Leona Mabel Kelly Gann, 91, of Sadieville, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 
2001, at the Edgemont Manor Nursing Home of Cynthiana. She was the 
widow of Roy Spencer Gann.
She was born on June 23, 1910, in Scott County and was the daughter of 
the late Granville and Fannie T. Covington Kelly. 
Survivors include two sons, Billy Ray Gann, of Georgetown, and Samuel 
Kelly Gann, of Cynthiana; a daughter, Fannie Gann Coy, of Georgetown; 
five grandchildren, Charlene Coy Harney, Darlene Coy Sharpe, and Ben, 
Kendell and Dale Gann; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Roy Davis Gann.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at 
the Sadieville Christian Church, with Bro. Darell Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in the Sadieville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Letcher Dean Morgan, James Jones, Herman Hughes, 
Danny Sharpe, Harold Middleton and Camey Middleton.
Honorary bearers will be Danny Switzer, Johnny Jones, Jackie Covington, 
Bobby Sharp, Betty Stone, Juanita Murphy and Colleen Belcher.

Lucille Morgan Gibson, 85, of Georgetown, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, 
at her home. She was the wife of Charles F. Gibson.
She was born in Scott County on June 17, 1916, and was the daughter of 
the late Helm B. and Lena Moore Morgan. She was a homemaker and a 
member of the White Sulphur Baptist Church. She was also a member of 
the Colonel Dames, Big Springs D.A.R. Past Regent, Gibson Girls and 
Dames of Court of Honor. She was a member and past president of the 
Bethel and White Sulphur Homemakers. She was a past president for the 
Scott County Homemakers Association and past chaplain for the state 
D.A.R.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Charles M. (Kathy) Gibson and 
Bradford L. (Helen) Gibson, both of Georgetown; a daughter, Glenda G. 
(Jerome) Orth, of Marietta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Gina (Tim) 
Robinson, of Lexington, Allen (Paula) Gibson, of Georgetown, and 
Heather and Dustin Orth, both of Marietta, Ga.; three 
great-grandchildren, Cameron Robinson, Trinity Robinson and Chase 
Gibson; and a sister, Jane M. Weldon, of Georgetown.
She was preceded in death by a son, Edwin Allen Gibson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Georgetown 
Cemetery with Dr. Don Carroll and the Rev. John Cravens officiating.
Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery.

Forrest L. Giles, 83, of Dalewood Drive, Cynthiana, died Sunday, Jan. 
27, 2002, at the Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Anna 
Lee Hammock Giles.
He was born Sept. 26, 1918, in Scott County and was a son of the late 
Willie Cecil and Bertha May Price Giles. 
Survivors include his wife; a son, Warren L. Giles, of Cynthiana; a 
daughter, Dianna Stevens, of Cynthiana; five grandchildren, Charles 
Martin Power Jr., Douglas Eugene Power, William Ray Giles, Douglas Lee 
Giles and Dianna Rose Giles; and five great-grandchildren, Cynthia 
Marie Power, Heather Rose Power, Derrick Clayton Power, Nathanial Scott 
Giles and Courtney Ann Giles.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at the Drake Funeral 
Home with the Rev. Larry Lee Jones officiating.
Burial was in the Pythian Grove Cemetery.

Irene Rodgers Giles, 88, of Stamping Ground, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 
2001. She was the widow of Carmel Giles.
She was born in Scott County on Sept. 13, 1913, and was the daughter of 
the late Bird and Adell Lancaster Rodgers. She was a member of the 
Stamping Ground Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ernestine Darnell and Mrs. 
Kenneth (Thelma) Darnell, both of Stamping Ground; a brother, George 
Rodgers, of Decker, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Elveree Bailey, of Georgetown; 
six grandchildren, Jo Ann Ruble, Tina Darnell, Buster Cannon, Bobby 
Cannon, Barry Cannon and David Cannon; 15 great-grandchildren and 10 
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Mae Giles; a grandchild, 
Charles Robert Darnell; a son-in-law, James Darnell; two 
great-grandchildren, James and Charles Cannon; three sisters, Luvina 
Devers, Arnetta Holder and Lucy Mae Robinson; and a brother, Herschel 
Rodgers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at 
Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Calvert 
officiating.
Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Stamping Ground.
Casket bearers will be Lloyl Thomas Devers, George Elmer Devers, Jeff 
Devers, Norman Graves, Buster Cannon and Warren J. Giles.
Honorary bearers will be her grandsons.

