the line on lot No. 1 as laid down in Will Book No. 4 in the

stake then N 30 W 69 poles to a stake in Will's line, then with
the same S 45 W 16 7/10 poles then S 24 3/4 E 14 7/10 poles then

To have and to hold the said tracts or parcels of land with all and
singular the appertences thereto belong to him the said James
Moore and his heirs forever.  And the said Benjamin Chisham and
Betsy his wife for themselves their heirs do so covenant and agree
to and with the said Moore and his heirs so do covenant and agree 
to That the aforesaid tracts or parcels of land...and clear of all
dower, executious? mortages or emcumberances whatsoever that they
will forever warrant and define the same against the claim or

one of the daughters of Robin Moore dc'd and whereas the said Elijah
Lucas and Margaret his wife sold all their right title and interest
in said tract of land to Stephen Lucas for the consideration of
$600 heretofore paid but the conveyance for the same has not been
completed.Now this indenture witnessed by the said Thomas Moore and
E. Lucas and Margaret his wife to convey to Stephen Lucas the right
to said tract of land on the Frankfort Road on North Elkhorn
adjoining lands of John Suggett.

the said James L. Moore the following property to wit horses, beds and
furniture...tables, 3 looking Gluped?? and my kitchen furniture of every kind
and a half Dozen Ulendsot?? and all my cupboards consisting of china,
teacups, saucers, coffee and tea kettles.  To have and to hold the said
property herein mentioned to him the said James L. Moore and his heirs
forever.  This conveyance is subject to their condition.  Whereas the said
James Hensley is justly indebted to the said Moore in the sum of Two hundred

poles and 24 poles to a stake thence South 6 1/2 East 66 poles to a stake,
and then North Edge of the beginning, thece a road , thence along  edge of
said Road in the North Side, South 72, West 35 poles to stake comes to Sugar
Ridge Meeting House ground.  Thence west a line of the North 11..., west 11
poles to a stake , thence South another line of said lot.  West 12 1/2 poles,
then 76 poles to the beginning.  All the foregoing land as sold by Barkley to
Clarkson by him, sold to Anderson and by said Reuben Anderson to said Hugh

             Sheely party of the second part all the interest right title claim

            Tarlton of different sounties and states and heirs of

            At the September term 1834 it was decreed that a sale
            of the tract of land be made at public auction to the
            highest bidder. 1/3 in hand and balance in 1 and 2
            equal annual payments and appointed Charles C. Moore as
            commissioner.

            Dixie note: I gather that this was to finalize the sell
            after all the payments were made. The fun thing is
            the set of signatures. Where all the Moores came in I
            don't know. I'll try to reproduce the signature
            placement as closely as possible. The counties in
            parenthesis are from all the county clerks from those
            counties verifying the signatures. All this verification
            was after the Indenture and signatures.

            and back to the beginning. 133 acres, 2 roads and ?

            For consideration of $1. Thomas Y. Moore conveys to
            George E. Moore the following personal property:
            1 negro girl Matilda 8 years old, 1 negro boy Joseph
            4 years old, 2 feather beds bedsteads and furniture
            for same complete.
            Subject to conditions: Thomas Y. Moore is indebted to
            George E. Moore for $500 George advanced to Stephen
            Lucas at the request of Thomas Y. Moore. Thomas Y.
            Moore to either pay the above amount or deliver over
            the above personal property.

            Thomas Y. Moore pays $1. John F. Cantrell to received
            the following personal property: One negro girl named
            Milly 6 ot 7 years old, one yoke of ? and cart, two
            mares one a gray and the other a roan, 10 head of hogs,
            1 sideboard, 1 bed bedstead and furniture. About 40
            acres of corn now growing. All the kitchen furniture
            pots oven tea kettle etc etc.
            Subject to following condition: Thomas Y. Moore is
            indebted to J.F. Cantrell for $800 for stock Thomas
            executed to Cantrell last fall or winter. Thomas must
            pay $800 plus interest or Cantrell gets the above
            personal property.

