Earl L. McQueen

Earl L. McQueen, age 82, of Fairfield, died on Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Mercy Fairfield Hospital. Born in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, on May 24, 1921, he was the son of Lee and Eliza (Nantz) McQueen. On October 11, 1941, in Hamilton, Ohio, Earl married Jane Hatton. Jane preceded him in death on November 8, 1994. In Liberty, Indiana, on September 26, 1997, Earl married Luzella (Lou) Cornwell. He was a machinist for Western States Machine Company retiring in 1984. Mr. McQueen was a member of the Washington Lodge No. 17 F&AM, Amvets, VFW, the Senior Citizens Center, and he was an U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII.

Mr. McQueen is survived by his wife, Luzella (Lou) of Fairfield; three children, Faye Rose and husband Albert of Hamilton, Ohio, Betty Kay Lane and husband Stephen of Mt. Carmel, Ohio, and Ray McQueen of Hamilton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Chad Rose, Angela Thomas, Steve and Shannon McQueen; three great grandchildren, Ryan and Courtney Rose and Dalton Thomas; four step-children, Carol Rose and husband Dan of Hamilton, Ronnie Davis and wife Shirley of Hamilton, Jerry Davis and wife Janet of Aurora, Indiana, Tammy Schultheiss and husband Jeff of Hamilton; fifteen step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; half-sister, Willadeen Baugh of Rockledge, Florida; and half-brother, Eldon McQueen of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Earl was also preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held at The Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton, on Monday, June 16, 2003, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Edwin R. Beck officiating.