Katherine Gillispie

Katherine Gillispie, 81, of Georgetown, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Grant Manor of Williamstown. She was the wife of the Rev. Ray Gillispie for 60 years.

She was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Scott County and was the daughter of the late Denver and Stella Perkins Wainscott. She was a seamstress and a member of the First Church of God, Fordland Drive.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Jim (Carol) Gillispie, of Stamping Ground; two daughters, Ruth Ann Gillispie and Katherine Hope Hudson, both of Lexington; three grandchildren, Ron (Debbie) Gillispie, Mike Hudson and Bradley Turpin Jr.; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Wainscott; and two brothers, James and Raymond Wainscott.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Lowell Rice and the Rev. Gary Eden officiating.

Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Gary Wainscott, Jay Henderson, Mike Hudson, Ron Gillispie, Joe Saleem and Leon Gillispie.

Homer Holt Givin Jr.

Dr. Homer Holt Givin Jr. passed away at age 86 at home after a brief illness on March 31, 2007. His sister, eldest daughter and longtime companion were at his side.

He was born in Hazard on April 7, 1920, to Marie Louise Spencer and Homer Holt Givin Sr.

He served in Japan in World War II as an Army captain, and later received his doctorate in nuclear physics from the University of Kentucky. He began a 30-year career with IBM in 1954 and was the founding manager of the first IBM Scientific Center, a research and de_velopment group in Los Angeles, managing the center for over a decade. Later, he was appointed chairman of the Joint Government and Industry Commission of the Southern California Earthquake Preparedness Project. He retired to New Smyrna Beach, Fla., in 1984.

He was a loving and generous man, always offering ready support in time of trouble.

Survivors include his sister, Ella Elizabeth (T.T.) McGarvey, of Georgetown; his companion, Polly Jordahn; two daughters, Ann Givin and Shelau Givin, and their families; a nephew, Stephen Dunifer and a cousin, Carlisle Spencer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Shely.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007, in the Georgetown Cemetery, with the Rev. Arthur Conaway officiating.

Johnson's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Charles H. Glass, 85, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at 
his home. He was the husband of the late Frances Burnside Glass.
A native of Owen County, he was the son of the late Luke Quince and Lue 
Settie Glass. He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in 
Europe in the Battle of the Bulge, and was the recipient of four Bronze 
Stars. 
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dara G. and Bill Pulliam, 
of Frankfort; a grandson, Robert Howard, of Lexington; a brother, Nolan 
Glass, of Georgetown; and two step-daughters, June Parker, of 
Georgetown, and Sue Ann True, of Owen County.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 2, 2001, at Johnson’s 
Funeral Home.
Burial was in Caney Fork Cemetery, Owen County.
Casket bearers were Robert Howard, Doug Glass, John Arnold, Tommy

Fannie Pullen Glass, 81, South Broadway, Georgetown, died Saturday, 
April 29, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. She was the wife 
of Tolbert A. Glass. A native of Scott County, she was the daughter 
of the late Thomas Stewart and Lilly Mae Woolums Pullen, and was a 
member of the First Church of God, Fordland Drive. Survivors include 
two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Billy Dalzell, of Georgetown, 
and Judy and Wayne Lanter, of Versailles; two sons and daughters-in-law
Larry and Linda Glass, of Cincinnati, and Danny and Ginger Glass, of 
Georgetown; a sister, Opehlia Spurgeon, of Amelia, Ohio; nine 
grandchildren, Rick and Kathie Dalzell, Tina and Perry Johnston, 
Jeff and Regina Lanter, Missie and Jeff Lewis, Brian, Darren and 
Dannette Glass, Christina and Kevin Rich and Laura Glass; and 12

Gordon Glass Jr.