2 Apr 1839  Between George E. Moore party of the 1st part. Thomas C.
pg 172      Graves, William Johnson and Ezra N. Offutt administrator
            of Joseph Lemon deceased as parties of the 2nd part.
            Party of the 1st part in consideration for $1 shall
            convey to parties of the 2nd part a tract of land lying
            and being in Scott Co containing 130 acres being the
            property the party of the 1st part resides ann all
            apperterances. Also 4 head horses, 7 head of cattle, 20
            head of hogs, 40 head of sheep, crops of corn, wheat,
            rye and everything else growing or shall grow on the
            property.
            Subject to this condition: William G. Haun, Sandford
            Haun and George E. Moore have heretofore executed to
            Thomas Graves a note for the payment of $2320 the 1st
            day of March last and whereas George E. Moore, Sandford
            Haun, William G. Haun, Joseph Cooper, Henry Haun, George
            Winter, Edward Kelly and M.N. Thomson executed to
            William Johnson a note for payment of $8300 - endorsed
            by William Johnson to Thomas Shelby and due Apr 1 1839.
            All this a result of a suit brought by Ezra N. Offutt
            as administrator of Joseph J. Lemon against Parker H.
            Hutchison, George E. Moore and William Long. George
            needs to pay notes and the remainder due to remain as
            a mortgage.. otherwise he loses all the above.

6 Feb 1839  Samuel Moore and Mary Jane his wife of Woodford Co as

            the 2nd part.
            Samuel and Mary Jane in consideration for $92 convey to
            said Hamilton all their interest and claim to the
            dower land alotted to Jane Davis now Jane Burke out of
            the estate of her former husband George Davis deceased
            being an undivided 4th of 20 acres.

8 Jun 1839  Thomas Y. Moore mortgaged to Henry Haun his growing
pg 242      crops of 6 acres of wheat. Haun to stand as security
            of note for $90 due on 8 Feb 1839 and payable to
            Edward Johnson as result of suit. If Thomas pays the
            note the above sale to be void.

10 Sep 1839 Samuel Moore and Mary W. his wife of the county of
pg 352      Scott as one part. Richard J. Davis as the other part.
            Parties of the 1st part for $200 conveys to Richard J.
            Davis their right title and interest which they have
            as one of the heirs of John Davis deceased. A tract or
            parcel of land of 85 acres. Interest being 1/9th part
            of said land undivided.

24 Nov 1840 Indenture between John HERNDON & Sidney L. HERNDON his

            For $50 per acre HERNDEN conveys to MOORE a tract
            together with appertenances, except one lot. Known as
            Wards Graves yard. Lying on waters of Lands run.

27 Apr 1841  Mortgage from William COOPER to John A. HALL for
             payment of horse acknowledged.

7 Aug 1841  James S. MOORE made an oath that his removal to KY
pg 455      was with intention of becoming a citizen thereof. That
            he brought with him no slave or slaves with intention
            of selling them. Also he did not know of the
            requisition of the act of 1833 to the law prohibiting
            the importation of slaves into KY until he had been
            here 2 years or more.

            a stone & buckeye thus S 79 1/2 E 40.4 poles to a
            stone corner to William MOORE than with his line S 11W
            53.8 poles to a stake in Lanes Run. Then S 28 W 12

            66 poles to the beginning containing 16 acres, one
            road & 20 poles and being lot No 1 of the tract of the

4 Mar 1844  Whereas Westly Moore of Scott County Kentucky heretofore conveyed
            by deed of Trust to William Moore of said county a certain tract of
            land hereafter more particularly encumbered for the payment of
            certain debts which land was encumbered with the life Estate of
            James Moore _______ . And Whereas by a decree of the Scott Circuit
            Court rendered in the Case of said William agt said Westley at its
            March term 1843 the said land was decreed to be sold at public
            auction to ghe highest bidder and the said William was appointed
            a Commissioner of said Court to carry said decree into effect and
            make said sale and Whereas the said William, commissioner as
            aforesaid after having advertized therein the time place and terms
            of said sale agreeably to said decree offered on the 6th of April
            1843 on the premises at public auction to the highest bidder. The
            said tract of land subject to the life estate aforesaid and subject
            as said commissioner said to any claim which the wife of said
            James and the wife of said Westley might have for dower. Therein
            should either be ________ thereto by law. Whereas William B. Risk
            of said county became a bidder. Therefore and bit the sum of
            $1553.31 which being the highest and best one. Therefore the _______
            was knocked off to him at that bid and the said William B. Risk
            transformed the same to James Meese of said County of and in
            consideration of said transfer and sale and the said Risk having
            complied with the terms of said sale by giving bond with searenty?
            payable with interest six months after sale. The said court at
            its September term 1843 orderer that said with William Moore
            commissioner as aforesaaid collect the said money and that he also
            whenever said purchase money should be paid convey said land by deed
            to said James S. Meese and the said purchase money having been paid
            by Risk to said William Moore and by said Meese to said Risk. Now
            therefore this Indenture made and entered into this 9th day of
            October 1843 between the said William Moore commissioner as
            aforesaid of the county and state aforesaid of the 1st part and the
            said James S. Meese of same county and state of the second part.
            Witnesseth that the said William Moore commissioner in
            consideration of the premises and in consideration of the payment of
            the purchase money aforesaid with interest from the date of said
            bond doth hereby bargain sell aline and convey to the said
            James S. Meese a certain tract of land lying in said County on
            Lanes Run and bounded as follows, towit: Beginning at a small
            stone nearby a small buckeye in a line of the heirs of Hugh Moore
            dec'd and corner to Crawford Moore. Then N 88 1/2 W 150.95 poles to a
            stone on the East side of the Muddy Ford road. Then north the same
            S 1.03 W. ____ poles to a stone on the north side of the Dry Run
            road. Then north the same East 152.45 poles to a stone on the
            north side of said road and in a line of the Heirs of Hugh Moore
            dec'd. Then north the same North 105.05 poles to the Beginning.
            Containing by survey one hundred and one acres and thirty poles.
            To have and to hold the said tract of land together with all
            and the appertenances thereunto belonging subject to the
            life estate of said James Moore to ______ the said James S. Moore
            and his heirs and assignees forever. And the said William Moore
            commissioner as aforesaid doth and ______ forever warrant and defend
            the title to said land subject to said life estate against all
            claims whatever except the claims for dower above mentioned so
            far as he has power and authority to do so as commissioner
            aforesaid. But is not to be individually responsible in any way to
            him the said Meese and his heirs forever. In testimony whereof the
            said William Moore has hetherto set his hand and seal the date above.

