Bessie Scott Dallas

Bessie Scott Dallas, 99, of Sadieville, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003. She was the widow of Roy Dallas.

She was born March 16, 1903, to the late Sarah Elizabeth Nutter and William Scott in Sadieville, where she lived most of her life. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Sadieville, and served faithfully until illness prevented her from attending. She had many friends and acquaintances, who loved being in her presence. Children and adults were drawn to her and the many stories she would tell.

Survivors include five nieces, Charlesetta Miller, of Lexington, Mary Tatman, of Lexington, Evelyn Miller, of Cincinnati, Linda Bowman, of Philadelphia, and George Etta Hughes, of Cincinnati; two nephews, Ronald Bowman, of Elsmere, and Leroy Bowman, of Owenton; and many grand-nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Sadieville Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl Raglin officiating.

Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. until time of service, at the church.

Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bobby Joe Daugherty, 59, of Keelridge Drive, Georgetown, died 
Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at Georgetown Community Hospital. He was the 
husband of Sally Keisling Daugherty.
A native of Scott County, he was the son of Gertrude Bruin Daugherty 
Covington, of Georgetown, and the late Robert S. Daugherty.
Survivors include his wife; his mother; three children, Carrie Sue 
Eads, of Paris, Andrew Joe Daugherty, of Fayette County, and Alice Ann 
Centers, of Scott County; six grandchildren; a brother, John Daugherty, 
of Georgetown; and a sister, Roberta D. Osborne, of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at 
Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Andrew, John and Robert Cook Daugherty; R.B. 
Graves; Robert Eads; Stanley Bruin; and James E. Sons.

Louise Miskell Davidson

Louise Miskell Davidson, 82, died Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Hospice Care Center, St. Joseph 
Hospital, in Lexington. She was the widow of Tom K. Davidson.

She was born April 27, 1924, in Scott County, to the late Lonnie B. and Hyacinth Bryant Miskell. 
She worked with the Fayette County Public Schools in the media service and was a member of 
Epworth Methodist Church. Survivors include, two sons; Terry Davidson and George Davidson, both 
of Georgetown; a daughter, Susan (Scott) Andrews, of Cynthiana; three grandchildren, Michael 
Dulin Jr., Shawn Davidson and Natasha (Brad) Turner; and four great-grandchildren, Classy 
Davidson, Katlynn Anderson, Lilian Louise Dulin and James Giannico Jr.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2006, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, 
with Dr. Charles Pinkston officiating.

Burial will be in GEORGETOWN CEMETERY.

Visitation will be noon until time of service.

Cleveland Davis

Cleveland Davis, 48, of Georgetown, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at his 
home. He was the husband of Bonnie Marksberry Davis.
A native of Nicholasville, he was the son of Mary Lunsford Corman, of 
Nicholasville, and the late Emmit Davis. 
Survivors include his wife; his mother; three sons, Anthony Wayne 
Davis, Cleveland Davis Jr. and Steven Ray Davis, all of Lexington; a 
daughter, Candi Gaines, of Georgetown; a former wife, Sheila Davis, of 
Nicholasville; three brothers, Melvin Corman, of Lexington, and Gilbert 
Corman Jr. and David Corman, both of Nicholasville; and a sister, Suzie 
Thacker, of Nicholasville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Davis; a 
brother, Charles Davis; and a grandmother, Lena Lunsford, who raised 
him.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 4, 2002, at Johnson’s Funeral 
Home with Bro. Larry Joseph officiating.
Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Cleveland Davis Jr., Melvin and David Corman,

Linda Hudson Day, 64 of Trinity Court, died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

She was a native of Lexington and the daughter of the late Johnnie G. and Lila Virginia Reed Hudson.

