Mr. James Thomas "J. T." Stephens, age 68 of Liberty Dr. in Mt. Vernon, died Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Rockcastle Hospital. He was born in Rockcastle County on Apr. 18 the son of James Richard and Bessie Mae Marler Stephens. He was a retired employee of Fox Paper.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene Stallsworth Stephens; a son, Tommy Dale Stephens (Linda) of Cincinnati, OH; two daughters, Pamela Jo Lovins (Wayne) and Angela Marie Coriell, both of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Dorothy Robbins, Irene Whitaker, and Joyce Gruber, all of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, Richard James Stephens, Melissa Ann Stephens, and Amber Nicole Lovins, all of Cincinnati, OH, and Casey Lynn Coriell and Shane Michael Coriell, both of Mt. Vernon; and two great grandchildren, Abigail Elizabeth Stephens and Anthony Joseph Christman, both of Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherman Stephens and Lasvel Stephens; one sister, Lorene Whitaker; and one granddaughter, Amy Lynn Stephens.
