Guidelines for Submitting Files
to the Pulaski Co KYGenWeb Site
  1. Files must be in plain text (.txt) format
    If you cannot send attachments, paste the text (or type it) into an email.
    "But I don't know how to create a text file!"
  2. Photographs must be in (.jpg) format
    Please contact me BEFORE sending multiple photos. They tend to fill my mailbox quickly & I need to be home in order to download them as they come in. Thanks!
  3. Observe Copyright Law
    You must either be the copyright holder, have written permission from the copyright holder, or your material is unquestionably from public domain documents.
  4. Respect The Privacy Of Others
    No material on living individuals will be accepted.

How To Create A Text File
Method #1:
  1. Open your file.
  2. From the "File" drop-down menu, select "Save As"
    (this opens the "Save As" dialog box)
  3. At the bottom of the dialog box, you will see "Save as type:"
  4. Choose: "Plain Text (.txt)"
  5. Click on the "Save" button & you've just created a plain text file!
Method #2 (requires you to press 2 keys simultaneously):
  1. Open your file.
  2. Press Ctrl+S (this opens the "Save As" dialog box)
  3. Follow steps 3-5, above
Method #3 (requires you to press 2 keys simultaneously):
AKA, How to Copy & Paste
  1. Open your document
  2. Press Ctrl+A (this highlights all of the text)
  3. Press Ctrl+C (this copies the text)
  4. Place your cursor within the body of an email
  5. Press Ctrl+V (this "pastes" the copied text into the email)

Alternatively, you can use the drop-down "Edit" menu to copy & paste.
