Opal J. Sargent, 82, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler.
Born in Pendleton County on December 01, 1926 she was the daughter of the late John W. and Nellie B. Lafollette McMillan.
She was a member of the DeMossville Baptist Church and the Eastern Star for 50 years.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were brothers, Leman McMillan, Elden McMillan and Marion McMillan and sisters, Ruby Elliott, Alma Hurst, Lucy Crouch and Clarice Auchter.
Surviving are son, Tom Sargent of Butler; daughter, Phyllis Cummins of Burlington; grandchild, Kevin Sargent; and great-grandchildren, Justin, Kayla and Bryce.
Services were held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the Peoples Funeral Home in Butler.
Interment took place at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Falmouth.
Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Moriah Cemetery Fund.
