WILLS of WARREN CO KY *copied from photocopy of original found in the Warren Co KY Courthouse, Bowling Green, KY
First of all I give and commend my Soul unto the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body to the earth to be decenly intered at the discretion of my Executor herein after named and as touching my worldly goods where with it has pleased Almight God to bless me with in thie Tabernacle of day. I give devise & dispose of the Said in manner and form as followeth to wit. Item: I bequeath to SUSANNA STOVALL my dearly beloved wife one hundred acres of land the lot on which I now live be the same by the line & courses more or less by her freely to be possessed and enjoyed during her natural life or widowhood and the expiraton thereof to be freely possesses and enjoyed by my dearly beloved son GEORGE STOVALL his heirs and assign forever. I also bequeath unto my well beloved wife SUSANNA one cow & calf and featherbed and furniture. Item: I give and bequeath unto my beloved sons JESSE STOVALL & THOMAS STOVALL one lot of land containing one hundred acres including my ferry at big Barren River which land and Ferry it is my Will that it be Equally divided between them and freely possessed and enjoyed by them their heirs & assigns forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my beloved son-in-law THOMAS
OLIVER one lot of land containing fifty acres of
adjoining the lot of fifty acres said THOMAS
OLIVER now lives on and lying between Said lot
and the lot before devised Between my two sons JESSE
STOVALL & THOMAS STOVALL
and also one other lot of fifty acres of land whereon the
said THOMAS OLIVER now lives which lot
was my intention to have willed to my beloved son DRURY
STOVALL, but was sold by him to said OLIVER
by my consent which two lots of land be the same by the
lines and coursed more or less it is my will that they be
freely possessed and enjoyed by said THOMAS
OLIVER his heirs or assigns forever Item: I give and bequeath unto THOMAS DOBSON, JOHN DOBSON, JAMES DOBSON, BETSEY DOBSON, SUCKY DOBSON & SALLY DOBSON, heirs of ELIAS DOBSON deceased one lot of land containing three acres by the same more or less by lines and courses by lines more or less adjoining the lines of WILLIAM OLIVER, John Divine & John Fishback including a Spring to be equally divided between them and to be freely possessed and enjoyed by them & their heirs forever.I Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved son-in-law DANIEL MUNRO in the Sum of twenty two pounds fifteen shillings lawful money tobevied and raised out of my personal estate. Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter NANCY STOVALL the sum of twenty two pounds fifteen shillings lawful money to be levied and raised out of my personal estate and also one cow & calf and one feather bed and furniture. Item: I give and bequeath unto my beloved son GEORGE STOVALL the sum of twenty two pounds fifteen shillings lawful money to be levied & raised ot of my personal estate and paid unto him when he come to the age of twenty-one year and also one featherbed & furniture one cow & calf and one black stud colt rising four years old. Item: I give and bequeath unto my beloved grand Son BARTHOLOMEW STOVAL two cow & calves. Item: It is my will that all my personal estate and movable property other than what has been before expressly mentioned should be sold at public Auction at the discretion of my Executor herein after named and after all my just debts & funeral Expenses and legacies before mentioned shall be paid the residue thereof. It is my will that it should be Equally divided amongst my beloved wife & all my children. And lastly I do hereby make & ordain my worthy friend John Ray the Sole Executor of this my last Will & testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disanul and every other former Will & Testament & legacies Bequeathed & Execute by me in any? before named willed or bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other ot be my last Will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this twenty-first day of march in the year of our
Lord one thousand Eight hundred & Seven and of this
commonwealth the fifteenth. Signed published pronounded
and disclosed by the sd BARTHOLOMEW STOVAL