Gordon Glass Jr., 76, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at his home. He was the husband of Mary Ann Ward Glass for 52 years.

A native of Scott County, he was the son of the late Gordon and Anna Elizabeth Lynn Glass and was a World War II Army veteran. He lived in the Josephine community of Scott County for 63 years and was a member of the Caney Fork Baptist Church. A retired Scott County farmer, he served as an ASCS committee member for 18 years and represented Scott County as a director of the Burley Tobacco Cooperative for 24 years.

Survivors include his wife; four children, Elizabeth Ann (Revel M.) Oliver, of Stamping Ground, Marilyn Cay Haynes and Gordon Clark (Cathy M.) Glass, both of Georgetown, and Marsha Renee (Terry) Bertram, of Monticello; nine grandchildren, Revel M. II (Bonnie) Oliver, Heath Curtis Oliver, Matthew Lee Haynes, Sarah Catherine Glass, Katelyn Ann Glass, Ashley Clark Glass, Hannah Elizabeth Bertram, Daniel Ewing Bertram and Rachel Renee Bertram; two great-grandchildren, Cody Tyler and Carly Anne Oliver; two sisters, Juanita G. She died Monday at her home.

Born April 25, 1919, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Ford and Melissa Johnson. She was retired from the Fayette County school system.

Survivors include a son, Vernon E. Glass of Lexington; a daughter, Joann Curd of Danville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Norlene Watkins.

Tolbert A. Glass, 83, of Georgetown, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at his home. He was the widower of Fannie Pullen Glass. A 
native of Scott County, he was the son of the late Lewis and Pearlie Johnson Glass. He was a member of the First Church of 
God, Fordland Drive; Carpenters Local Union No. 1650; and a life member of the VFW Post 7054. He was a retired licensed 
carpenter for R.T. Jordans in Lexington, where he was known to everyone as "Smiley."

Albert Theodore Goepper

Albert Theodore Goepper, 85, and his wife of 59 years Mary Lee Fields Goepper, 83, both of Sadieville, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, and Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, respectively in Wilmore.

Albert Theodore Goepper was a native of Brooklyn and was the son of the late Albert Gabriel and Edith MacNorton Goepper. He was a sergeant major and 33-year veteran of “Pershing’s Own” U.S. Army Band, Ft. Myer, Va. He played the trombone in the marching band and piano at White House events. After his military career, he retired to Sadieville and graduated from Georgetown College in 1981 with a degree in music. 
He sang in the choir at the Georgetown Presbyterian Church for years and loved to walk stray dogs in Sadieville and talk to his friends.

Mary Lee Fields Goepper was a native of Bracken County and was the daughter of the late John Clark and Blanch Ginn Fields. She was a graduate of Georgetown College and the Cincinnati Art Academy. She worked in Washington, D.C., for the Defense Intelligence Agency where she was an illustrator. She was active in garden, art clubs, and the Sadieville city council and festival. 
They were both members of the Sadieville Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, John (Cindy) Goepper, of Rochester, N.Y., and Todd (Linda) Goepper, of Wilmore; and three granddaughters, Sarah, Laura and Marylee Goepper, of Wilmore. Mr. Goepper is survived by a sister, Gloria G. McCarthy, of Linbrook, N.Y.; two nieces; and two nephews. Mrs. Goepper is survived by a brother, Herman Fields, of Sadieville; and a sister, Alma Cushman, of Frankfort; three nieces, Marsha Hymer, Jo Carol (Bill) Wilson, of Sadieville, and Susan (Phil) Case, of Frankfort.

Joint funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson’s Funeral Home with Elizabeth Holt officiating.

Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Jeff Justice, Jon Hymer, Stan Smith, William Marshall, Allen Smith, Bob Routt, Jan Southworth and Bryan Crisp.

V.A. Medical Center of Lexington.
He was born on July 31, 1912, in Scott County and was the son of the 
late Willie Bill and Ella Romans Gorham. 
Survivors include a son, Jim Gorham, of Stamping Ground; a grandson, Bo 
Gorham; a brother, Bobby Gorham, of Apollo Beach, Fla.; and two 
sisters, Beulah Powers, of Scott County, and Hester Underwood, of 
Georgetown.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clayton (Mutt), Lonnie 
(Jack) and Carl Gorham.

Edmund "Junior" Gray

Edmund "Junior" Gray, 71, of Georgetown Road in Lexington, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2007, at his home after a battle with throat cancer.

He was retired after many years as a mechanic, race car driver and horseman. He was a member of the Lafayette Naza_rene Church and loved NASCAR, UK basketball and his family. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

The widower of Lydia Bailey Gray, he was born in Scott County to the late Conley and Flora Horn Gray on Feb. 25, 1936.

Survivors include two sons, Milford (Brenda) Gray, of Georgetown, and Conley Andrew (Nicole) Gray, of Cynthiana; a daughter, Sandra (Todd) Goff, of Beaver Dam; 10 grandchildren, Tony Ray Gray, Kelli Marie Gray, Courtney Jo Gray, Jonathan Zane Gray, Shannon Fightmaster, Joey Giles, Haleigh Marie Goff, Jessica Faithe Goff, Madison Alexandra Gray and Joshua Tyler Vest; a daughter-in-law, Jane Gray, of Paris; a brother, Brodus Gray, of Richmond; two sisters, Ruth Ruth, of Sulpher, and Sally (Norman) Cheeks, of Richmond; a sister-in-law, Beverly Gray, of Richmond; and a special friend, Mary Patricia Kitchens.

Ira McDonald Gray, 67, of Graves Road, Stamping Ground, died Friday, 
Dec. 21, 2001, at Georgetown Community Hospital. He was the husband of 
Constance McAuley Gray.
A native of Westbourne, Tenn., he was the son of the late Justin 
McDonald and Mildred Cagley Gray.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lee Gray and 
David Gillis, of Stamping Ground, and Nan Parker Gray and Edd Harrell, 
of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Constance Elizabeth Gillis, 
Noah David Gillis and Jacob Benjamin Gillis, all of Stamping Ground; a 
sister, Barbara Gray Hanson, of Danville; his sister’s son, Don Gray

Jerry Douglas Gray, 54, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at Harrison Memorial Hospital. 

He was born Dec. 24, 1951, in Bourbon County, to the late George E. Gray II and Lucille Cook Gray. He was 
an Army Veteran, a member of the KTPA Pulling Association and a self-employed mechanic.

Survivors include a daughter, Melissa Jones, of Cynthiana; three grandchildren, Andrew Jones, Ryan Linville and Jody Linville, 
all of Cynthiana; three brothers, George (Wanda) Gray III, Larry (Linda) Gray and Tinker Jones, all of Cynthiana; a sister,

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Wallace, Celia Jean Wiggins and Marion Mattox.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Peer

He was born May 2, 1935, in Scott County, to the late Charles and Amanda Hornback Green.

He was a farmer and a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Clifford Earl (Tammy) Green, of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Clifford 
Earl Green Jr. and Elizabeth Ruth Green; four brothers, Coy Heart Green, of Georgetown, Roger 
Green, Robert Earl Green and Donald Ray Green, all of Fayette County; four sisters, Mildred 
Spence, Carol Hammons, Jean Fain and Louise Bryant, all of Georgetown; and several nieces, 
nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Milton Green, Ronald Green and Forest Green.

Greene.

homemaker.

