Robert Campbell.
Interment took place in the Butler Cemetery.

Emily Jo Brown, 86, California

Emily Jo Brown, 86, of California, Ky., passed away on Friday, February 11, 2005 at the St. Luke Hospital East in Ft. Thomas, Ky. Born in Kentucky on September 12, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Emma Barbara Lieberman Beinker, member of the Persimmon Grove Baptist Church, and worked at Shillito’s for 25 years. She married Earl Elgin Brown on April 17, 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Elgin Brown and brother Fred Breinker.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Jo Perkins, Alexandria, Ky., Judy Weisner, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Barbara Rawe, California, Ky., eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the Persimmon Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky.
Interment will take place in the Persimmon Grove Ceme-tery.

John Polanski, 73, Falmouth

John Polanski, 73, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at his home. John was born in New Jersey on April 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Alex and Anna Polanski. He was a member of the American Legion in New Jersey and was a member of the Air Force where he was involved in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter P. Lans.
Survivors inculde his son, Alan Polanski, New Jersey, daughters, Mindy Miller, Mason, Ohio, Jeannie Tate, Falmouth, Ky., Sheila Polanski, Falmouth, Ky., Cindy Mejias, Dayton, New Jersey, sisters, Marie Spogantz, Rose Bernas, and Helen Kanda all of New Jersey, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday, February 14, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.
Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery.

 

Johnny Heitmeier, 75, Butler

Johnny L. Heitmeier, 75, of Butler, Ky., passed away on Friday, February 11, 2005, at the St. Luke Hospital, East. Born on September 22, 1929, the son of the late Lawrence and Nettie Abner Heitmeier. He worked at Ford Motor Co. in Sharonville, a U.S. Marine Veteran, member of St. Peter Paul Catholic Church. He married Garnett McCarter on February 13, 1954 and she survives his passing.
Additional survivors include, sons, Robert Morgan, Califor-nia, Ky., John Heitmeier, Butler, Ky., daughters, Diana Heit-meier, Newport, Ky., Sharon Remley and Sandra Mullins, both of Butler, Ky., sister, Alice Perry, Dayton, Ky., Edith Feiler, Newport, Ky., fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home.
Interment will take place in the Persimmon Grove Cemetery, Grants Lick, Ky.

 

Nancy Wright, 60, Butler

Nancy Elizabeth “Liz” Wright, 60, of Butler, Ky., passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital. Nancy was born in Kentucky on November 30, 1944, she was the daughter of the late James Shade Anderson and Mary Ducker Wright. She married Roland Wright on September 16, 1961, and he survives her passing.

Services were held on Saturday, February 12, at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.
Interment took place in the Peach Grove Cemetery.

Hazel Eckenrode, 67, Demossville

Hazel L. Eckenrode, 67, of Demossville, Ky., passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital. Hazel was born in Blanchester, Ohio on July 17, 1937, the daughter of the late Robert Franklin and Elva Hopper Wiggins. She was a retired florist at the Butler Florist in Butler, Ky. She married Donald Eckenrode and he passed away on October 28, 1982.
Survivors include her son, Steven Eckenrode, Elsmere, Ky., daughters, Donna Ulrich, Dayton, Ohio, Judy Ramsey, Falmouth, Ky., brother, Paul Wiggins, Newport, Ky., step-brother, George Nelson Jr., Dillesboro, Ind., sister, Violet Cruetz, Ft. Myers, Fla., five grandchildren, Laura Burke, Parvonneh Gutter, Jennifer, Douglas and Matthew Ramsey, and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Friday, February 18, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Fal-mouth, Ky.
Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery.