Survivors include two daughters, Georgia Ann Knippenberg, of Morehead, and Con-stance Lorraine Davis, of Cynthiana; two sons, Leonard Wayne Wilson, of Morehead, and James M. Collins, of Lexington; two sisters, Martha King, of Lexington, and Sharon Richardson, of Georgetown; six grandchildren; three great- grandchildren and two special friends, Cheryl and Patti Hudson.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, in the Georgetown Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Charles Dennis Devers II, 22, of Stamping Ground, died Friday, April 
12, 2002, in Paris.
A native of Fayette County, he was a general laborer and member of the 
Grace Christian Church.
Survivors include his father, Charles D. Devers, of Stamping Ground; 
his mother, Ginger Darlene Woodrum Adams, of Georgetown; two sisters, 
Ginny Lee Dickerson and Michelle Darlene Devers, both of Stamping

Sarah Louvenia Johnson Dishman


Sarah Louvenia Johnson Dishman, of Lucy Lane, Lexington, died 
Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at the St. Joseph Hospital after an extended 
illness. She was the widow of Oscar Dishman Jr., to whom she was 
married 58 years.

A native of Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late Elmore and 
Naomi Smith Johnson. 

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Emily Greene, Mary Smarr, 
Helen Blackwell and Evelyn Walker.

Survivors include three children, Carolyn Dishman (Ben) Bell, Bernard 
(Angela) Dishman and Marilyn Dishman; nine grandchildren, William Oscar 
Richard (Sharon) Bell, Lisa Renee Bell, Stacy (Donny) Carter, Sabrena 
(Jonathan) Kelly-Lewis, R. Angelique Bell, Ebonique Burns, Bernard 
Steven Kirksey, Dwayne Oscar Dishman and Shomari Dishman; 10 
great-grandchildren; a step-sister, Mary (Robert) Miller; a

Zeke Doss

Zeke Doss, 82, of Stamping Ground, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at 
Georgetown Community Hospital.
He was born in Anderson County, and was the son of the late Matt and 
Hatty Carrier Doss. He was a retired farmer, U.S. World War II Veteran, 
member of the V.F.W. Post No. 4075 and a member of White Sulphur 
Springs Baptist Church, of Georgetown.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Carol Doss, of Stamping Ground.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Jimmy, Matt and 
Harvey Doss; and two sisters, Pearl Hopper and Clara Belle James.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at 
Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Craven officiating.
Burial will be in the family lot in the Alton Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Paul, Ronnie and Jerry Gipson; Jody Tucker; 
Kenny Spaulding and Carey Wilson.
Military services will be conducted from the graveside by the V.F.W. 
Post No. 4075.

Robert L. Douthitt, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, of complications related to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

He was born Aug. 20, 1938, in Fayette County, the son of the late Robert L. and Susie H. Douthitt. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1956, was employed by Bevins Motor Co., where he retired in 2002 after 42 years of employment and was a member of Penn Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Barry Lee Douthitt and a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Conway Douthitt, both of Lexington; and four sisters; Marceleen Reed, of Lexington, Eunice Sharpe and Shirley Napier, both of Georgetown, and Patricia Dobey, of Tallahassee, Fla.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William Douthitt, and two sisters, Mary B. Smoot and Norma Grantham.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Sageser officiating.

Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers will be Bobby Sageser, Ben Johnson, Bill Purcell, Virgil Sageser, Bobby Shropshire, Bobby Wasson, Tommy Woodall and Ray Bowman.

Lee F. Dragoo, 61, of Bellevue, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, 
at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born in Scott 
County on May 19, 1939, and was the son of Vivian Woolums Dragoo, 
of Highland Heights, and the late Howard Dragoo. He was a member 
of Bellevue First Baptist Church and was a retired carrier for 
the Kentucky Post. Survivors include his mother; a daughter, 
Tammie Ray Dragoo, of Hopkinsville; four sons, Lee Dragoo Jr., 
of Bellevue, Mark Dragoo, of Bellevue, Anthony Dragoo, of 
Covington, and James T. Dragoo, of Bellevue; a brother, James 
T. Dragoo, of Alexandria; a sister, Judy Carroll Goodman, of 
Duluth, Ga.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be 
held at noon Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at Tucker, Yocum & 
Wilson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery. Casket bearers will