She was born in Grant County on Oct. 21, 1933, and was the daughter of the John Levi and Grace Wright Moore. She was a member of the Cane Run Baptist Church and was an employee of Wal-Mart in Georgetown.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Todd Ransom, of Plattsburg, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Sara Beth and Mary Caitlin Ransom, both of Plattsburg, N.Y.; and a brother, Fred Moore, of Scott County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Logan Green, and brothers Luther, Floyd and Cecil Moore.

William Greenup.

the late Arthur Lee and Lula Catherine Riddle Reynolds.

daughters, Merla Jean (Punk) Graves and Dana Cheryl (David) Barnett, 
both of Stamping Ground; a sister, Betty Jane (Sam) Trevelion; a 
brother, George C. (Betty Jean) Reynolds; three sisters-in-law, Vina 
Ruth, Stella (Jerry) Stewart and Flossie Wainscott; 19 grandchildren; 
30 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Anna Kay Devers and Linda 
Ray West; and a son-in-law, Albert Devers.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Tucker, Yocum & 
Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Coomer officiating, with words

Daryl Keith Gregory, 26, of Georgetown, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at the Frankfort Regional Hospital.
He was the son of William D. and Phyllis Darnell Gregory.

Survivors include his parents; three sisters, Kimberly Gregory, Tracey (Brian) Peggs and Denise Gregory, all of Georgetown; a brother, Kevin (Kathy) Gregory, of Sadieville; two half-sisters, Darlene Gregory, of Atlanta, and Billie Lynn Gregory, of Bradenton, Fla.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Betty Yancey Griffith

Betty Yancey Griffith, 76, died Thursday, May 31, 2007, at her home in Georgetown.

She was a retired teacher and the wife of Dr. Bob G. Griffith for more than 54 years.
A native of Scott County, she was the daughter of the late Adam F. and Martha J. Yancey. She lived in Murray during her childhood and teenage years.
A graduate of Georgetown College, where she earned a bachelor's in music in 1952, she taught piano and, later, elementary school for 25 years in Fairfax County, Va., where she earned a master's in education from George Mason University in 1972.
A member of Georgetown Baptist Church and the Priscilla Sunday school class, she was active in the local Women's Association of Georgetown College and the Republican Women's club.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Nutter (Dianne) Griffith, of Lexington, and Robert Yancey (Susan) Griffith, of Keller, Texas; five grandchildren, Keith Andrew, Owen Robert and Annie Katherine Griffith, all of Lexington, and Adam Yancey and Victoria Janine Elizabeth Griffith, both of Keller, Texas; and several cousins, including Donna Sue Yancey, Samuel Jones, Evangeline Jones, Bamford Jones and Alan Proctor.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at Georgetown Baptist Church, officiated by the Revs. Kenneth D. Holden and Richard A. Weekley.

Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery.

Betsy Osborne Hall died Monday, May 29, 2006, at her home following a long illness. She was the 
widow of J.W. “Shady” Hall.

She was born in 1918 to the late Ann Laura Offutt Osborne and Ben Miller Osborne. She was a 
member of Dry Run Baptist Church. Her passions in life were her family and teaching, having 
fifth grade at Eastern Elementary and Garth Elementary for more than 30 years.

Survivors include three children, James Cary (Janice) Hall, of Sadieville, Margaret Ann Cook, of 
Lexington, and Amy Duncan, of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Jamie Hall, Paige Hall Lawrence 
and Dr. Andy Cook; great-grandchildren, including, Ashley Cook Masterson, Andrew Cook, Sophie 
Lawrence, McKenzie Hall, Eva Lawrence and James Cary Hall III; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Risk; and two brothers, John William Osborne and 
Ben Miller “Kelly” Osborne.

Hambrick. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a retired employee

Post No. 24. He was a Kentucky Colonel.