 

 

Oscar McDowell, 86, Covington

Oscar B. McDowell, 86, of Covington, Ky., passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2005, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center North in Covington. Born in Pendleton County, Kentucky on August 6, 1918, he was the son of the late J.O. and Ella Lawson McDowell. He married Alma Carroll McDowell on July 12, 1947, and his dear wife survives his passing. He was retired from the LeBlond Corporation of (Oakley) Cincinnati, Ohio, after 33 years of service. He was a former member and past officer of the Covington First Church of the Nazarene. Since 1987, he was a member of the Eastside Church of the Nazarene in Covington. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during World War II and stationed overseas in the Persian Gulf and Iran. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Marie Flynn, Martha Ramsey, Anna Simpson, and Judith Tucker; one niece, Jenny Caddell, and two nephews, David Tucker and Ronnie Carroll.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, Alma, he leaves 66 nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Tues-day, February 8, 2005 at the Eastside Church of the Naz-arene, 2505 Eastern Avenue, Covington, Ky., with Bro. James Lanham officiating.
Interment with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post #109 took place in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Pendleton County.
Casket bearers were his nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Eastside Church of the Nazarene, Northern Kentucky Hospice or St. Elizabeth North, Covington.

Alicia Colvin, 23, Falmouth

Alicia Danielle Colvin, 23, of Falmouth, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2005 in an automobile accident on Hwy. 27 South of Falmouth. Born on April 30, 1981 in Covington, Ky., she was the daughter of Roger and Marcia Cropper Colvin of Falmouth. She graduated from Pendleton County High School in 1999, and was a graduate from The Wellman School of Modeling. She had just started working at Dillard’s in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Colvin in 1980.
In addition to her parents, Roger and Marcia Colvin, she leaves her son, Carter Ryan Petrey at home, her brother Ryan James Colvin, Falmouth, maternal grandparents, William O. and Christine Cropper, Cold Spring, Ky., paternal grandmother, Alta Colvin, Falmouth, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at the Falmouth United Methodist Church, Shelby Street, Falmouth, Ky., with Rev. Donna Jones officiating. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday until time of the service at the Church. Pallbearers will be Justin Hasken, Travis Hubbard, Adam Jacob, Cody Delk, Chad Wolfe, Lindsey Crawford, Brooke Crawford, Brandon Bosley and Jennifer Flynn. Honorary pallbearers will be Tiffany Fardo, Christie Custer and Olivia Cropper. Woodhead Funeral Home handeled the arrangements for the family.
Interment will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Fal-mouth, Ky.

George Elwood Jaeger, 80 of Califor-nia, Ky., passed away on Thursday, February, 17, 2005 at St. Luke Hospital, Ft. Thomas, Ky., he was a retired Director of Human Resources of Cincinnati Mila-cron, a member of the Butler Christian Church, Church Elder, former Chairman and member of the Board of Directors, Christian Church Homes of KY. Member of the Regional Board of Christian Church Disciples of Christ Lion’s Club, Butler, Ky. A WW II Veteran with the US Army, member of the American Legion, Independence, Ky., Woodworking Club of greater Cincinnati, Chairman, Northern KY Planning and Zoning, Covington Civil Service Comm-ission, Kenton County School Board Member.
Survivors include, spouse, Betty Barnes Jaeger, California, Ky., daughters, Dr. Marsha Jaeger, El Cerrito, Calif., Dr. Peggy McDannold, California, Ky., son, Dr. John Jaeger, New Castle, Ky.

Lenox Ishmael, 86, Florida, passed away on January 5, 2005 at Southern Oaks Health Care Center in St. Cloud, Fla. Born in Cynthiana, Ky., he was a homebuilder in the construction industry, a member of the Stetson Baptist Church in Deland.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda Myers, San Antonio, Texas, Rebecca Mannary, Gree-nsboro, N.C., Delores Eagle, St. Cloud, Fla., six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

