ROUSE was born in Bullitt County, Ky., November 12, 1851, the seventh of a family of ten children born to W.A. and Nancy E. (Deacon) Rouse. W. A. was born in Bullitt County, Ky., and has always been engaged in agricultural pursuits. He is a son of Moses Rouse, who was born in Boone County, Ky., and he a son of Michael Rouse, who was born in Virginia. Mrs. Nancy E. Rouse was born in Bullitt County, a daughter of James Deacon. Our subject was reared on a farm in Bullitt County, and received a common-school education. In 1884 he moved to Spencer County, and has since resided there. He has always been engaged in agricultural pursuits and stock trading. March 9, 1876, he married Mary K. Edmonson, of Spencer County, Ky., daughter of William and Angeline (Collings) Edmonson. Three children have blessed this union: Max A., Oma E., and Hyte D. Mrs. Rouse is a member of the Christian Church. Mr. Rouse owns 388 acres of land. Politically he is a Democrat.