John Harvey Duncan, 80, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002.
He was born Sept. 20, 1921, and was raised in Scott County. He married 
Ermadine Maushund, from Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 10, 1941.
Survivors include two children, Victor Orville Duncan, of Grove City, 
Ohio, and Delores (Susie) McIntosh, of Georgetown; four grandchildren, 
Connie McIntosh, of Georgetown, Melissa Karmick, of Westerville, Ohio, 
Sherri Mallory, of Georgetown, and Fred Duncan, of Cleveland; six 
great-grandchildren, Kendall Mallory, Braden Florence, Justin and 
Elizabeth Karmick and Benjamin and Samantha Duncan; a sister, Leona 
Hackworth, of Georgetown; many nieces and nephews, and extended family 
members.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arbor, Russell, Orville and 
Ottis Duncan; and sisters, Alma Gillispie and Annaleen Piatt.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, 10 a.m., at the 
Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Duncan Family Cemetery.

W. Paul Duncan

W. Paul Duncan, 84, of Georgetown, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at Georgetown Community Hospital. 
He was the husband of the late Corinne Rains Duncan.
He was born in Scott County on March 11, 1918, and was the son of the late Willis and Ada Williamson 
Duncan. He served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Army. He served as tax 
commissioner for Scott County from 1952-1976 and worked at the ASCS office. He also went on to 
serve and retire from the position of postmaster of Georgetown from 1967-1980.
He was a member of Oxford Christian Church for 70 years, where he also served as a deacon. He 
was a member of the VFW, American Legion, member and past president for the Kiwanis Club for 40 
years, active Scott County Democratic Executive Commission, Scott County 4-H Council, honorary 
member of FFA and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member and lifetime board member of Farm 
Bureau, Kentucky Water and Soil Conservation Commission and the Farm City Commission. He was a 
Master Soil Conservationist and was awarded the Pioneer Farm Award.
Survivors include two sons, Paul (Pamela K.) Duncan II and Ronald R. Duncan, both of Georgetown; 
three brothers, Clyde Duncan, of Scott County, Earl Duncan, of Jeffersontown, and Noah Duncan, of 
Harrison County; two grandchildren, Van Douglas Duncan and Stacy Nicole Duncan (Matt) Wilson; a 
great-grandchild, Alora Grace Wilson; a special sister-in-law, Pauline Duncan; and several nieces and 
nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Marion Douglas Duncan; two sisters, Alma Clem and Christine 
Duncan; and two brothers, J.D. and Carl Duncan.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with 
Susan Ellis, interim minister at Oxford Christian Church, officiating.
Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Van Douglas, Darryl, Gary, Dudley and Larry Duncan and Peter Rains.

Robert "Bobby" Dunn

Robert "Bobby" Dunn, 80 of Rucker Avenue, died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Homestead Nursing Home in Lexington.

A native of Scott County, he was the son of the late Beckham and Stella K. Barkley Dunn.

He attended the First Church of the Nazarene and was a retired farmer and sawmill worker.

Survivors include three brothers, Buford (Juanita) Dunn, Winford (Helen) Dunn and John Raymond Dunn, all of Georgetown; three sisters, Helen Hampton and Beulah Covington, both of Georgetown, and Doris Brewsaugh, of Hamilton, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Vic Dunn.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Johnson's Funeral Home, officiated by Minister Charlie Haselwood.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services.

Burial will be in the Crestlawn Cemetery.

Mark Francis Eddy, Ph.D., 53, of Redding Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007 at his home.

He was the husband of Lisa Swensen Eddy.

A native of Kansas City, Mo., he was the son of Alice Marcile Francis Eddy, of West Lafayette, Ind., and the late Evan Max Eddy.

He was a former Georgetown College professor and a member of Faith Baptist Church and the Hambrick Sunday School class.

Survivors include two sons, Paul and Matthew; a daughter, Karen Eddy (Allen McCul-lough), and four brothers, Michael, Chris, Steven and Robert Eddy.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 at Faith Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Robert M. Fox Jr.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the church.

Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be his four brothers, Tim Swensen and John Blackburn.