Ira Lee McNees, 84, Falmouth

Ira Lee McNees, 84, of Falmouth, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler. Born on September 1, 1920 in Falmouth, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Stanley and Gertrude Florence McNees. He married Pansy Smith McNees and his dear wife survives his passing. He was retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation, Falmouth and he was a member of the Falmouth Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served overseas, and a member of the Hardin Browning Post #109, Falmouth. He was preceded in death by his son Lee McNees in 1999.
In addition to his wife, Pansy, he leaves five sisters: Kathleen Haley, Butler, Ky., Evelyn Baumstark, Dry Ridge, Ky., Mary Hisel, Falmouth, Ky., Marcella Finnell, Tayor Mill, Ky., and Bonnie Day, Coving-ton, Ky., one brother, John McNees, Covington, Ky., two grandsons, Dion Leland McNees, and Stanley Joseph McNees, and one granddaughter, Melissa Lee McNees.
Services were held on Monday, February 7, 2005 by Bro. Fred Workman at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. His nephews served as the casket bearers.
Interment with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post #109 took place in the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

Penny Maxedon, 80, Butler

Penny Maxedon, 80, of Butler, Ky., passed away on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the St. Luke Hospital in Ft. Thomas, Ky. Penny was born in Walbash, Ind., on June 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Harvey and Irene Cole Shockey. In 1956 Penny and her husband Dean went on the T.V. show The Midwestern Hayride until 1972, her T.V. name was Penny West and his was Dean Richards, they were the M.C’s. She also played the bass fiddle for the band Lucky Pennies. She married Dean Richard Maxedon and he passed away on December 5, 1997.
Survivors include her son Dean “Rich” Maxedon Jr., Butler, Ky., Ben Maxedon, Zebulon, Ga., John F. Maxedon, Butler, Ky., daughters, Brenda Hitch, Falmouth, Ky., Tresa Cummins, Falmouth, Ky., Marla Purcell, Falmouth, Ky., brother, Daniel Shockey, Virginia, sister, Donna Fisher, Arizona, twenty- three grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday, February 28, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.,
Interment took place in the Butler Cemetery.

Beverly J. Price, 59, of Heath, Ohio, formerly of Falmouth passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at the Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio. She was born in Covington, Ky., a daughter of Kenneth and Wanda Wilson Harper of Falmouth, Ky. She was a member of the Oakland Christian Church, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid NASCAR and University of Kentucky fan.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her son, Robert Kent (Bonnie) Price, Jacksontown, Ohio, daughter, Krista Gail Price and Danny Brooks, Heath, Ohio, brothers, Stephen (Pam) Harper and Phillip (Margaret) Harper both of Falmouth, Ky., grandchildren, Jacob Corder, Dustin Price, Taylor Brooks, Trevor Price, Kole Brooks, Rebecca Price. Several nieces and nephews and best friends Janice and Eddie Williamson, Heath, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 1850 W. Main Street, Newark, Ohio, and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth, Ky.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth by Bro. John Byard and Rev. Don Mays.
Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Pendleton County.

Margaret May Vogel, 98, of Highland Heights, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at The River Valley Nursing Home, Butler, Ky. She was a homemaker, past President of St. Marys Ladies Society, St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring, Ky. She was the oldest member of St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring, Ky., a volunteer for Lakeside Place, Highland Heights, Ky., a volunteer Election poll worker for forty years. She crocheted afghan blankets for each of her grandchildren. She was the wife of the late George Vogel. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Vogel and daughter, Diane Vogel Herbert.
Survivors include, daughters, Joan Wehrman, California, Ky., Carol Havin, Cold Spring, Ky., fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, February 21, 2005 at The St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring, Ky.
Interment took place in the St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas, Ky.

Janice Faye Jones, 57, of Corinth, passed away on Sunday February 20, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Williamstown. She was a former assembly worker for STM Russell Manufacturing in Georgetown. She was also a former cook, and waitress for Freeway Restaurants in Corinth.
Survivors include, husband, Joe V. Jones Jr., Corinth, Ky., daughters, Robin Wolfe, Fal-mouth, Ky., Sherry Campbell, Corinth, Ky., son Mark A. Jones, Corinth, Ky., sister, Judy Wagenschien, Yorktown, Texas, brothers, Jackie Glass and Robert Jeffrey Glass, both of Owenton County, Ky., a dear friend, Janet Neuspickel, Corinth, Ky., six grandchildren, James Wolfe, Sarah Landrum, Doug Ensor, Rochelle Ensor, Marybeth Campbell and Kaitlyn Mae Jones, five great-grandchildren, Sierra Bowin, NaTasha Paul, Hayden Willhite, Felicity Landrum and Sydney Partin.

