Willavene Fern Yelton, Retired Campbell County School Teacher

Willavene Fern Yelton, 85, of Grants Lick and formerly of Akron, Ohio died Friday at River Valley Nursing Home in Butler.

She was a retired Campbell County school system teacher and a member of the board of education and of the Campbell County Education Association. She also was a member of Mt. Moriah Christian Church and of the Pendleton Senior Citizens.

Her husband, Edwin Yelton, and sister, Fairy Clark, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Mark Aaron Yelton of Newport; a daughter, Cheryl Sue Biddle of Alexandria; five grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Flour Creek Christian Church in Butler. Visitation will begin there at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in Butler Cemetery in Butler.

Memorials are suggested to the donor's charity of choice.

Peoples Funeral Home in Butler is handling arrangements.