Dewey C. Emmons, 77, of Sadieville, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at his home. He was the husband of the late Geneva Wright Emmons.

He was born on Aug. 16, 1926, in Scott County and was the son of the late James Kirk and Mary Ann Mynear Emmons. He served his country during World War II. 
He was a retired employee of Clark Equipment and a farmer. He was a member of the Porter Christian Church and the VFW.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Larry) Wilson, of Greer, S.C.; two grandchildren, Brad Lee, of Sadieville, and Brandi Lee, of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Glady Duncan, of Frankfort; and two brothers, Robert L. Emmons, of Corinth, and Joe M. Emmons, of Sadieville.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James David Emmons.

William Matthew Faulconer, 89, of Georgetown, died Tuesday, 
Nov. 21, 2000, at his home. He was the husband of Julia McMillin 
Faulconer. A native of Scott County, he was the son of the 
late William Clay and Nettie Kenny Faulconer and was a member 
and elder of First Presbyterian Church. He was a retired U.S. 
Public Health Service dietician.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Clay Cooper (Felicia) 
Faulconer, of Lexington, and William Renaker (Sandy) Faulconer, 
of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Chauncey F. (Dawn) Faulconer, 
Larissa O. Faulconer, Brandon J. Faulconer, Natasha R. Faulconer, 
William B. Faulconer and Sara E. Faulconer; and several nieces 
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and 
Granville Faulconer, and a sister, Ophelia WOOLUMS.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, 
Nov. 25, 2000, at Johnson’s Funeral Home, with the Rev. C. 
Patterson Clark Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery.

Julia Elmo Faust, 90, of Georgetown, died Thursday, March 28, 2002, at 
Georgetown Community Hospital.
She was born in Scott County on Aug. 17, 1911, and was the daughter of 
the late Howard Rowland and Laura Mae Hinton Evans. She was a retired 
employee of the University of Kentucky Hospital and a member of the 
Turkey Foot Christian Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Geneva Driskel and Juanita Zumwalt, both 
of Sadieville; a niece, Sheri Duncan, of Sadieville; a nephew, Robert 
Zumwalt, of Cynthiana; and three great-nieces, Kimberly Michalek, Keri 
Duncan and Susan Davisson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Tucker, Yocum & 
Wilson Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Gibbons officiating.
Burial was in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
Casket bearers were Bob Duncan, Robert Zumwalt, Alan Michalek, Mark

June Feck, 76, of George-town, died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Central 
Baptist Hospital. She was the widow of Jack W. Feck.
Born in Nicholasville, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and 
Grace Curry Fain. She retired from the Fayette County Clerk’s Office as 
a deputy clerk. She attended Northside Christian Church in Georgetown.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela D. (David) Harper, of 
Lexington, and Cynthia L. (Raymond K.) McWhorter, of Georgetown; three 
grandchildren, Cheryl Lynn (Mark) Estepp, of Lexington, and James W. 
McWhorter and Robert M. McWhorter, both in the United States Marine 
Corps; and a brother, Bobby Fain, of Key West, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2002, at 
Kerr Brothers Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Elam officiating.
Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

Clyde Ferguson, 67, of Georgetown, died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at 
the Kindred Hospital in Louisville.
A native of Montgomery County, he was the son of Vida Clem Ferguson, of 
Georgetown, and the late Dewey Ferguson. 
Survivors include two sons, David Grant and Randall Ferguson; four 
grandchildren; two brothers, Paul (Teresa) Ferguson and Roy (Margery) 
Ferguson; four sisters, Irene Coomer, Wanda Rice, Rita (Frank) Hayes 
and Judy (Billy) Jenkins; five nephews; and eight nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2002, at

Donald Fields, 63, of Scroggins Park, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at his home.

A native of Scott County, he was the son of the late Stanley S. and Opal Lee Holland Fields.

He was a Scott County constable and the former chief of police for Dry Ridge and Versailles and had served on the police forces in Northern Kentucky and Georgetown.