Robert Sparks, 74, Ohio

Robert Sparks, 74, of Milford, Ohio, formerly of Pendleton County Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the Clermont Nursing and Convalescent Center. Robert was born in Kentucky on March 6, 1930. He was the son of the late Alvie and Viola Wilson Sparks, a member of the Roanoke Christian Church. He married Cassie Combs Sparks on February 19, 1995 and she passed away on May 1, 1999.
Survivors include his brother, Woodrow Wilson, Cincinnati, Ohio, sisters, Niecie Hopkins, Waxahachie, Texas, Mildred Brown, Blanchester, Ohio, Brenda Harvey, Batavia, Ohio, Ollie Ellenberger, Birmingham, Ala.
Services were held on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Roanoke Christian Church in Pendleton County, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.
Interment took place in the Roanoke Cemetery.

Cecil Sullivan, 96, Falmouth

Cecil Osborne Sullivan, 96, of Falmouth, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2005 at his home. Born on September 29, 1908 in Pendleton County, he was a son of the late Morena Sorrell and Osborne W. Sullivan. He was the Eldest member of Turner Ridge Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, Falmouth Council 152 of Jr. OUAM, Director of Farm Bureau, and a magistrate for 8 years in the Falmouth Precinct. He was a farmer and he loved animals, especially horses.

Addie Barrett Alford, 74, of Berry, Ky., passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at her home. Born on February 4, 1931 in Bonneville, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Bent and Mary Young Barrett. She married Caleb Alford and he preceded her in death in 1986 after nearly forty years of marriage. She was a former employee of Midwest Bag Company in Des Moines, Iowa and a member of the Marcus, Crooked Creek Baptist Church in Pendleton County.

Helen June Carver, 80, of Alexandria, Ky., passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at The Highlands Nursing Home in Ft. Thomas, Ky. She was a homemaker and while residing in Grants Pass Oregon she worked at The Tree of Life Christian Book Store. At the time of her passing she attended the Community Pentecostal Church of Independence, Ky.
Survivors include her sons, Tim Carver, Alexandria, Ky., David Carver, Portland, Oregon, daughters Heide Clark, Grants Pass Oregon, Jeanette Harrell, Somerset, Ky., and eleven grandchildren.
Services will be held on March 14, 2005 at the Hull and Hull Funeral Home in Grants Pass Oregon. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. service.
Interment will take place in the Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass Oregon.

Ann Wimsett, 82, Florida

Ann Earle Wimsett, 82, of Florida, passed away in Florida. She was born in Falmouth, Ky., on September 22, 1922, the daughter of the late Edwin Burrows Earle and Mary Louise Arnold. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles and her sister, Elaine. After graduating from Falmouth High School, she attended Eastern Kentucky State Teachers College and then graduated from the University of Kentucky with an A.B. in Education. The laboratories at Oak Ridge had just been started and Ann had the honor of being chosen to teach the children of the scientists there. During her time in Oak Ridge, she met Charles Wimsett from nearby Rockwood, they were married on March 29, 1945. When her parents retired to Florida, Ann and Charles moved to Delray Beach and then to Miami Springs. They raised their three children there. During that time Ann was a beloved elementary school teacher, whom won numerous teaching awards, and was a member of the honorary society Delta Kappa Gamma. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Melbourne Beach. They lived there until Charles passed away in 1995. Shortly afterward, she moved to Azalea Trace in Pensacola, where she lived until her passing. Ann never met a stranger and was never happier than in fellowship with family or friends. She enjoyed her life in Florida, but she always retained a strong affection for her native town of Falmouth, and the state of Kentucky. A proud moment for her was July 1, 1963, when governor Bert Combs commissioned her as Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include her brother John (Robbie) Earle her children, Sally (Morris) Marx, Chris (Pauline) Wimsett, Mary Sue (Julian) Dalzell, grandchildren, Geoffrey, Laura, David, Lisa and Andrew, and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth.
A memorial service was held on February 1, 2005 in the chapel of Azalea Trace under the direction of Bayview Fisher-Pouchapel funeral home.

