Ruth Cameron

Ruth Cameron, 81, of Mt. Vernon, died Monday, July 23, 2001 at Rockcastle Hospital. She was born November 13, 1919 in Rockcastle County, the daughter of William F. and Mary Elizabeth Clark Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of the Maple Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors are two sons, Preston Cameron, Jr., of Mt. Vernon and Denford Cameron and his wife, Jean of Spencer, Indiana; three daughters, Cynthia Owens and husband, Hubert of Brodhead, Bernice Fish and husband, Earl of Mt. Vernon and Lillie Cameron of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Jack Smith of Connersville, Indiana and two sisters, Maxie Atwood of Milton, Indiana and Queenie Wooten of Cambridge City, Indiana; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Cameron, Sr., and two sons, Delbert Cameron and Mosey Cameron.

Services will be Thurs., July 26th at 2:00 PM at Dowell & Martin Funeral Home Chapel (www.dowellmartin.com) with Bros. Billy Joe Cameron and Kieth Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery.
