Mr. Bentley Martin, Sr. age 57, of 205 Davis St. Mt. Vernon died Wednesday December 3, 2003 at his home after a long illness. He was born on October 8, 1946 in Rockcastle County the son of the late Andy and Tempie Jane Nicely Martin. He was a retired crane operator for L&N railroad, enjoyed car collecting, car shows, was a member of the

Northside Baptist Church, and attended the Chestnut Ridge Church of Christ.

Survivors are: two sons; Bentley Martin, Jr. and wife Jaime of Rt.#3 Brodhead, and David Martin, and wife Charolette of London, Ky.. Three daughters; Mrs. Sheila Owens, and husband Dana, Mrs. Shirley Scaff, and husband John, and Mrs. Jeanette Wheat, and husband Tim all of Mt. Vernon. One sister; Mrs. Bea Polson of Somerset. Seven grandchildren; Zachary Stephens, Kyle Owens, Brittany Scaff, Jonathan Scaff, Marcus Scaff, William Wheat, and Kimberley Wheat. He was preceded in death by: one brother; Freddie Martin, and by; three half-brothers, and three half-sisters.