Ruby Frances Delaney, 80, of Milford, Ohio, formerly of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Friday, March 11, 2005 at the Bethesda North Hospital, Montgomery, Ohio. Born on June 29, 1924 in Pendleton County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late William and Sallie English Wellman. She married Leslie Delaney on July 2, 1943 and her dear husband survives her passing. She was a homemaker, a current member of the Reading Baprist Church, Rading, Ohio, and a former member of the Falmouth Baptist Church, Falmouth, Ky.
In addition to her husband of 61 years, Leslie Delaney, she leaves one daughter, Joan Leslie Woodruff, Milford, Ohio, two sons, Gary Lee Delaney, Warren, Rhode Island, Robin Delaney, Florence, Ky., six grandchildren, Linda Rodrigues, Torie South, Gary Lee Delaney, II, Tara Aster, Shawn Rockey, and Keith Rockey, six great-grandchildren, and one sister Judy Bell, Falmouth, Ky.

L. Winston Sorrell, 78, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Winston was born in Pendleton County Kentucky on May 31, 1926, the son of the late James O. and Belva Lovelace Sorrell. He was a member of the Falmouth Baptist Church and he also worked at the Deluxe Dry Cleaners in Falmouth, Ky., for 41 years and owned it for 17 years. He married Ella Mae Bonar Sorrell on February 6, 1949 and she survives his passing. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry, Calvin, Duane, Floyd and Preston Lloyd Sorrell, sister, Mabel Easton and grandson, Gary Thomas Sorrell.
In addition to his wife he leaves his sons, Steve Sorrell, Foster, Ky., Bruce Sorrell, Falmouth, Ky., daughter, Amy Norton, Falmouth, Ky., sisters, Ada Moore, and Hattie Daugherty both of Falmouth, Ky., eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.

Lytle Yelton Hou-ston, 85, of Foster, Ky., passed away on Friday, March 11, 2005 at the St. Luke Hospital East Hospice in Ft. Thomas, Ky. Born on May 3, 1919, he was the son of the late Belva Cline and Benjamin Houston. He was a farmer, a lifelong member and past chairman of the board of Pleasant Hill Christian Church, a veteran of the Army during World War II, a member of Hardin-Browning Post #109, and past chairman of the Mt. Auburn Cemetery Board. He married Ethel Laverne Trankler on October 11, 1941, and his wife preceded him in death on April 21, 1989. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Christine Brooks, and Aileene Moreland and brother, Donald Houston.
He is survived by four daughters, Betty (David) Shewalter, Palm Harbor, Fla., Anna Mary (Randy) Marshall, Butler, Ky., Amy (Keith) Plummer, Peach Grove, Ky., Janice (Mike) Dane, Alexandria, Ky., one sister, Doris Browning, Erlanger, Ky., eight grandchildren, Chris Browning, Edie Browning Chow, Lisa Shewalter Gromaski, Wendi Shewalter, Jeffrey Marshall, Joshua Plummer, Matthew Plummer, Michelle Plummer, four great-grandchildren, Braden and Sibelle Chow, and Kassidy and Hope Gromaski.
Services were held on Sunday, March 13, 2005 at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth with Rev. Don Mays officiating.
Interment took place in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Pendle-ton County, Ky., with full military honors by Hardin-Browning Post #109.