Survivors include a son, Scott (Beth) Fields; two grandsons, Lee Fields and Josh Cornett; two sisters, Rita Hayden Fields and Marilyn Wagoner Fields, all of Georgetown; a brother, Willard (Brenda) Fields, of Williamstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at Johnson's Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Larry Covington, Phillip Wise, Jerry Miller, Mike Leaverton, Lane Crawley and Brad Russell.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Elizabeth "Polly" Fields, 79, widow of A.E. "Gene" Fields Jr., died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Georgetown Community Hospital.

She was born in Bourbon County on Sept. 29, 1927, to the late Warder and Myrtle Alice Hunt McCord.

She was a member of Northside Christian Church and Eastern Hills Homemak-ers.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (Gordon) Wright, of Georgetown, Gayle (Alice) Fields, of Paris, Janet (Larry) Duncan, of Cynthiana, and Judy (Toney) Roberts, of Batesville,_Miss.; a sister, Ann Montgomery, of Marshall, Texas; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Shropshire, and a brother, William E. McCord.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at Tuckey, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Coburn officiating.

Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery.

Herman DeWitt Fields, 88, of Main Street, Sadieville, died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at Georgetown 
Community Hospital. He was the widower of Josephine Chowning Fields.

A native of Pendleton County, he was the son of the late John Clark and Blanche Ginn Fields. He 
was the owner of the former Farmers Supply and Fields & Cushman Grocery and was well known for 
the huxter truck he drove all over the countryside selling his groceries. He was a member and 
Elder Emeritus of Sadieville Christian Church, a member of the former Sadieville Lions Club and 
the Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM.

Survivors include two daughters, Marsha F. Hymer, of Georgetown, and Jo Carol (Bill) Wilson, of 
Sadieville; four grandchildren, John (Gwen) Hymer III, Allen (Suzanne) Justice, Jennifer J. 
(Brian) Lohnes and Jeffrey (Kay) Justice; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at Johnson's Funeral Home by Bro. Michael 
Halcomb and Bro. Bennie Robbins. 

Burial was in SADIEVILLE CEMETERY.

Emma Katherine Faulconer Fightmaster, 81, of Baton Rouge, La., formerly 
of Sadieville, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, in Baton Rouge. She was the 
widow of Russell L. Fightmaster.
A native of Scott County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and 
Judith Stone Faulconer. She had lived the last eight years with her 
daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Mitchell Bourgeois in Baton Rouge.
Other survivors include three grandsons, Rod, Russell and Ross 
Bourgeois; a great-grandson, Daniel Bradford Bourgeois; three sisters, 
Helen Vance, of Owenton, Stella Jordan, of Frederick, Md., and Mildred 
Rutledge, of Covington; and two sisters-in-law, Robin Faulconer, of 
Covington, and Edith Fightmaster, of Sadieville.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Russell Keith Fightmaster; 
a sister, Ora Doan; and two brothers, Robert and John Faulconer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at

She was born in Scott County on Aug. 20, 1902, and was the daughter of the late Richard Montgomery and Lula Vance Hinton. She was a member of the Turkeyfoot Christian Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Tommie McKenney, of Cynthiana, and Ellen Moreland, of Frankfort; two nieces, Joyce Parks, of Lexington, and Betsy Reigle, of Houston, Texas; and four nephews, Doyle Hinton, of Scott County, Barry Moreland, of Frankfort, Monty Hinton, of Lexington, and Charles Hinton, of Seffner, Fla.

Formerly of Cincinnati, she was the daughter of Juanita Wilson Fishback and the late Benjamin Fishback. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Glendale, Ohio.

Survivors are her aunts, Virginia Cotton, Betty (Edgar) McDaniels and J.P. (William) Peters, and her uncles, Avalon (Katie) Wilson, Andrew K. (Dorothia) Wilson and David (Rita) Wilson, all of Georgetown.

FELL FROM CAR..Died of his injuries

Mr. Isaac Fluke, of Georgetown, fell from an interurban car on its way 
from Lexington to Georgetown, on Tuesday afternoon of last week, at the 
Oak Street crossing, Lexington. He was standing on the rear of the 
platform of the car, and as it was rounding the curve he fell to the 
ground. He was picked up in an unconscious condition and hurried to 
St. Josephs Hospital. It was found that there was a fracture at the 
base of his skull. An operation was performed the following day. He 
died Friday afternoon from the effects of the injury, never having 
regained consciousness. His family were with him at the time.

