Joseph and Lydia Fleming Cummins Family Reunion
June 19 - 21, 2009 at Effingham, IL


This couple were married in Bourbon Co. KY in 1793 and lived at Antioch 
Mills, Harrison Co. KY.  They had 13 children and 140 grandchildren.   Allison,
Anderson, Asbury, Blades, Catt, Chapman, Clark, Crafford, Cummings,  Davis,
Duvall, Elliott, Gerhardt, Gromer, Grose, Haley, Hall, Harrison  Henderson,
Herzog, Holmes, Huckaby, Huddlestun, Huffman, Hunt, Huston, Ingle,  Johnson, Kelley,
Lang, Lenox, Lincoln, McCoullough, McDaniel, McKimmey, Moore,  Myers,
Paddock, Parr, Patton, Petty, Price, Raines, Rankin, Recop, Redd, Rhodes,  Rich,
Rowe, Sandy, Shell, Simpson, Smith, Sper, Sprague, Steiler, Strouse,  Stubbs,
Stump, Swickard, Thompson, Tumelson, Turner, Uselman, Whitaker,  Whitehurst, and

all are invited to attend.


 

The Joseph and Lydia Fleming Cummins Reunion will be held on Effingham, IL on 19-21 June 2009.  Effingham  Comfort Suites Inn, 1310 W.  Fayette Dr., Effingham, IL   $70.00 plus tax including breakfast, popcorn and cookies all day.  Call 217-342-3151 for reservation.  Indicate you are with the Cummins Reunion when you call.  May be canceled up to  24 hours before arrival to avoid charges. Make reservations as soon as possible since it is a busy time for the motels.  
 

The fee for this reunion is only $5 per person for incidentals and Pizza on Saturday night.  Everyone one attending is asked to bring a $3 to $5 gift in plain brown paper bag to be used in the drawing.

We plan to go for a sandwich lunch in Moonshine, IL east of Effingham on Friday about 11:30 and will probably go as a group for supper at a restaurant in Effingham on Friday night.

Cummins Reunion Agenda
               
19 June 2009, Friday
11:30        Burger Lunch at Moonshine Store.  A wide spot in the road in the SW corner of Clark County,  Moonshine is the in spot for the elite to meet. You'll need a compass, plat map and a little luck to find it, but she's worth the trip....and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than going to St Barth's for a cheeseburger in paradise.   

6 p.m.     Group Dinner at a restaurant in Effingham selected this afternoon by those that have arrived.
 
20 June 2009, Saturday

9 a.m.       Meeting room in Comfort Inn Suites

        Registration
       
Meeting each other, determine who is descended from whom, exchanging  information, family stories and updates.  Etc., Etc.

        Drawing for small door prizes for the gifts that everyone brings. 
   
1 p.m.        Adjourn to restaurant next door “Neimergs” (Menu order w/salad bar or salad bar only)

        Doors of the restaurant will be closed and locked at 1:30 p.m.

2:30 p.m.    More time to visit and exchange information at the room in the Comfort Inn or Free time for shopping, sightseeing or such.

21 June 2009, Sunday

9:30 a.m.      Church service at the Cummins Church near Rose Hill, IL. 

10:30 a.m.    Visit the Hunt–Cummins Cemetery right behind the church or return to Effingham for more visiting at the Comfort Inn Suites. For those who do not desire more visiting then have a nice trip home and THANKS  FOR COMING.  We have your address from the registration and will keep in touch.

Direction to Cummins Church
East on US 40 or I-70 east to the Greenup exit turning south on  IL 130, continue to Rose Hill Road (County Road 1750N) and turn left.  Continue on County Road 1750N to County Road 1575E and turn right.  The church and cemetery is tucked in a wooded area on the left.