Stella Maude McMillian Wallace, 90 of Knoxville, Ky., quietly passed away in her sleep on March 10, 2005 at Lakeside Heights Nursing Home, High-land Heights, Ky. Stella was born on October 26, 1914 at Pleasant Ridge, Pendleton Co-unty, Ky. She was the youngest and last surviving member of 8 children born to Walter Cassius (Cash) McMillian and Phoebia Anna Brittenham McMillian. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Wallace in 1989, and her brothers and sisters, Flossie, Grover, Daisy, Chesley, George, Claude, and Anna Mae.
She was the eldest member of Knoxville Baptist Church, Knoxville, Ky, where she remained a very faithful and devoted member until her death. For the last year or two, she was unable to attend services, but she kept up and knew how many
people attended church and Sunday school every Sunday. She truly loved her church and the members truly loved her. They showed that by all the carrying loving things they did for her. For which the Family re-mains eternally grateful.
Survivors include one nephew, Harold Glenn McMillian, Blan-chester, Ohio. three nieces, Della Rose Slageter, Cincinnati,
Ohio., Ruth Carolyn Black, Pleasant Ridge, Ky., Minnie Ann Howard, Fla.Additional survivors include many grandnieces and nephews.

Barbara Elizabeth Kelly, 50, of Butler, Ky., passed away on Monday, March 7, 2005 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Barbara was born in Covington, Ky., on February 1, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Bernard and Shirley Kelleker Gamm. A member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, she worked at the Falmouth Dairy Queen and Wyatts Grocery in Falmouth, Ky., she also enjoyed crafting and making candles. She married Bill Kelly on March 11, 1973 and he survives her passing.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Susan Wells, Falmouth, Ky., brothers, Rev. Dave Gamm, Union, Ky., Thomas Gamm, Ross, Ohio, sisters, Theresa Gamm and Christine Fessenden both of Cincinnati, Ohio, four grandchildren, Noah, Justin, Moriah and Brittany, and several nieces and nephews.

Betty Louise Osborne Adkins, 72, of Butler, Ky., passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at her home. Betty was born in Rose Hill, Virginia on august 4, 1932, the daughter of the late Harley and Myrtle Seals Osborne. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She married Frank H. Adkins in 1951 and he survives her passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband William in 1975, a son David and brothers, Herbert and Henry Bush.

James O. Work, 74, of Falmouth, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2005, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood, Ky. Born on February 21, 1931 in Pendleton County, Ky., he was the son of the late William Napoleon and Sadie Lorene Hewitt Work. He married Georgia King Work in 1953 and his dear wife survives his passing. He was a retired employee of Grede Permacast in Cynthiana, Ky., and a member of the Gardnersville Baptist Church, Pendleton County. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1950-1953 and was stationed in Germany.
In addition to his wife, Georgia King Work, he leaves his sons, James William Work, Steven Joe Work, George Adam Work, and Kenneth Wade Work, all of Falmouth, Ky., and Paul Wayne Work of Bethel, Ohio, eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one brother, Ezra Lee Work of Williams-town, Ky.

She was a former head of maintenance for Dr. J.C. Crowley’s Clinic in Grants Lick.

She was an employee with Wal-Mart of Dry Ridge, Ky., and a member of the Blanket Creek Baptist Church, Pend-leton County. She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Mains on March 6, 2004, her sister, Bonnie Jo Nichols on April 19, 1988, and her brother Billy Gilbert Mains on March 19, 2004.

Alta Aulick, 96, Cynthiana

Alta Harper Aulick, 96, of Cynthiana, passed away on March 13, 2005, at the Grand Haven Nursing Home in Cynthiana. Born on May 25, 1908, in Pendleton County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Sid and Minnie Crawford Harper. She married Oral H. Aulick and her dear husband preceded her in death on March 19, 1994, after 69 years of marriage. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oakland Christian Church, Pendleton, County. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Harper, and her great grandson, Landon Ashton Aulick.
Survivors include her son, Larry (Kathy) Aulick, Cynthi-ana, four grandsons and their families: Rodney (Dawn) Aulick and Christian and Reagan, Louisville, Ky., Jeffrey (Lisa) Aulick and Brianna, Chandler and Delanie, Falmouth, Ky., Bradley (Lesley) Aulick, Louisville, Ky., and Timothy (Dawayna) Aulick and Kylee, Ashlyn, and Kennedy, Nicholasville, Ky.
Services were held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Bro. John Byard officiating. The Oakland Christian Church Choir presented the music accompanied by Kaye C. Johnting. Her four loving grandsons, Rodney, Jeffrey, Bradley, and Timothy Aulick carried her casket.
Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Oakland Christian Church, 5161 Milford Road, Falmouth, KY 41040.

