William “Bo” Thomas, 41, of Covington, Ky., passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at St. Luke West Hospital. Bo was born in Covington, Ky., on March 17, 1964, the son of the late William Thomas and Betty Hudson Thomas. He enjoyed racing stock cars at the Florence Speedway in Florence, Ky., he was also a self-employed mechanic. Survivors include his wife Peggy Cain, Covington, Ky., mother, Betty Thomas, Crittenden, Ky., sons, Jeremy Thomas, Covington, Ky., Josh Thomas, Johnsonville, Ky., step-son, Dustin Seigler, Covington, Ky., step-daughter, Sa-mantha Seigler, Covington, Ky., sisters, Theresa Gober, Fal-mouth, Ky., Bonnie Stephens, Crittenden, Ky., brothers, Jerry Thomas, Natural Bridge, Ky., Frank Thomas, Dry Ridge, Ky., several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.- Noon on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Butler, Ky.
Services will be at Noon on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the funeral home, also from 1-2 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Memorial Garden. Interment will take place in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, Ky.

 

Clyde Harrison, 81, Alexandria

Clyde Wilson Harri-son, 81, of Alexandria, Ky., passed away on Monday, November 14, 2005 at The St. Luke East Hospital, Fort Thomas, Ky., he was a water hauler. He was a member of The Grants Lick Baptist Church, Grants Lick, Ky., a member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3205 and a WW II Veteran. Survivors include his wife, Louise Harrison, daughters, Audrey Rekers and Betty Warner, both of Alexandria, Ky., brother, Roy Harrison, Alex-andria, Ky., sisters, Dorothy Darlington, Cold Spring, Ky., Thelma Miller, Alexandria, Ky., five nieces and eight nephews.
Services were held on Friday, November 18, 2005 at The Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky.
Interment took place in The Oakland Cemetery, Grants Lick, Ky.

 

Bud Alex Deaton, 61, California

Bud Alex Deaton, 61, of California, Ky., passed away on Monday, November 14, 2005 at The St. Luke East Hospital, Fort Thomas, Ky. He was a retired tow motor operator for The Queen City Dinette, Florence, Ky. He was preceded in death by his son David Deaton in 2000. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Deaton, brothers, Bill Deaton, Melbourne, Ky., Lee Deaton, Peach Grove, Ky., Estill Deaton, Old Mexico, sisters, Betty Reynolds, Florence, Ky., Anna Faye Stamper, Ryland Heights, Ky., Phyllis Goetz, Erlanger, Ky. He was the owner-operator of Mike’s Affordable Tree Service, Alexandria, Ky., a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles in Newport, Ky. Gerald “Jerry” Reed, 62, of Demossville, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at St. Elizabeth North Hospice in Covington, Ky. Mr. Reed was a disabled truck driver for Blue Grass Provisions in Covington, Ky., a member of the Grassy Creek Christian Church. He was a devoted UK fan and loved to golf. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Holt. Survivors include his wife, Ramona Blevins Reed, Demossville, Ky., son, Craig Blevins, Florence, Ky., daughters, Carla, Julie and Katie Reed, all of Demossville, Ky., and Jena Reed Zimowski, Chicago, Ill., brother, John “Jack” Reed, Florence, Ky., sisters, Rose Powell, Ryland Heights, Ky., Mary Laycock, Gulf Stream, Fla., Garnet Brown Edwards, Cincinnati, Ohio, Patricia Riley and Norma Martin both of Erlanger, Ky., Carol McNamara and Sandra Tierney both of Florence, Ky., six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services were held on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the Allison & Rose Funeral Home, Inc., Taylor Mill, Ky. Interment took place in the Independence Cemetery.

