Mrs. Laura Demia Cook, age 79 of West Main St. in Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday, June 23 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset. She was born in Rockcastle County on July 5, 1924 the daughter of Claybourne and Margaret Jane Bond Allen. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon.

She is survived by three sons, Dale Cook of Waco, Larry Cook (Sue) of Brodhead, and Stanley Cook (Tonya) of Mt. Vernon; and one daughter, Edna Turner of Lebanon, VA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Cook.
