HOLLOWAY was born in Shelby County, Ky., December 26, 1835, the ninth of fourteen children born to William B. and Ann M. (Miller) Holloway. William B. was born August 9, 1798, within six miles of Richmond, Va., and moved to Barren County, Ky., in 1809. He was a wagon-maker by trade, at which he worked for many years; moved to Shelby County, Ky., in 1820, where he resided until 1836, moving thence to Spencer County, Ky., where he now resides. He married, September 15, 1820, Ann M. Miller, of Virginia, daughter of Aminadab Miller. She was born August 23, 1800, and is still living. They are both members of the Christian Church. William B. Holloway was a son of James, who was killed in 1811 by a tree falling on him while he was hoeing corn. Our subject married, March 10, 1861, Mrs. Sarah C. Neal (Staples), daughter of John and Liza (Bailey) Staples. She had one child by her first husband, John A. Neal. Mr. Holloway's children are Edward T., Lemuel L., Lillie B., Theodore B. and Walter S. Mr. Holloway, his wife, Edward T., Lemuel, Lillie B. and stepson, John A.