Mr. Fluke lived in Georgetown and was formerly engaged in the hauling 
business. He was aged 42yrs and was a son of Mr. J.C. Fluke. He is 
survived by a widow and five children, the oldest about 14 years of 
age.

The remains were brought home for buriel. The buriel took place Sunday 
morning in the local cemetery. Services were conducted at the grave by 
Rev. M.B. Aiusworth. The pall bearers were Al Graves, Benj. Wright, Wm 
Honaker, J.S. Lancaster Howard Nutter and Harvey Giles.

Mr. J.C. Fluke, aged 84 years, died Saturday afternoon of dropsy at his 
home on Stone Street.

Mr Fluke was a widower and is survived by the following children: Mrs. 
Ina Offutt, Mrs. George Jones, Mrs. J.H. Riddle, Mrs. Floren Glass, 
Mrs. A.J. McKnight and Andrew and Jim Fluke.

The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the grave in

Mrs. Permelia Fluke, wife of Mr. J. Creath Fluke, died at her home on 
the Burton pike, about nine miles from Georgetown, on the 8th inst. 
after an illness of several months, in the 64th year of her age. She 
leaves a husband and six children. Mrs Albert McKnight, Mrs Floring 
Glass, Mrs. Virgie Hampton, James, Bird and Andrew Fluke. She is also 
survived by a sister, Mrs. Sam Moss,and a brother Mr. Mike Adair.

Funeral services were conducted at the grave by Rev. H.C. Kendrick, and 
the remains were buried in Georgetown Cemetery.

Sarah (Sallie) Simmons Fluke

Mrs. Sarah Simmons Fluke was born in Bracken Co. June 27, 1872. 
Departed this life February 13, 1957 at the age of 84 yrs. She was 
married to Isaac Fluke December 15, 1895. To this union were born nine 
children, five of whom have preceded her in death. She has four living 
daughters, Ina Streavel, Pearl Plummer, Blanch Lagory and Jackie Head 
all of Cincinnati, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. She was 
the oldest member of the Church of the Nazarene in Georgetown, a devout 
Christian and altho she was blind and for many years unable to attend 
the services she was always so happy to have friends call and read the 
bible and pray with her. She was a faithful soul and constantly 
affirmed her faith in her wonderful saviour and was a blessing to many.

Jasmine Skylar Freeman

Jasmine Skylar Freeman, daughter of Tommy Freeman and Natalie Grubb, 
died at birth Thursday, April 25, 2002, at the University of Kentucky 
Medical Center.
Survivors include her parents; maternal grandparents Denny and Montie 
Kay Grubb, of Williamstown; and paternal grandparents Tom and Diann 
Freeman, of Paris.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 27, 2002, at Georgetown 
Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Peace officiating.
Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

John Forrest Fritts, 55, of Georgetown, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at 
Georgetown Community Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley Brooks 
Riley Fritts.
He was born Nov. 30, 1945, in Harrodsburg, and was the son of Charles 
L. and Ruby VanArsdale Fritts. 
Survivors include a son, John Daniel Fritts, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a 
daughter, Robyn (Craig) Allen, of Somerset; a stepson, Mike (Janet) 
Riley, of Georgetown; two stepdaughters, Kay (Donald) Thompson and Gina 
(Billy) Mullin, both of Georgetown; four sisters, Gene Ramsey, of 
Memphis, Mary Connelly, of Sparr, Fla., Van Fritts, of Frankfort, and 
Susan Franklin, of Lawrenceburg; and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Tucker, 
Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. John Cravens officiating.
Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with military rites.
Casket bearers will be Bryan Franklin, Grant Franklin, Donald Thompson, 
Jay Brooks, Billy Mullin and Tony Childress.
Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until time of the services at the 
funeral home.