He was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Scott County to the late Raymond Lee and Elizabeth Helen Michael Hamilton. He was a retired employee of Hydro Plastics and a retired farmer. He attended the Central Church of God in Georgetown and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Leon (Barbara) Hamilton Jr. and Robert W. (Bobby) Hamilton, both of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Missie Kay (Brian) Hickey, Tammy Ann (Greg) Howard, William Bradley (Samantha) Hamilton and Brian Lee (Amanda) Hamilton, all of Georgetown; eight great-grandchildren, Logan Hamilton Hickey, Nickolas Kent Hickey, Andrew Lay Hickey, Lucas Landrum Howard, Jessica Hope Howard, Wesley Gerald Howard, William Jonathan Hamilton and Landrum Lee Hamilton; two brothers, Harold (Myrtle) Hamilton and Howard "Poke" (Betty) Hamilton, both of Georgetown; and a sister, Wanda June Slone, of Charleston, S.C.

He was preceded in death by a sister and brother, Margaret Hamilton Graves and Clarence Hamilton.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006. at Central Church of God, with the Rev. Daryl Brown and the Rev. Eugene Hamilton officiating.

Burial was in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers were Bradley Hamilton, Brian Hamilton, Brian Hickey, Greg Howard, Mike Hamilton and Larry Wilhoit.

Honorary bearers were Harold Hamilton, Howard (Poke) Hamilton, Wanda June Slone, Ray Gillispie, Robert Covington, Agee Hamilton and Oney Vanlandingham.

Rella Bogie Hamm, 87, formerly of South Third Street, Nicholasville, 
died Monday, April 22, 2002, in Georgetown. She was the widow of 
Shirley Hamm, who died in 1991.
She was a native of Jessamine County and the daughter of the late Loton 
and Bettie Dean Bogie. She was a member of the Nicholasville United 
Methodist Church, having taught Sunday school there and at Wesley 
Chapel for many years. She was a member of the Methodist Women and had 
been an active member of the Oak Hill Homemakers Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue (Harold) Wilson, of Georgetown; a 
son, Donald (Mary Elizabeth) Hamm, of Paris; five grandchildren, 
Shirley Hamm (Kent) Snodgrass, Donald Hamm Jr., Betty Wilson (Rick) 
Covington, Allan M. (Becky) Wilson and James Shirley (Tammy) Wilson; 
eight great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Hamm, Jay Wilson, Eric Wilson, Amy

Maxine Jo Osborne Hammons, 69, of Burton Pike, died Monday, May 14, 2007 at her home.

She was a homemaker and wife of almost 50 years to Scott County Sheriff Bobby Hammons

A native of Scott County, she was the daughter of the late Joe T. and Wilma Glass Osborne. She was a member of Gano Baptist Church, a former member of the Stamping Ground Ruritan Club and a special deputy to the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda (Bobby) Vance, of Georgetown; two sons, Randy (Debbie) Hammons and Tommy (Cheryl) Hammons, both of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Marianne and Eric Hammons, Ryan Vance, and Victoria and Hayden Hammons; and two brothers, Billy (Roberta) Os-borne and Bobby (Betty) Os-borne.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Jarrod Vance.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 18, at Harmony Christian Church, officiated by the Rev. Sherman Ramsey, the Rev. Harry Hargis and the Rev. Rodney Courtney.

Everest "Ev" Hampton, 95, of Georgetown, died Monday, April 22, 2002. 
He was the husband of the late Jessie (Chick) Richardson Hampton.
He was born in Lenawee County, Mich., on May 15, 1906, and was the son 
of the late Elmer LeRoy and Jenny C. Wood Hampton. He graduated from 
Lincoln High school and two years of business college. He retired after 
27 years of service for the Atlantic Service Company. He was a member 
and an elder of the Oxford Christian Church. He was also a member of 
the Mt. Vernon Lodge F.A.&M. No. 14, OES Rising Star Chapter 115, 
Scottish Rite, Oleika Shrine Temple, Salvation Army Board, Readiness 
Board, Georgetown and Navy Reserves. He was a past president 
(1979-1980) for Kiwanis Club, Georgetown.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Jane and Richard 
R. Kraft, of St. Augustine, Fla.; a granddaughter, Susannah Hampton 
Kraft; a grandson, Simon Richard Kraft; and a sister, Beryl Craig, of 
Orlando, Fla.