Rose Flynn Kelly, 82, Crittenden

Rose Flynn Kelly, 82, Crittenden, Ky., passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Hospice, Covington, Ky. She was born on November 21, 1923 in Dry Ridge, Ky., the daughter of the late Walter Scott Flynn and Mary “Minnie” McGee Flynn, she was a homemaker, graduated from Dry Ridge High School and was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church, Walton, Ky., and a member of the Altar Society of All Saints Catholic Church, Walton, Ky. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Walter Scott Flynn, Henry Joseph Flynn, James Richard Flynn, and George William Flynn and one sister, Mary Bernadette Kelly. Survivors include her husband, Bob Kelly, Crittenden, Ky., daughters, Peggy Bain, Florence, Ky., Barbara Spillman, Crittenden, Ky., Kathy Coyle, Verona, Ky., Judy Foltz, Dry Ridge, Ky., and ten grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at All Saints Catholic Church in Walton, Ky., under the direction of Msgr. John Schulte. Interment will take place in the St. Johns Cemetery, Demossville, Ky.

Marshall Underwood, 83, Newport

Marshall Under-wood, 83, of Newport, Ky., passed away on Monday, November 21, 2005 at The St. Luke East Hospital, Fort Thomas, Ky. He was a self employed painting contractor. A WWII Army Veteran, fought in the Battle of the Bulge, was decorated three times, once by Eisenhower. He was a member of The American Legion Post #11, Newport, Ky.
Survivors include his wife, Letty Underwood, daughter, Stephanie Lynn Barnes, Beaver Falls, Penn., son, Anthony David Underwood, Newport, Ky., six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were held on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at The Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky.

 

Doris McDaniel, 87, Dayton

Doris McDaniel, 87, of Dayton, Ky., passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at The St. Luke East Hospital, Fort Thomas, Ky., she was a homemaker, the wife of the late James McDaniel who passed away in 1969. She was a member of The East Dayton Baptist Church, Dayton, Ky., and The Salvation Army, Newport, Ky.
Survivors include her sons, James William McDaniel, California, Ky., Richard McDaniel, Buckeye, Arizona, Danny McDaniel, Covington, Ky., Thomas McDaniel, California, Ky., David McDaniel, California, Ky., Gary McDaniel, Williamstown, Ky., daughters, Carole Davies, Dayton, Ky., Cheryl Parker, California, Ky., sister, Judy Moore, Chicago, Ill., twenty three grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at The East Dayton Baptist Church, Dayton, Ky.
Interment took place in The Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, Ky. The Cooper Funeral Home Grants Lick, Ky., was in charge of the arrangements.

 

Kenneth Ross, 67, Versailles

Kenneth A. Ross, 67, of Versailles, Ky., formerly of Pendleton County and Kenton County, passed away at his home on November 17, 2005. He was a farmer and an Army Veteran. Survivors include his wife, Rosilyn Polan Ross, Versailles, Ky., sons, Brett, Scott and Todd Ross, all of Independence, Ky., daughters, Kelly Ross, Rich-mond, Ky., Becky Ross, Taylor Mill, Ky., Sherri Wren, Covington, Ky., Laurie Ross and Mary Bush, Independence, Ky., and Laiken Ross, Versailles, Ky., brothers, Arnold Ross, Gardnersville, Ky., Jim Ross, Lexington, Ky., sisters, Dolly Mire, Dayton, Ohio, Reita Barnaclo, Montgomery, Ohio, eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held on November 21 at Latonia Christian Church. Interment took place in the Smith Cemetery, Pendleton County with graveside services on November 18.

 

Dale Compton, 51, Dayton

Dale Edward Compton, 51, of Dayton, Ky., passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2005 at the St. Elizabeth South Hospital, Edgewood, Ky. He was a dispatcher for S.T.I. Towing, Walton, Ky. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Compton in 2003. Survivors include his sons, Dale Compton Jr., Newport, Ky., Aaron Compton, Dayton, Ky., daughters, Kelly Lawson, Dayton, Ky., Kimberly Williams, Independence, Ky., sisters, Alberta Soards, Independence, Ky., Maxine Compton, Taylor Mill, Ky., Brenda Smith, Walton, Ky., Tina Compton, Taylor Mill, Ky., Roxie Adams, Dayton, Ky., brothers, Dennis Compton, Florence, Ky., Kenny and Almond Compton both of Erlanger, Ky., and thirteen grandchildren. Elizabeth Herald, 76, of Newport, Ky., passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at the St. Luke East Hospital, Fort Thomas, Ky. She was a homemaker, member of the Senior Citizens of N. Ky., Brighton Street Center, Newport, Ky., Campbell County Fiscal Court, Campbell County Extension Center, New Macedonia Old Regular Baptist Church, Newport, Ky., she also was a Ky. Colonel. She was preceded in death by a daughter Delores Stamper on December 26, 2004. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Patrick Herald, son, Thomas Herald, Florence, Ky., brothers, Sam Herald, Jackson, Ky., Tommy Turner, Miamis-burg, Ohio, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at The Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky.
Interment took place in the Oakland Cemetery, Grants Lick, Ky.

