Phillip Cox - Dorcas Hull Bible
Contributed by: Allice Burns Reynolds
Background on the bible from
Fran Shuman Miller.
The "Cox Bible" was
presented to the Bridgewater Township, Somerset
County, NJ Historical Society in 1940 by Col.
Philander Betts. The
bible originally belonged to Dorcas Hull's mother
Jerusha Hitchcock who married Phineas Hull.
At last
accounts, it was in the possession of Harvey B.
Johnson of Ocean Grove, NJ. At some point, it was
photocopied, but it's in negative (black with white
letters). Was able to scan the 4 pages photocopied,
which included a family page giving the dates of
some of the children of Phillip Cox. The records are
somewhat difficult to read.