            Whereas James Moore of Scott County Kentucky conveyed by deed
            of Trust to William Moore of said county his life estate in
            the tract of land herein after disencumbered for the payment
            of certain debts in said deed of trust mentioned and whereas at
            the March term 1843 of the Scott Circuit Court in a suit
            in Chancery brought in said Court by said William against said
            James a claim was rendered by said Court directing said life estate
            of said James in said land to be sold at public augtion to the
            highest bidder on six months credit and said William was by said
            decree into affect and Whereas the said William commissioner as
            aforesaid after having adventised the time place and terms of
            said ______ agreeably to said decree did on the 5th day of April
            1843 agreeably to said decree offer at public sale to the
            highest bidder the life estate of said James in said land on
            a credit of six months and James S. Meese of said County bid
            therefore the sum of $1019.98 dollars which being the highest and
            best bid therefore the said Meese became thereby the purchaser
            thereof the same being knocked off to him and he the said Meese
            executed bond with security therefore payable six months
            after date with interest at the rate of six per centeum
            per annum. And whereas the said William Moore Commissioner
            as aforesaid by another decree of said Court rendered in
            said suit at the September term 1843 thereof was
            directed to collect said purchase money and when collected to
            convey said life estate of said James Moore in said land by deed to
            said Meese and whereas the said Meese has this day fully
            paid to said William commissioner as aforesaid the full
            amount of said purchase money. Therefore this Indenture made
            and entered into this 9th day of October 1843 between the
            said William Moore commissioner of the Scott Circuit Court
            as aforesaid of the county of Scott and state of Kentucky of the
            first part and the said James S. Meese of same County and state of the
            second part. Witnesseth that the said William Moore commissioner
            as aforesaid in consideration of the premises and in
            consideration of the sum of $1019.88 to him in hand paid ____
            receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged doth bargain sell alien and
            convey to the said James S. Meese a certain tract or parcel of land
            lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters
            of Lanes Run and bounded as follow, to wit:
            Beginning at a small stone near a small buckeye in a line of the
            Heirs of Hugh Moore dec'd. Thence N 887 W 150.95 poles to a stone
            on the East side of the Muddy ford road. Thence north the same S 1.03
            W 108.45 poles to a stone on the north side of the Dry Run road. Then
            north the same East 155.45 poles to a stone on the Northe side
            side road and in a line of the Heris of Hugh Moore decd. Then north
            the same North 105.05 poles to the Beginning. containy by servey
            one hundred and one acres and thirty three poles. To have and
            to hold the above described tract of land together with all and
            singular the appertenances there unto belonging to him the said
            James S. Meese and his heirs for and during the natural life of
            him the said James Moore. And the said William Moore
            commissioner as aforesaid by virtue of the premises and to the
            extent of his power and aughority as commissioner as aforesaid
            doth and _____ forever warrant and defend the title thereto against
            all claims whatever to him the said Meese and his heirs during the
            life time of said James Moore but in no event is the said William

11 Mar 1844 Between James S. MEESE & Jane his wife = party of the
            1st part. Joseph C. GRAY = party of 2nd part. For
            $3244.50 MEESE conveys a tract of land lying on Lanes
            Run where said MEESE now resides. Bounded by heirs of
            Hugh MOORE dec'd to Muddy Ford road. 101 acres, 33
            poles. Same land conveyed to said MEESE by William
            MOORE commissioner appointed in the case of William
            MOORE against James MOORE and also in the case of
            William MOORE against Westley MOORE.