Preston Farrar, 80, Falmouth

Preston H. Farrar, 80, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at his home. Preston was born in Newport, Ky., on May 11, 1925, he was the son of the late Henry Clay and Annie Carmichael Farrar. He was a retired steelworker from Interlake Steel in Newport, Ky., a member of Turner Ridge Baptist Church, a Veteran of the United States Navy and also served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Farrar and seven siblings. Survivors include his son, Warren (Carla) Farrar, Falmouth, Ky., sisters, Dolly O’Neil, Grand Rapids, Michi-gan, Virginia Reising, Highland Heights, Ky., three grandchildren, Dana Farrar, Tara Craig and Scott Farrar, two great-grandchildren, Hannah Craig and Zachary Farrar. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at the Turner Ridge Baptist Church, with visitation from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. before the services under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home. Interment will take place in the Fairoaks Family Cemetery, Pendleton County, under full military honors. Edna Bryant, 85, Falmouth

Edna Mildred Bryant, 85, of Falmouth, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2005, at the Grand Haven Nursing Home in Cynthiana. Born on August 19, 1920 in Vevay, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Gertrude Pike Smith. She married Kirby Bryant on March 27, 1937, and her dear husband preceded her in death on February 13, 1980. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oakland Christian Church, Falmouth, Ky. Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Mains and Judy Hammond, both of Falmouth, Ky., six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Services were held on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky., with Bro. Darrell Breeden officiating. Music was given by Adarin Williams. Casket bearers were, Todd Mains, J.B. Sanders, Ben Baldwin, Bill Baldwin, Roger Hammond and Milton Mains. Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth, Ky. Gordon Jackson, Jr., 70, Newport

Gordon T. Jackson, Jr., 70, of Newport, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at his home. He was an Educator. He touched many lives, never met a stranger, he was a story teller, a humanitarian, always saw the good in people, was passionate in everything he did. One of his facorite sayings was “I want to tell you something. This story may never have happened, but it’s true.” He was also a Zookeeper, Park Ranger, Army medic, he enjoyed collecting things, fishing, hunting, educating children. He was a writer and a poet. He portrayed a mountain man in many local schools and at the Appalacian festival, he also portrayed John Brown at schools and Kings Island, he had a part in Huckelberry Finn Movie, he loved to perform, and was active in Tall Stacks, he was very active in AA. Survivors include his wife, Diane Jackson, daughters, Angela Dill, Newport, Ky., Elizabeth Doud, Newport, Ky., Jessica Strong, Columbus, Ohio, son, Brian Bowling, East Berlin, Pa., and seven grandchildren. Services were held on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, Ky. Interment took place in the Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, Ky. He delivered the Lexington Herald Leader, was retired from maintenance at Sun Manufacturing in Williamstown, Ky. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter. Jeffrey Glenn Turner, 43, Alexandria, Ky., passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas, Ky. He was a Steel salesman. He was preceded in death by his sister Lana McIntosh in 1997. He was preceded in death by a son Randy Philpot on January 22, 2005, a sister Audrey Hampton and brothers, JC Philpot, Louie Philpot, Chuck Philpot, Harry Philpot, Conley Philpot and his parents, Robert and Vestina Philpot. Harold Wright, 83, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Wesley Hall Nursing Home in Cincinnati, Ohio. Harold was born in Pendleton County Ky., on June 5, 1922, he was the son of the late Floyd and Flora Cason Wright. He was Deputy Sheriff of Pendleton County from 1970-1974 then was elected sheriff in 1974-1978, he was retired from the state of Kentucky in the prosecutors office. He was preceded in death by his first wife Gertrude Wright, brothers, Leonard, Randell and Donald Wright and sister, Juanita King.
Survivors include his wife Carolyn Yelton Wright, Falmouth, Ky., sons, Dicky Wright, Falmouth, Ky., Gary Wright, Lexington, Ky., step-daughter, Donna Reis, Falmouth, Ky., brothers, Melvin (Bert) Wright, Falmouth, Ky., Ralph Wright, Falmouth, Ky., J.W. Etnae Jenkins, 89, Falmouth

