Kentucky: A History of the State. Perrin, Battle & Kniffin, 6th ed.,1887, (Spencer) BEN MILLER was born in Spencer County, Ky., November 7, 1837, the third of a family of four children born to Isaac and Ann (Montgomery) Miller. Isaac was born in Virginia in 1796, immigrated to Kentucky with his parents when he was nine years old, and settled in Spencer County on the farm where our subject now resides. He was a son of John Miller and died July 27, 1850. John Miller was also a native of Virginia. Mrs. Ann Montgomery was born in Nelson County, Ky., and was a daughter of Thomas Montgomery. Our subject has always been engaged in agricultural pursuits, and owns 625 acres of fine land. He married, May 17, 1864, Margaret E. Nichols, of Nelson County, daughter of Henry Nichols. One child, Lizzie, blessed this union, and is now the wife of J.W. Huston, of Nelson County, Ky. Mr. Huston is engaged in the drug business in Bloomfield, Ky.; he and his wife have one child, Ben M. Mr. Miller is a Master Mason in good standing, and belongs to Fairfield Lodge, No. 441, of which he is Senior Warden. He is also a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South.