Hazel (Ernst) Rilki, of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; a daughter-in-law,

Fla.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 
great-great-grandchildren.

Opera Happy, 97, of Georgetown, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at 
Georgetown Health Care Center. She was the widow of William A. Happy.
She was born in Harrison County on Sept. 28, 1905, and was the daughter 
of the late John Wesley and Emma Smith Nichols. She was a homemaker and 
a member of the Boydtown United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three children, Naomi Smith, of Cynthiana, and James

He was a member of the Episcopal faith, VFW Post 7054 and American Legion Post 24 and a former Oleika Shriner. He was a retired FCI prison guard in Lexington and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Benjamin Darnell “B.J.” (Kim) Hayes, of Georgetown, and Gary Franklin Hayes, of Naples, Fla.; a daughter, Donna (Johnny) Mulberry, of Sadieville; 10 grandchildren; a brother, James Fitzgerald Hayes, of Waycross, Ga.; and a favorite cousin, Inez Johnson.

Lucille Jones Hilander, 85 of Long Lick Pike, died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at Dover Manor Nursing 
Home. She was the wife of Ansel “Bud” Hilander.

A native of Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late William Owen and Zelma Cunningham 
Jones. She was a member and deacon of First Christian Church, a homemaker and past president of 
the Scott County Homemakers.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Carlton, of Peachtree, Ga.; and two granddaughters, 
Jennifer Carlton, of Florida, and Kelly Carlton, of Georgia.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at Johnson's Funeral Home by the 
Rev. Scott Cox. 

Burial will be in the GEORGETOWN CEMETERY. 

Casket bearers will be Tracy Hilander, Ricky Ashcraft, J.B. Hockensmith, James Stone, Raymond

Dasie Lee Hinkle, 70, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001, at 
Georgetown Health Care. She was the widow of Otto Hinkle.
She was born on March 18, 1931, in Knox County, and was the daughter of 
the late Bruce and Sarah Shelton Payne. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Smallwood, of Cincinnati; five 
sons, Carl Hinkle, of Sadieville, Roger Hinkle, of Paris, Terry Hinkle, 
of Georgetown, Dennis Hinkle, of Georgetown, and Ronnie Hinkle, of 
Goshen, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, 
Barbara Cellentani, of London, and Mildred Payne, of Barbourville; and 
a brother, James Payne, of London.
She was preceded in death by a son, Don Hinkle.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at 
Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery.
Mrs. Hinkle’s grandsons will serve as casket bearers.

Benjamin Thomas "Ben" Hinton Jr., 55, of Bristol, Tenn., formerly of 
Georgetown, died suddenly Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at the Bristol 
Regional Health Center.
A native of Georgetown, he was the son of the late B.T. Hinton Sr. and 
Betty Biddle Hinton. 
Survivors include two brothers, Edward Lee Hinton, of Virginia Beach, 
Va., and Dr. Jeffrey T. Hinton, of Johnson City, Tenn.; five nieces and 
nephews; and three great-nieces.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Johnson’s 
Funeral Home with Dr. Jeffrey T. Hinton and Dr. Vernon Mallow 
officiating.

Nannie Margaret Hinton, 72, of Georgetown, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, 
at St. Joseph Hospital. She was the wife of Doyle Hinton.
She was born in Scott County on March 23, 1929, and was the daughter of 
the late Frank and Lelia Wilson Bratton. 
Survivors include her husband; a son, David Hinton, of Georgetown; two 
daughters, Becky (Ronnie) McClanahan and Linda (Dan) Wise-Blades, both 
of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, Maria Wells, Tammy Humphrey, Betsy 
Wise, Billy Wise, Matthew Wise, Jeff McClanahan and Aaron Hinton; five 
great-grandchildren, Hannah, Amanda and Tanner Wells, Brittany Harlow 
and Adam Humphrey; a sister, Mary D. Riddle, of Sadieville; and a 
nephew, Larry Riddle, of Sadieville.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Mark Wise and Ronald Doyle 
McClanahan.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at the 
Turkeyfoot Christian Church with the Rev. Roger Barkley officiating.
Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