Etnae Lawson Elliott Jenkins, 89, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at the Harrison County Memorial Hospital. Etnae was born in Harrison County Ky., on October 29, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lucy Lawson. She was a member of the Pendleton County Senior Citizens and a member of the Turner Ridge Baptist Church. She married Roy Jenkins and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ernest Elliott, and daughters, Brenda Brown, Janet Abbott. Survivors include her sons, Charles and Gary Elliott, both of Falmouth, Ky., daughters, Shirley Emmert, Mainville, Ohio, Mary Margaret Stacy, Erlanger, Ky., twenty-five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services were held on Friday, December 16, 2005 at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, Ky. Interment took place in the Riverside Cemetery, Pendleton County. Antonette Redell, 62, Florence

Antonette Inez Redell, 62, of Florence, Ky., passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at her home. Ms. Redell was born in Campbell County on October 12, 1943, the daughter of the late Anton and Elsie Inez Williams Redell. She was a member of the Victorious Life Christian Ministries and Church, Administrator Vice President at Toyota and 20 years at Proctor & Gamble. She was preceded in death by her brother, Darrell Gene Redell.
Survivors include her sons, Eric B. Richards, Florence, Ky., brother, Charles Redell, Butler, Ky., sister, Darlene Gabbard, Butler, Ky. Visitation will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the Tabernacle of God, Grants Lick, Ky. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the Tabernacle of God, Grants Lick, Ky. Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, served the family.

June Kwiatkowski, 75, Arizona

June A. Kwiatkowski, 75, of Arizona, passed away on December 13, 2005, following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Falmouth, Ky., on August 20, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Flora (Cason) Wright and Floyd Wright. She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Elmer L. Field, and her loving husbands, Ken Sagar and Walter Kwiatkowski, brothers, Leonard, Randall, Donald and Harold Wright and sister, Juanita King.
She was a spitfire throughout her life and all the way up to the end, a true Kentucky Bluegrass girl. June was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to play pratical jokes, laugh, and to sing and play her guitar. She loved Tucson and the Sonoran Desert, and although her life and adventurous spirit took her to Ohio, Arizona, Texas, Nevada and California. June ulitmately returned to her beloved desert, unable to part from its beautiful sunsets and inspiring landscape. She was dearly loved and will be missed and remembered for her wit, humor, and strong work ethic. Survivors include her children, Barry Field (Mia), Lakewood, Wash., Barbara Hulings, Tucson, Ariz., Brenda Funk, Sonoma, Calif., and Billy Field, Doyle, Calif., five grandchildren, Regina, Daniel, Benjamin, Brianne, and Alex., brothers, Melvin (Bert) Wright, Falmouth, Ky., Ralph Wright, Falmouth, Ky., J.W. Wright, Falmouth, Ky., Alva Lee Wright, Falmouth, Ky., Larry Wright, Falmouth, Ky., sisters, Thelma Agopian, Paris, France, Betty Ammerman, Falmouth, Ky., Josie Stair, Sandusky, Ohio, e family wishes to thank the staff of The Place at Tanque Verde, Sabino Canyon Rehabilitation, and Cartalina Care Center for their care and support during Jane’s illness.
Services have already been held. The family urges donations to your local Alzheimer’s Assoc.