Whereas the Scott Circuit Court by a decree rendered in the case of
Robert Risk against Crawford Moore decreed and ordered a sale of the
land mentioned in the deed of Trust filed in the papers of said suit,
I herein after described and appointed the said Risk commissioner as
aforesaid in obedience to said decree and after having duly advertised
the time, place and terms of said sale decreed as aforsaid as directed
by said decree did on the 4th day of April 1843 on the premises offer
the said tract of land in said deed of trust described for sale to the
highest bidder, according to the terms and directions of said decree
subject to the lien of P. Leathus executor when Samuel Moore of
Woodford County KY became a bidder and bid the sum of twenty four
hundred and fifty 25/100 dollars which being the highest and best
bid therefore and no one offering to give any more the same was
knocked off to him. Said Samuel Moore who complied with the terms of
said sale and has since that time fully paid the purchase money
thereof. Now therefore this Indenture made and entered into this
full day of September 1845 between the said Robert Risk Trustee of
Crawford Moore and commissioner of the Scott Circuit Court appointed
by said court to carry into effect the decree rendered in the case of
Robert Risk against Crawford Moore and also to convey said land to
the purchaseing thereof party of the first part and Samuel Moore of
Woodford County Kentucky of the second part witnesseth that the said
Risk Trustee _________ him thereby vested and in consideration of the
sum of Twenty four hundred and fifty dollars and twenty five cents to
him paid by said Samuel Moore the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged in full of the purchase mony of said land doth grant,
bargain, sell, and convey to the said Samuel Moore the
aforementioned tract or parcel of land lying in Scott County KY on
the waters of Lanes Run containing one hundred and sixty two acres
be the same more or less, being the same conveyed by Alfred D.
Offutt to said Crawford Moore, Harvey Moore and Scott Moore and
two undivided thirds thereof were afterwards conveyed to said
Crawford by the said Harvey and Scott Moore which deeds of
conveyance were recorded in the Scott County Court Clerks office
and reference is hereby had and made to them as well as to said
deed of Trust for a more particular description thereof. To have
and to Hold the above described tract of land with all the
appendenancies? thereto to him the said Samuel Moore and his heirs
forever.

And the said Risk Trustee and commissioner as aforesaid by virtue of
the power in him vested as aforesaid doth and will forever warrant
and defend the title to said land to him the said Samuel Moore and
his heirs forever against all claims whatever so far as he is
empowered and authorised by virtue of the premises but the said Risk
is in no event to be peraonally and individually responsible.

This Indenture, made and entered into this 25th day of September in
the year 1847 between Mary Ann Moore of the County of Scott and State
of Kentucky party of the first part, and John Sheley of the county
and state aforesaid party of the second part. _________ that the
said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of
seven hundred and seventy five dollars in hand paid the receipt
thereof is hereby acknowledged, hath this day _____, bargained and
sold, and by these persons doth hereby alien(?), grant, bargain, sell,
convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part, a certain
interest in a tract or parcel of land laying and being in Scott County
Kentucky and ______ ______ and ______ded as follow it being all the
interest the said party of the first part has in and to the tract of
land upon which her father resided at his death. It being her full
and entire interest. That she was legally entitled to as heir of
her father and her brother Samuel Sheley deceased which said tract
of land contains about one hundred and four acres, together with all
and singular ____ advantages, improvements and appartenances
thereunto belonging and appertaining to have and to hold unto him
the said party of the second part his heirs and ____ forever; and
the said party of the first part for herself and heirs, sons, and
____ do hereby covenant to and with the said party of the second
part his heirs, ____, admins, and ____, that she will warrant and
defend the right and title to the aforesaid interest in the track
or parcel of land against the claims and demands of all and every
person or persons whatsoever. In Testimony whereof the party of the

I am not going to fully transcribe this one.

It is an indenture made on the 18th day of October 1847 between David Hudson and his wife Lucinda and Lewis C. Suggett of the county of Scott and state of Kentucky to Robert Moore of the county of Fayette and state of Kentucky. Settlement amount was two hundred and seventy
five dollars. The land was one hundred acres and bounded by property belonging to Joseph B. Beatty. This land lies on the head waters of Lytles fork of Eagle creek.