She was born in Georgetown on Sept. 22, 1971, and was the daughter of 
Lloyd and Lucy McKinney Hobbs, of Georgetown.
Survivors include her parents; three brothers, Frank Hobbs, of 
Georgetown, William Hobbs, of Georgetown, and David Hobbs, of Stamping 
Ground; three sisters, Clara Widner, of Versailles, Molly Roland, of 
Georgetown, and Nancy Mitchell, of Frankfort; and a number of nieces 
and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Tucker, Yocum & 
Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. David Calvert officiating.
Burial was in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.

Almedia West Perkins Hockensmith

Almedia West Perkins Hockensmith, 96, of Harrodsburg Health Care, formerly of Frankfort, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at Harrodsburg Health Care Center, following a long illness. She was the widow of Larry B. Hockensmith.

A native of Scott County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Frankfort First Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Alfred and Pearl Humphrey West.

Survivors include two sons, Elmo Perkins, of Frankfort, and Raymond Perkins, of Georgetown; three daughters, Betty Hinkle, of Harrodsburg, Marie McPherron, of Frankfort, and Rosena Perry, of Louisville; a brother, Roger West, of Georgetown; a sister, Dorothy West Collins, of Stamping Ground; 15 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Harrod Bros. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Owens and Rhonda Hinkle officiating.

Burial was in the family lot in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Woodford County.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons.

The family request contributions be made to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville.

Richard T. Honaker, 33, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002.
He was born in Versailles on Aug. 8, 1968, and was the son of Linda 
Moon Burton, of Georgetown, and Steven Dale Honaker Sr., of Cincinnati. 
He was a farm worker by trade.
Survivors include his parents; a son, Matthew Thomas Honaker, of 
Georgetown; a daughter, Patches Honaker, of Georgetown; three brothers,

Georgetown; four sisters, Rosemary Jones, of Georgetown, Linda Honaker,

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2002, at

from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Colorado.
She served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1988 to 2000 and

Sara Duncan Hotham, 74, died Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Hospice Care Center. She was the widow of Norman William Hotham.

A native of Midway, she was the daughter of the late Elgin Reynolds Duncan and Helen Hash Terry and was a member of Penn Avenue Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and a former babysitter.

Survivors include three sons, Mark and Robert Adams, of Georgetown, and Michael Adams, of Lexington; a daughter, Marjorie Adams (Rick) Hadden, of Lexington; three grandchildren, Joseph and Timothy Hadden and Rebecca Hadden Buckler; three great-grandchildren, Kenadi, Kenzie and Jacob Buckler; and two brothers, James and Jerry Duncan.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Yount.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at Johnson's Funeral Home by the Rev. Bobby Sageser and Bro. Lowell Coots.

Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery.

She was the widow of Fred E. Howard.

Omer B. Humphrey, 93, of Georgetown, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Dover Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Gladys Marie Anderson Humphrey, who died in April 1989.

He was born in Scott County on Nov. 15, 1909, and was the son of the late George P. and Mamie McDowell Humphrey. He was a retired employee of Kroger and was a member of Long Lick Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son-in-law, Carroll G. Wallace, of Georgetown; a grandson, Richard T. (Rick) Wallace, of Louisville; a foster grandson, Mark Reynolds, of California; two nieces, Rozena Perry and Marjorie Herron; and two nephews, Gayle Breen and Don Hood.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Wallace; a brother, Tilmon Humphrey; and four sisters, Pearlie Hood, Tinie Breen, Carrie Kelly and Sallie Humphrey.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Sageser and the Rev. Glenn Redmon officiating.