 

Dorothy Thompson, 86, Owenton

Dorothy Thompson, 86, of Owenton, Ky., formerly of Butler, Ky., passed away on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Owenton Manor Nursing Home. Born in Mason County, Ky., on July 1, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John and Nora Sims Kirk. A member of the Community Pentecostal Church in Independence, Ky., she was also a retired cook at the Butler Resthome. She married Dora Lee Thompson and he passed away on January 1, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her son John Thompson.
Survivors include her daughters, Mamie Tapp, Covington, Ky., and Phyllis King, Kenton, Ky., fifteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Monday, March 21, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.
Interment took place in the Beasley Cemetery, Mason County, Kentucky.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society 6612 Dixie Hwy. Florence, KY 41042.

 

Bonnie Kostelac, 77, Verona

Bonnie Morris Kostelac, 77, of Verona, Ky., formerly of Pendleton County, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2005, at the Owen County Hospital, Owenton, Ky. Born on Nov-ember 8, 1927 in Campbell County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Willis “Bud” and Ruby Kenney Morris. She married Steve Kostelac and her husband preceded her in death. For many years she was a waitress in Florida.
Survivors include, daughter, Cheryl Estep, Keavy, Ky., son Gregg Huffman, Sparta, Ky., three grandchildren, David Lanham, Peggy Sue Lanham and Kimberly Nicole Hoffman, six great-grandchildren, four sisters, Patsy Graham, Ft. Thomas, Ky., Peggy Sauer, Ft. Thomas, Ky., Barbara Coppage, Ft. Wright, Ky., and Helen Spahr, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Graveside services were held on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Pendle-ton County with Bro. Ronnie Angell officiating.
Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, served the family.

 

Bill Newton, 72, Falmouth

Bill Newton, 72, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth South Medical Center. Bill was born in Hazard, Ky., on August 20, 1932, the son of the late Wilburn and Mary Elizabeth Newton, he was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Scott, Falmouth, Ky., sons, Billy Ray Newton, Campton, Ky., Dale Newton, Owenton, Ky., daughters, Regina Rosell, Worthville, Ky., Rhonda Howell, Carrolton, Ky, brothers, Johnny Lee Newton, and Harvey Newton both of Newport, Ky., sister, Callie Fry, Plainsville, Ind., thirty grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.
Interment took place in the Morgan Cemetery.

 

Juanita McClanahan, 83, Butler

Juanita Ruth McClanahan, 83, Butler, Ky., passed away on Monday March 21, 2005 at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler, Ky. Born in Butler on July 28, 1921, the daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Anderson Turner. She was a homemaker, a member of the Butler Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband George McClanahan.
Survivors include her sons, Larry and Buck McClanahan both of Falmouth, Ky., two grandchildren, Shawn Renee McClanahan and Tifany McClanahan.
Visitation will start at 11 a.m until time of service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky.
Interment will take place in the Butler Cemetery.
Memorial contributions if desired, are suggested to the Butler Christian Church.

 

Mary McNay, 90, Richmond

Mary Louise Adams McNay, 90, of Richmond, Ky., formerly of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at the Richmond Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Rich-mond, Ky. Born on January 24, 1915, the daughter of the late Carl Bernard Adams and Susannah Houston Adams. She was a homemaker and a member of the Falmouth Baptist Church, Falmouth, Ky. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Charles Dawson McNay and her brother, Allen Adams.
Survivors include her daughter, Helen (McNay) Fardo, Richmond, Ky., brother C.L. Adams, Erlanger, Ky., and two grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, Ky.
Interment took place in the Williamstown Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Short Creek Baptist Church, Hwy. 22, Falmouth, KY 41040.
